They kill the game very patch possible. Dont even bother do play. Anything that was bad is doubled down and anything that was remotely fun is nerfed. Leveling was slowed down, classes already gutted, itemization not addressed, endgame activities heavily nerfed.

The game is not finished. But players like me have paid for a full game. At this moment we have put a lot of hours in and the things that are actually fun are being nerfed. There are certain mechanics that are used so you lose time and new ones being implemented. I feel like an unpaid betatester. If I could I would have asked my money back.

The suits above, or whoever is in charge of making the game focused on "player engagement/playtime" has ruined the game. Slows its pacing down so you spend more time grinding away at the same content you've already experienced over and over.

They want you to spend more time leveling, playing through the story, dying over and over again to simple monsters, because forget survivability in a ARPG game, you want glass cannon! So maybe, just maybe, you'll look at the cosmetics shop and buy something because you're that bored, so its worth it for them in the end.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The only fun aspect of D4 was to level Up to 100. The END game is so terrible boring and unrewarding. Everything with this game is made Up of bad RNG mechanics. You dont get any satisfaction by grinding higher tiers in NM Dungeons, you just get random bullcraps. Dont even get me started with the helltide events. You get random stuffs that you need to look out for. So you sit there going through tons of THOUSANDS bullcrap variables , sure you get some obols you can buy RANDOM things. And worst part is that you cant even create specific dungeon Keys for your favourite Dungeons, it ALSO has to be random garbage. There isnt anything in this game that isnt lottery based , except that you can pick which lottery you wanna spend your time with. And Blizzard is purely doing what they are known for, nerfing Classes to obliteration and dosnt bat THE eyes when they see other Classes MELTING uber Lilith under 90 stupid seconds. 1: How about rewarding 1 item that your character actually could use after you finish a high end dungeon so that you actually feel rewarded. 2 : Make players to be able to PICK the exact enchants they want, and lets US atleast enchant 2 attributes. Not just 1. 3 : Let the players Craft the exact NM dungeon key they want to farm. Keep the affixes random .

4 : Helltides chest/mob buff didnt work so Up it again. 5 : Nerf all classes to barbarians level so that they All Must fight a 7 minute fight. And they have to use 1 META BUILD and there is no way around that.

Hell tides reduced drop rates on embers to trash and increased the only chest worth farmings cost by 50%

Reduced or removed over land drops.

The patch notes literally should read, we want to make this as painful and time consuming as possible and we're going to give you NOTHING to make it worth that challange we just want to artificially increase the time it takes to reach end game.

They simply could have scaled the endgame to make it more challenging but instead they want to turn a game meant to be for entertainment into a grind on par with using a giant cheese grater as a slippinslide.

That’s Blizzard. And EA. Honestly, Diablo 4 has been a disaster since it’s release. It’s only redeemable quality was it’s campaign storyline. Beyond that it’s repetitive and a miserable grind. To add insult to injury, the devs continue to shoot themselves in the feet by making the game less and less enjoyable for it’s players. Every time a strategy or dungeon or item/combo is found to work well, the devs nerf it. INSTANTLY. All because the devs want the game to be more “challenging”. Pfft. There are plenty of ways to do that without sucking the fun out of something and requiring an addition couple hundred hours of grinding to get to the same point. Furthermore, when the devs get together to talk about the game, they say they’re going to address player concerns then blatantly do the opposite in their “campfire chats”. Locked comments of course.

Regardless, the point here is, if you haven’t bought Diablo 4 yet and you’re wondering if you should? Don’t. The same $60 USD could be spent on plenty of other games that are already in better conditions AND have an even brighter future ahead of them.

I consistently wonder why I'm playing Diablo 4 when I'm playing Diablo 4.

I'm not really sure what the fix is here- maybe adding another tab for ability slots- it could add life and variety into the game, or diversifying the bosses and creating different types of missions, or community engagement like raid-style, team-requiring quests.

A world of versatility and power was suddenly replaced with stifling constraints. The once robust Necromancers, Barbarians, Rogues, Sorceresses, and Druids faced crippling nerfs that stripped them of their former glory.

No relief came from the enchantment front either. The mysterious and potent art stayed as costly as ever, draining resources without a hint of mercy. The fiery Helltides, once swift as the wind, now languished at a snail's pace, mocking the determined players with their sluggish currents.

The art of Boosting, once a glorious race to the top, was crushed under the weight of patch 1.1, now resembling an uphill battle in waist-deep snow. The once diverse gameplay was corralled into Nightmare dungeons, where other challenges were reduced to mere whispers in the wind.

