    I did have fun for a bit but the micro transactions and battlepass are gonna kill diablo for me. Its very clear the focus is on those, they've developed the Battlepasses and won't even have leaderboards for multiple seasons. That is insane considering the competition is literally the point of seasons. But obviously those micro transactions are the only priority to them.

    Game is a pale imitation of Diablo 3 and 2. This soulless addition to the franchise exists to line Bobby Kotiks pocket and force you to chase an exponential level grind for meager seasonal offering and no endgame whatsoever stay away!

    is a cash grab wouldn't recommend buying this game. the devs nerfed everything to the ground instead of fixing the main problems. limited stash tabs, devs are out of touch with fans, playerbase and casual players, lackluster gameplay. it gets boring after finishing the story of the game, everythings been nerfed and its not fun to play anymore.

They also added useless stats to gear that was already extremely hard to get good rolls on and the reroll mechanic is absolute crap.     >There's a specific enemy in the game that's not too common but when they appear, 9 times out of ten the enemy will be OFFSCREAN and shoot a powerful projectile at you. Yes, I'm referring to the Skeleton Corpse Bow. Given this skeletal range, I feel like this wouldn't be problem with a ZOOM OUT function but Blizzard said **** that noise".

    Bought deluxe edition, farming since day one release. Never seen an ARPG empty like this. Good OST and good open world / game design. And that’s all. Beside that everything is garbage. POE 2 will kill D4. POE actually gang bang D4. Even wolcen gang bang D4… Pathetic.

    Also Diablo Immortal thousand. In Diablo IV i've reached lv 90 then put it aside. Since lv 75 nothing to do. Nothing to aim at. I mean: it's not a bad game, but my vote it's about what it could have been after 12 years from diablo 3. I'm not complaining about hard game. This can be adjusted. But    The other games are better than this one.

    All this balancing and nerf means that the game released as a beta. example: horse, horse cosmetic and then they add teleport. and bye bye horse. (and also horse is bugged af).
    No social, no pvp event. I've been in a clan and almost never spoke. no event together.
    Blzz should have learned from diablo immortal.
    I've kept repeating same dungeons for hours from 75 to 90 without any benefit.

    I played d3 with my partner a lot, and had a bunch of fun. We tried d4 even started season 1. The game has better graphics but is worse in every way. There are no fun things to do. Outfits are boring. Customization of characters is ok. PvP is broken so not sure why they dont have more classes and wild skills that could be like fun. The game really feels like watching the 20th super heroI played d3 with my partner a lot, and had a bunch of fun. We tried d4 even started season 1. I can tell the workers are trying hard but the leadership is likely full of idiots hitting their desk and yelling. The campaign didnt give one choice even thoigh it kept alluding to you being able to make a choice. I really put so much effort into enjoying this game and making an enjoyable experience for my partner and sadly we both hated it... for the 60+ hours played, no more than 5 hours of fun. Customizing character and horse skins were about the only thing fun. Good loot is just not a thing in this game.… Expand

    I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a casual game of killing mobs of monsters for fun. I have bronchitis and was looking forward to playing a rogue again but the leveling hasn't made it very fun distraction. I finally got up to level 23 and it felt like I was still low level as I had to be careful with just the standard mobs of enemies as they level up with you. Unlocking newI wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a casual game of killing mobs of monsters for fun. Unlocking new skills isn't really exciting either. I forgot to level up multiple times as the skill s were very underwhelming to me. I had 4 skill points I used right before I quit and I felt like I was even less effective than before I used them.

    It also seems like they went backwards from Diablo 3 on many things. Diablo 3 was more dynamic in both characters and environment. Also I miss the console's inventory system. I think I'll play that instead of 4 the next time I feel like playing Diablo.    … Expand

    No Endgame like in D3 - So no Meta race:
    I played D3 for years and now - after a short breake of D4 - again, cause there is no competition. And I dont blame them for season - i know its starts new and i liked it.
    But ... THE BIG MISTAKE: You cant begin from start like in D3 and bring thinks the next few years. I want them from beginning in D4 and then something new. So there is no    No Endgame like in D3 - So no Meta race:
    I played D3 for years and now - after a short breake of D4 - again, cause there is no competition. And I dont blame them for season - i know its starts new and i liked it.

