Unholy’s puzzles are trivial, combat is very basic, and stealth elements are simply annoying. There’s also a seemingly tangled story which I stopped caring about after the first hour. Unholy had potential, but I feel like the developers weren’t entirely sure what kind of game they want to make and went overboard with excess ideas.- CD-Action

I didn’t expect much and I’m still disappointed. We were promised spectacular gunfights and breathtaking heists, basically an interactive gangster movie, but instead got a mediocre game with some interesting ideas (e.g. roguelike elements) that failed to outweigh dated overall design, awful AI and poor writing. The development team failed to turn Stuart Black's concept into a complete, rich, deep experience that could offer anything apart from bare frantic shootouts. What's worse, Bodycount suffers from split personality disorder – on one hand it lets you wreak impressive havoc and on the other tries to hold you back with a skillshots system that requires precision. The game also recycles a couple of sceneries, the story is nonexistent and the multiplayer mode is very modest. [October, p.70]- CD-Action

Although I’m a huge fan of shooters, I had to force myself to play Immortal: Unchained. The game clumsily tries to marry two formulas: an action game built around firearms and a soulslike. It does some things right – the atmosphere is intriguing, the dismemberment system works fine, boss encounters are done well and the character development system is solid – but it failed in the most important aspect. The story is decent but lacks a spark. Supporting characters and dialogue are flimsy and uninspired. Shooting is solid – especially the slow-mo moments – but that pretty much exhausts the topic of the core gameplay elements. I have to admit though dual wielding is fun. There are a couple of car chases that were supposed to raise your adrenaline level but their execution is poor. And there are bugs and run-of-the-mill graphics that add to the smell of low budget that hangs over The Cartel.
