    game is boring, not enough loot. No reward for all the time put into it. Idiot devs with no sense of what the community wants or just does not care. Huge letdown, game had potential but I see it falling by the wayside with far better games releasing soon.

    being nothing but a big cash grab against the players the the fact they want you to make a new character after paying for beta access and early access and putting in don't even know how many hours to reach 96 not even lvl 100 then make a new character for the season go jump off a bridge i'm done games uninstalled i quit blizzard blow me.

    As I look at my sorceress, I can't help but feel a sense of frustration creeping in. She was already facing challenges and struggling to remain relevant in the game. And now, with the recent update, she's been nerfed even further! It's disheartening to witness her power and effectiveness diminish before my eyes. I find myself wondering, why must they do this? Why make her almost useless?

    This game just keeps getting less and less fun with each patch. This most recent patch was clearly meant to force players off of the eternal realm as everything is "balanced" around the seasonal buffs. Seasonal play should not be mandatory.

    This was the worst purchase I made in my gaming history. Devs are out of touch, and wont change their minds. Stay away if u like a decent arpg like d2, grim dawn or PoE. Maybe in a year or 2 is playable, right now is a just a mes.

    I got worst experience ever in season 1 and patch before season. They nerfed all good and fun thing that was in game. I have filling that developers what to punish you for playing game in groups. Instead of creating a new content they making boring things longer. My raining grade reflects my desire to keep playing this game. I regretted that it impossible to refund season pass.     I'm a casual player and I don't really care about micromanaging my stats. This review is not 0/10 because the game failed a certain vision I had - I simply don't like it because it is boring. It feels like a walking simulator because of the low mob density. Once you reach the mob pack, it doesn't feel satisfying to kill them. I feel no sense of progress or reward when playing the game.     Worst game operations. Worst patches. Worst user-friendliness. Worst games that aren't worth your money. Why the 2 second delay in exiting a dungeon? Why the workbench out of town? None of this is about the user, it's about a bunch of crazy people making a game with crazy ideas.

    I dont like PVP and in season i have to . try many times to do the season quest in pvp area, but always i get killed by groups of Playes . so i cant go on with the season . Thanks for haveing no fun Blizzard Entertainment :(

Considering the price at which the game was sold, R$350 (which is outrageously expensive in Brazil), being constantly bombarded with the paid battle pass is frustrating. It should be separate.     I paid 150$ for the ultimate edition and the game is completely unplayable since the last patch dropped. My barb is so nerfed to the ground that the game became completely unenjoyable after investing countless hours. The developers are brain dead idiots who have no respect for our time and energy spent on the game.

    Very bad patch which makes everything worse (too many nerfs). Unbalanced characters (eg bad barb leveling and endgame). You get instantly killed sometimes (one shot) while killing normally all mobs without any problems. Playing this game does not make fun. It is frustrating and boring in the endgame.

    After 600+ hrs of playing since 2nd of June till today, I started to realize that I wasted too much time on this piece of good game. V1.1.1 creates more bugs. Thank u developers of Blizzard for persuading me to let go, so that I will have more time for other games with quality and especially endgame experience like POE. Adios!

    They literally killed a build in the middle of a season. Blizzard seems utterly uninterested in taking player feedback into account; instead, they appear to believe their alterations to the game are brilliant. These recent updates have gradually discouraged me from continuing to play this game. Farewell, Blizzard.

One for myself, my partner, and one for PS5 for cross progression and crossplay. I played the betas, I played before season 1. I thought the foundation for something great was there and I was incredibly excited. As I reached level 80 withAfter spending countless hours in the game already... I'm extremely disappointed.     Why haven't I learned? Why did I still trust blizzard? I don't know. Nostalgia? I don't know.. But I'll revisit the game in a few years and maybe it'll be alright.. But by then I'll also have PoE 2..

    What's crazy is I dropped PoE 1 for Diablo 4 thinking it was better. Gave it an honest shot and in the beginning I really did think it was better.

    Boy was I wrong.