    But ... THE BIG MISTAKE:
    You cant begin from start like in D3 and bring thinks the next few years. I want them from beginning in D4 and then something new. So there is no Grift competition like in D3.     I loved the game, a master piece on day one... Nerfed soc class as much as anyone could, making new players create a new character for seasonal content, not even listening to their community... Blizzard couldn't have done a worse job honestly. So disappointed.

Blizzard is a joke. ive played d1 d2 d3 star craft 1 and star craft 2. never played WOW or overwatch. days of blizzard north are over. this is what you get when cooperate greed buys up IP and wears it like a skin mask to milk money out of sheep.     I started with sorceress at first and decided that it was a complete disappointment at level 72 and switched to Rogue. although sorceress was fun to play, the damage was seriously lacking compared to other classes. I also made rogue level 100, it was fun and i had a strong build (6,000,000 damage).. but as I progressed, I got pretty bored because I couldn't even change the build becauseI started with sorceress at first and decided that it was a complete disappointment at level 72 and switched to Rogue. although sorceress was fun to play, the damage was seriously lacking compared to other classes. I also made rogue level 100, it was fun and i had a strong build (6,000,000 damage).. but as I progressed, I got pretty bored because I couldn't even change the build because no better items were dropped between level 70 and 100, and the monster were getting stronger and stronger. That build is nerfed too.
    I was excited that season 1 would come out and I started the druid character and I really didn't like playing with such a slow character. Although I hoped that the new season will strengthen the characters, I was disappointed to see that caged hearts did not work at all. The game I gave for 90 euros and over 200 hours would have been wasted if it weren't for my friends playing with me. And my biggest problem with the game is that no matter what character I play, the character always feels the same.. Hit the basic skill, do damage with the right button, and hit 4 defensive skills. .. I don't understand the lack of skills that can be thrown into an area like acid cloud or blizzard in d3. I think, the skill cast has been removed so that the game can be played in the same way on PlayStation. I do not recommend buying the game before it drops to 20 euros.    … Expand

The patches have taken the game completely in the wrong direction to the point that it is no longer fun.     I want to start by saying I loved this game when it first dropped. I'm a huge fan of the franchise and I have been playing since Diablo 1 dropped. That being said this game is rough. With the 1.1 patch the devs rendered a character that I had spent a month on useless. Not a single person from my player list still plays this game. All have went back to games that are 10 years older. Complete waste of money on a bait and switch product.

    I still play various versions of D2:LoD and POE and have leveled at least hundreds of characters to the end game. I actually enjoy the leveling process and getting a big power spike with a new skill or item is one of the best gaming feelings. However, I couldn't level a second character (despite it being a Rogue) without it feeling like a complete chore. My first character hit level 96 (whirlwind barb) in the eternal realm and the whole thing felt like a brain dead grind after level 60ish.

    I have always set my bar low for this game despite the fact that a lot of friends had hyped it for years and the game is still worse than I expected. Not to mention it feels like any nerf/buffs made in the game are tested or creative in the way they do it. It feels like the simply look social media content and give it a (decreased damage by x%) change which nerfs the ability across all levels and not just where it was needed.

    For the game to be great imo (I am a gamer and play a lot of ARPGs) they need to stop catering to shareholders and "casual players" and start mimicking my favorite ARPG, POE. Blizz needs to replace their leadership and dev team for this IP but I have a feeling this will never happen. They've made their money through their marketing and branding and will continue to do so through over priced in-game skins and QOL features (Trust me, its coming).    … Expand

    Very boring, very very boring. But graphics are good i can say. Skills looks weak, skill tree looks weak. No dept of the game and character creation. I will try again after few years, maybe there will be any endgame content. For now, its just main story. Game for one time.

