    I think GreedFall may be the sleeper hit of the year. It’s an RPG that captures the best parts of BioWare’s works while adding in their own gameplay elements and a unique setting. The side stories are given just as much importance as the main quests. The world is large despite not being one large open world experience. Combat is the perfect blend of real time action and turn based decision making. After playing Bound by Flame earlier this year I had little expectation for GreedFall. I am happy I was wrong to doubt Spiders, because it is one of my favorite games of the year.

    GreedFall is the game BioWare fans have been waiting for. Spiders manage to bring us a complex story, deep characters and confronted factions that show real political and religious problems. Despite its technical issues, GreedFall is what fans of RPG have been waiting for.

    Having spent nearly 30 hours in Greedfall, I’m glad to have experienced it. The narrative is deep, rich of lore, complex and has many twists and turns; it’s just a shame it feels a little too long by the end with some superficial padding of forced side quests. If you’re a fan of Dragon Age or Witcher 3 and have been craving a new RPG to sink some hours into with some depth, Greedfall should be at the top of your list. It’s a shame that it released in the busiest holiday window and will be overlooked by all the other AAA games out there, but those who manage find it amongst the crowd and give it a chance should be more than pleasantly surprised.

    Finally Spiders show their great quality with Greedfall. A remarkable Action-RPG full of content, which will give hours of fun to the genre. With an even bigger budget, it could have aimed higher.

    GreedFall is a valid, old school RPG with great mood and environments. With a satisfying story and setting, it just lacks in the technical department and for a not too impressive and a bit chaotic combat system. Lovers of old, BioWare-style RPGs should definitely give it a chance, though.

    GreedFall is a highly recommended title for all those who are fans of RPG titles and enjoy a remarkable artistic section, managing to create a world of dark fantasy set in the era of imperialism.

    Greedfall has some good ideas and nice writing. The player is often stimulated in a good way. But it totally falls apart in the very last third of the game, highlighting the flaws we agreed not to see until then.

    Una buena historia que te engancha, una ambientación muy lograda, un combate "a la carta" (magia, armas de fuego, armas blancas, trampas... oUna buena historia que te engancha, una ambientación muy lograda, un combate "a la carta" (magia, armas de fuego, armas blancas, trampas... o varias de ellas), unas misiones secundarias tan apetecibles que no querrás perderte ninguna, unos personajes carismáticos y creíbles, unos diseños de enemigos alucinantes (cada criatura de la isla es digna de ver… pero cuando te encuentres el primer "boss" se te va a desencajar la mandíbula), un sistema de progresión muy adictivo (no querrás dejar de jugar para ganar los puntos de experiencia que te hagan subir de nivel y poder desbloquear nuevas habilidades, atributos y talentos), un mapa extenso por descubrir, unos diálogos inteligentes y que aportan matices a la historia, una toma de decisiones que creará alianzas con unos y enfrentamientos con otros.

    Podría seguir escribiendo más sobre esta gran aventura llamada GreedFall, pero no tengo más tiempo… debo volver a la isla salvaje de Teer Fradee.    … Expand

    I really great game I was very impressed with it so it does have some repetitiveness and it does feel like a bit of a slog the story was great