    No end game, few and boring bosses, camera zoom, build variety, balancing, power creep, etc. Everything in previous negative reviews I agree with.    … Expand

This means running a 40 minute dungeon isn't as valuable as running 4 x 10 min dungeons. It's not supposed to be this way. We want to enjoy the challenge and be rewarded for it.
    - The story line is short and dumb.
    - Nearly every aspect of this game has some unpolished wonkiness, for instance there's no Diablo IV graphic on my OS tool bar. I don't want to buy a AAA game and see a white piece of paper as the game icon. Especially when the game crashes as much as this one.
    - The season play doesn't include new content. Season play is supposed to be a NEW season each time you play it, not the same old content that's been done before on repeat.

    While in Diablo you spend a lot of time looking at new gear, this new version tipped the balanced. You spend too much time looking at gear now with all these stupid sub divided stats. Leaving gems in to take up inventory space just to have something to fix that the community will be happy about it is an obvious play and doesn't make up for the half finished nature of the game. This isn't a Blizzard Diablo, which always has something innovative even if it doesn't work you need to try. This is a washed out version that actually makes the game crappier.     Druids should NOT have to fear getting a Barbarian Unique when it drops. if this is not a mechanic shared by all classes it should NOT exist for them, let alone takes DAYS to fix.
    I should not 'think' pushing Nightmare Sigils would give greater rewards. They do not! You can kill chaff and still get the same loot in world IV. The hardcores should NOT have had to test this for us, nor should this EVER be an issue.
    Classes should not be outright nerfed, without getting buffs to other specializations in unison. (Nerfing Whirl WInd but leaving Double Swing as a peice of trash.)
    Lilith and Mephisto are interesting for sure, but our allies (and even our own characters) are forgettable if not outright incompetent. Ex: A character blaming another for losing an important item.. when the character placing blame SHOWED THE ITEM OFF and it was taken.

    Its the same old thing with Blizzard. The game has some real promise, but as they always have recently the company likes to tell half truths, omit details, and likes to fluff up information with corpo speak that says NOTHING.

    I will say, the sound team / art team / animation team nailed it! Though, they said it was old art that inspired them.. but.. I see a WHOLE lot of Warhammer inspiration here. Which they really enjoy ripping from without giving credit. (Looking at you Frostmourne, Gorhowl.) I wish they would rip off less crappy protagonists.

    Fire the 'good guy' writers. Its been two games and only ONE good character. (Covetous Shen, the rest are ruined by Diablo 3.)
    Fire whoever decided auto attacks (melee) should suck unless you are a Sorcerer. (Even still.)
    Fire whoever thought Sorcerers don't get some Gandalf robes.. and fire them again for not letting them equip Gandalf swords. To much fancy silk, not enough homeless nerd.

    This is my last purchase from Blizzard. The good they bring always comes with SO much incompetence. Not to mention, I hate those who speak like they are 'reasonable' when you can see the slime leaking down their flesh.    … Expand

The game is an absolute husk of an arpg, It's astonishing the lack of content available. Not only that, the incentives for higher tier Nightmare Dungeon (The supposed endgame) is the the exact same as a regular dungeon..... harder content should reward better xp and loot...

    Mounting in this game feels like your horse is reattaching itself to a rubber band on the ground. It's extremely buggy, feels terrible, and there's impassible barricades around the map which force you to dismount for nothing.

    The skill/paragon trees are the most basic cookie cutter trash you'll ever see in any arpg. You are pigeon-holed into a build, forced, you're at a massive disadvantage if you "want to play how you want to play" as they originally advertised.

    Grinding renown/levels is extremely tedious with the lack of post campaign content. The constant monster density nerfs, dungeon nerfs, build nerfs, lack of changes, bugs in classes, tons of abilities not being viable in any sort of late-ish endgame is so half-baked.

    Overall the game is a spit in the face to Diablo fans, extremely half-baked for the price, teeming with bugs and a lack of quality of life any 2023 arpg should have.

    Good story, decent character customization. All of this is completely overshadowed by the lack of procedurally generated content and the intrusive level scaling. May as well remove levels from the game. This is a copy of the PC version but with worse controls. Overall I honestly think this is just a cash grab.

    This game is fun but the game is still practically unplayable on the PS5. Rubberbanding and lag is horrible right now. Blizzard needs to fix this or make the game available offline. If they do I would change the rating to a 9/10

    This game is just okay. The itemization is terrible, and worse than previous iterations of diablo. The graphics and artwork are pretty good, and return to the roots of the first two games. I played up to level 57 got bored with garbage loot, abysmal pvp, and annoying lack of build flexibility. If you try to switch up your skills to try new stuff, your character will be unplayable.

