    This is a disgrace on gaming history. Can’t believe i waste my time leveling my character for hours just for them to nerf it to the ground. They really does not want us to have fun which is the point of playing a game.

    I really regret that I bought the game! At best, good optics are presented here, but the fun of playing falls by the wayside. The loot system just sucks and the builds are all dull and slow. Blizzard, you screwed up.

    Was okay before. Really gorgeous. Game still stutters all of the time and I realized that after about level 70, the game doesn't change. There just doesn't feel like there's any incentive to keep playing. Season 1 was a ray of light, but upon realize, it's garbage. All of the things that made grinding annoying, go worse.

    The last update has made the game unplayable. Do not even think of purchasing it until this is fixed. Certain classes are now unplayable and you can forget about soloing anything unless you have 5 hours to spend and like kiteing all the time. Absolutely terrible

    Don't buy, its just another sad attempt to get your money, with scammy methods for the battlepass. Nerfs accross the board, for playtime increase, not for better gameplay, so that you buy more in their online shop.

    Now for the gameplay it seems to be the Devs don't understand how to create a game I really Dislike the fact that i can't play it offline.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is the 5th Diablo game including Diablo Immortal that came out a short while ago. I got to a reasonable level of 76 before the patch was implemented. I did enjoy the beginning of the game. The middle and towards the endgame was horrible. The main boss isn't even a prime evil. She felt more like a sub boss at best. Paragon isn't a true paragon. They should just call it max level 100. In previous titles, both D3 and Immortal, the paragon levels was separate and infinite. When you completed the season your paragon experience would transfer to your non seasonal characters. With the current play style, it's impossible. There's no pets which would make it easier to pick up gold for you. There's no set legendaries like there was in the previous 2 titles. The mount is as slow as my character. And for being an open world where they supposedly sold 10 million copies, the game always feels empty. The guild I was in no one ever talked, even though it was an option. And the people I ran with were just rude and only wanted to do the content they could do ( NM dungeons 50 ). When I was running into a real problem. I kept getting levels, but the lvls was not what I was needing. I was needing gear and aspects from legendaries which never dropped my entire playthrough. My advice for developers, if it ain't broke don't fix it. In other words reevaluate aspects of previous installments of the franchise (and not just D2) that made the game fun and work off of that.… Expand

    Despite having some moderate amount of "fun" during the beta, the full game turned out exactly as i predicted based on my experience with how modern Blizzard does video games - a polished turd. They baited the public, then balanced every last drop of fun from the game and turned it into a tedious, and ultimately pointless rat maza grind.

    No good lots, not enought stashes, I spent time checking items more than I play game, so boring. I was very excited for the game and cross platform, they said would be better with the new season but all got worse.

    We get in dungeon and I don’t even see my char, in the end we don’t even see who dealt the most damage, killed most etc. game is so dull. It can be fixed but there will be no players left till they fix. I am so sorry. I will not do the same things again and again for nothing.    … Expand

    Just as many others have already said - The game is pretty but also soulless and boring. The non-stop waves and hordes of enemies isn't fun in the slightest bit. You just mash and click buttons until the vague and mostly indistinguishable moving objects surrounding you stop moving. What's even the point of blue items? And really, even the yellow items aren't usually all that special.
    Diablo I and II were insanely fun games. There was a formula that worked so well that people literally played them for years and even decades (D2). DIII was ok-ish but everyone knew D2 was better. How can the developers at Blizzard be so obtuse? Why make moving through the game so mind numbing? Why get rid of the value of gold? Why not make yellow (and orange) items hard to find and worth it when they are? Why make enemy combat an endless, confusing button smash slog? I literally can't tell what most enemies look like or what they're even doing to me. It's just visual noise.
    Why was D2 so much better than D1? Because it was bigger and gave us more characters. Sure there was some pretty cool innovation with the gems and rune system but the basic game play didn't change.
    I feel like D4 is a pretty looking Diablo clone that got all the reasons why Diablo was so fun completely wrong. This kind of misstep would be ok if these games came out every 5 years. But to wait almost 12 years? For this? It's just flat out unacceptable.    … Expand

    I played a few hundreds of hours, gotten sorc, rogue and barb to 100. The devs absolutely dont know what they're doing. Its like D4 is a No Fun Allowed zone. Constant Nerfs to everything thats fun and nothing get buffed to compensate making builds weaker. Definitely dont reccomend

    I enjoyed the campaign even though it is really short. After level 50 the game is extremely boring…the campaign is the only thing keeping me from giving it a zero. I’m kinda over of these AAA developers rushing, what could be great games out to the public.

