This game is great don't listen to the negatives I created this account just to say give it a try. It might have a server issue with a slower log on during really busy times but it is still great.

Too many collectibles to use 3rd party map on second device. Instead of in-game built help like a pet barking a direction to Lilith Altars.
The compare system does not compare the 1 handed weapon to 2nd handed, garbage.
The dungeons looks very similar to me.
Oh and I forget the visual effect of my friend's necromancer brown **** which covers the full screen, and could not see the bombs, so annoying and ugly.
I have enjoyed the story, worth some point. But in many ways, makes me upset to

The game is very good, its quests are original and interesting, the game has had its failures with the servers and the silver coins. but independently it is very fun, and its graphics are excellent, a whole adventure taken care of in all its details. You just need to add more classes but that can be done in the DLC

i think they could've done much better i mean it had been many years i think COD puts out a better game every year than this. it feels shallow and my god playing your character is a chore i have to use 15 skill i dont care about just to have a slightly improved chance to spam my main skill otherwise i can start the fight then wait and walk around until i have primary resource. it justi think they could've done much better i mean it had been many years i think COD puts out a better game every year than this. it feels shallow and my god playing your character is a chore i have to use 15 skill i dont care about just to have a slightly improved chance to spam my main skill otherwise i can start the fight then wait and walk around until i have primary resource. it just feels bad. also to make that all worse you deal zero **** dmg unless you ensure the enemy is "vulnerable" i HATE that i just wanna pick a certain build or element and use it and that deal dmg i dont want to run around every five seconds recasting a spell to ensure my main skill does any dmg how lame in 2023 im waiting on dmg rotations is this Final fantasy 10?? i dont even login anymore and the game has been out a week im already back on D2 and POE i pretty much paid money to run around waiting on Cooldowns so i can make the enemy vulnerable it makes every class feel clunky to play. Also, the skill tree sucks and the paragon board is bland if you dont stack dmg to vulnerable targets you deal no dmg and the gear is meh its pretty much get decent stats on any piece of gear then put a legendary aspect on it. they had so much time and all of our patience over the years just to give us this man its just bad Expand

The game does an amazing job making you feel like you're in a different world. The effort shows, its beautiful, engaging and hours of fun. My only issue was the character selection. Not having Monks or Paladins felt weird considering they have always been there. I hope they add more characters with greater diversity in play style. However, all in and all i enjoy playing.

Diablo installments have not hit the major niche of gameplay, gore, slash and loot of the genre. It took a failed mobile game for Blizzard to show us they haven't forgotten a stagnant player base with what looks and feels once again like one of their main franchises. Totally recommended.

Along with this I've been seeing complaints about level scaling, but in my opinion the scaling makes this just that much harder and makes all of it an uphill battle the whole time which I love. Though I do see why some people might not like it because it adds an extra level of difficultly. All in all this is a great foundation for what I hope because an amazing live service game. Expand

I've loved Diablo since the first one came out and sunk 1000s of hours into D3... this one has been a disappointment so far. A lot of people are complaining about the server issues, and they *are* bad, but the worst part for me is the always online features. The game can't be paused, so have fun getting murdered if you ever have to answer the door or take a phone call. There's no option for single player, so watching other PCs enter your game and so stuff you were working on for you.

Basic UI options are missing... you can't highlight items on the ground by hold Alt? Or anything?

Finally, the class balancing is garbage. Some classes run through the game, while others are a constant struggle bus.

This game will be good in like a year or two after a dozen or so patches, but at launch, it's tough to enjoy.

Long time D3 player and so much about D4 feels like a step backwards. Incredibly grindy, and it never feels like you have the upper hand. Spend 80% of the game trying not to get ohk'd by everything and not able to deal meaningful damage. Massive scaling issues as you level and the whole thing feels like running underwater. It has potential, but it just feels like Diablo 3 with a few new things at the end of the day. Feels like it's still in beta, and it feels like they knew this as well. This is a PC review, and I'm a little disappointed how 9 years of development led to this.

However, the world looks amazing. Skills do feel pretty fluid and look half-decent. The music is great. it's worth a playthrough...although I think just once. Here are the issues I had with the game.