Experience bonuses that were once the spoils of defeating mighty adversaries became mere crumbs, a meager 10% of their former glory. The sensation of triumphant victory against higher-level beasts was replaced with a hollow echo of what once was.

The essence of combat, the critical strikes and vulnerability damage, faced the wrath of the patch as well. Slashed by 17% and 40% respectively, they further dimmed the once blinding brilliance of the game's weapons.

Diablo 4 was not a sprint; it was a marathon. But with the arrival of Patch 1.1, the marathon had turned into an endless crawl through a desert of nerfs, each oasis of fun seemingly further away than the last.

But there was no all-powerful Avatar, no master of all classes to rise and restore balance. Instead, a call to arms echoed amongst the players: It's time to speak up, to say 'enough is enough.' It wasn't about persevering silently or accepting the nerfed world; it was about making their voices heard, about standing up for the game they loved. Because when it comes to the games we play, the hope is not just something we give ourselves. It's something we demand from those who hold the reins. This is the true essence of player pow

Not by giving you more content, but by stretching out already unfinished content and introducing patch notes that literally take out parts of the game people universally loved and introducing time wasting mechanics instead. It seems clear that blizzard rushed this beta version out early and then got way too confident with the great reviews of people who played the great first 10-20 hours of the game. Then the game that was advertised to us turned out to be unfinished and redoing the same side quests each season and losing your progress was pitched as the exciting seasonal model. Blizzard was really close to nailing this one, turns out it was designed to get you to play long enough that your refund was no longer eligible and that's it.

I won't be buying blizzard ever again and this silly review is the most I can ever do since they denied my refund requests. (I bought platinum and they even lied and said I bought it past the time for a refund, a lie and a cash grab)

I've never been this upset with a game developer and can only warn others not to buy until they fix their game.

Gameplay feels very isolated. A 'multiplayer' game that has no features to let players look for party. There isn't even a general chat channel or any social features. Clans serve as nothing more than just a chat channel. Other than occasionally running into people in the open world, it's still very much a solo game.

Further more, it is clear they shipped an incomplete beta version

Further more, it is clear they shipped an incomplete beta version looking at the numerous technical and gameplay issues and missing features that the devs say will come in a few months.

There's a persistent memory leak issue present since launch affecting even top end rigs that causes stutters that gets progressively worse as you play.

Content wise, mid and end-game is completely sparse. To artificially prolong the game's playability, they are intending to drip feed content slowly. In the mean time, to fix the lack of content, they are nerfing everything to slow down progress.

Just like Diablo 3, Diablo IV may become a decent game, but it'll take a few years for the devs to work on the game.

I feel weak, I still get one shot in nightmare dungeons. Items do not feel exciting and I am usually addicted to games like this. Dungeons have ZERO appeal. Feels like a chore and not a game, and I quit Lost Ark for those same reasons.

In D3 the items determined your build and you could easily respec abilities and paragon points. In D4, everything is backwards. The stash is too small, the dungeons are slow and tedious. Objectives and bosses are repetitive and awful. There is no party system to easily group up with strangers for adventure mode, clans are useless, not enough bosses and content for 50+. The visuals for the main story were good, but parts of the plot felt so weak. Side quests give zero xp. Overall a solid 2/5 for me.

Also PLEASE fix the golbins so they are exciting like D3 and drop good loot, portals, different types etc. Very sad. :( I want exciting loot that drops and I can just wear and easily reroll stats without wasting all my money. I don't want to stare at stats and spend so much time crafting with aspects that are lame anyway. Cube was much better.

There are developers out here that are innovating the industry on their own and a team of four freshman from ITT tech could make a better game than this is a month. It's astounding the level of con artistry we put up with as consumers.

    1. All of the Events, skills and playstyles are just reskinned from Diablo 3.

    2. The entire games design is based around being "annoying" not "difficult"

    3. Everything is meant to slow you down, not speed you up. This is antithetical to ARPG design.

    4. Half or more of the information on skills, abilities and items are bugged or simply do not do what they say.

    5. It's more repetitive than Diablo immortal. The entire arc of the game revolves around the same two things. Dungeons and World Events. Even half your quests are just generic dungeon crawls with uninspired layouts and boss mechanics.

We really should be able to sue companies for this kind of behavior.