    The game has fundamental problems with its Dungeon System, its Inventar system end the Overall Playstyle.
    You have stats that are not useable and have no really interesting Monster/Boss mechanics except you get Oneshot.
    Years of experience from D3 and they **** it up this bad.
    To bad i cant get my money back.

I need to invest more time and effort to rebuild my character, but there is hardly any new content in the game, let alone the recurring issues.     So I have played this game on both Ethernal and Seasonal Realms to 100 on arguably one of the best classes so far - rogue. I killed Uber Lilith and did high Tier (not 100 yet) but 80+ dungeons. I did all the crafting, helltides, open world, campaign, renown farm and so on that is in the game before forming my opinion.

    Good things about the game: - In-game Music - Graphics/Visuals    So I have played this game on both Ethernal and Seasonal Realms to 100 on arguably one of the best classes so far - rogue. I killed Uber Lilith and did high Tier (not 100 yet) but 80+ dungeons. I did all the crafting, helltides, open world, campaign, renown farm and so on that is in the game before forming my opinion.

    Good things about the game:
    - In-game Music
    - Graphics/Visuals bring a new generation, but others are catching up
    - Number of buttons reduction (i.e. less potions etc.)
    and that is it.

    Bad Things is pretty much everything else. Starting with the most important the dev team is clearly corporate job people who blindly follow policies and metrics with zero novel ideas about the game. That is why they were able to destroy whatever was somewhat OK in the game before Season 1 with the crazy patch coming out. For example D4 is supposed and can work as a fairly casual game with console support where people can enjoy for a few hours a day ... and you go and nerf XP to the ground so that it takes forever to level?! Makes no logical sense. Now they backtracking with monster density improvements and etc., which will probably bring a whole other set of issues on the technical front.

    In any case looking at the core loop gameplay before the patch there was a bit more variety with the Helltide and we all had to do the Campaign, renown etc. Now it is literally Just Nightmare dungeons (same 6-8 ones as the others are horrible) on repeat. Why kill Helltide with the patch again -> makes no sense as game lacks content anyhow?

    Still, even if the game boils down to just repeating the same NM dungeons over and over a hardcore ARPG player like me can handle that. However, something destroys the fun out of this completely --- itemization and loot. Remember this game has super limited stash space where you actually have a very hard time playing with more than 2 different characters (as most stash is shared). But that aside there is an extraordinary amount of useless loot dropping that you have to vendor. However, since there is no loot filter one actually has to read through all of it and check the affixes to make sure it is in fact trash. So after EVERY dungeon, you spend about the same amount or half of it (if you are fast) reading and vendoring. And you have to be selective as remember ... the stash space. This just destroys all flow and fun of the game to the point where stuff drops and I'm not wondering if its something cool, but weather or not it is worth picking it up and reading with the super high chance it will be trash to vendor. Personally that is the main reason I also quit the game and rate it as 0/10 given that 30-50% of my gametime is devoted not to slaying monsters and playing the game, but inventory, stash and item management. Furthermore, what the devs did making ALL other content irrelevant with that patch including outside world and world bosses and helltides just shows me that they have zero idea about the direction and improvement of the game so I'm really not at all positive for the future.

    Lastly a score is also related to what the competition is offering and PoE plus Last Epoch and others are just delivering. With PoE 2 comming maybe next year and developments such as when you disconnect you come back in the same world state before, compared to Blizz devs not capable to provide a loot filter just gives me no confidence in the future of this game. Of course this is a personal opinion, but fun is really NOT the name of the game for Diablo 4 currently and in the foreseeable future.    … Expand

Only few stash tabs, camera zoomed in, no currency tab or item stacking, no loot filter, missing basic QoL, fatal itemization, bad game design, bad afixes, damage for distance, damage for vulnerable... mobile experience like, no depth, not fun to play

Nobody ask for a live service, it feel unfinished with no direction,story wise is good as usual and graphic pretty good, even with a Uber internet connection end up with rubber band in tier 4 and dying all over the place so server are bad quality for a live service. On top of all the above nerf here nerf there nerf again andI'm huge fan of Diablo franchise but this game is a disaster. I had heard something about Blizzard getting on shaky ground, but I didn't pay much attention to it as I don't have a lot of time to be an active part of the gaming community. When I saw the offer to purchase the game, it brought about sentimental feelings that it would be a worthy continuation of the second installment, although I found the price to be a bit steep, especially considering the main competitor is a free-to-play game (PoE).

