They essentially proved they are trying to make a loot based game without a rewarding and complex loot system, An action RPG without action, and an MMO without a strong community or social system. The lack of end game content should have been addressed with the first season update, but instead they've decided to neuter the few things that felt good in their game in favor of increasing the tediousness of basic tasks to encourage future battle pass transactions and other forms of monetization.

    ARPGs generally have depth, with content that can be fun and challenging for everyone from the weekend warrior to the hardcore completionists. instead, they've decided to make the difficulty so artificial that even their most committed core like content creators, the ones who stand to profit off of the mutual success of the game, are pointing and laughing.    … Expand

    This is the most evident display of out of touch changes I have ever witnessed in my 25+ years of gaming. I can not wait to hear the excuses for their lack of urgency. 1 hour to hotfix Shako, potential days to fix cinders. God forbid we exit a dungeon with a 3 second cast. I feel like I am taking crazy pills!

    Spent hundreds of hours carefully building a very unique character with hundreds of aspects to consider, only to have the developers reduce and skew tiny data points to the point that my barb is weaker, less of a cohesive build, and basically not fun anymore. Undo this latest patch or this game will remain uninstalled

    Don't waste your time on a game run by developers that do everything they can to extract money from you as a consumer while simultaneously going out of their way to make things unnecessarily tedious, slow, and frustrating for you as the player. I've never seen such a disconnect from developer to playerbase in my entire life.

This is fundamentally a PvE game, with PvP and grouping mechanisms being an afterthought, and you're trying to balance this around competitive gameplay when there simply is none and that is not the point - at all - of an ARPG.

    After this last patch, I just uninstalled the game, and maybe in a year or more I might check YouTube to see what the current status at that time is.

    Devs for this game must be on crack or something. Seriously, their motto is "Fun not allowed".

    One would think a game that has a cosmetic shop would put more effort in. It should translate, right? Make people love your game so they're willing to spend more money. No, they took the opposite approach. Make people take longer to play the game, make things more tedious. That should make them more likely to purchase, right? Wrong. People are quitting, and people are doing this.

    I can somewhat deal with an "MMO"ARPG that has barely any social features but patch 1.1 is the worst patch in the history of patches. The devs have no content for us so they nerfed everything to make the game slower, Friday's dumpster fire will just be 40 minutes of diablo immortal updates, and 20 minutes of them telling us they know best. Game uninstalled. Will not spend another $ on D4.

    I can't even play the game with the memory leak issues. It just constantly crashes. They have acknowledged the issue and said they might have a fix in the future....with no date. They had their first big patch, no news on it and they are taking the game in a horrible direction. Save your money, don't be a fool like me seeing the franchise name Diablo and thinking this is Blizzard North.

    Devs are either deaf or are so focused on how they think the game should play they never asked if the user will have fun with the experience. Blizz is trying to make a Loot based ARPG MMO, without rewarding loot system. An ARPG without action. A MMO without a social system. It tries to be everything, and fails on every aspect.

    As someone who has both a well geared WW or HOtA lvl100 Barb and Summoner or Boner lvl100 Necro I have had the experience of playing both; Ranged and Melee, AoE and Single Target    I Have never written a review in my life on a single game I have ever purchased, the original Diablo got me not just into the rpg genre but into gaming in general and not once have a been this disappointed.

    As someone who has both a well geared WW or HOtA lvl100 Barb and Summoner or Boner lvl100 Necro I have had the experience of playing both;

    Ranged and Melee,
    AoE and Single Target Dmg,
    High Burst and Consistent Dmg,
    Minions and No Minions builds,
    CC immune or Chain CC'd to death,
    Fast and Slow,
    Nerfed and insanely OP,

    classes simultaneously and the sad truth is I'm not even this disappointed due to the terrible state of balance or the lack of endgame content, the endless grinding of same dungeons, the horrible lack of any QOL that we have been asking for since day 1 in this game, it's knowing they did this not for the health of the game but to kill the eternal realm characters so everyone would be forced to play seasons and buy their overpriced battlepass and farm their new seasonal gems to get back the power they once had before patch 1.1 was released.

    Oh yes and I have receipts for my "conspiracy theory" as a reference here is the article stating and I quote;

    "All I know is that quest designer Madeleine James promised me some wild Diablo 4 Sorcerer builds in Season 1, and I can’t wait to see them. They rely on the new Diablo 4 Malignant Hearts, which will hopefully make up for a few of the latest patch’s rougher nerfs; my Sorceress needs a boost, okay?"

    Basically every 3 moths we'll release you a new gimmick in a season to make you feel powerful again. But you better only play seasons because if you don't guess what? back to feeling like an absolute slog to level or grind gear in the eternal realm for you. This is just 1/100 of the problems in this game and 5000 char is not enough to really say what needs to be said in this game.