I have no problem grinding through ranks, also no problem with elusive gear and the effort it takes to obtain it. I do have a problem with the developers constantly nerfing the ability to rank at a reasonable pace, that has become borderline unplayable at this point. They are constantly making it take longer and longer to rank and creating a very linear path for a dungeon game, I feel for all of you who has had their builds completely stomped on by the jerks at blizzard, I have deleted the game. I recently purchased this game, and let me start off by saying that even a rating of -10 is too generous for it. Considering the price tag of 100 EURO, which is no joke in today's gaming industry, I feel obligated to share my thoughts to prevent others from wasting their hard-earned money. Before I delve into the negatives, let me remind you that there is a game on Steam called Path of Exile (POE) which is not only free-to-play but also offers a better experience.

    Negatives:

Slow: The pace of the game is painfully slow, making it tedious to progress and engage with the content.
Poor quality: The overall quality of the game is subpar, resulting in a frustrating and unsatisfying experience.
Lack of excitement: The game fails to provide any thrilling or engaging moments, making it boring to play.
Useless skills: The available skills within the game are lackluster and fail to add depth or enjoyment to the gameplay.
Limited content: The game lacks a variety of enemies to fight against, leading to repetitive and monotonous gameplay.
Lack of endgame: There is no substantial endgame content to keep players engaged once they complete the main storyline.
Absence of meaningful items: The game fails to offer a rewarding loot system or meaningful items for character progression.
Unbalanced characters: The different characters available in the game feel unbalanced and offer little value in terms of gameplay variety.
Comparison to Diablo 2: The skills and gameplay mechanics in this game pale in comparison to the superior Diablo 2.
Annoying glitches and bugs: The game is plagued with numerous glitches and bugs that hinder the overall experience.
Lack of social features: The absence of a party finder and an open-world feel further dampen the multiplayer aspect of the game.
Overall disappointment: This game is simply a cringeworthy, slow, and boring experience that fails to deliver on its promises. It's hard to understand why it was released in such a state.
    Positives:

Playing POE (Path of Exile): On the bright side, there is a fantastic alternative called Path of Exile (POE), which is not only free but also offers a superior gaming experience.
In conclusion, this game was a waste of both time and money. It falls short in almost every aspect, including gameplay, content, balance, and overall enjoyment. I regret spending my hard-earned money on it, and I hope this review prevents others from making the same mistake. I sincerely hope that improvements will be made to address the numerous issues and provide a more satisfying gaming experience. As a paying customer, I would like to request a refund for this disappointing purchase.

I have put 281 hours into diablo IV according to ps5. I main a nado druid that just destroys anything in his path. I'm level 91 and I'm trying to hit 100 but I'm so bored. I must have 1000s of hours in diablo 3 and even more in diablo II LOD, maybe 1000 in d2r.

So to start, I didn't buy early access. I wanted to buy the disc version as my trust for blizzard has thinned out over the years and wanted to be able to resell my copy of the game if it turned out to be a fail.

Let's start by talking about the story. I found the story to be overhyped and nothing special. I'm not much into story based games personally, I've always been more focused on end game. However, I did enjoy god of war: ragnarok story, although I went into it knowing it's a single player game and well...it came with my ps5.

Levelling at first was fairly tolerable, as I said, I was doing all the dungeons, side quests, renown. Can't see myself doing it all again, which is a shame, because I tried levelling an alt barbarian and just couldn't stay interested. So I tried rushing the story on my barbarian, hit level 25 and found out at that point the story increases to level 35. Okay no worries, I'll just do dungeons until level 35. This was a problem, I hit level 27 and I couldn't be bothered. It's boring running dungeons over and over for the small amount of experience you get. So replaying story viable? Sure, if you're the most boring person on the planet. This will be a HUGE issue when season starts up in a couple of weeks.

So I went back to my druid to never look at my barbarian ever again. Started doing nightmare sigils again to work towards level 100. I only played 40 minutes and couldn't be bothered with it. It's boring, running the same dungeons that feel like bounties from diablo III. "Slay all enemies", "grab this item, put it in the thing and go backtrack to pick up the second one", "free all slaves", BORING.

Okay so I now need some forgotten souls, which you can only get from helltides. This is literally just killing stuff in the open world to collect tokens and click the chests. BORING.

Inventory space is tiny, there is no where near enough stash space. Forget making a alt (let alone a couple of alts), I don't have room to store all the aspects.

Build diversity, rubbish. I'd love to be some crazy were bear, tornado build that worked well in later levels. No, you must collect the tempest roar and play the only viable way that 99% of all other end game druids play.

What's with the legendaries and aspects? Wouldn't it have been better to go with what was proven to work? Uniques, set items, rune words. Where the hell are set items and rune words? Have these developers not learnt what the community finds enjoyable? So they come up with this aspect system, half of the aspects are useless.

