    I beat the game and didnt even know i was at end of the game, the whole thing felt like grab 2 items to open a door and a super slog of killing the same **** over and over. I wish i would of just spent my money on POE cosmetics instead of buying this game.

    The game at Launch I saw a good chance of a decent game. We are now about to go into the first Season which I love seasons in other Games. First Don't get me wrong I like a challenge in games That being said prior to season 1 damage and defense across the board are roughly cut in half for every class and skill. You would also constently get into a CC loop that you would have to wait about 6 to 12 seconds to get out of and most likely die. They decided to make you take twice the amount of damage now and do halph the damage you use to so now you have no chance of killing a group of mobs prior to getting CC'ed to death. This is punishing not enjoyable difficulty. To add insult to injury loot is a joke 99.99% of loot you get is trash and ends up selling to the vendor so there is no real gear progression. I will still play season 1 only because the battle pass with the game purchase, After that I will dedicate all my game time and money on POE which I consider to be a more complex and difficult game than D4 However it is enjoyable, rewarding, and not punishing. If you are thinking of buying this game I will tell you the story is a good story however after that the game is not worth it, I would save your money and wait tell the game is highly discounted to purchase and play the game.… Expand

    **** of a game company. Worst season 1 of a patch game. Not sure what I expected from blizzard, the betas were ok, first month after release as well, but after level 70 it's an absolute snoozefest of a game.

    Was fun, they ruined the game for me. I would recommend checking out another arpg of you want something fast paced or just not to die constantly.

    Buy diablo 2 or diablo 3 and wait for this to get to a stage in development that can pass as a beta-test! 100% not worth it at this stage and you will be disappointed of the state of the game hiding behind this AAA price tag!

    After a decent start player experience was gutted with sensless nerfs designed to sort out the utter lack of their end game testing.
    The second BG3 releases, I’m done with this game.

    Super fun until the end of the campaign. Becomes stale, and repetitive around lvl 70. Loot chase is boring. Grind to 100 is painfully slow (and recently made worse). Devs are oblivious to community feedback.

    Blizzard took everything that ARPGs did in the last decade and more or less ignored every bit of the good details. And started making their own garbage. The latest patch literally nerfed the entire game.

    This game is such a meme, That if anyone finds a broken OP build for any character. Somehow, In some sadistic blizzard style. Barbarians will get nerfed.

Season pass purchase is a big regret after the latest patch. Renown is annoying and bugged. At this point ill just stop playing the game, switch to Destiny 2 with its horrible datadisk and wait for Starfield and Baldurs Gate 3. Also im never purchasing anything again from Blizzard… Expand

    The game was ruined by updates that are only meant to make the game more of a grind and keep people playing longer artificially. All fun has been removed.

    Boring, no real content, multiplayer doesn't really exist (no matchmaking). This game is incomplete.

    Despite Diablo IV having a lot of potential, the recent pre-season 1 patch was extremely disappointing to say the least. For the primary D4 customer base, casual gamers, it was incredibly unwise to 1) make all classes weaker, 2) make all monsters stronger (already getting one shot killed by random NM monsters pre-patch), 3) make it harder to get loot/gear, 4) not fix the most apparentDespite Diablo IV having a lot of potential, the recent pre-season 1 patch was extremely disappointing to say the least. For the primary D4 customer base, casual gamers, it was incredibly unwise to 1) make all classes weaker, 2) make all monsters stronger (already getting one shot killed by random NM monsters pre-patch), 3) make it harder to get loot/gear, 4) not fix the most apparent issues (e.g. resistances, stash space, bugs, etc.), 5) "fixing" the damage bugs (that no one wanted to be fixed) that makes the game fun to play, 6) not providing enough end game content, 7) decreasing the ability to gain experience/levels (not all casual gamers have the time to grind to level 100), and 8) setting the uber unique item drop rate pretty much to 0% (increasing the drop rate will go a long ways in incentivizing players to continue playing). Diablo II was one of my all time favorite games so this recent patch/ the end game content was quite sad to see.… Expand

My main is a sorc and the end game is almost impossible so what do they do?     Save your money and wait 2 or 3 years for the game to get content. This game honestly should have waited another year to release. If you want to play it for just the story, then that's the only worthwhile thing in the game right now.

    Game was somewhat fun at launch, but was purposely made grindier by the devs. They nerfed everything across the board in a patch, so essentially I would have to play for weeks to even get back to where I was. Well, I'm done for now, until they revert or add things that would make the game fun, not grindy slogs.

