    I think the game is solid, it didn't perhaps grab me as it did other people but it is definitely worthy of anyone's time who likes survival horror games. I do not think the game has such high replayability though.     Not much to add here, except that this is a perfect remake. It modernizes, reinvents and at the same time, stays very true to the source material. It doesn't feel rushed or lacking content like RE3 remake. Also, superb production values, much better writing and creepier atmosphere than the original.

    Just beautiful.

    Revisitar esse clássico foi muito gratificante, todas as mudanças foram muito bem vindas e atualizaram o game para um novo público. Muitas cenas, capazes de provocar crises de riso como o Leon pulando sobre as paredes de laser foram retiradas perpetuando um tom mais sério ao jogo. Jogabilidade perfeita, história é a mesma que conhecemos, e gráficos estonteantes

    Old man, buy without fear if you already played the original or are adventuring now. Fluid gameplay, too much narrative/voicing. Jokes at the right time with Leon's good humor. Charismatic characters, excellent gameplay. Grade 10!

    Negative point: RE4 without zombies but then it's not the fault of the remake because the original didn't have it either, it's CAPCOM's fault.

The pacing, characters, graphics, environments, plot, gameplay are all absolutely phenomenal. The game is also extremely polished and extremely well optimised. But the dumbest thing that the developers thought of doing is the **** lack of the ability to change the difficulty level up. once you change the difficulty level to easy, you will no longer be able to return the difficulty back.     This is a Huge Masterpiece! Amazing story, Godly combat, Greatly written characters. It visually looks so good! the fact that this ran 60fps on qaulity mode on ps5, shows the great optimisation. My big complaint with re2 was bad enemy/boss variety and boring sequences in some parts of the mission.     全体的に見ると割と満足したが無印の方がよかったところも何カ所かあった。レオンの動きや体術の気持ちよさや寄生体のは無印の方が好きだった。アシュリーの服装は時代的にしょうがないけど残念だった。ただQTEもだいぶ減りイライラせずにプレイできた。

    Its a resident evil game so i think some of the dialouge is intentionally corny.     When I was a kid, one way in particular that I knew I now owned a great game was that once the credits rolled, all I wanted to do was immediately start a new save file and play through it again.
    It's been a good while in my adult life since I've ever had that, and RE4 Remake is among the few in recent years that gave me that magical feeling.
    The game feels incredibly additive in a lot    When I was a kid, one way in particular that I knew I now owned a great game was that once the credits rolled, all I wanted to do was immediately start a new save file and play through it again.
    It's been a good while in my adult life since I've ever had that, and RE4 Remake is among the few in recent years that gave me that magical feeling.

    The game feels incredibly additive in a lot of ways. Never trying to replace or just be the definitive version of what many would call one of the greatest games of all time. Instead, it feels like it's tapping into something new; bringing you back to immaculately rendered versions of familiar places but flipping things on their heads. There are moments where this feels like this could be the "Master Quest" version of the 2005 original, albeit nearly 20 some years in the making.
    The step back from the campy fun of the original script is sorely missed in parts, but I really enjoyed the more nuanced and human approach to Leon as well as the supporting cast. He's now truly haunted by the events of Raccoon City, and feels like he has a genuine chip on his shoulder. When one of those classic lines comes out now it doesn't feel like just goofy fun, it feels like he's trying to put up a front; a brave face to not look like he's giving into the despair of the situation. Ashley goes on a great arc in the remake, from frightened and untrusting to headstrong and confident in herself and your duos capabilities.
    The way in which characters like Luis are expanded on was also brilliantly done. I've seen a fair share of ire directed at the way in which Ada is portrayed in the game, citing that she comes across as cold compared to the original. However I found it to be pretty faithful. It never read to me as a change in character, but perhaps a more clearly defined attempt for her to keep her personal feelings as well as Leon himself at arms length.

    One last thing I'd say is that it's one of the best "game-feel" games I've played in a long time. I had thought that The Last of Us Part II may hold on to the podium position into terms of 3rd Person Action game feel for some time. While this isn't identical and the games themselves are very different in the challenges they pose to the players, this way has a buttery smooth arcade feel to the movement and an easily learnable precision to the way in which the mechanics interact. Once you've kicked a granny Genado into a crowed a few times, you instantly start to understand the best ways to approach each group or mob. That's not to say that the game gets easier as you go. The challenges get ratcheted up at a steady but consistently fun pace from beginning to end.

    Almost perfect remake, most boss fights are equally good as OG, but mostly improved. I was missing U-3, but hopefully it's in DLC. Overall i'm very happy with the remake and wouldn't mind RE5 getting next remake, even tho i would love to have Dino Crisis remake. Dino Crisis has huge potential to be something great.

One of the best things that I like about Capcom is that they optimize their games for PC really well! In the modern AAA gaming, most of the PC ports are either broken or they suck but thankfully RE4 remake is not one of those games! The gameplay is super fun and immersive, giving Leon the ability to know parry, and yes that means even parrying a Chainsaw. Only Leon am I right?

