If it works don't fix it, and Forza Motorsport proves that very same philosophy can be one to follow. It may not be a turning point within the Forza franchise, but it is a damn good game that improves enough over its predecessor to certainly consider it a better game. The gameplay is impeccable and it is incredibly accessible even for those who do not play with a racing wheel, plus it most likely is the best game in Xbox from a visual standpoint. All in all, Forza Motorsport definitely becomes a must-have within Xbox's catalog.- Areajugones

This is a must-play game for all Metroidvania enthusiasts. The sequel gets rid of the problems of the first entry and manages to push further beyond all of its virtues. There's almost no flaws at all in Blasphemous 2: the game boasts incredibly addictive gameplay, fun misteries, exploration and a bearable yet challenging difficulty. It can certainly be considered amongst the best Metroidvania games of all time.- Areajugones

The restoration work on Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake stands as one of the finest seen in recent years. It serves as a homage to the original games and an enhancement and expansion of their worlds. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound achieves something extraordinarily difficult: completely honoring a classic legacy while creating something that feels completely contemporary. The Game Kitchen has demonstrated that their experience with Blasphemous translates perfectly to established franchises, creating an experience that satisfies both purists and new fans. This is not simply a good Ninja Gaiden game; it's a statement that classic franchises can evolve without losing their identity. It's the demonstration that 2D and modern are not contradictory terms, and that intelligent nostalgia can coexist with genuine innovation.- Areajugones

Hogwarts Legacy is the video game I've always dreamt of. I didn't even think something like this could be made out of the Harry Potter franchise. Avalanche has dared to create something completely new, yet at the same time, It has preserved the very essence of the source material. It is one of those entries that puts everything else in a difficult position, first because it is miles ahead of everything that has been done before and second because the video games after will have quite a tough time to match its quality. Hogwarts Legacy is the video game that Harry Potter fans deserve, and one for which I was not ready at all.- Areajugones

Super Mario RPG is a remake that follows pretty closely the original game from SNES, with its core actually holding up really well. What's interesting is that Nintendo has not only pumped up the visual aspect, but it has also introduced new elements so that it measures up to today's standards. On the not so good side of things is that some players may find Super Mario RPG exceedingly easy and kind of repetitive, but even so it remains a funny and joyful experience, and you'll love the artistic side as well as the OST.- Areajugones

Stray is a game that has surprised me both for the good and for the bad. I expected a game that simply tried to distract us from its failures with the idea that it would be enough to put us in the shoes of an adorable cat. And it has been that, but also more things: my skepticism regarding him has ended up leaving as I saw more of the world he wants to present. In the end, it's ironic that the thing I've fallen least in love with in a game about controlling a cat was, precisely, controlling a cat.- Areajugones

Children of Morta takes the mechanics from the roguelike genre but manages to craft a truly narrative experience. An unique game that offers fun gameplay mixed with an emotional story full of heart. One of the greatest surprises of 2019 so far.- Areajugones

Super Mario 3D All-Star is possibly the best compilation of platformers ever. It's obvious that Nintendo could have improved these games more, especially Super Mario 64. However, it still maintains the essence of three of the most influential titles in the videogame industry.- Areajugones

Hitman 2 manages to get back the essence of the franchise after a prior entry that left a lot of doubts. Hitman 2 is an excellent game where stealth is rewarded over wild gunfire.- Areajugones

A Plague Tale: Requiem perfectly shows how a game is supposed to improve on its predecessor: the plot is much more intense, the characters feel much more alive and the gameplay is not only polished but also feels like a perfect evolution. This IP is certainly looking very promising.- Areajugones

Death Stranding is one the best games to be found in PS4. Kojima-san delivers an open world in which we have to represent a bridge between the narrative of the game and other players in order to keep moving forward as part of a world that needs us. The game introduces characters that keep on evolving until we reach an ending for the ages through a story told like very few would be able to. Death Stranding knows how to toy with our emotions, and it manages to arise anguish, tension, solitude, sorrow, joy and provides a conclusion that completely stuns us. The end is only the beginning.- Areajugones

Salt and Sanctuary is the result of a perfect combination of the metroidvania and “souls” elements in order to create a unique, hard and satisfying 2D adventure that knows how to reward players’ skill. The Nintendo Switch version is indeed a great one.- Areajugones

Mortal Kombat 11 is a major improvement for the franchise in all of its departments. The story mode is both appealing and fun for the player, and the fights are much closer than they used to be. It is, indeed, a delightful experience for the fighting game aficionado.- Areajugones

Spyro Reignited Trilogy takes us on a trip back in time so as to not only dearly remember the original but also convince the player through new visuals and a gameplay with lots of fun. Despite the fact that the game may prove as too easy for some, and there are also several issues with the camera, it is still a great option when considering the cost and general quality of the game. Spyro is definitely back for good.- Areajugones

The addition of way too many systems as well as mechanics have caused all of the good things in Control, which are a lot, to get shadowed by other elements that are either not appropriately resolved or that do not really add to the overall value of the game. It still is a very enjoyable piece due to its gameplay as well as its visual and artistic level, but it inevitably leaves a bittersweet feeling given that it comes from Remedy Entertainment, a studio that I did not expect to leave this many unattended elements in its narrative.- Areajugones

Tarsier Studios introduces Little Nightmares 2 with kind of a continuist approach yet still managing to surprise us. The game is backed by an improved narrative, exquisite gameplay and an excellent design that, altogether, portray an experience whose only flaw is but a battle system that does not merge well with the rest of the elements in play.- Areajugones

With an overwhelming amount of new content, Super Mario Party Jamboree promises to become one of the most ambitious games in the franchise. In addition, it is a title that respectfully modifies the very essence of the saga with the aim of expanding its own limits and offering gameplay experiences never before seen in the series; thus fulfilling what anyone could expect from a Super Mario Party in 2024.- Areajugones

Konami closes off the current generation with the best entry that we have seen so far. eFootball PES 2020 possesses, undoubtetly, the most realistic gameplay ever for a football game. Unfortunately, the game still lacks the same thing as the previous entries: its game modes do not have enough depth.- Areajugones

After twenty-five years, one of the best beloved beat ’em ups of all time returns. Street of Rage 4 is a perfect continuation of the saga adapted to the current times with great gameplay, many end game incentives and a fun and frantic soundtrack. A perfect continuation for a legendary saga.- Areajugones
