Although Puppeteer was obviously built with old materials and traditional mechanics, it embodies a modern, if not timeless, platformer. Thanks to the passion and the masterful craftsmanship of Gavin Moore's team, this puppet was given a soul, both flamboyant and quirky, as such a magical performance shows.

It starts badly for the characters, but very well for the players. It's a sad story for Sean and Daniel. And we already know with some sequences of this episode that Life is Strange 2 has a chance to be a successful heir to the first season, thanks to its unique atmosphere, well-written characters and some tough choices to make. Potential is here. It's clear DONTNOD has the power to fulfill it.

DOOM Eternal is blurry but the frame rate is great on portable mode, which makes this FPS very enjoyable. On TV it's more complicated. A great occasion to discover the game on Switch if it's not already done.

Beyond an assumed classicism, Etrian Odyssey V refocuses on the Yggdrasil labyrinth, adding space and depth to exploration. Hence this episode gives more relevance to each decision, each combat, which boldly asserts its mythical role playing heritage through such refined formula.

For the twentieth episode in the series, Project Aces could have gone even further in using the concepts that had made the success of the series. What Ace Combat 7 does, it does it correctly and slightly better than before, but most of the time, the player is a a bit frustrated not to be able to go further. Same idea with the VR mode, that features only three little missions when we expected to play the whole game with a PSVR helmet.

MLB 15 The Show is a very immersive and exciting baseball experience that doesn't offer real improvements compared to last year's edition.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is not the game you were expecting and that's fine. It is a painfully restrictive and tough title that punishes you for every single mistake you make - which is not exactly what Monster Hunter World does. However it is also an amazingly rewarding game which will make your heart beat twice as fast every time you land a successful hit on a G rank Rathalos. Best enjoyed with friends, this is the game you want to get to the next level of hunting.

Who would say no to more background for Dishonored ? Especially if it's about taking control of a character as interesting as Daud, master assassin... There is not so much new stuff in The Knife of Dunwall, but more difficult levels that stealth fans will love.

Company of Heroes 2 doesn't really reinvent its own formula; but it clearly enriches it with several new layers of micro-management. It's a hell of a rich RTS game, but one that doesn't really take care of newcomers; if you were a fan of the original, you'll probably love this sequel, if you're new to the series, well, brace yourself, you'll have to learn the hard way.

RiME is a memorable game. A simple and attractive one that really moves us and leaves us as speechless as its protagonist once we realize the true meaning of the whole adventure.

With this new title, Frozenbyte has chosen to leave aside the semi-disappointing 3D experimentation of the previous part to focus on the 2.5D action / reflection formula that made its success. We find what makes the series so charming, with its enchanting universe, its trio of heroes with complementary capabilities and the opportunity to live this adventure up to four, locally or online. If the regulars of the series will grumble perhaps a little considering the few important innovations proposed by this new episode, Trine 4 remains an independent game very pleasant by his concept, his aspect, his lightness.

Crash Bandicoot fans can rest easy, Vicarious Visions didn't deface Naughty Dog's work. The three games look better than they ever have and play just as good as they used to. The NSane Trilogy is both fun and challenging and offers a good time to longtime fans of the original PlayStation's unofficial mascot. That said, people who didn't enjoy Crash Bandicoot games back in the 90s won't fall in love with the franchise thanks to this compilation.

This first DLC as Juli Kidman focuses on atmosphere and puzzles... and it is quite frightening! The gameplay mechanics are interesting too, but the game still suffers some AI and technical issues.

Conduct Together! seems to be a simple port of a mobile game at first, but this Switch version of Northplay's tiny management game is a delightful experience that will be enjoyed alone or with friends, thus arraying two different approaches.

As expected, ScourgeBringer is a well-balanced and dynamic Rogue-lite. Thanks to a fast-paced action and a complete set of moves, Kyhra's adventure through this sometime repetitive but nervous environment makes us want to go for another run almost every time.

