While on the one hand we understand and appreciate Bandai Namco's decision to bring Tales of Symphonia to as many platforms as possible, in order to allow new generations to (re)discover one of the most important chapters of the franchise, on the other hand we strongly believe that such a lazy remastering is not the most effective (nor the most respectful) method to re-propose a great classic of the past and celebrate its twentieth anniversary. Except for the Switch version, which for its part can leverage portability, if you have a PlayStation 3 or in any case a gaming PC there is not a single reason why you could prefer the new remastered to the package entitled Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, which in addition to the base game also included its direct sequel. In short, this second remasterd is indicated only to anyone who does not have the aforementioned platforms and to those who wish to use them in handheld.- Everyeye.it

The new Homefront does not excel in any field, carrying the wounds of a troubled development. The gameplay is too rough, the AI unrefined, the campaign very short (unless you get involved in the tedious subquests). Legacy of Kain: Ascendance is a project defined by contradictions: ambitious in vision, inconsistent in execution. The lore is expanded with genuine generosity, the return of the original voice cast is a gift that certainly should not have been taken for granted, and the concept of exploring the era of the Imperial Kain through four distinct perspectives remains—from a narrative standpoint—the most compelling direction the series could have taken with a project of this scope. Fans of the mythology will find material well worth the wait. Yet the game built around it is imprecise where it ought to be surgical, sluggish where it strives to be dynamic, and visually uneven in ways that simply cannot be ignored. Those approaching the saga for the first time may find its standing relative to the genre's finest examples to be anything but favorable. Those returning—having grown up with Kain and Raziel and long dreamed of a new chapter in the saga—must first come to terms with the shift in genre, and there is no guarantee they will be willing to do so. Ascendance marks a step in the right direction; however, truly restoring Nosgoth to the greatness it deserves will require far more decisive strides. The future of the series remains entirely unwritten. This title merely hints at that potential, without fully proving it.- Everyeye.it

All things considered, considering the target audience of all Microids' Poirot games to date and their evolution over time, despite the quality of the writing and narrative, we can't help but consider Death on the Nile a small step backwards, or, to be more polite, at least a "stop." The weak puzzles and the artistically simple technical aspects didn't convince us. The overall experience is decent, if you lower your expectations a bit and ignore the two previous Blazing Griffin games, which, in our opinion, were a bit more complex and interesting.- Everyeye.it

Unfortunately Skull and Bones is marked by continuous qualitative fluctuations. Its open world is quite vast, but also a little empty, its pirate atmosphere is successful, but the narrative component is very uninteresting. What remains are the pleasant naval battles against other players, the collaboration between privateers in PvE, and the hopes linked to the progressive enrichment of the experience, aroused in us by the roadmap available on the official website of the game. After the remake of the first Pac-Man World, it was reasonable to assume that Bandai Namco would continue the nostalgia drive, and the forty-fifth anniversary of Pac-Man was the perfect time to re-release the second installment in the series to attract as much attention as possible. There's no denying that a certain amount of effort went into Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac, which not only revamped the game's technical features but also improved its controls, even offering some previously unseen extra content that proves useful in increasing the adventure's overall longevity. The problem is that the original game wasn't exactly the most engaging 3D platformer on the market when it was released in 2002, and the fact that this remake remains as faithful as possible to the original isn't the best business card considering 23 years have passed since then. Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac is a nostalgic journey designed for Pac-Man fans, but it doesn't pretend to match the quality of the best modern platformers out there.- Everyeye.it

Shadow Warrior 3 isn't quite the game we expected, and on balance, we feel it's a big step back from its two predecessors. Lo Wang's latest adventure is plagued by unparalleled linearity, a cumbersome presence of identical platform stages and a fair amount of technical problems that inevitably affect the gaming experience. To support Shadow Warrior 3 are exclusively the charisma of the protagonist and the frenetic and fun fighting system, although its use is limited by a poor longevity and the total absence of extras that encourage users to return to the game (such as the New Game Plus or a trivial horde mode).- Everyeye.it