This has all the fundamental problems that D3 started off with, such as loot being too rare, potions having multiple ranks, not being able to trade loot with friends, ect. As long as my discord was still working and other internet stuff to I can be sure the problem was not on mt side, so I just lost my character couse THEIR mistake. Moreover, once you spec for this specific build, just so that you can play the game, they end up nurfing it forcing you to go back on the Internet and weigh the benefits of another build or you just have to put up with what you’ve worked to gain in the game being erased. There are some mechanics like being able to avoid attacks that I like but they could’ve been done a lot better. Anytime you get into a boss fight. The only real noticeable difference is mechanics where you have to kill side mobs that either make the boss stop doing a special attack or causing the boss to be completely invulnerable. I’m all for boss is having different phases. For this to be a AAA game my expectations were a lot higher than the game delivered on. It’s definitely not worth 70 - $100. I’m sure the game has monetization shop items and stuff where they try to milk you for more money but the game base isn’t worth this amount of money, so I’m not inclined to want to spend even more money on it. I would like a refund myself. I’ve already started playing other games and enjoy them a lot more.… Expand

    It feels like Blizzard bent me over again. The story was pretty good. The end game is a waste of time and Nightmare dungeons are lame, boring, and annoying simultaneously. Way too hard to find people to play with now that rooms don't exist. They will fix it I'm sure, but currently, I'd just wait a few seasons.

    As a new player to Diablo this was not what I expected. I didn't expect to see such a bland graphic setup which reminded me of how games looked on an early console. After playing amazing games such as God of War and Hogwarts as well as Horizon Zero Dawn, GTA, Call of Duty and others I ended up expecting similar style and graphic detail in this game. Diablo isn't that as it's an overheadAs a new player to Diablo this was not what I expected.     What we get now though is a fully connected game where you're constantly taken out of your "zone" because of the MMO elements. For example - town portal and there is some donut standing in front of the portal (it always happens). I've also then had many people just running in circles, or other banal activities. You get out into the world and as you're exploring and fighting, suddenly you'll get a bunch of other players join into your combat and kill whomever you were battling with. I do not want that. You can't interact with them, they are just ghosts interfering with your game. I appreciate some may like this, which is obviously ok. Why not provide an option to disable all the MMO stuff for those who do not want it? Other games have successfully done that. The Division I specifically didn't buy because of those elements.
    The game itself is dark, immersive, incredibly detailed and set off with a great sound stage. Every time I'm immersed and getting to really love the atmosphere I then get snapped back to some other random player doing something that's either stupid, or that interferes with my game. Had Blizzard not tried to shoehorn these MMO elements into what is essentially a single player game, then we would not be having these server connection issues. I've played more D3 in the past week or so than I can remember because I can't get into D4!!
    Couple of other minor gripes are the maps reveal too much, too quickly, which makes it hard to know where you have or have not explored. The progression seems to be a little off. I've been exploring the 1st region and trying to complete as much as I can, but I'm already at level 21 and I've read there is a cap at 50, so I'll be hitting that fairly soon.

    If you aren't bothered about the MMO integration and issues caused by that, then I'm sure you'll love this game. For me though, I'm very disappointed and most telling of how I feel about the game is last night I didn't even bother with it and launched Grim Dawn instead! If I thought I could refund it, I probably would and that makes me sad for a game I've been looking forward to for years    … Expand

If you are going to release an online only game and then not have enough servers, it is basically a scam. I cannot play the game i paid full price for. Lesson learned. Never buy blizzard. Never buy online only.

    Diablo IV, in my humble opinion, is a soulless game, as soulless as they come in 2023. With all the money grab and microtransactions that pleague most of today's games. Sadly it would have been just as bad without them. We completed the campaign, reached level 50 and now we cannot spend another minute with it. It's simply not fun and feels like doing work after we come back from work. It's crazy really. Big teams with talented developers mostly get their games wrong nowadays. Minecraft Dungeons is so much more fun for at leas three times less money and you can feel the devs had fun making the game.

    I could talk about Diablo IV in depth, but there are a lot of reviews that do, so I'm just going to keep it at that. I have as much desire to spend my evenings playing this game as I do with an average or slightly below average game.     Have thousands of hours in Path of Exile and other ARPGs, had some hopes to maybe buy this game sometime after release. And after the latest patch notes.... those hopes are gone...