A Little Golf Journey cleverly mixes 3D platformer mechanics with a standard golf approach to deliver a relaxing yet challenging adventure, with many secrets to find. If only the camera was not so twisted.

NEO: The World Ends With You will keep you hooked with its pretty universe, charming characters, captivating story and its very nice manga/anime design. It has a lot of interesting RPG mechanics that connect you with its world, but in terms of battle system, it is still a bit limited and repetitive.

NHL 14 will appeal to many novices, because it features everything that makes hockey a violent, explosive and tactical sport. But as usual, the passionate gamers who buy the new episode every year will inevitably be disappointed by the lack of changes and new features.

It's hard not to see flaws in this Fable III, which is less convincing in many areas than the previous one. Its inconsistent production values (sometimes beautifully executed, sometimes lacking a lot of polish), the over-simplification of some things that are sometimes not that efficient, the less than inspired bestiary: potential reproaches are numerous. But despite all those, Fable III, like it predecessors, remains so charming and mesmerizing that it works. The coop mode is a bliss (at last), and even though the "being King gameplay" is clearly underwhelming, one cannot be bored by this new Albion. Yes, Fable III could have been better polished and more ambitious, but it's still a game unlike any other.

After League of Legends, Riot Games has seemingly succeeded in creating a competitive tactical FPS game with a real identity. The game stands on solid ground at the state of its launch, which broke a record on Twitch. The question is whether the players will keep playing the game long-term with new content, and how the success will translate in esports.

A good interactive visual novel for players who like this type of game.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 takes the great concept seen in the first game and makes it even better with the addition of the "Skill Battle" mode which adds a touch of RPG to the gameplay. Gamers who can do without this new mode can keep playing the first Puyo Puyo Tetris. People who enjoy Puzzle Games and didn't play the first game shouldn't sleep on Puyo Puyo Tetris 2.

Gravity Rush 2 is a fantastic follow-up, that improves nearly everything.

Cat Quest 3 is a proposal in line with what Gentlebros had accustomed us to with the first two opuses of the license. The game loses some of the scope of the second installment. However, the call for adventure is there, reinforced by a sense of humor that wins us over. The story is short, but the ease of exploration makes you want to explore the open-world further. With two players, the pleasure is doubled. It's a pity that the legibility of combat is lost in multiplayer. Likewise, the quest system is being fine-tuned, but still needs to be consolidated to be effective. For around twenty euros, this third installment is well worth a look, if only to spend some quality time with family and friends, or even just for the pleasure of having some mindless fun with a game.

26 years after the last game, it’s a successful comeback for Fatal Fury City of the Wolves. The game is complete, technically demanding, but designed not to frustrate newcomers and strong enough to last over time.

Great work from Gunfire Games 2. Remnant 2 is a demanding title, but one that always rewards you appropriately. Surprisingly, the title proves to be much more subtle than it seems, whether it's for its brilliant boss or for the few puzzles that punctuate the exploration. The game's insane bestiary also contributes to maintaining constant interest, as does the title's superb artistic direction. Despite it's poor story, Remnant 2 offers an epic journey. A pure success.

If you have already played Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted, Rivals will look really too much similar. It is actually like a mix of those two games. But if you don't, it will be as always a nice game to play.

The Red Strings Club in an excellent story-driven game that offers a beautiful pixel design and a very interesting narrative gameplay.

Back in good shape last year, PES now confirms that it is a very good football simulation again. Of course, there is still some flaws here, but we will above all retain its increased AI, its improved and fluid gameplay, its new modes... and the challenges of the training mode appear to be a really nice touch.

Legend of the Skyfish is a very nice adventure game for iOS, which is inspired by Zelda games in a good way.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess won't be the game of the year, but it's still a pleasant surprise from Capcom. If we ignore the repetitiveness, which is still difficult to forget, we have an interesting first proposition. A more original experience than usual with combat with a particular feeling, and a whole strategic section that is quite complete but not stifling for newbies. It can also be a good entry point, even if you hate tower defense. The universe with Japanese folklore works, as does the artistic direction, which counterbalances the truly disappointing technique.