    I think it's outrageous that if I want to play single player I have to wait for some updates I don't need to connect to the server. not everyone has a few hours a day to record. I have half an hour after putting the baby to sleep to play and at this point I'm waiting 20 minutes to turn on the game.

    Diablo 4 seems like an unfinished game, with scarce content and monotonous gameplay. The only fun that was there has been nerfed by patches or hotfixes. Equipment is hard to farm, the pace of nightmare dungeons is sluggish, changing builds is difficult, and the backpack and warehouse are pitifully small. I have no idea what fun is left in this game.

    I played the main campaign to the end, and it was entertaining for the first few hours. 75% of the main campaign is just grind the same things until the end. I put the game down after i finishe dthe main campaign, i came back once to try the higher level stuff... and just uninstalled the launcher. No reason to touch it again.

Then starcraft 2 and all its expansions.... Slowly over time they shifted into microtransactions and shady business practices where the heart of the company died. Blizzard is not the same company it once was it is now just a shadow of a greedy stock market investor using strings to orchestrate a money printing method to prey on young adults and children and their parents.     I enjoyed the game quite a bit in the beginning. I liked the campaign and story, because I enjoy things like that. I found it to be very easy, but I didn't really mind.     As I continued to play, however, and especially into season one, I feel like I _want_ to    I enjoyed the game quite a bit in the beginning. I liked the campaign and story, because I enjoy things like that. I found it to be very easy, but I didn't really mind. I thought the boss mechanics were much better than Diablo 3 and the campaign in general was much better, so I took it for that.

    As I continued to play, however, and especially into season one, I feel like I _want_ to like the game a lot more than I _do_ like the game. I don't mind that the progression system isn't as ridiculous as PoE, and I don't mind that the developers are still trying to figure some balance things out. I like some of the concepts they're trying to go for, but I think the execution is very poor and feels very rushed. I also am having a harder and harder time feeling like there aren't shareholder metrics that I'm literally paying for ruining the enjoyment of my game. Things like the drop rates of items linked to arbitrary completion tiers for the season seem like a no-brainer to me, although being in the industry, it's easy to see that on the player end while it could very well have been a poor design balance decision and just a communication miss between the people putting together the season chore list and the drop tuning.

    Either way, my score has to stay pretty low because the game as it is now, including season one, has some highlights (to me): story / campaign, cut scenes, campaign bosses, _some_ mechanics, and a lot of potential, but is otherwise essentially an paid alpha / early-access and a buggy mess. Nothing is really balanced, there is _clearly_ a missing world tier past around the 85ish range, and it seems like stuff was stretched and re-worked to try to accommodate that. My guess is that originally you were supposed to go into nightmare at 40, torment at 60, and then something else at 80 that had another system / mechanic / content, which got pushed. Likely to a paid expansion /shrug but maybe just for timing.

    I will definitely play season 2 and see how it goes, but I'm really disappointed. At this time, I wouldn't recommend anyone not already invested pay for this game. I'd wait until the first expansion comes out and you can get a bundle, or we see if tuning and content get fixed with seasons 2 or 3 and play other things for now.    … Expand

In the beginning - the first week - it felt like it was going to be. I sang it's praises; I looked past the obvious flaws. I said "it just came out, they will fix it..."

    But Blizzard has.done nothing but make the game worse, week after week. It is clear to me now that this game was highly engineered/researched/developed to extract the most money out of me as possible.

    How you ask - there is no pay to win, you don't need to buy a battle pass/skin. True. But Blizz has, and.continues, to make the game increasingly frustrating/unrewarding/unfun - with the expectation that I will spend more $.