-The Mount system is really bad, the way it moves, doesn't move, and bugs are awful.
    - Invisible walls all over the map, most notably coming out of cities.
-Massive loading lag in certain areas.
-The stash is a 4th of the size it should be. 1 character will fill up the entire thing, not well thought out for multiple characters.
    - No search in the stash which is AWFUL, you have to save up legendaries and it is so tedious to mouse over every single item to check things.
    - Resists and defenses seem to be bugged, many people reporting this. This is a HUGE problem.
    - because of the resist issues, elixirs feel pretty useless outside of the XP bonus they give
    - NM dungeons bug out and kick you out sometimes while in a party
    - Too much screen clutter during battle, sometimes you cant see enemy attacks at all. Its a bit much.
-Running to every NM dungeon feels tedious, especially with how the mounts are.
-Some dungeons are unable to be completed due to bugs of objectives.
    - Very little build diversity (so far) I went to lvl 100, and I felt pigeonholed into going into 1 or 2 builds at most. All other builds weren't just slightly worse, they were almost unplayable.
    - The UI is horrendous, it's very mobile-like, with no customization. No name or health bar above your head. No map overlay options.
    - the PC UI is clunky, the game was clearly catered towards console, PC is paying the price for it.
    - The HP bubble is very confusing with Fortiy, Shield, and Poisons. HP bar over your head would help this.
    - Almost no endgame content. It's a never-ending loop of helltides and NM dungeons. They are D3 systems renamed. There's a boss at the end, but that's it? Needs more endgame goals.
    - No leaderboards at launch, kind of odd.
    - Itemization is not as hype as they make it. It is very basic but slightly better than D3...I guess?
    - Some loot rewards just don't feel worthy enough in some parts of the game.
    - World bosses are very basic, Not a challenge in any way, shape, or form.
    - Can't block people spamming emotes, gets pretty annoying
    - objects in the open world cause you to get stuck all the time
    - The notifications for world events are basically non-existent, so you end up missing some or needing to use a website to keep track of things.
    - Quest log does not track your old quests. So at a certain point, you cannot retrace and find the ones you are missing. Many people are stuck not knowing where to go to complete these currently outside of using a website and retracing all of their steps in every zone.

Diablo 4, the highly anticipated installment in the iconic franchise, delivers a solid experience that shows promise for the future of the series. Here's why Diablo 4 deserves recognition for its notable improvements andDiablo 4, the highly anticipated installment in the iconic franchise, delivers a solid experience that shows promise for the future of the series. While it may not be without its flaws, the game manages to capture the essence of the Diablo universe and offers a satisfying journey for both new and returning players. Here's why Diablo 4 deserves recognition for its notable improvements and potential to evolve.

One of the standout aspects of Diablo 4 is its dark and atmospheric world. The game's visuals are impressive, featuring detailed environments that effectively convey the foreboding nature of Sanctuary. From eerie forests to desolate wastelands, each location feels distinct and adds depth to the overall experience. The attention to detail in the art design and atmospheric effects creates a moody ambiance that immerses players in the grim and treacherous world.

Combat in Diablo 4 is engaging and enjoyable, particularly for those who revel in hack-and-slash gameplay. The fluid animations and impactful abilities make every encounter thrilling, as you unleash devastating attacks against hordes of demons. The variety of character classes provides different playstyles to suit individual preferences, offering options for both close-quarters combat and long-range spellcasting. Although combat mechanics may not introduce groundbreaking innovations, they do stay true to the satisfying and addictive core gameplay that fans have come to expect.

Diablo 4 features an open-world design that encourages exploration and discovery. The vast landscapes are filled with dungeons, side quests, and hidden treasures, making each journey off the beaten path feel rewarding. While the open-world aspect is a departure from the linear structure of previous Diablo games, it offers a sense of freedom and adventure that breathes new life into the series. The day-night cycle and dynamic weather system add further immersion, creating a living world that evolves as you progress.

The narrative in Diablo 4 aims to delve deeper into the lore of the franchise, and while it may not be groundbreaking, it does provide an intriguing backdrop for your adventures. The storytelling is serviceable, with memorable characters and cinematic cutscenes that drive the plot forward. However, the pacing occasionally feels uneven, and the narrative fails to reach the same heights as some of its predecessors. Nonetheless, the story provides a solid foundation that sets the stage for potential expansions and future content.