Grim Fandango was a fantastic adventure game 17 years ago, and it's still the same today. We just hoped the remaster to be up to it, and it's not totally the case.

Besides its delightful art style, brilliantly blending inspirations from Cuphead, early Mickey Mouse cartoons, and 1930s film noir, Mouse PI For Hire is from a gameplay standpoint a classic boomer shooter, but very effective and enjoyable to play. Even if its "detective" aspect is largely inconsequential, we generally enjoyed following this frenetic adventure as Troy Baker... Jack Pepper, despite a somewhat tedious final section that leaves a slightly underripe aftertaste for an overall appetizing cheese. Perhaps the upcoming DLC ​​will be the final clue to wrap up the investigation in style?

WWE 2K25 is without any difficulty a the must-have for wrestling game lovers. Everything is there with plenty of contents and with decent attempts of innovation in the player's experience. However, 2K seriously needs to look at the form and the technical engine that always does wonders, but sometimes is a lackluster on important elements on the ring.

There are not many superlatives that does not stick to Danganronpa V3 : Killing Harmony. This third installment in the series is more extreme, more meta, more amazing in its storyline, even if the core gameplay suffers from reals changes to surprise the old students. Unless the visual novel genre or its Japanese style makes you want to run away, Danganronpa V3 : Killing Harmony is worth the school trip.

Particularly beautiful for an iOS game, both on the iPad and iPhone, Jazz also enjoys a small price but great gameplay that make it hard to overlook. Its atmosphere and identity are strong, the music is fantastic, and even though its genre is overcrowded, it's really a title not to miss.

REANIMAL follows directly in the footsteps of the studio's previous titles. Far from trying to reinvent the wheel, Tarsier simply does what it does best: immersing us in a dark and unsettling experience, driven by an uncompromising minimalism. Of course, this doesn't prevent the creators of Little Nightmares from refining their formula, with welcome additions and adjustments here and there. But beware of the feeling of déjà vu that is slowly but surely starting to creep in…

On PC, Octopath Traveler is still this charming and gorgeous retro-RPG that offers a well-built but classic adventure to fans of the genre.

A port that is almost identical to the home versions. Pretty, comprehensive, its only real shortcoming is some really long loading times.

Far from a simple 3D "remodelization" for a more powerful, yet still portable home system, Pokémon: Let's Go not only refreshes the series' very first adventure, but also reflects the long journey since then, by wisely integrating evolutions such as Pokemon Go's capture system or partners in order to improve the modernity, accessibility and conviviality of the formula. A fantastic way to (re)start Pokémon, and a glorious conclusion for Junichi Masuda as director.

Technically outdated on a aging Wii console, The Last Story ends up being quite linear... and too short. Online games and the New Game + feature won't really make up for it, despite the artificial extension of its life span. Hopefully, the voice acting is good, and combat is quite satisfying. And there's always this Sakaguchi's touch... which is always nice to have... The last game of the genre on the Wii?

Diablo 2 is back in a Resurrected version and could appeal to purists as well as young people eager for challenges: The plastic has been completely revised, everything has been modeled again, and is now very flattering for the retina. The atmosphere of the game is as crazy as ever even though the storytelling has gotten a little old. The same can be said with the gameplay, which has hardly changed an iota: it's still just as nervous, addicting, devilishly catchy, but at the cost of sometimes outdated ergonomics. Nevertheless, we do not shy away from our pleasure of replaying this legend in conditions much more in line with what is being done in 2021.

BOXBOX! is not only a tribute to puzzle games of the past, its minimalist design unfolding into more elaborated forms thanks to a clever incubation at HAL Laboratory.