    And im gonna get right to the point.. the story here is sooo boring, it wont pull you through this 19 hour adventure at all… I couldn’t tell your character names or plots.. I just couldn’t bother to care…
    except for of course my character and my characters cousin…
    So naturally the game must rely on its gameplay… and thankfully this is where Greedfall shines.
    GreeFall very quickly reminded me of Dragon Age Origins with a slight hint of assassins creed and the witcher…
    As you progress the game youll gain a party with hteir own quests, you can equip them with better items and gear throughout your journey….
    structure wise the game is the same from start to finish.. run to a travel marker or campfire.. fast travel to the quest location.. run to the spot on the map while you fight enemies in between, listen to some boring dialog… rinse and repeat until you get to an exciting boss battle…
    If you’ve played 2 hours of GreedFall you’ve played all hours of greedfall… nothing changes.
    But there was just something about it that kept me hook, icouldnt put this game down…
    Im not quite sure what It is… but despite the gamplay not changing up, and the story being so boring.. I couldn’t help but want to see this journey through to its end…
    it had some sortve spell on me…
    Despite all of its problems..
    There are essentially 2 different section to the world.. city and forest…
    Every city, every forest look and feel nearly identical from the outside to the insides
    enemies are few and far between.. but the hook was there.. leveling up… dumping my skills into a tree, making my character stronger and stronger… which does bring me to the biggest issue I have with this game…
    Leveling here is painfully slow…
    Sadly you kind of have to stick to one thing and one thing only per playthrough…
    You cant have a character that can carry powerful weapons and have heavy armor for example.. you just cant…
    Due to how slow points are given for each of the 3 trees, you have to really specialize in one thing which I don’t mind too much… but that was until the game was basically forcing me to choose certain skilsl towards the end of the story.. youre forced to craft items only about 4 times in the story.. but still to craft those 4 items you have no choice but to dump two skill points into areas you may otherwise not care to build upon..
    If im a warrior I shouldn’t be forced to dump my skills into science if im not crafting potions the whole game…
    This breaks the otherwise feeling of freedom the game has…
    Youre free to treat character in this game any way youd like, there are no fail states to missions… if youre detected when youre told not to you just have to fight your way through and figure things out from there…
    But forcing you to spend your points in a game that rarely hands those points out just really bothered me.. if youre going to make item crafting necessary for story progression, you shouldn’t also tie it to a skill and force me to use my remapping crystals.
    All in all though GreedFall has so much potential…
    With more incentive to explore, less item binding to certain skills or at the very least more points to spend as you level and a better story I believe GreedFall 2 or whatever spyder decides to do next could be even better…

    Spiders, le studio français bien connu pour ses jeux (de rôle) bâclés a encore une fois sévi… sévèrement ! Déjà, le « monde » proposé est àSpiders, le studio français bien connu pour ses jeux (de rôle) bâclés a encore une fois sévi… sévèrement ! Déjà, le « monde » proposé est à côté de la plaque : une sorte de XVIIème siècle avec de la magie (?!)… bien peu crédible… mais avec si peu de magie qu’on a accès (éventuellement) qu’à un seul sort, la « stase » !

    A condition d’avoir choisi dès le départ le « bon » arbre de compétences, car le jeu ne vous autorise qu’à distribuer des points dans cet arbre et pas dans les deux autres ! t’appelles ça, un jeu de rôle ? Mais revenons au monde lui-même (aux jolis graphismes, ma foi) qui nous sert sans vergogne son agenda moralisateur anti-colonialiste, deux factions invasives (dont l’une très inquisitrice) et la troisième, celle des gentils indigènes de l’île : on a donc une sorte d’Avatarte qui ne pisse pas bien loin !

    Par ailleurs, le jeu qui n’est pourtant pas un monde ouvert, réussit l’exploit de rendre les voyages rapides inutilement compliqués et ses trois petites villes ne sont qu’un copié-collé des deux autres… sans compter celle du prologue. Le combat n’est pas folichon et demeure une copie de celui du… Witcher 2 (!) mais en nettement moins bien et pourtant, c’était pas déjà terrible dans ce Witcher second du nom… Cela reste certes moins merdique que dans les précédentes daubes de Spiders mais tout de même… qu’est-ce qu’on s’emmerde !

    Et c’est là le plus gros défaut du jeu, l’énorme défaut rédhibitoire : passé le prologue un brin intrigant, on s’emmerde à n’en plus finir par la suite : les enjeux sont ballots et/ou escamotés, les personnages sont creux et déjà vus, les dialogues sont littéralement à dormir debout (en voix anglaises uniquement !).

    Je rajouterai à tout ça que l’interface est largement perfectible et que la musique est ratée, plate et insipide. En bref et en résumé, ils ne savent toujours pas y faire, alors de grâce, je vous demande de vous arrêter ! vous êtes des incapables, vous n’y arriverez jamais… faites-vous une raison, les baltringues !    … Expand