    Was not that surprised after OW2 disaster tbh, hopes are gone for Blizzard in general at this point...

    I'm disappointed , this is a garbage. You dont feel any progression, killing mobs is just pressing 1 button without thinking. Repetitive quests, boring world events, very fast game, so you cannot catch the beautiful graphic deaign. Story line is boring. I am sooo dissapointed

    I would love to put hours upon hours into this amazing game, but I literally can't without constant frame drops because of the completely unnecessary forced always online functions of Diablo IV.

    They seriously need to work on these servers, but also add a offline mode like every other game that is mostly a single player experience as well.

    I have tried playing this game the past 4 weekends. Three of those, the servers have had connection issues and I have been unable to play the game. I tried refunding and Blizzard rejected the request despite me having less than 30 minutes of play time. I'm done with this company.

THE NEW PATCH? bro just delete the game out of my account and give my money back, i paid 80$ for this? i can't wait till Larian sets a new standard for every RPG game out there, i will just buy the game right now and i gonna forget about D4 for the rest of its lifetime

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The mindset of "the "game" only really starts after you've completed the campaign." is one of the dumbest takes i've seen. As I played through the campaign there were certain legendaries that I needed to complete my build to play the way I wanted too. I was lucky and got my first drop at level 28 but didn't get another legendary drop of the same aspect until I had beaten the game and reached level 60. Since the legendary aspect was on my weapon, that meant that unless I wanted to play a different build, my only option was to use this lv 28 weapon until I got a second drop, which made the game grueling to play through. Now I know that I could have just picked a different build and ran that through the campaign, but what game makes you tailer your playstyle depending on what random drops you get? Why are dedicated legendary drop sources not a thing in this game? once I beat the game and got to the "post game" that everyone said would be the best part, I just didn't care anymore. The only thing I had to look forward to being nightmare dungeons and Uber Lilith as a final "test" for my character, but since I basically needed to be level 100 to fight Uber Lillith and there was no inbetween boss, I had no drive or desire to grind my character after finishing the campaign and unlocking world tier 3. blindly playing through and grinding, hoping I got lucky, and I could get another drop to make the exact same build I am running stronger (just by having an on level legendary aspect) or that I got enough other legendries or uniques to make a different build. there was no step progression that drove me to want to play further.

    After the 1.1 update it has completely killed any desire, I had to revisit the game and start a fresh new character. Season 28 of Diablo 3 felt right, it was refreshing with the altar of rites making the grind and gameplay easier to get to max level and try out new things but dropping the 1.1 nerfs to every character just before season 1 killed the game. Now even if I wanted to come back and play my eternal realm character to finish the grind and beat Uber Lilith, I do significantly less damage, grinding XP got much harder and I get less, it takes longer to kill all the mobs and clear dungeons, I take more damage than I did before which was bad enough as it was because I was gettting 1 tapped or CC'd to death frequently enough, AND its now much harder to farm gear with the nerf to helltides. I'm sure given enough seasons, this game will get better as blizzard figures out how they want this game to be, but I really don't care about the eventual state of the game, if I wanted to play a game that got good around season 12 or 15, I would have bought the game WHEN THEY GOT TO SEASON 12 OR 15, not when it released. I also don't want to be that guy that compares Diablo to POE, but with how terrible they are handling season 1, I have to. Not only is this games post-game WAY WORSE than POE, it's not even close. Now I know POE has also had plenty of seasons and almost 10 years of development to get to where it is, but it is also a completely FTP game, not a $70 release game. It's just really disappointing, seeing how they did so well with Season 28 of Diablo 3, I was hoping they had used their 28 trial seasons there to put together a really solid season 1 of Diablo 4, but I was wrong.

    The uniques are awful. Seriously makes no sense how and why they designed uniques this way in the game. Getting a good unique in D2 was a great feeling and allowed you to trade towards a BIS item needed for your build. None of that exists in this game. The poor design on uniques means most will go straight to a vendor.

    Lastly, the last "balance" patch is a clear indication that this game is intended to become another chore simulator with time played metrics. The cash shop will no doubt start being loaded with crap to speed this process up in the near future when season 1 starts. The blizzard of old is gone and the systems implemented in this game are only intended to waste your time to make you pay like they did for Immortal. What a shame.    … Expand

    There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
