Its sometimes highfalutin story may not be for everyone, and the gameplay will undoubtedly turn some away. However, if you can get into the weirdly zen-like groove of Death Stranding, with its enticing world and deep lore, you may very well find it to be a wholly unique journey you'll end up loving every step of.

You can't really go wrong with Street Fighter, and that's the case on the 3DS as well. Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edtition is tons of fun and the best launch title on the console.

Halo Wars 2 embodies some of the best aspects of real time strategy while redefining it through its new Blitz mode. That being said, it would have been nice if the campaign would have offered more variety, as opposed to sticking to a safe and well-tested format a little too closely.

Knockout City is fun, fast and fresh, and even though it sounds like I'm describing a deodorant, it's also the perfect way to describe this just-as-perfect summer game.

Mario Golf: World Tour simulates many of the elements a golf player in the real world must consider before taking a shot. Wind, weather and terrain affects the ball in realistic ways and makes every shot different from each other. Mixed with incredible graphics, this game will surely please both non-golfers and golf pros.

As one of the few franchises that can challenge the EA Sports hegemony, NBA 2K11 isn't only a great addition to a good sports series. It is compelling, challenging and competitive, and might very well be the best basketball game to date.

Pyre is a beautifully written and designed adventure game with addictive and intuitive combat. The campaign overstays its welcome somewhat during the second half, but that is not enough to tarnish the overall impression, which is of a unique game, filled to the brim with some of the most memorable characters seen in quite some time.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is an MMO founded upon a conservative, yet improving mentality. It delievers a great amount of good content within the Star Wars universe, and is by far one of the best games this genre has seen the last ten years.

The collisions in NHL 14 are huge. Combined with realistic movements is this a game hockey fans would love. The fights are now integrated in a better way, to make everything look more like an actual TV production. The game flows really well, and the steps towards realism are a great plus.

Mafia II is a very entertaining game, with great atmosphere and lots of memorable moments. The story could have been more interesting, and there's a bit too much driving from A to B, but the great missions more than makes up for these flaws.