    The only issue I had was when the rain started pouring, it would drop frames for a bit (BTW I played on PC and then again some on PS5).

    It's a great game...I have completed it 3 times now....and I have one gripe with this game that very few people seem to notice...I play on PS5 and notice very destracting texture pop ins and loading with take away the overall great experience..and capcom didn't fix it even after 4 months....

    Glad I bought the game on PS5, they ruined the Xbox Series X version. Frame rate is terrible and has screen tearing. Amazing remake.

A lot of things did change, especially the castle, but they were all risks I really think paid off.     Resident Evil 4 (2005) has been my favourite game ever since I was a child. I'd play it to completion at least once a year, usually around Christmas time, as that's when i first had it bought for me, and I've always enjoyed my playthrough.

    When Resident Evil 4 (Remake) was announced, I was both excited and anxious. My reasons for being excited are obvious but my reasons for being anxious are simply due to the quality of the Resident Evil 3 remake, which was very underwhelming. Oh, how wrong I was.

    In actual review terms and not just me mindlessly complimenting the game, I'd like to go over a few things.

    The gameplay is rather similar to RE2, RE3 and RE7 (With Shadow of Rose 3rd person mode DLC). It's a third person over the shoulder action shooter survival horror game. Throughout the game you'll be exploring different settings whilst managing your inventory and currency and gunning down any enemy hostiles that get in your way.
    There are plenty of puzzles sprinkled around the place and what I found to be great, but different from the original, are the little Merchant Side Quests you get along the way.
    Everyone always jokes about how they hate "Escort Quests" in games, despite Resident Evil 4 being one giant escort quest, although it doesn't feel like one.
    The shooting is solid for what it is, recoil and precision aiming are pretty realistic, you'll find yourself needing to re-align your shots quite frequently. Most of the time, holding down aim and just shooting wildly will simply not work.

    Story. Effectively, the Presidents Daughter has been kidnapped and you, Leon Scott Kennedy, the protagonist, have been sent to a rural village in Europe (Specifically Spain) to find her. Naturally you begin to realise that things have gotten very out of control as you traverse through the region in different settings in order to complete your mission whilst dealing with some demons of the past along the way. That's all I'd like to say on the story as to not spoil anything.

    The game looks utterly gorgeous. For me the best part of the game was being in areas in which I knew -exactly- where I was in the original and how they've managed to really bring the game into modernity. It looks amazing and I'd always get so excited walking into an area like. "Oh my god, I know exactly where I am!" But seeing it in high resolution in 60fps, it's genuinely a real feel good moment.

    What I will say is, this version of Resident Evil 4 is a bit more serious that the original. The original's dialogue is definitely a product of its time. It's a bit campy, a bit goofy at times but that was all part of the charm. Resident Evil 4 (Remake) is a lot more serious, however I'd probably say that's better. It fits the tone of the world and game better. The game is harder than the original which is a blessing and as such it should be taken a bit more seriously.
    However! Some of the more iconic lines from the original Resident Evil 4 (2005) are sprinkled through the game. If you played the original like I did, you'll 100% be smiling when you hear them, those little call backs make the game so worthwhile.

    I'd like to just briefly talk about Ashley, specifically in comparison to how she is in the original. Ashley Graham, in the Remake, is 10x more likeable than in the original. The developers must have known this. She doesn't feel as completely useless like in the original. Her dialogue is sharper, she feels a lot more like a real young woman put into a dire situation. She doesn't come across as the "Spoiled President Daughter" type, instead she feels like a real girl. Unlike the original, having Ashley with me didn't feel like a problem and I love the constant back and forth between her and Leon. So I'm glad they changed her personality and her role a little in the game.

    Overall, Resident Evil 4 Remake, for me, is a phenomenal game. Even the last section of the game which I tended to dislike in the original is just so much better. I still think Resident Evil 4 (2005) is a solid game, even by today's standards and is worth playing, but if you have to pick one or the other, pick this one.

    10/10; I'll now be playing this version once every year at Christmas. Thank you, Capcom, for remaking my favourite game of all time and turning it into a total masterpiece.    … Expand

I have very fond memories of playing the original on Wii -- motion control was the sh*t -- and was inordinately looking forward to this updated version. Graphically and aesthetically, the game is stunning: the environment is gorgeous, the lighting and score are outstanding, but... The controls have just not aged well, the voice over performances are embarrassingly bad, and the amended mechanics are barely functional. Stealth is okay (though closing in on an enemy in crouch at a snail's pace gets real old real fast), parrying works sporadically, and dodging is practically non-functional (barring the occasional QTE button prompt). Basically, RE4 looks like a next gen game, but plays, and feels, like a sorely out-of-date one. I enjoyed myself immensely for the first half (12-ish hours) of my playthrough, and then it just became a slow, frustrating slog. By the last few chapters, I really just wanted it all to end.… Expand