Everywhere you turn in this game you are faced with an obtrusive obstacle, sometimes literal, that seeks to do nothing other than slow you down and prevent you from getting anywhere or having any fun. If you somehow find a way to play the game at a high level or a fast pace, Blizzard will stop you dead in your tracks and weaken your character with quite possibly the most reviled patching in gaming history. With constant back-tracking in dungeons, horses that forget how to gallop, literal roadblocks, LoL-inspired recall times, and just plain old damage stat reductions, Blizzard has proven nothing since launch other than that they do not understand the ARPG genre or what its fans are seeking. Or worse yet, they do know, but they don't care, because all that matters to a giant, evil corporation is profit (don't believe me? Diablo Immortal).
    If you were fortunate or intelligent enough to not entrust your money to this God-forsaken corporation to play this game, do yourself a favor and keep your credit card in your wallet until D4's absolutely dented team of developers is fired and replaced by people who actually play the game and understand the genre (and can do basic math and not release half-baked and boring itemization systems).    … Expand

    Reduce exp gain, add more walls, slow them down, make them wait longer.

    How do we make it challenging for players? Nerf class skills, nerf damage, nerf items, nerf aspects, buff monster.

I haven't been the biggest fan of D4 since the gear sucks and everything is really repetitive, but what the devs have done with this patch makes me want to delete this thing and never look back.... ESPECIALLY with BALDUR'S GATE 3 coming outI have played Diablo since it first came out on the original PlayStation 25 years ago. I can't count how many hours i have devoted to this franchise.     I played 170+hrs and never have I been so dissapointed with the new patch that nerfed sorceror even though its the weakest among all the character.

    Added a unique wand that has a very buggy interaction, can make you teleport under the ground and you wouldnt have the chance to get out unless your portal back to a town. Very dissapointing patch overall. I wouldnt recommend the game in this state.

    i have started Diablo 2, which was an amazing game for its time, when d4 released i thought the beta was a 8/10 but then when the real game came out i noticed why the game onlyl had the first 25, later 20 levels in beta. The game wasnt even finished. Multiple reported bugs in the closed beta where never fixed untill the game launched and well, random nerfs to classes because there was ai have started Diablo 2, which was an amazing game for its time, when d4 released i thought the beta was a 8/10 but then when the real game came out i noticed why the game onlyl had the first 25, later 20 levels in beta. The game wasnt even finished. Multiple reported bugs in the closed beta where never fixed untill the game launched and well, random nerfs to classes because there was a bugged mechanic and the nerf never got undone when they found out. From the testing and patching they are doing you would think you are dealing with a small indi company but fact is that Activision Blizzard is just a really bad publisher that has a horrible team running diablo 4.
    This latest patch, 1.1.0 confirmed everything i was dreading from this small indi company that they dont even test their changes on an unfinished game that is already live. At launch after a week i would give it a 5/10 over the 8.5/10 the beta content, but with no end-game and devs where they have no clue what they are doing i cannot give it more t hen 1/10 anymore and thats just because i enjoyed the first 24 hours of the game, something new and exiting but that was it.     Trending downhill fast. Instead of, oh I don't know, making improvements, the devs decided to make the gameplay experience more miserable for players. My recommendation if you are considering purchasing this game is to wait until the year 2029. You'll get a discount and hopefully the game is in a state that is fun.

They have reduced the viability of our builds in end-game content, while nerfing our only path to obtaining replacement gear. The devs are an embarrassment to the organization. They just proved they can’t logically fix content in their game. Example:

    Patch notes added new affix that increases all resistances. Resistances are still broken and they announced they are aware of this and it will be patched season 2 aka 6 months down the road. Now sorcs use int. Int increases resistance. This is broken so main stat is useless. Armor is their only survivability, that gets nerfed now sorcs are glass trash because they don’t even deal damage because that was nerfed.

    Terrible, took all of the fun aspects of Diablo 3 out. Diablo Immortal is, genuinely, a better game as of the start of the first season.

    It's unreal that blizzard could waste so much potential so quickly. Patching the game to make it worse in every way, while not addressing any of the community feedback is another example in the long and repetitive history of just how disconnected the management teams at blizzard are from their communities. It's time for new blood fire these wash up geezers.

    Game needed work, had TONS of ideas from hardcore players, streamers, and casuals that were brought forward. NOTHING was done to help fix the game or end game. They went opposite and said, "for the future". The future is over for me now. XP, DMG, SURV nerfs. MUNDANE glyph leveling, NM dungeons are worst part of the game. Helltides now a useless farm. I bet they update the gift shop though.