Multiplayer remains a core element of the Diablo experience, and Diablo 4 embraces cooperative gameplay with open arms. Joining forces with friends or other players online enhances the fun, as you embark on epic quests together or engage in challenging group activities. The multiplayer aspect fosters a sense of camaraderie and adds longevity to the game, ensuring that the Diablo community can continue to thrive. However, Blizzard's decision to implement an always-online requirement for Diablo 4 is somewhat of a drawback that sometimes interferes and hampers the overall enjoyment of the game.

While Diablo 4 has its share of strengths, it's important to acknowledge that the game is still a work in progress. Some areas, such as itemization, endgame content, inventory management and UI customization could benefit from further refinement and expansion. Additionally, occasional technical issues and balance concerns may arise, impacting the overall experience. However, Blizzard's commitment to ongoing updates and improvements gives hope for the game's future.

In summary, Diablo 4 may not be a flawless masterpiece, but it presents a solid foundation upon which the franchise can build. With its captivating world, satisfying combat, open-world exploration, and multiplayer focus, the game offers an enjoyable experience that holds promise for the Diablo series. As updates and expansions continue to shape the game, Diablo 4 has the potential to grow into an exceptional addition to the franchise.

Everything that makes this game feel like a service makes it worse. The permanent connection to the internet, the monetization and segmentation of content by dlcs. What an incredible game we would have been able to enjoy if it hadn't been for all this.

There is an in game shop that sells cosmetics for real money, however, it is never shoved in your face and is basically hidden in the menu. Like I mentioned the store is cosmetic only so there is literally no reason why people are so upset about it.

I can't wait to play more on my days off. I have never left a review before but I felt like I had to because of all of the review bombing going on for basically no reason. In all honesty if you enjoyed Diablo II or Diablo III then I recommend Diablo IV. If you are brand new to the series I recommend the game as well since you don't really need to have played the other games to understand the story and enjoy the gameplay in this title.

The main elements of an arpg are character progression and loot. This game makes both of those things unenjoyable. I dreaded progression because I knew monsters would be absorbing more damage, and my items would become more obsolete every time I grinded to a new level. I approached this game with an open mind. I wanted to accept it for what it is and not be attached to the mechanics of other classic Diablo games. Unfortunately the game, on its own, is just a very bad player experience.

    * While graphics and audio are certainly very high-quality art and sound feels soulless as if done by someone with lots of money and a spreadsheet but who doesn't understand how to create a meaningful computer game world.
    * Absolutely horrible level-scaling. Whenever you gain a new level up every zone in the world immediately adjusts to your new level. It is a really bad experience which makes you feel like treading water instead of developing that progressively more powerful character.
    * The game mechanics feel very limited. There are only very few ways to customize a build and everything feels "on rails". After around level 30 you are just putting skills in +1% perks. Other ARPGs are lightyears ahead here.
    * Most smaller quests are just "fetch X" quests and get boring very quickly. Even the main story is barely meeting the mark.
    The other stuff:
    * Microtransactions are bad blah blah, but D4 can be played just fine without every looking at them, and they are really not the reason why this game is just not that great.

This feels more like a smaller studio trying their first stab at an ARPG, rather than an established studio making a new iteration of a (once) great franchise. Sadly, with this 4th and latest instalment, Blizzard has damaged the Diablo franchise to a point where I doubt recovery is possible.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've been a Diablo player for a long time. Actually, it was one of my first games, when as a little kid I tried unsuccessfully to defeat the first boss.

Today I am returning with hopes to Diablo 4, a game that was supposed to restore the series to its glory and at the same time keep up with the new trends. After going through the entire main story, I can't say that Diablo 4 is something groundbreaking. The whole storyline was predictable, whenever I hoped Blizzard would go some way, I was disappointed to see them take the most predictable and safe route.