So, basically, end game is repeating dungeons that feel like diablo III bounties and doing helltides. Both of which are boring. PvP? yeah if you find someone in those PvP zones, don't expect it to be balanced though. I don't play PvP, so it doesn't affect me, but it'll never be balanced, so why bother implementing it? It's just as bad as what brawling was in diablo III. No one cared for it.

This game is probably a good 2 years from being finished. It feels rushed out to appease investors. However, if levelling doesn't change, I don't think the game will survive half of season 1. They need to delay season 1 until they actually finish the game.

We're missing so many what the developers call "QoL" choices. These should have already been in the game. I can't save a specific build like I could in diablo III? LAZY. The only end game is dungeons and helltides? LAZY. Mount getting stuck on the smallest pebble? LAZY. No group finder? LAZY.

Giving this game a 2/10 is being generous. Almost every aspect of this game is worse than its predecessor or non existent. Only reason I have given it a 2 is because I like the paragon board, BUT they messed that up too. To respec you have to refund each and every node. Where is the mass refund option? LAZY.

If you're just looking for a game to casually slog through a mediocre story, this game is for you. If you're looking for a game with in-depth, innovative end game, stay clear from this one for at least another year or 2. Stick with diablo III or D2R and pick the game up when it's in the sales bin. The only features diablo IV has above these games are the paragon board (idea stolen from PoE) and riding around on a clunky mount.

There are no items to go after. Nothing is interesting. There is no end game meta loop in place and I'm under the impression the developers have no idea what that is. You'd think this is so game breaking they'd hotfix it. Nothing. Not even a comment.

But again, there are no items to go after. Nothing interesting that could drop other than a couple of chase items, but you have a better chance of being struck by lightning so they're effectively not in the game. No cool items around jah or ber drop levels. Like why would I log in?

Even if there were cool items like that, you can't trade them. They should have made a regular trade mode (which is what everyone wants to play whenever given the choice) and a self found mode. But they have their weird hybrid version where you can only trade rares. I dread going back to town because scanning through every rare is a tedious process. Item filters could take care of that but nope, can't have that.

Whenever fun is found in the game, they nerf it or eliminated it. They insist you play only nightmare dungeons in order to be efficient. I have no interest playing hide and seek with blocks to put on pedestals. What ever happened to just sniping elites on the way to a quick boss kill that can drop good loot. This isn't rocket science.

They have lighting in a bottle with D2 but refuse to make an actual sequel to it. Instead we get this drivel because they think their ideas are better.

The highest enjoyment you could get out of this game is staying low level, abd staying away from that atrocity they refer to as a story. It's drivel. I've seen insurance commercials with better dialogue. Not to mention boring. How did they make it boring???? They could've reskinned D3 and it would've been infinitely better. Yikes!
Maybe they'll fix these problems in an Update, but it would have to be a Major one. As is, this game is where Diablo (who isn't even in his own game) goes to Die.

Soulless, buggy, unbalanced - basically you would be better off burning 70-80 euros in your backyard. Stay away from this game.

I've tried to seeing the best out of diablo 4, but with the continuous "fixes" that were never asked for (increasing the time it takes to leave dungeon by 3 seconds to 5 seconds) and main problems of the community only addressed in words and not action I can't find myself to login and play a game that's become a job more than fun. It's already a slog to level a character but now with the xp reductions and reductions to defensive and damage pools (which damage btw will still be protiortized by players because it's multiplicative and not additive) this process now of getting a character to a point players are happy with will be excruciating. Especially for those who play casually and cant commit the 200+ hours it will now take to get just one character to level 100. They've also taken all the end game content and forcing your hand in where you can essentially play so unless your doing nightmare dungeons or helltides (which mind you helltides only happen every few hours and the best chest to open costs more now) you'll be basically wasting your time to do anything else....why should a game punish you for wanting to play other parts of the game? If you're reading this regardless of what they say season 1 will bring and help the game. It's in a sorry state right now and you may have fun at first but will be disappointed to find how much more the game could have been. Expand

Great start to what could have been a great game, all to be ruined by the first big patch for season 1.

Do. Not. Buy. Wait till this goes on sale in a few years. I very much regret my decision, especially with the new "Fun Nerf" patch where what little fun was in the game has been taken out. Blizzard continues to prove they don't care about their fans or player base. I'll be deleting this to free up space and call it a sunk cost.

There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]

Diablo is back, and taking no prisoners. The top-quality, lengthy campaign will be enough for some, while the endgame should prove a welcome obsession for others. [Issue#30, p.84]
