Aug 26, 2024The good news is that now that Big Ant has nailed the look, feel and atmosphere of tennis and delivered a take on the sport that is genuinely impressive, there’s only really one thing left for them to focus on for ongoing updates and iterations. Far be it for me to ever suggest that AI is an easy part of game development, but if the Big Ant team can access enough historical records of how the professionals have constructed their games, understand where they target their shots, under what conditions, and where their games break down, then that massive roster, coupled with personality-based AI, would put Big Ant so far ahead of the competition that there’s no catching up. It’s a big data exercise, and it would be so especially worth it for the sport of tennis.

Jun 5, 2025TIEBREAK+'s plus may have been timid and even a bit lacking in terms of structure, but it made up for it with its content. It's a real treat for fans of the sport, and the historical game modes in which features Djokovic, Sharapova, and the rivalry between Federer and Nadal are a great way to introduce tennis to younger players who want to get to know the greats of the court a little better.

Sep 2, 2024In short, we liked TIEBREAK, and it left us with some intense and exciting matches, especially once we got used to its gameplay. The huge number of licenses plays in its favour, and the creation options open the door to almost anything we might miss. Right now, it's an enjoyable title with a fantastic foundation, but it doesn't feel like a finished game to us, so we'd recommend keeping an eye on it until, hopefully, future patches make it a serious contender for the best tennis game of the moment.

Sep 3, 2024Tiebreak: Official Game of the ATP and WTA is an unfortunate mix. The license brings with it some decently rendered players and venues but it also lacks a presentational flourish to do it justice. The tennis is uncomplicated but I miss having better feedback and precision. The career mode can feel slim and there's very little to do away from the court. If the tennis was more compelling, I'd find it easier to recommend. As it is, I find it lacking.

Sep 7, 2024Tiebreak, despite all its flaws, is the best video game representation of tennis that we have received so far. The biggest sports fans will still be able to enjoy this game for hours, provided they turn a blind eye to the somewhat poor AI and inadequate online mode.

Sep 3, 2024On the outside, Tiebreaker looks impressive with its plentiful roster blossoming with talent, a dedication towards providing the most authentic tennis game experience, and a presentation that wraps you up into the star-studded allure of a tennis icon. However, it all starts to unravel when you actually play it with its frustrating physics, its lack of non-generic modes, and the overall feeling it's just another me-too tennis game. Forget a tie-break, this one couldn't tie Novac Djokovic's ASIC's, which isn't the kind of impression that a new tennis game contender would want to make, yet Tiebreaker sadly fails to be anything more than just another pretender to Top Spin's crown.

Sep 9, 2024Despite its massive roster of players and tournaments and some of the best visuals in a tennis game to date, Tiebreak is a massive disappointment with its dysfunctional career mode, terrible gameplay and extremely dumb AI opponents.
