CD-ActionFeb 8, 2021Commander ’85 is difficult and unfriendly, and therefore will discourage most people almost immediately. It is a great tribute to the games and movies of 1980s though, so if you’re into retro stuff, you might enjoy it. I know I did. [13/2020, p.70]

Sep 30, 2020Too unpolished to be really enjoyable.

Nov 2, 2020Commander ’85 will go down as an interesting curio that fulfil its promise and is held back by bugs and glitches. It's difficult to recommend more than maybe checking out a Let’s Play of this unsatisfying game. Commander ’85 is another example of why we sometimes should leave the past in the past.

Sep 29, 2020Commander '85 attempts to ride the wave of '80s nostalgia, but there are far more elements that play into success than the atmosphere. For those who would enjoy taking a crack at a frustratingly difficult hacking simulator backed by a rehashed storyline, Commander '85 might be for them. But for the average gamer, nostalgia isn't enough to make Commander '85 anything more than ok.