    Horrible patch, sorcerer nerfed to dust even though they were the weakest class already. Devs are out of touch and don't realize that making players spend more time on the game is not a good metric for evaluating the game state

    I absolutely loved this game before the Season 1 patch. It definitely has some holes in the end game, but I had faith that it would only get better moving forward. Boy was I wrong! This patch nerfed all the fun out of the game, without giving anything back. I've never seen a more out of touch development team. Nobody asked for the drastic, damaging changes, and they fixed literally nothingI absolutely loved this game before the Season 1 patch.     Well.. what can I say. I had some fun with the game for sure. The campaign experience is actually fantastic. Cutscenes, narration, character development is excellent. I also had some fun in the early stages of endgame, until I hit level 90 with my necro. I started grinding real hard and hit level 100 with ALL renown complete. What frustrates me the most is this most ridiculous loot systemWell.. what can I say. I had some fun with the game for sure. The campaign experience is actually fantastic. I started grinding real hard and hit level 100 with ALL renown complete. What frustrates me the most is this most ridiculous loot system of prodding through my inventory of rare items. Basically any unique is trash at this point and I have 3-5 copies of the same drops over and over. Uber-uniques are basically impossible to get 1 and 800,000 chance for a drop which is confusing.. Why can’t these Uber uniques have a much higher chance to drop in T70-100? What the hell is the point of T50 and above and the sigil dungeons are so bloody repetitive. Even with this new patch, the bosses are the same **** we fought in the last batch of terribly boring dungeons over and over. They also just increased the chests of mystery for 250 cinders with no better chances of higher tier loot. In addition, the drop rate for cinders is definitely less. For the most, these chests contain rares or trash legendaries to be sold to the vendors. Once you hit 100 needing mats is not necessary, just gold at this point. Then when you finally find something worthwhile, a rare item you go spend all the hard earned gold at the occultist to change one stat. I spent 20M gold rolling for crit chance on some new gloves that never rolled! I feel that this dev team doesn’t even play games. Maybe they are trying to sabotage the experience to get people to re download WOW because that one has to pay monthly sybscription. Whatever the case, the game is a disappointment to say the least. Final thoughts, play it for the campaign. Reaching level 100 isn’t worth it. Who’s playing Baldur’s Gate 3?!?!… Expand

    The game was great, WAS great, then they nerfed the Barbs.... Then they nerfed barbs again.... THEN some jackwagon in blizzard thought this season patch was a good idea?? Its alot like going to bed with a 9 inch penis and waking up with a 3 inch penis.

    I was told there would be endgame activities. There were, but they were removed by way of excessive nerfing and meddling by dickcheese sampling developers. Dickcheese is slang for smegma, which is found under unsanitary foreskin.

There is nothing meaningfully to do after story. Only grind again and again. Skill tree looks like it did youtuber kid without experiences from real RPG.     Was really looking forward to this game, pre purchased ultimate edition. Was fun till about level 70-75. And pushed to level 100 only to realise I’ve been playing end game since level 75. And all I was doing was hoping for better loot, which I didn’t really find. The loot drops are really bad. Stats on loot doesn’t match your character, like main attribute, which is will for druid. Loot for world bosses, loot from whispering tree and helltide chests is pretty bad. I was picking up sacred loot from level 65 nightmare dungeons… then they patched all the actual fun from the game. Nerfed the crap out of it. If I play this game, it’s literally for about 20mins and I’ve had enough and that was before the patch. I’m playing other games now looking for another game to get into.… Expand

    So, in a world where the community wants more content that's less grindy or repetitive, the devs enforced a patched that does exactly that.
    Now builds are playability are dictated by the buff/nerfs patches.
    I guess I can find more diversity in PoE/Last Epoch.

    This game is terrible. I don't think the develop team know how to run a Diablo game. They simply find out everything that make feel great when playing the game, like strong build, fast level up method, good farming place, and then nerf or remove them ALL.

    Do NOT buy this game for console yet if you haven’t yet. The controls are currently broken and they don’t seem to have any intention on fixing it along with obvious advantages that comes with playing with a Keyboard and Mouse instead of a controller.

    It already had horrid server connection issues prepatch even if you’re able to download at a rate over 500mbps but now instead of it happening a handful of times a day it’s now a handful of lag spikes every hour at least which doesn’t make sense with how many players are currently legitimately quitting. There is hardly any sort of real support responses on the console side of the support forums; it’s just an overwhelming amount of valid yet repeated complaints or the top 1% who still aren’t playing but occupying their time by telling everyone else how their opinions aren’t valid since their experience wasn’t affected since they already spent all day everyday since pre-release getting perfect gear and solo’ing Uber Lilith without the nerfs.

    If you really want to waste your money then buy it on PC.    … Expand

    Evidently Blizzard's primary goal is to make the least fun game of all time because that's basically what they've done with the latest patch. Any enjoyment that i was getting out of the game was killed. I seriously cannot wrap my mind around how they thought that 99% of the changes in this patch were ok. It's unbelievable.

    Was fun until they ruined every character with the huge nerfs in the newest patch. I was so excited for season 1 and they ruined it. By making my character, that I spent a lot of time on to figure out my build and getting specific items for, completely different and does way less damage and takes way more damage as well.

    There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