    It feels like a rug pull... and that is a big reason for the rating. 2 quick examples:

    Leveling takes FOREVER, and past lvl 55-60 it's the only thing to do. There used to be a 25% exp boost for doing more difficult dungeons. This hardly made a difference, but it was all that was left after countless nerfs made leveling to 100 insanely more difficult than it was at launch. They did this right before the 1st season: it discouraged you from leveling your non-seasonal character... But hey, there are leveling buffs in the season, so just start a new toon and level up in the season, right? Why would Blizzard do this... well you can't buy a season pass if you aren't playing in the season now can you? They broke the "eternal realm" to push people to the "seasonal" realm. Call this theory crazy, explain how it wouldn't work on you. But it WILL WORK ON SOME PEOPLE. And every $ counts. So they did it - a rug pull. Now it takes 25% longer (in just this one change) to level up.

    They also increased the amount of time it takes to teleport out of a dungeon after clearing it by a significant %. Why why why in the world would they do this? Because every second adds up, and the longer they can keep you from getting exp, the longer they can keep you in the game.... You're more likely to buy a season pass, but even if you don't they can quote higher player counts at their seasonal, sorry - quarterly profits calls. Seconds add up, and this was just the canary in the coal mine that was so blatant and on the nose. Believe that they are actively trying every possible trick in the book to do the exact same thing via other mechanics/changes/etc.

    I could go on and on, in sure others have. It would be one thing if the game just released with the problems it has. But it is much more than that - this is a rug pull. They are actively making the game worse to play, in an attempt to get more money from the players. Regardless of if it is working, or blowing up in their face -- that is what's going on.

    My wife and I both paid $90+ tax for early access. We were looking forward to playing this for 100's of hours, but we both quit - independently - before 3 weeks. She's at lvl 56, I made it to 82.

    It's not fun. On top of all the BS it is not fun, and our time is better spend on a number of better games.

    It's really sad what Blizzard did to this beloved IP. It will never be enough money for them...    … Expand

    This gets a 2 simply because it looks good. Literally its only saving grace. After getting a necromancer to somewhere in the 30's, i found myself with the same problem i had by the end of D3, falling asleep running right into an enemy group. In my eyes, gameplay consists of nothing but walking in a direction 5-10 feet, kill a group of enemies, wash, rinse, repeat 3 Trillion more times.This gets a 2 simply because it looks good.     Hundreds of hours sinked into the game, building the character, picking up every single piece of garbage drop because of the unbelievable reroll cost. working on the gears and aspects. Only to get slammed with a nerf hammer putting your build into a unplayable piece of craps. worked on another build and character for some time again, just to get another hit into ground.

    I don't understand we aren't getting any respect when we paid for the game and invested so much time just to get ripped into pieces because they can.

    For those that haven't played the game. Don't bother, it's just going to be disappointing. The game was not designed to be fun, and they're trying to take more fun away when you finally find something.

    Played to lvl 100. Then it fell off... nothing to do. No-one to play with. No end-game (unless you call Uber Lilith end-game). No trade. S1 is very very bad and the changes could have come MUCH MUCH sooner.. They say that they listen their audience but they are not. Maybe season 7 will be better.

The char growth is soooooooooooooo slow. I take almost 3/2 the time to level a char here when compared to D3. It grows boring.     Wish I could get a refund for this game. Diablo 4 offers very little in variation and gear rewards. It gets repetitive very fast and is simply not worth the pricetag of 70 Euro. This will be the last Blizzard game I'll ever buy if there within short time isn't significant improvements in gameplay.

    Great story and fun mechanics but that only lasts for about 10 hours of game play. Enjoyed running dungeons with friends. The side quests start to feel extremely tedious and the endgame content is a bit repetitive. Has such potential to be an amazing game, hopefully future content will help it meet that expectation. Fully recommend waiting for game to go on sale before buying.

    Had I reviewed this game when it came out and I was playing through the campaign it would have received a much higher score. The campaign is great and I had a lot of fun when playing through that part of the game on my initial play through. The problem is that you don’t play Diablo IV for the campaign, you play it for the seasons and the end game. Save your money and go play Path of Exile, or even Diablo III. Hopefully this game will get good someday, because the bones of a great game are there, but Blizzard is going to have to make leaps (like they did with Diablo 3) to get it to that point, and I just am not hopeful with the direction that company has been headed lately.     There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