    SPOILER WARNING

Act 1 is great. I won't lie, when I played it in playtests I was absolutely stoned. Plenty of threads and characters I wouldn't have suspected. A thread with Lilit's blood that is bubbling in us? Great, I really had high hopes for it. Arguing with Inarius in his temple? Wonderful, I was amused. Lorat is a great character, The Mysterious Wolf was also interesting. I did not really agree with the thread of the horadric girl, because here I was very afraid of a similar thread of a child-demon as with Leah in the Diablo 3.

However, here I understand why the first act was good. It's an act that we played in playtests, it was a huge advertisement and hope for a further plot.

Act 2 is like naruto filler for me. If it was only possible to do without it... We meet there Donan, a nice character, and his son. We quickly learn that Donan was one of those who imprisoned Astaroth, and for some reason Lilit wants to free him. I knew from the beginning that his son would become a vessel, but I prayed for some less predictable plot. It was exactly as I thought.

3 Act is average. Neither bad nor good. We find out who the man who accompanies Lilit is. Elijah, former horadric and apprentice of the Lorat. However, as a player, I didn't feel any "wow" after I discover it, just an empty character. Chasing after him, fighting him for the 6th time was a bit tedious but bearable. I looked a little hopefully at Andariel, who was supposed to be the final boss of this act. She was not.

Act 4 is two quests and that's it. The final boss is Andariel who is suddenly introduced again. It's just confusing and doesn't add anything to the plot.

5 Act is not bad. It is quite skilfully led, has interesting threads, unusual solutions ... It also has a problem. It completely misses the atmosphere of this game and is totally out of place. Dear Blizzard, if I wanted to play Sea of Thieves or see Pirates of the Caribbean, I wouldn't play diablo. The very plot of the end of Eliah's life is emotionless. I didn't feel any of the impact the game was trying to ineptly create here.

6 The act revived hope and extinguished it just as quickly. I see a lot of solutions here that could be more controversial, but how much would they add to the plot! Anyway, it's Diablo, a game about **** demons, who like who but the creators should not behave so conservatively here, and so. We got what was expected.

Plenty of threads that were introduced here could have been more developed instead of worthless ones. I know that not everyone's plot is important, but after the flop that was diablo 3, I was hoping that blizzard would really do something that would leave a storm of emotions after passing. Meanwhile, after the campaign ends, I don't feel anything. It's like I've never played this game. It's kinda unusual for me, Im the kind of person who has a big problem with emotions after the ends of games..

    END OF SPOILERS.

Not to mention the story, the game isn't great either, repetitive boss mechanics, terrible battle pass that shouldn't be in a game you're paying for anyway, microtransactions..
Diablo 4 is a child of Diablo 2 and Diablo 3, but not necessarily having the best features of its parents. So we have a medium-climate game that focuses heavily on graphics (this one is flawless!), always going back and forth (I understand why mounts were introduced ...) and striving for nothing. I miss the elements from the 3rd, such as the sets, there is no cow level, the goblins that I personally loved now are only of one type, no auction house etc...

The game has the same problem as cyberpunk. It has been well advertised, but what we get on the plate is much less delightful than what we were set for.

I remember the hyper behind Diablo 3, years ago. There was also some drama involving always online feature, servers dead and auction house. But the game was innovative, even the bad decisions bought a breeze of fresh air.

Now here comes Diablo 4. I have really expected this game, i have even pre-ordered it, something that i don't do with blizzard's games. I thought that finally blizzard learned from their mistakes and that they will finally release a complete playable game focused to offer satisfaction with new and revolutionary features, like Diablo 3 had. But i was very wrong. This is Blizzard's try to return to the roots. But not to the roots of Diablo. The innovations in this game exist in other games for decades. Most of them are half-backed, are there to be used in the marketing materials, to create the impression that this game is more sophisticated that it really is. PVP, for example, was stolen from the brilliant The Division, with extractions and rogue agents. Other "innovations" are the opposite of what Diablo should have been. The open world is in fact a repetitive map with assets randomly placed, it is exactly the same on all areas the only difference being the textures. And what is worst, it is not procedurally generated, it is the same map over and over again.

Another thing that i hate is the way that blizzard made the gear design, it looks awful, except the paid gear. All the gear that it's free is garbage, looks terrible, for all classes, i am almost sure that they have done this on purpose to make players buy their overpriced skins. I have never ever saw in any game such a bunch of ugly looking characters... I mean, the NPC's have some cool armours and YOU are dressed in rugs.

