    When we consider what it means to be a good Metroidvania, Somber Echoes definitely fits the bill, but doesn’t do anything to really stand out. Even though the game doesn’t do anything bad, it also doesn’t do anything good that we haven’t already seen in other games. At the end of the day, this is just another decent Metroidvania, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

    We’ve had a lot of great JRPGs this year, but this isn’t one of them. Unless you’re a fan of Fairy Tail, there are very few reasons why you’d want to play this game. The battles are generic, the game expects you to know the plot and it often seems like the game just wants you to be done with it and move on.

    We highly recommend playing Stray, if you haven’t already, on more powerful consoles or PC to experience this intriguing and beautiful story as it was originally crafted. However, if the Nintendo Switch is truly your only option, this is still an okay way to enjoy the game about the cat that has captured so many hearts… even if it’s a bit blurry.

    EA FC 25 plays it safe with solid football, avoiding too much risk or complexity, which makes sense from a business perspective. However, many players are starting to lose patience with the lack of innovation in sports games year after year. The new FC isn’t a complete copy-paste of its predecessor and does bring improvements with certain new features. It’s definitely the best football game on the market right now and one of the top sports games overall, but there’s certainly room for improvement.

    If you gave someone who absolutely despises 3D platformers to make one, you’d probably get something like Epic Mickey Rebrushed. Even though this Remaster looks nicer than the original, it only managed to remind us how disappointing the original game was. As much as we love Mickey Mouse and 3D platformers, maybe it’s time to use the paint thinner on this one.

The mix of gorgeous graphics, Chinese culture, adrenaline-pumping battles and cut-scenes really spiced up this souls-lite.