    The visual aspect is of high quality, and the atmosphere is on point with great animations, etc. However, the game design feels raw, the balance is not great, and the endgame content is quite weak. It seems like the developers were rushed into releasing the game, and it ended up being unfinished. The next patch only made optimizations worse and disrupted the progression and balance. The seasonal system and battle passes are just nonsense; it's evident that the managers at Activision Blizzard are simply greedy people who sacrificed creativity for profit. This approach will only alienate the remaining loyal audience. Perhaps, this is the fate of large corporations - to become dull garbage towards the end of their life cycle.    … Expand

No matter the difficulty or hardship levelling or getting better gear for the character you were playing with, all the previous games were really fun to play.     I think I'm playing the test server of Diablo IV and it will be published in 2043, thank you for BLZ staff to let me see such an amazing script, and oh my gosh I'm so lucky to spend only $100 for the test qualification because the game's selling price will be $1000 in 2043. Now I determine to restart my POE travel, see you in 2043 great game and wish my son will love his barbarian:)

    Patch are reactionaries, and more often creates more problem than solving one,
    Seeing this im feeling as if they are out of touch with the players they are serving these games with.
    Seeing them doing this back and forth patch patch patch yet still didnt hit the bud yet, well wait on us, WAIT! yet another patch, nooo not there yet...

    I have 100level Druid, Rouge, Barbarian and 80level Necromancer. The design of endgame is really boring. Changing to the other BD really wastes my time. They just give you 32 malignant hearts for 90 days season 1 ? When they found some bug, why they can't hotfix immediately? They are meaning to extend the life of D4, but also losing a lof of players who is looking forward to playing s1.

They haven’t even given us the basic quality of life updates for the stash, map, world events, multiplayer, etc that we have asked for since day one.     Can't really even give it a decent review. After patch bombs and negative reviews on the current date of 8/8/2023 the game is still in shambles without any improvements.

    Good: - build on an epic francize with lots of lore and interesting background - classes are in a good direction but lacking in build diversity (compared to diablo 3 it is a step back) Bad: - sad writing of story,    Can't really even give it a decent review.     - 80 to 10 frame drops out of nowhere with latest drivers (not running on the best video card tbh but if it can produce a steadily 60-80 for at least 80% of the time, the drops are irregularities)
    - features feel outdated, the grinding game is too strong and no incentive to come back
    - no point in continuing because there are too many things wrong with the game

    Worst bit is that after a month of break away from the game to give it time to stop disappointing it hasn't made much progress. 1 month of no real tangible improvement in a 2 mo old game, feels abandoned by devs only to have leads come up on stage to promise things.

    I really wish the best in terms of improvements, my frustration comes from the love I have for the francize and genre.    … Expand

    And that's not    Not great, not 100% terrible. While I enjoyed the game enough to finish the story, which was in my opinion at least more engaging than the story of Diablo 3. It kind of quickly loses out for not having much useful to do, no real improvements in gear, everything feeling like a drag, and I say that as a Diablo2 enjoyer who enjoys doing the same thing over and over and over.

    And that's not to mention how broken a lot of things are in general, like resistances not even working? Several design issues that don't seem to get an improvement. Control issues for PC, and from what I hear also control issues for console. Plus a weird chatwheel which might make sense on console, but why is it in a PC-game where I should be able to bind any of my keyboard keys? The loot and crafting system and progressing to become stronger, does not feel like its really working or making an impact, it becomes a drag to continue.

    I'm not too happy losing my HC barb due to the game silently disconnecting me, where everything kept on playing almost entirely as normal, and when you realize something is slightly off, its already too late and you're dead. I'm used to HC, used to losing characters to stupid things, in PoE I've at some point had lag issues killing off a character, but at least there you notice the lag, and decide to push on anyway, and fail. I did not however decrease my score over this, its just another thing showing how broken things are... Actually kind of happy my char died so I have a reason not to play this game. That being said, I didn't play season one, I didn't play the first nerf-patch.    … Expand

    There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
