    Zero – disappointed, sad that this is how I feel about the current state of D4, a highly anticipated game for myself. The "0" represents my excitement and outlook for the game after 1.1.0a patch, my lack of confidence in the team surrounding D4 at the moment. The patch was SO far removed and out of touch in nearly every way.. but it also sounds like the team is prioritizing time toZero – disappointed, sad that this is how I feel about the current state of D4, a highly anticipated game for myself. The "0" represents my excitement and outlook for the game after 1.1.0a patch, my lack of confidence in the team surrounding D4 at the moment. The patch was SO far removed and out of touch in nearly every way.. but it also sounds like the team is prioritizing time to digest/process feedback and comments? Part of me is still hopeful (copium, will always be a Diablo fan) and that this is all part of growing pains of a long-term plan to achieve balance in-game and harmony with the community, and I will return to the game if/when they do.
    Mid-review, I decided to give a score of "1" because I DID enjoy the game and believe the team is listening/communicative. But my review isn't heavily based on what I enjoyed in the past, it's weighted primarily on my outlook of the game moving forward. That said, I sincerely hope everyone still playing enjoys S1. I'll be staying updated with the game in the meantime and hope to play with y'all again one day, fingers crossed!    … Expand

    This is not your fathers Diablo.... the devs have managed to release a game that is so screwed up. Here is a brief list:
    -limited bag space, no way to increase
    -gem system is gimped -no matching system for players to work together -no chat, just canned phrases -WAY to MANY nerd knobs for your character development -essentially no end game There was a time I bought ever game from    This is not your fathers Diablo.... the devs have managed to release a game that is so screwed up.     Giving it a 1 because it was fun before patch 1.1. Players had lots of QOL requests and were told they would be implemented (gem management, ect) Instead they drop the nerf hammer on almost everything. Slow the game down, nerf damage, nerf resistances, and basically bury the Sorc class.

    Most of the reviews already said it, the game is trash in current state with possible potential in a few years if they can even save it lol. Hope Lizzard stocks crash and the investors money burns. I think theyre just trolling their customers at this point. I hope a lawsuit happens.

    I give a 3. Was good for about 3 days at the launch, then the candy shell started to melt away. What I thought was a chocolate M&M was actually just **** with a candy coating.

    The campaign writing and overall presentation are great.

    Unfortunately once you clear the main campaign it starts falling apart. The poor coding shows itself when the difficulty starts raising, not that the game really gets that hard until you start pushing nightmare dungeons but you notice bad hit detection and things like that.     The main problem with the game as I see it and the thing that killed my enjoyment of the game is that the developers dont seem to have any understanding of the player experience or what the changes they are making will mean for it. They say they want to support a wide build variety but nerf the good builds that the top 1% of players are using doing the pinnacle content of the game while ignoring completely bugged out builds or builds that are pathetic like fire sorc or summoner druid.

    They dont seem to know that logging in to find your character is now much more squishy and much less powerful when you are pushing end game content isnt something players want to experience and would turn them off.

    If this is the level of thinking the developers or their bosses are operating on for D4 it will not have a successful life cycle as the game it was sold to be. For now I am choosing to abstain from the season and don't know if I will return to eternal realm or anything else blizzard has to offer. I will definitely never spend money on a blizzard title again, they burned me too good on this one. I hated D3, D2 was a huge part of my adolescence something I cherish greatly to this day. I know no one who worked on D2 is still working for blizzard but its a shame they have no one there with any pull who understands what made D2 so incredible. It wasnt a perfect game by any means which is what makes D4 so frustrating, there was a lot of room for updates and improvements to D2 which the D4 team could have taken and run with.

    I am heartened to see the response from the community because this kind of corporate meddling for the sake of greed, this constant extraction from everything good in our lives and world for the sake of profit leaves the whole word in a rotten state. Power to the people.    … Expand

    -Simplicity- Builds look cookie cutter and they are but the paragon board post 50 adds a decent amount of complexity to builds

    Overall: Give this game 2 years and it might be good. In its current state, it is only fun for the campaign and falls off hard after. theory crafting builds is not fun due to itemization and lack of balancing from the devs.
    If you like games like diablo 4, I would recommend Path of Exile, Last Epoch, Grim Dawn, Torch Light 2, or even the previous diablo games over d4. This game needs a lot more Quality of Life, more content, and more classes    … Expand

    There is a lack of content to enjoy than games under 10 dollars that are over 10 years old.

    The collectors addition doesn’t even include the game it’s a money grab. Maybe by season 10 (like 5 years away) it might be good but I just can’t continue to play this dull and uninspiring title so disappointing.

    I had my doubts and really wish I didn’t pay the $134 Canadian for a second grade product. The collectors addition is a money grab by the developers it does not come with the game it’s sold separately and it’s too expensive.

    Plenty of mediocre content that goes stale quickly. Prioritizes quantity over quality. It's also a live service (online only/aka subscription) which limits playability and the provider (Blizzard) has not yet added any quality content. Crashes regularly on console. If a streaming service constantly crashes and has no interesting content you cancel the subscription.