Outcast A New Beginning offers sometimes interesting alien settings, the backdrops to an overall enjoyable story, albeit lacking in peaks of excellence. In addition to the technical stumbles, the game combines cutscenes and dubbing that aren't always up to par, repetitive tasks that are generally very simple in structure, as well as battles that lose their bite due to the limits of the AI that moves our opponents. Furthermore, the progression thrives on phlegmatic rhythms, which do not go well with the fun exploratory possibilities offered by the use of the jetpack. Freedom Wars Remastered should have arrived in 2025 with more content, not just a higher difficulty mode. It is not enough to debut on a home console with an improved resolution and 60fps, especially if the models remain the same that were proposed at a much lower definition and on a smaller screen. This operation seemed to us to be intended only for nostalgics or those who do not want to let the memory of Freedom Wars go into oblivion. Metal Eden is a video game about synthetic humans and robots, and in an almost meta-narrative sense, it feels cold and soulless. The pursuit of rhythmic and engaging gameplay is evident, yet another attempt to emulate the Doom formula. The experience feels repetitive and linear, less layered or challenging than it could have been. Moreover, the game even underuses its signature mechanic, the absorption of cores, which becomes quite repetitive over time. It's not a bad game, let's be clear: those who enjoy FPS challenges with "push-forward" gameplay have at least eight missions to test themselves with various weapons and a narrator with a lot to say. Ultimately, it's a shame: it could have been much more daring...- Everyeye.it

Years after the release of the previous iteration of the Monsters genre, The Dark Prince had the opportunity to modernize the historic playful formula of the spin-off and ferry it towards still unexplored lands. Despite the predictions, however, the development team seems to have almost completely given up on the idea of renewing the monster recruitment mechanics and above all the product's combat system, which appears tired and dated. Leaving aside the uncertainties of the performances, which we hope will be circumvented as soon as possible with a corrective patch, the bitterest pills are represented by the choice to make Psaro a silent protagonist and by a hasty screenplay, which in our opinion do not do justice to the dramatic story of one of the most charismatic antagonists of the entire saga. In short, the Lord of Monstrosity deserved treatment more in keeping with his worth.- Everyeye.it

The Claws of Awaji is a DLC that reflects both the strengths and weaknesses of Assassin's Creed Shadows: some narrative elements are interesting, but the story ends without much excitement, nor does it sufficiently delve into the renewed conflict between Assassins and Templars. The introduction of a new weapon for Naoe livens up the combat a bit, but the gameplay remains more or less the same: ultimately, Awaji is an island that replicates the same exploration loop as the base game on a smaller scale, without adding anything new. Downloadable for free, Bill Killem is an average shooter, but its microtransactions are not supported by a good enough gameplay.- Everyeye.it

Doom 3 makes its debut on PlayStation VR with an edition that clearly shows the signs of the years that have passed since the title's debut, as well as the effects of a rather superficial adaptation work, with repercussions especially on the playful side of the experience. Despite everything, however, Doom 3 VR Edition still proves to be an enjoyable product, largely due to the merits of the particular horrific characterization of the title, which on PSVR preserves and amplifies the effectiveness of its particular atmospheres.- Everyeye.it

Until Dawn Remake is a rather lazy remake of the now iconic PS4-era video game cult: the narrative additions appear superfluous and even anticlimactic, while the graphic modernization operation leaves itself open to too many qualitative oscillations, between excessively loaded facial expressions and still stiff animations. Playing Until Dawn today, for fans of the "teen horror" genre, still represents an interesting rediscovery, for a title that still manages to entertain thanks to the unpredictability of its narrative twists.- Everyeye.it

More of the same, a wasted opportunity for the sequel of a really good game in which players had lot of expectations.- Everyeye.it

When it comes to RPG mechanics, it's just too basic to spark interest, but it still hides some interesting ideas in the narrative and gameplay.- Everyeye.it