    Ahsley without a doubt is one of my favorite characters and I would love to please remove the recovery frames she has, because when you throw a Grenade, when you throw a blinding she lasts stunned for many seconds, also when an enemy charges her and you shoot the enemy, she falls to the ground and when she gets up she stands there for a few seconds without reacting, when you tell her to "follow you closely" she stays behind and really is not as close to you as she is supposed to be, when you tell her to move away she goes into a state called "alone" where the NPC seems to be lost and doesn't move, please guys developers remove that state, remove those recovery frames, make ahsley's AI faster and more efficient when reacting, when she is on the ground she should get up fast, run fast, crouch fast, she can move much further away when you give her the "move away" command, she can move away from end to end to make it more difficult for the cattle to abduct her.
    It would be great if ahsley could give you ammunition every so often when you are short of bullets, and when you have no more healing ahsley could give you a healing (yellow, red and green grass) so you can raise your health bar.
    One more mechanic that could be added, is that although ahsley doesn't help us in combat, she struggles to prevent them from taking her, it would be super cool if she could win the struggles, for example... while the cattle has her by the neck, she pushes him and runs away. I would like to thank you all for your attention, thank you very much for your attention, and I hope that we can all agree that you will implement all the above in ahsley through an update to make the game experience much more enjoyable. Thank you very much for your attention. I would love to see ahsley come back in a future game as an agent. it would be great to see her once again and know what happened to her and of course to play with her.     RE4 war damals der Beginn einer neuen RE Ausrichtung. Viel Aktion, weniger Horror und eine andere Kamera. Wenn ich mich jetzt recht erinnere war es auch Heller als die Vorgänger. Aber da bin ich mir nicht mehr so sicher... muss es mal wieder Spielen. Das Remake fängt viele positiven Aspekte ein. Ich liebe die Atmosphäre, das düstere und die Aktion ist nicht durchgehend, was ich auch positiv finde . Der Abschnitt mit Ashley hat mir gut gefallen. Da kam etwas Horror auf und man ist dort aufmerksam, zumindest beim ersten Mal. Das sich z.b das Uhrenrätsel auf den beiden Höheren Schwierigkeiten ändert fand ich auch gut gelöst so muss man dann doch nochmal dort durch. ;)
    Etwas wenig Rätsel wie ich finde das fand ich schade. Für mich könnten es mehr sein. Aber da gehen Meinungen auseinander. Mal schauen wie der DLC und wie der VR Modus wird. Ich bin gespannt. :)

    Ich finde das dieses Remake sehr gut geworden ist und ich kann es jeden empfehlen. Muss aber auch sagen das ist meine Meinung und nicht eure. Ich Spiele gerne RE (außer 5 und 6) und Horror Spiele . Also wer es auch gerne macht und es noch nicht hat... schlagt zu. :D    … Expand

    I would have preferred smaller maps with more meaning in them. Fewer enemies and more spooky and dangerous atmosphere. Nothing is really scary and you can easily just shoot everything, running almost like DOOM with exploding barrels picking up dropped items.

    You guys are almost there ; graphics, game-play, aesthetic, story, mechanics. Just be more serious and severe. And for cry sake, Capcom, stop it with boss that have an eye for weak parts or indestructible ones that need to be at this particular spot when you activate the switch, we done that a million times already.    … Expand

    A very successful remake. Gameplay and mechanics are good. The only problem I think is the unnecessary boss battles that increase towards the end. I finished it in 11 hours and it was fun.

    Mon avis sur cet opus de RE4 est mitigé, même s'il est globalement très positif.
    Il est bon d'un point de vue scénario et histoire, car il suit à la lettre la version originale (c'est ce qui est attendu pour un remake), mais pêche légèrement sur la partie technique.
    Je trouve les mouvements du personnage perfectibles et manquant de rythme, en clair pas au niveau de mes attentes sur PS5.

    Me gustaron mas los anteriores remakes, este tiene mas de lo malo de Resident Evil y menos de lo bueno. Tiene las físicas, movimientos, efectos de un juego de hace 10 años, es soso y aburrido. No esta tan bien optimizado como dicen. Solo veo que cambia la resolución y la iluminación que por cierto no es la gran cosa.

    The story of the game is a mediocre story, the gameplay is very enjoyable and attractive, in terms of visuals, it is equal to Cross Gen 2023 games and has a stunning visual, the main boss fights are very similar to each other. The sound design of the game is wonderful, the enemies have a good variety and only one new type of enemy has been added to the remake compared to the original version.

    Resident Evil 4 Remake not only does right by its original source of inspiration, but it also sets a high bar for what modern day remakes can be. All components of the story have been finetuned into a more well-thought out package, and that’s before mentioning the game’s full use of today’s graphical prowess to deliver a more terrifying interpretation of rural Spain. The core gameplay also retains what made it so great back in the day, but with modern amenities such as a parrying system, quick-select for weapons and the ability to run. And despite the new improvements, the increased aggressiveness of the enemies ensures that the game never feels like a cakewalk. I don’t know who still needs to be convinced at this point, but Resident Evil 4 is a masterpiece that I cannot recommend enough.