    I am a level 70 Sorcerer, pre patch she was squishy, weak and made you work for your money, now she’s all of those things x10.

    I have zero interest in playing her as dying all the time compared to your Necro and Rogue mates in a dungeon becomes pretty boring pretty quickly.

    They have nerfed levelling so now it’s even harder to do alts and grind up, so I can’t even be arsed to switch.

    The different ways to grind are also pretty boring, repetitive with uninteresting dungeons and tree of whispers.

    Finally why are Elites harder and more fun to kill than the end of dungeon boss fight where they stand there like a drugged sheep getting hit, where’s the boss mechanics Blizzard?????
    So right now Blizzard, I’ve firmly put my money back in my pocket and my time into other games.    … Expand

    Solid base fight mechanics.

Auch diese, die nicht von Blizzard stammen, prägen meine Erfahrung und auch wenn Diablo 4 nach dem optischen Reinfall von Diablo 3 wieder mehr meinen persönlichen Geschmack getroffen hat und ich für mein Geld viele viele Stunden AAA Spielspaß bekommen haben, ist der Start der Saison 1 auch in Verbindung mit einem neuen absolut Irrwitzigen PatchDiablo 1, 2, 3, 4 inklusive aller Inhalte. Auch diese, die nicht von Blizzard stammen, prägen meine Erfahrung und auch wenn Diablo 4 nach dem optischen Reinfall von Diablo 3 wieder mehr meinen persönlichen Geschmack getroffen hat und ich für mein Geld viele viele Stunden AAA Spielspaß bekommen haben, ist der Start der Saison 1 auch in Verbindung mit einem neuen absolut Irrwitzigen Patch eine Ernüchterung. Einwegcharaktere, die später gelöscht werden müssen, weil der Ewige Realm überläuft und Herzen in Käfigen, die jetzt mein Inventar zu Müllen sind definitiv keine Basis für einen Battlepass oder anderweitige finanzielle Unterstützung. Das System ist grundsätzlich falsch übernommen worden und nicht mehr in die Zeit zu denken. Wieso in jeder Saison einen neuen Charakter starten, wenn es eh nur darum geht ohne Sinn und Verstand schnellstmöglich das Maximal LVL zu erreichen, um vom neuen Inhalt zu profitieren. 10-20h aufgezwungenes Monsterschlachten ohne Mehrwert, wer soll da noch langfristig Lust entwickeln.
    Das nennt man dann wohl ein Fall von Betriebsblindheit im Hause Blizzard. Die Uhr tickt jetzt das Ruder umreisen oder das ganze strandet wie Diablo 3!    … Expand

Instead of adding the endgame content with season-1 they nerfed all the classes and items while buffing all the enemies. This had the effect of exponentially slowing the leveling down to the point of removing any enjoyment. They did this on the eve of season-1 soBlizzard basically pulled a bait and switch.     Dou essa nota só pelo fato de ter conseguido chegar no nível 100 no modo hardcore em 1 mês. De resto, é tudo ruim. Sobre a season 1, primeiramente falaram que não iriam mudar as estatísticas e o progresso do jogo, mas acabaram mudando. Mexeram em tudo: itens, estatísticas, progresso, jogabilidade e nerfaram as classes, entre outras coisas (são muitas, milhares...). Alteraram 200% do jogo,Dou essa nota só pelo fato de ter conseguido chegar no nível 100 no modo hardcore em 1 mês. De resto, é tudo ruim. Sobre a season 1, primeiramente falaram que não iriam mudar as estatísticas e o progresso do jogo, mas acabaram mudando.     Unfortunately blizzard has ruined this game with ridiculous nerfs and game changes, they nerfed sorcerer which was already the weakest class in game and now it’s simply login screen fodder. They could have left the game the way it was a week ago and just done some bug fixes and released season 1 but nope they literally nuked their own game. Spend your money elsewhere.

    Latest patch destroyed the game, just to funnel people in front of the battlepass and use the malignant hearts. They effectively ruined all the characters that everyone just spent the last 2 months working on. Just to force you to make a seasonal char and buy battlepass

    Leveling: Boring and long (I don't care about story in my demon clicking game).

    Endgame: Once you finish the story and hit 50, when you have World III and higher, there's really nothing to do:

    Dungeons are extremely samey; every one of them pulls 2 or 3 events out of a pool of about 6 options, so it's not varied at all. You need special keys to play nightmare (harder) dungeons and those really only drop...in nightmare dungeons. But the ones that drop are your current level or slightly higher, so you have to take them back to a city, salvage them, and craft an actually good key.

    As an aside, the game doesn't tell you about crafting higher dungeon keys until you clear a difficulty 4 dungeon, which was frustrating when first playing, because the first key drop in a nightmare dungeon of difficulty 1, was a key for a difficulty 2 dungeon, so it seemed like progressing to actually challenging higher dungeons was going to take forever, when in reality, as mentioned above, you craft the high keys; it just felt bad to be drip fed vital info like that.