    Seems like Blizzard has lost their way. The game was fun but try playing a Sorcerer/Sorceress and you will bang your head right on lilliths pegging head. Seriously save your money and play something else. It's like Blizzard and Bungie got together to find a way to share ideas of how to piss off the playerbase.

    I was so close to being able to enjoy this game, then they rug pulled with 1.1 It's an expensive game that wants you effectively "play" .... errr "work" 40 hours per week just to get anywhere. Then they want you to buy "micro" transactions which are actually horribly expensive.

    Oh.... and you won't find Diablo in this game.

    They devs are dismissive, rude and out of touch. Rod mocks anyone who is upset with the game while he continues to drive changes that result with players stampeding away angry with an empty world left behind.

    No way to communicate with players despite open world.

    No action in the action RPG.

    I had a lot of fun with this game at launch, but slowly over time patches have just made every character worse. This culminated in the patch on 7/18/2024, which effectively killed any desire to play their first season. A huge blunder, and I cannot recommend the game in its current state.

This game shipped with the math in place to allow for 35+ undecillion crits, and because it was completely untested, the developers are now having to revamp their entire stat system. Where was the testing? They let people drive a Ferrari for 6 weeks and are now giving them a golf cart and telling them it'll be "better in the long term." Start of the game brings massive lags in Town ... but we had an hand full chars with good kill speed to jump in the action and kill mass of monsters... lost my Rogue on 822 because low NM dungeons wasn't fun. Start an sorc with ice shards, much damage worse cooldowns ... bur i enjoy playing to 68 running 20+ NMThe Beta started very good, some lags in the city but that was an great job. For me it will takes months to get 100 in an season about 12 weeks means if iam finally max level and got some gear the season will end.     The latest patch is a slap in the face for all Sorcerer players. Just delete the whole class if you make it trash so no one can enjoy playing it. It was already the weakest class and now you throw it in the gutter.

    Unfortunately Blizzard is what Blizzard does and the philosophy apparently again is nerf what is fun and feels good in order to balance instead of buffing and bringing what is bad up to a level were it is good and usable as it ought to be. Games should be FUN, otherwise what is the point? Especially non pvp ones where players should be allowed to feel a bit overpowered after hours and days of leveling, grinding for optimized gear and tweaking builds.

    This all peaked with the latest 1.1 patch before season 1, which made the game almost unplayable in terms of overall feel. Especially having experienced the pre patch version.

    All classes (yes I have them all on high level) now feels very lackluster and just underwhelming.

    More or less none of the Quality of Life changes that has been begged for by the player base for a good while now were implemented.

    Frankly I no longer have much interest in playing this until this is reverted and massively fixed towards the buff side so it feels good and fun again.

    Oh and did I mention they made the entire useless grind of leveling take a LOT longer with this latest patch as well, nerfing all the experience you can gain? The game does not even really begin until you are done with the story and hit level 50. And then there are 50 additional levels to grind up that already took forever. Especially frustrating for alts after you already done it once on your main class for anyone so inclined that wants to experience everything the game has to offer...

    I'm OUT, at least until such a time as the power level of this game is back and surpassing what it was pre-season 1 and not least until Storage space and structure has been thoroughly fixed.    … Expand

    Been into the diablo series since D1 back in early 90's. This game was great in beta and even at launch regardless of the bugs and things that shouldnt of made it out of beta. But with the release of season 1 and the WORST major patch in ARPG history, i see this game becoming a cash grab and grind fest.

    After spending approximately over 2000 hours in Diablo I and over 5000 hours in Diablo II, this feels like a game made by 2 teenagers with google searches on a Friday night drinking spree. I regret buying this product and I feel scammed. Sadly I cannot sue them for this scam because I would in a heartbeat

Pre patch the game is still bad but post patch it is riddled with more bugs and just feels terrible to play. RIP blizzard. I had extremely low expectations going into d4. Looking into doing a chargeback on my bank rn

I was looking forward to hitting level 100, I had just finished a decent set of gear for my 88 barbarian. The most recent patch drastically cut down on exp gain, damage, survivability, and fun as a whole.Game was a promising base upon which to build into a masterpiece. With the most recent patch, I've lost any desire to play. I get maybe 6 hours a week to play, as I've got kids and a job. I was looking forward to hitting level 100, I had just finished a decent set of gear for my 88 barbarian. Go play the other, cheaper, and better arpgs out there and come check this game out again in a few months/years. Absolutely not worth $70 in its current state.