To sum-up LEGO City Undercover to a simple GTA with bricks would be a shame. Full of satire fore previous Telltale LEGO games and rich without any franchise to support it, City Undercover is able to charm with extensive content, no violence, and several layers of subtext for all to enjoy. It's a trans-generational game, and a good one at that.

This new version of Dragon's Crown is a superb way to discover another Vanillaware gem, a great fantasy beat them all with some great arts - to enjoy in 4K if you own a PS4 Pro - and with up to 4 players. There are not many new things compared to the PS3 and PS Vita versions, but newcomers should really go for it.

Luftrausers is a nervous and exciting arcade game, and at 9$ it's a really good deal.

A very tense episode that messes with our mind as we talk more with people and groups, and brilliantly introduces someone who's probably going to be a great archvillain for this season.

By exploiting the autostereocopic display cleverly, HAL Laboratory added depth in many ways to this cloudy world.

This might be the best of Mario Party, completely open online, yet Superstars also highlight the formula's inherent flaws due to a lack of boards, some lingering random elements despite the additional parameters, and the absence of creativity, if not ambition overall.

Too bad. This 2013 edition does indeed solve one of the two main issues of the series by giving the players the possibility of choosing what lands to tap in critical situations, but the 10 decks are considerably less interesting to play than the ones of the 2012 edition, and it's still impossible to simply craft your own decks with the provided cards. Those two shortcomings would be easy to solve, but it seems the developers don't want to, either by stupidity or laziness.

Life is Strange keeps on being charming. Relationships and secrets are well explored, choices count really much, and the unexpected outcome is so stunning that it will make the wait for the next episode quite unbearable.

InFamous: Second Son is the most beautiful and impressive game on PS4, and it's also a very nice open world game. The revolution is more on the visuals than in the gameplay, as it is quite classical, but this is still the next-gen game PS4 owners were waiting for.

Guitar Hero Live offers great innovations compared to its best enemy Rock Band 4, and this is great, but the microtransactions policy that won't let you permanently buy any song is really frustrating, spoiling the rest of the experience.

It's impossible not to be charmed by such a little gem. Everbody's Tennis Portable is easily the best portable tennis game out there, striking the perfect balance between accessibility and realism. The European version also gained a significant number of improvements over the Japanese one. It's a must have for all tennis fans.

Proteus is an experience for people who are stressed, anxious, nervous, the depressed... It's a little expensive, but the remedy works.

For a first of its kind, Granblue Fantasy Relink is a success. It throws itself wholeheartedly into the grand spectacle of pure action, showing extreme generosity. With a roster of some twenty unique characters, for as many different gameplays, Relink can boast of breaking the routine, or almost. Inherited from Gacha, it uses a progression system for its heroes that could put some people off. But it's also this recipe that makes the endgame, based on a system of quests to be completed alone or in cooperation, so addictive. If you're a customer, over a hundred hours of gameplay await you; if not, you'll have to make do with the main story, punctuated by memorable sequences and battles. The story, however, is hardly surprising, with dispensable side quests. Granblue Fantasy Relink has a bit of an "ass between two chairs", since it certainly won't appeal to everyone, but it's nonetheless a good action-RPG that tries to blend its heritage with a slightly more modern and current recipe. It paves the way for a franchise that could well surprise us even more in a few years' time.

The Writer follows in the footsteps of The Signal. In terms of gameplay, thanks especially to a better, more daring level design, it will serve fans with some nice sequences. And story-wise, well, it wouldn't be a compelling thriller setting if all questions were answered, but it still delivers a fulfilling end to this first season, while leaving a door open for a second one. But if we are to dive in it one day, it will need to rise up to an entirely new level in terms of gameplay, this time.

Scarlet Nexus is a charming new IP from Bandai Namco. It looks fine, has a solid background and some good gameplay mechanics. If you are looking for a good anime style action-RPG, it's definitely worth your time.

Football Manager has increased again in realism through pertinent adjustments. An essential for soccer's fans.