The class building is very straight forward, you can only make a few build. Is more Diablo 2 than D3 which is a step backwards.

It's also very woke, looks like Bronx, most NPC's are black.

And now the performance part. The cutscenes on PS5 are 30fps making the game feel cheap. I have tried to like this game so i have dedicated a whole day to play it. But i couldn't, i got disconnected 5 times and eventually i was unable to login for a full hour so i had to give up. While i was able to play the game lagged non stop.

Oh, and the story... It really shows that blizzard didn't even try... It's like, they gave up... The writing feels like the regurgitation of all the clichés blizzard had in their sleeve. Ity feels like blizzard took all the writings that they had for the other Diablo games, threw them in a mixer and extracted random parts and put them in random order. I swear, it's the worst writing i saw EVER in ANY game, AAA or indie. Diablo 3 was like Lord of the Rings compared to Diablo 4.... The prerendered cutscenes are cool, though.

Another annoying thing is the shop. Not only that its inside the game (instead of PS store liked most games have) but there is always a dot on the shop button that reminds you that your duty as a blizzard client is to spend money.

Just play Diablo 3 instead, it's the superior product from ALL points of view. Maybe buy Diablo 4 after 3 more expansion patches (i mean, 500£ later). Maybe at that price tag it will be eventually playable.

Most people reviewing here are giving low score due to servers being down, its not a true reflection of the game itself. Diablo 4 is a great game. I pre-ordered it and am currently World Tier 3. I read some of the critiques and I have to disagree with most of them.

How can someone say the build system is shallow when the game has only been out for a couple of days? You have a branching skill tree (active and passive skills) which not only synergize with the other skills within the skill tree, but also the multiple different aspects you unlock either from gear drops (which you can remove and add to other gear at a cost) or completing specific dungeons. Not to mention paragon levels after hitting level 50 with node and glyph unlocks. Each piece of gear also have different stats and effects which you can also relocate to other gear. All these factors synergize to either create an average build or a very potent build capable of finishing higher level content. Its a bit more than adequate. Not overly complicated, but not simple enough to feel like you are not 'building' your character. People who bought this game knew it was not going to be POE2, so why compare its build system to POE1? The build system is a lot better and more complex and rewarding than any previous Diablo game or any other decent ARPG out there besides PoE. Mythic items are also a welcome addition to the caliber of gear you can get at endgame. I always felt Diablo 3 was missing just one more tier of gear quality.

The graphics are incredible. They managed to capture the same dark gritty vibe from Diablo 1, which is what I missed at times from Diablo 2 and especially Diablo 3. Environments, outdoor and especially indoor are very detailed and I found myself at times marveling at these.

The gameplay can be slow and fast at the same time, its hard to describe but it feels good and more realistic than any previous Diablo entry. Each kill is extremely satisfying, the effects are great, everything you would expect from a polished Blizzard game. They seem to be able to do this better than anyone else.

My favorite part of the game is the maps and zones. For so long I waited for an ARPG that was like Sacred 2 in map and exploration size. Diablo 3 was extremely shoe horsed and I hated that. Diablo 4 is a huge seamless world and this for me is the best part of the game.

There is also a ton of things to do. Main quest line, a plethora of sub quests, mini dungeons, dungeons, strongholds, helltide, world bosses and probably more I am not even aware of yet. It is a game they can definitely expand on in the future and add more features like this if necessary.

My only gripes are the following:

Lack of different voice options. My necromancer sounds like a paladin.
Act 2 seemed a bit short. The story is average, nothing groundbreaking. I would have like to have seen some more classic Blizzard cinematic, a lot of it is in game cinematic. After just finishing FF7 remake I realized this was lacking a bit.
Slight rubber banding at times - This definitely detracts from the experience and is annoying. This is most likely cause the game just launched, but will be fixed in the next couple of days.

Other than that, quite frankly this is the best ARPG I have played. Diablo 1 will always hold a special place in my heart. Sacred 2, Grim Dawn/Titan Quest too, but I feel Diablo 4 has taken positive aspects of all these games, learned from their mistakes from Diablo 3 and made one hell of a game in Diablo 4.

