    Whilst this Empires title deviates slightly from the standard Dynasty Warriors formula, it is still fun if you’re looking for a hack and slash game with a bit more strategy. There are issues that plague the game, especially with the use of an open world that lacks reasons to explore and the absence of same-sex marriage. Although with that said, Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires still can be interesting during the siege battles and the beautiful character customisation. At least it’s relaxing to tear a new one into the cannon fodder.

    Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires attempts to mix features introduced in Dynasty Warriors 9 with strategy elements but fails to do so due to a variety of issues, such as the low difficulty level, limited character creation options, and a generally unpolished experience. A better implementation of open-world mechanics would have done wonders to update the Empires' experience, but Omega Force decided to play it extremely safe, resulting in a game that only die-hard fans of the series will enjoy.

    Unlike Dynasty Warriors 9 released in 2018, Empires focuses mainly on free play. Battles took the form of conquering enemy fortresses – it’s a breath of fresh air, but the AI copes with this new premise poorly. The graphics are disappointing as well, but despite many flaws the game is highly addictive.

    Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires isn’t as good as the sum of its parts. Everything that’s here has been done better in the past, and I truly hope the next one is better. Still, it scratched the itch for a while.

    Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires can't make up for the shortcomings baked into the Dynasty Warriors 9 framework. Maybe Dynasty Warriors has just gone on too long; there are only so many ways to tell the same tale and upgrade the basic gameplay. Dynasty Warriors 8 understands the process, but that game came out eight years ago. Time marches on while it seems Dynasty Warriors marches backward.

    An ugly-looking, tedious, monotonous, incredibly empty game. I see no reason to shell out for it, when you can get Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires or Samurai Warriors 4: Empires.

    This game Rocks! 1 Vs. 1000 battles is so cool to see. Don't forget to get the funny DLC as well

    Tons of fun. Man this game never gets old. 95 unique characters and weapons and movesets in a beautiful world = extreme fun for 100+ hrs

The game is fun and has a meaningful game loop unlike the dull open-world one in the original DW9, worth playing if you are a long time fan and just want to do some slashing. I hope this game is capable of being a better technology basis for the next release.… Expand
