Mario Tennis Fever takes the series another step in the direction of Mario Kart craziness, but it doesn’t quite work as well on the small tennis court. Multiplayer matches provide short lived fun, but the overall experience lacks staying power, resulting in a shallow and uneven entry that fails to fully capitalize on the series’ potential.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron could have been a well executed mix of action and platforming, with a unique and artistic look. The combat system is interesting at first, but turns out to be too monotone and simple. With better combat mechanics and a more interesting story, it would have more to offer than simply good looks.

Sundered is undeniably beautiful to look at, but loses its visual charm in repetitive and boring areas, and while the combat system is fun, the fighting always bogs down into chaotic melee situations when hordes of enemies jump you out of nowhere. The story that is presented is perfectly fine, it offers some interesting characters, events and scenarios, but it means very little. It does not evoke any emotions, and it is not memorable in any way, which makes it quite a failure as a musical.