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Plus is a very good puzzle / reflex game, for newcomers and veterans who have already tried the first game. It offers new rules that boost the gameplay and renew the fun, and this Switch version also adds a game within the game, with a very cool co-op mode. Since the game comes out at a low price on eShop, we see no good reason to avoid this sweetmeat, as long as you like frantic arcade games with which scoring depends primarily on your reflexes and your intelligence.

Dead or Alive 5 + is an excellent port. This PS Vita version offers superb graphics and the gameplay is identical to the PS3/Xbox 360 versions.

A true Proust's Cookie of videogames, Secret of Mana is an absolute must-play of the iOS game library. Why ? Because everything that made it legendary in 1994 has been honored, and even improved in this version. Sure, the multiplayer was dropped, and the touch screen controls may bother some, but when you get beyond that, it's a wonder. Its pleasures are rooted in nostalgia, but this Action-RPG is at least as emblematic as a good Zelda.

After being successful on Kickstarter four years ago and later on its Early Access, the first title of Sadsquare Studio really reaches our expectations. Filled with great gameplay ideas, the game always tries to find new ways to send shivers down the spine of the player. We're not so sure about the handling of the inventory but despite that, Visage prooves that it only takes some interesting concepts and a genuine passion for the genre to make great horror games.

Although this remastered version might only be seen as a technical improvement, Gravity Rush appears even more accomplished on PS4, both from an artistic or a gameplay perspective. That won't completely compensate for the quiet loss of the second episode on PS Vita, nor justify the abandon of the portable console altogether, but it's a joy to contemplate Kat's quest going on in such a magnificent way.

Burial at Sea episode 2 is a brilliant conclusion to the story that started a few months ago. This great stealth-oriented experience with Elizabeth will make you feel fear, loneliness, hope and sadness like not so many modern games can do.

A great way to begin the second season. Playing with Clementine is great, dialogue mechanics are still enjoyable and action sequences, inspired by those from The Wolf Among Us, are happily more dynamic. A very promising inaugural episode, indeed.

Paper Mario's heritage still floats over The Origami King, but didn't cause writer's block with this blank page, folded upside down thanks to the fantastic imagination applied to the staging and the story, decidedly audacious. Intelligent Systems' inventiveness also deploys through the ingenious architecture of this interconnected world and the tactical dimension unrolled by the battles, that become real puzzles. Such a well hammered increase of depth doesn't give headaches though, the main quest unwrapping along the realm's spread richness, so this moustached RPG asserts itself as the undisputed lord of its very own domain.

With Fly'n, Ankama delivers a solid and accessible platformer using the classic codes of the genre. It may not revolutionize anything in that regard, but it is nonetheless highly enjoyable, affordable, and most importantly charming, blessed with spotless visuals and nice diversity.

Knights of the Round Cable is probably one of the best mobile games currently ; a simple yet completely addictive gameplay revolving around basic physics mechanics, and a perfectly well crafted touch control combined for a single purpose : getting the most gems out of a level by revolving around attach points with your little knight and his cable. Complete with in-app purchase for lazy gamers, it's one of those "Zone-Enabling" titles.

Total War Attila is a complex and challenging strategy game. It's a minor evolution of Rome II, but the campaign is rich and offers good new features. Just be careful as always : you'll need a powerful PC to play it properly.

As it was on PS4, Xbox One and PC, this collection is really cool. The fact that it's now portable thanks to the Nintendo Switch makes it even cooler, but we really miss the two Wonderboy games, that mysteriously disappeared from this Switch version.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is far more than a simple facelift applied to a beloved classic. It’s a heartfelt tribute, crafted above all for those who first explored the lands of Cyrodiil nearly twenty years ago. Virtuos and Bethesda have struck a delicate balance, modernizing the essentials without compromising the unique identity of the original. Visually, the transformation is often stunning. But behind this ambitious graphical overhaul, some technical aspects still show their age.