    Blizzard can’t help but ruin something good. This new patch prior to Season 1 just completely gutted the game to the point that I feel no reason to continue playing. If I could refund I would. All that time and money down the drain, I knew I should’ve listened to my gut on this one, but they got me again. Oh well, on to the next one.

    The game has it points, but the devs refuse to listen to the consumer..and keep making changes that create huge imbalances in the gameplay..and create a lot of feel bad moments. They've based thier development changes off of the top 1% of players and YouTube content creators..and destroyed the enjoyment of the regular and casual player.

    Played the game loved it in the beginning but the ridiculous patch right before season 1 was ridiculous! Everything seems to be worse across the bored....can't wait for Baldurs Gate 3. Long time Diablo fan since D1 and they are ruining this game for players.

    The audio and visuals for this game are top notch and the campaign was relatively enjoyable, however that's where the fun ends although I'm sure they will patch out the fun from the campaign too in an upcoming hotfix. Everything else outside the campaign is just utter broken nonsense and pretty much nothing that made all the other Diablo games enjoyable.     For gods sake they nerfed minions into ground based on lvl 25 beta feedback and then on live the minions suck ass at end game and they refuse to buff them. etc. their just idiots.

Nerfs aside (and yeah, they hurt), there is still a major issue with memory leaks and disconnects. Resistances still don't work. Skill/build diversity is a joke because you can't clear content as fast if at all. Dungeons and mobs are essentially copy pasted. There is no imagination or creative spark in the content, and their "end game" still doesn't exist. The game is just a soulless shell and it seems the dev team just doesn't care.… Expand

A dungeon crawler that feels more like a game of fetch the stones and put them on the pedestals. The dev team had years of established history with D1-D3 to work with and improve the gameplay of Diablo 4....which they did not use at all. Worked hard on a build- dont worry- thanks to some youtuber making a video about something similar- all the gear you just spent 40 hours farming is now useless- patch sorted that for you- What did the patch not sort. Loot tabs, item search, gems bags, quests that still dont let you complete them due to bugs… and so much more. Ugh. You know how many bugs I had on ff16 (cheaper) … non. Yeah I know- smaller scope in general right. But I didn't spend 100s of hours in game to have all my gear become useless, my game to shutdown or stutter every time I dodge or my time essentially being wasted on the same content thats now harder for no more reward. Real shame but I cant see myself jumping into season 1. Maybe see what the game is like when I am bored of Remnant 2 or Baldurs gate 3. Also. Final note. R.I.P barb.     The game was pretty fun up until patch 1.1. Now it feels brutal and my character doesn't feel powerful, I feel I need to run from mobs, and forget doing things like Helltides, they were already dangerous before, I can only imagine dying repeatedly and loosing cinders every time. Imho they should have buffed enemies instead of nerfing classes.

But I had hope that the fun factor would be improved as time went on. Then you drop this latest patch that really is a tone deaf response to what your players are asking for.     Patch 1.1 is just one of the worst patch in gaming history. The change for leaving dungeon from 3s to 5s says a lot on their design philosophy. Lets see how much of these change are for "longevity" of the game.

    Stay away from this game, the developer just like to roll out irresponsible patches that ruin everyone game. Imagine spending all the hours grinding your character only to wake up that your character can't even do a proper dungeon now. Focus on the wrong stuff instead of patching QOL stuff like inventory space.

    The problem with Diablo IV is something I should have expected from the beginning, and it's true for a lot of service games. The game you're enjoying can be completely ruined by patches and there's not a thing you can do about it. The most recent patch has forced me to roll back the difficulty and completely rebuild my character, because their damage output dropped by over 50%.     The gall of the developers at Blizzard now is outrageous. Save yourself the time, find something else to play. They way they dishonored their player base by literally destroying several builds and characters after 60-100+ hours, retroactively nerfing items that you farmed for, and completely breaking playstyles that existed. SAVE YOURSELF - HARD PASS.

    I really enjoyed the campaign. But the developers agenda to turn this game into a full time job, and nerfing the fun in patch 1.1 has made this game unplayable. Don't give blizzard your money, they don't respect your time.

    Honestly this game lost its appeal. It was ruined by 1.1. It's not the same old game you loved, It is a service meant to manipulate you and exploit you. The end game was lackluster at best, and the finest parts are few and likely nerfed by now.

    The Season 1 XP nerfs, patch 1.1 balance changes and the overall slow down of gameplay loop make it hard to recommend right now. The various nerfs have made non meta builds unable to compete in higher tier content, which by the developers own words should have been the opposite effect.

    There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
