Batman: Arkham VR is a short and sweet VR experience, with great sense of scale, atmosphere and story telling. Being able to meet and interact with characters from the Batman universe is great fun, and thanks to a plethera of riddles and secrets to find there's also a great reason to go back for more.

Super Time Force is charming as all hell, as well as incredibly funny. The shooting is not as precise as you’d want, but the concept is nice, and who can actually say no to a trip through time and space?

Despite a somewhat flawed presentation, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope captures what made its predecessor special, and improves on the series’ solid tactical RPG-premise.

Guitar instructors are facing serious competition from Ubisoft. Rocksmith turns dull repetitions into a fun game, and will turn you into a much better guitarist through steady increases in challenge and difficulty.

Great fun. That is if fun is the same as a dark story, horrible imagery, tricky murder riddles and dying teenagers. Great times at Hope's Peak Academy.

3D World remains as charming and fun as ever, with Bowser's Fury serving as an appetizing and unique, but also surprisingly cumbersome side dish.

This War of Mine is an important game, both as a glance into the life of civilians ruined by war, but also as a great survival game. It's only a shame that the tedious days and repetitive encounters hamper the experience.

A tense and unnerving experience that wonderfully captures the style and atmosphere of the original film. Alien: Isolation, in spite of its faults, is a welcome and accomplished take on a great franchise long deserving of a grate game.

The biggest shake-up for Diablo IV since launch looks to be its best so far. Vessel of Hatred offers up a compelling story, a fun new class, and an exciting world to explore, all while sticking to the dark and gritty themes that worked so well for the main game.

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is both great remakes, filled to the brim with a superb selectipn of Pokémon, beautiful graphics, as well as the interesting, new DexNav, which changes the way you go about catching monsters. It also has lame side activities and a lop-sided multiplayer, but that does little to ruin the experience in any major ways.

Borderlands 3 is, quite simply, more Borderlands. That means excessive charming humor, great variety in environments and sidequests and a lot of fun coop action spread throughout. The things that hold the game back are mostly minor annoyances – like the overabundance of everlasting boss fights and the gruesomely tiresome inventory management – but all in all this is a package that simply works.

Crimson Desert is a highly ambitious open-world game. It is absolutely beautiful, packed with discovery, puzzles and combat. It doesn't always deliver on all its potential, and bugs are to be found, but in the end it is unique, mesmerizing and addicting.

Marvel Rivals manages to feel both familiar and like a breath of fresh air. The cast of characters is exciting across the board, and once the game adds more maps and hopefully better matchmaking, I think NetEase could be on to a winner.

Skate 3 may not be more than an evolution of the two first games, but it is a damned good evolution. Port Carverton is a skaters paradise, and the introduction of difficulty levels invites both new and veteran gamers to enjoy the fictional city on four wheels.

This mostly hilarious game fuses tactics with intense action and presents a solid challenge for any would-be orc slayer. The constantly growing repertoire of new traps and weapons provides endless amounts of bloody fun.

Aarklash: Legacy offers superb tactical combat in the style of classics like Baldur's Gate. It's a game with combat and little else, but if you fancy yourself an armchair tactician you owe it to yourself to give it a go.

While fans of the series may miss Max and Chloe at first, The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit sets a bar for Life is Strange season 2 that’s just as high as 2015’s time travelling adventure. Chris is a charming, observant little kid, and his alter ego Captain Spirit provides a gripping side adventure in this two-hour long prologue. Dontnod, I am ready – give me season 2.

In all it's familiarity the Diabloesque gameplay sucks you in, but it is the beautiful word, the brilliant music, and the genius voice over that keeps you going. Bastion might be a game, but it's much more a fascinating fairy tale told in real time.