You do know Running-Games. It's as simple as hell : a character continually running forward, and your reflexes only to prevent him from falling into traps, holes, or any hasard coming his way. Temple Run is one of them, with an Indiana Jones take. It's a good and thrilling one, and it's still free with in-app purchases, so go get it!

A nice surprise. If you never played PC version, you can begin on PS4 now. The PS4 version is very beautiful, but the most important problem is that there is not enough game mode. We have a good free-to-play here.

With Pullblox, Intelligent Systems definitely found a clever way to create puzzles with moving blocks, and it's a joy to share these angular riddles more easily through the Miiverse on Wii U, even if there are few new ideas.

We probably have our game for the summer with Knockout City . Refreshing, invigorating, accessible and endowed with a huge potential, the title developed by Velan Studios has something to convince you, in particular thanks to a certain replayability, especially with friends. If its look will divide, the content is there : it remains to be fleshed out so as not to exceed the status of simple summer hit.

For its small price, Capsized is an honest bargain. Well executed visually, with very nice music, very few bugs, and a complete gameplay. But Alien Trap delivers the paper of a good student who lacks a little imagination.

Plagued by small but numerous issues, Enslaved still has a lot to offer... but maybe not for the full price of a new game. If you let yourself be charmed by its lush world and its well portrayed characters, you may tolerate its flaws in order to follow its narrative, and the various sequences. They are mostly enjoyable despite some loose gameplay mechanics. But for others, the frame rate issues, the terrible ending, and the lack of polish will obfuscate the qualities of the game. Once again, it seems Ninja Theory focused too much on the form and less on the substance.

This Nintendo Switch version of Layers of Fears offers new possibilities with the touch screen and the Joy-Cons and the DLC is of course included. It is also a little bit downgraded in terms of visuals, but the game is still the same: an outstanding narrative/horror adventure that you really shouldn't miss if you like the genre.

Judge Eyes / Judgement is a very nice gift from the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. Even though it may feel at first like it is only a skin based on previous Yakuza games, it feels fresh enough and brings in brand new ideas that make for a great gaming experience. We would have simply liked that its characters spent less time talking and more time kicking asses, this is where they truly shine.

Forza 5 does not really keeps all its promises (reduced content compared to Forza 4, no weather conditions, night racing or pit stops, visually downgraded compared to what we had seen at E3...), but it is still the strongest game for this Xbox One launch. A safe bet for all racing fans, they will find a great game they will play for a loooong time.

Dustforce is an elegant and demanding platformer experience for time-attack fans. You'll have to spend a while mastering the controls, especially when playing with a keyboard rather than a gamepad.

Wolfenstein : The New Order is a classic, but efficient FPS, with horrible nazis to kill during fun and brutal gunfights. But the fact it has no multiplayer mode is hard to believe in 2014, and the poor enemies' A.I. is disappointing.

Hard to find any real flaws in MotoGP 24. Milestone revises its copy and offers us what is most akin to an essential vintage for its series by correcting the main flaws pointed fingers on the previous version. The result is a game with extremely pleasant gameplay, providing very good sensations in addition to a particularly successful immersion thanks to the multitude of details and general content. Those disappointed in the past will have enough to satisfy their missed expectations in 2023.

FIFA Football is an updated FIFA 11. Is it a bad thing ? Maybe if you consider there's a FIFA 13 approaching, but this episode still remains a very good game, and, compared to previous portable versions of the franchise, it's definitely a full-fledge soccer game that works really well on the VITA, complete with online play, pro and manager modes, a large database… a very nice entry in the portable series.

NBA Jam on Wii is the remake we expected. Not amazing in terms of graphics, it still has the same 16-bit spirit. Funny, featuring various challenges, this title stands out as another good game for your evenings with friends. The single player is not left out, but obviously you will get the best part of it in multiplayer...So invite some friends and Boom Shaka Laka!