    Your other "endgame" options are: grind the same 5 Whispers wherever they spawn so you can get a box of crap from the Tree of Whispers once in a while, or only be allowed to play at scheduled times for the Helltides.

    The world bosses I've tried were actually very fun fights but the drops were not worth the time.

    Itemization:, it also manages to be bland. Dropped items have power levels that vary *wildly*, I was getting World I quality gear in World IV level 25 hard dungeons, absolute downgrades. Gems are utterly pointless because they give extremely small benefits to extremely specific circumstances.

    There's way too many random rolls on every piece of gear so 99% of the time, if the drop is even a higher ilevel than your current slot, it will be garbage because more than 1 option is bad (you can reroll one stat on an item like in D3).

    Overpower and Lucky Hit stats are unbelievably badly design.

    Some Legendary effects are impossibly rare and can be very good for some builds, but it's not like you can trade with anyone who found an item with it and doesn't want it, so good luck upgrading the slot with that trait unless you get extremely extremely lucky.

    You can't preview items on the ground so you have to pick up and look at every. Single. Drop. To decide if it's worth keeping, and enjoy that since half your inventory is taken up by gems. There's a "consumable" tab for potions but also your non-stacking dungeon keys go in there so you have to choose carrying potions or carrying keys, or be willing to dump keys on the ground if you find one you actually want to keep. There's no damn loot filter, on an ARPG that came out in 2023 and prides itself on the amount of stuff that drops, that's idiotic and shows a completely disregard for the player's enjoyment or time.

    Monsters: Bland. There's a few gems, like ones that charge you and knock you over, and being able to actually dodge hits by watching animations is actually fun, but the rest are boring and don't have the "blow up huge mobs" feel of 2 and 3. Depending on your gear bosses are either damage sponges that take so long you're bored with the fight by the time it's over, or with good gear, as inconsequential as any given normal mob.

    Unless of course it's a normal mob with Extra Health, an absolutely terrible idea because it doesn't make things *harder* or more fun, it makes them take an insanely longer time to kill and it's always worth just leaving the area when they're left and finding something else to kill. The Dodge mechanic (press space to jump towards the cursor) is useful and can make combat fun, but it seems like every boss is designed around saving it and using it for one specific attack that will absolutely blow you up if it connects.

    I keep seeing reviews calling this a new Diablo 2. I don't think these reviewers have played D2 recently if at all. There is no comparison, stop it with the "but its grimdark" crap, D2's graphics popped, D4's graphics    … Expand

    Dont waste your money on this. I probably spent 5k hours in D1-2 but here I am done with 10h.
    Was waiting for the season to drop and what happened is just beyond this comment.

That’s so far beyond unacceptable and is a direct INSULT to the consumers who bought in to play the game. They don’t seem particularly concerned about bringing most of their nerfs back in line with something that respects their players, and anything they’ve promised to do seems like it’s a good 3-6 months away at minimum. Maybe it’ll be decent to play around Christmas, so if you’re reading this around then find some more fresh reviews than mine but holy hells is it bad here in July. If you excuse me I’ll go play exoprimal now because with as little content as that game currently has I’m having more fun their by a factor of 10 after Blizzards latest fiasco.… Expand

The Devs seem more interested in nerfing fun builds than sorting the issues which i seeing plaguing online forums with server connectivity issues. It's almost as if the developers just threw together some random fetch quests and called it a day. There's no depth, no storytelling, and no sense of immersion.

    On top of that, the patch introduced a plethora of game-breaking bugs and glitches. It's mind-boggling how such critical issues made it past any sort of quality control. From crashes that force players to restart their game repeatedly to game-breaking exploits that ruin the experience for everyone, it's clear that the developers didn't bother to test this patch before releasing it. The lack of attention to detail is glaring, and it makes the game nearly unplayable.

    But the disappointment doesn't end there. Diablo IV's Season 1 patch also managed to somehow make the game's graphics worse. How is that even possible? The once impressive and atmospheric visuals have been downgraded to a point where it feels like I'm playing a game from a decade ago. The art style that initially drew players into the dark and haunting world of Diablo has been diluted, leaving behind an unremarkable and forgettable experience.

    Even the new character additions are underwhelming. Instead of bringing in unique and engaging classes to diversify gameplay, we get lackluster variations of existing ones. It's lazy and shows a complete lack of creativity on the part of the development team. Players deserved better, and this patch just feels like a cheap attempt to stretch the already thin content even further.

    Furthermore, the supposed balance changes have only made matters worse. Some classes have been nerfed to the ground, while others have been buffed to the point of being overpowered. The result is a frustrating and uneven playing experience that leaves players feeling disheartened and cheated.

    In conclusion, Diablo IV's Season 1 patch is an absolute disaster. It fails to deliver on its promises of exciting new content, introduces game-breaking bugs, downgrades the graphics, and offers lackluster character additions. As a long-time fan of the franchise, I can't help but feel betrayed by the developers' lack of respect for the players. I can only hope they learn from this colossal failure and make the necessary improvements to salvage what's left of this once-great franchise.     There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