The skill system is back, as is the paragorn board. There is a cap on Skills however, 58 skill points "only" and only 6 active skill slots. As a D2 player, this sounds limiting, but then again we had mostly 1 or 2 beefed up skills in D2 we used solely all the time to level 99, so in that regard D4 actually improves on with limited, but sensible choice.

The paragorn board just reinforces the above, where you can further define your build with sensible stat improvements while also having to decide which capstones you want to go for. This together with full respec options allows for a very well thought out character progression system that encourages thinking through your build while allowing constant small or big adjustments.

The item system is great as always, although in the beginning the affixes felt a bit too samey. But the imprint/aspect system, where you can create your own legendaries with stats that are useful for your chosen skillset is right out fantastic while not trivializing finding new items.

The shared world sounded very problematic to me - but it wasn't. As a complete solo player I have to admit that it felt very fresh and cool seeing other randos appearing, sometimes helping, and going along again afterwards. It made the world feel full and lively. Respawning monsters are a bit weird but understandble for such a system and overall this added a lot of fun to the experience.
Downside though is that it means no mods, ever. Which sucks balls but was unfortunately expected.

On the other hand I have to compliment Blizzard for how polished the release actually is. Very few bugs, none gamebreaking for me and the QoL features, the game design, the story and the progression all feel very well thought out and complete.
If you like looters and can forgive some less complex mechanics like Path offers, then D4 is very likely appealing to you. I played it now since the 2nd (early access) and I regretted none of the hours in it at all. And my Necro (what else?) already is level 60, so there's that. Despite having to work most of the day :')

Story is ok. Not good, not bad.
Gear has many different affix combinations to work with.
Finding gear upgrades is fun for a while.
Experiencing sanctuary as an overworld map is interesting.
Music is ok. Not good, not bad.
A lot of gory, shocking and dark moments / places as expected from a Diablo game.

Statues of Lilith are annoying and do not add anything meaningful into the game.
The dungeons only being accessible in the overworld introduces meaningless walking.
No loot filters. Have to sift through loot manually.
Stash/vendors in town are spread out. Introduces meaningless walking.
Nerfs to builds 2 days after launch. Wasting your pre-launch build planning. Hopefully they will not do that to season launches.
Low dungeon randomization. Leading to high dungeon predictability / determinism of certain dungeon features.
Low mob density. Partially making players walk more than kill monsters.
The general low mob density and low dungeon randomization also causes dungeons with high density clusters to be more efficient to farm to the point where only 1 or 2 dungeons are being farmed by the community.
Group play has so many benefits that it trivializes and exploits certain aspects of the game. That can be ok if the ladder will be split in solo only and rest.
Bad class balance. Some classes are good and fast while leveling and in endgame. Some only in endgame. And some seem to be worse in all parts of the game.
No super rare powerful chase items like rare runes in D2, Mageblood in PoE, etc.
Legendary / unique affixes which add dmg multipliers to specific skills. This creates a balancing hell where one or two skills will always be better to pick due to their affixes being more powerful (see Whirlwind for Barb or Twisting Blades for Rogue). Instead of having generalized affixes which make many different skills more powerful, increasing build diversity.
UI made for consoles / controller limitations.
No social features like party finder. I would expect this from an always online, shared overworld game.
An enemy level scaling where mobs also gain levels when your character levels up. This will cause your character to sometimes get weaker when leveling up due to mobs sometimes gaining more stats than you on level up.

I think a lot of bad reviews are not justified. The gameplay, story, and progression in Diablo 4 are really good. Graphics/Combat/Content everything is just there and this is just the starting foundation they can only go up from here. They have said we will be recieving seasons every 3 months with more content then ever before. Two expansions are already being worked on i forsee a bright future for D4.

This game is a solid 8/10 now but if you include that this is only a foundation and will have so much more added to it i will rate it a 11/10 easy. Shocking that there is zero p2w in the game as well.

Just finished the campaign. I’ve never played a diablo before and I loved it, excited for the expansions and to keep leveling up, surprised the fanboys hate it so much. The campaign on world tier 2 was extremely fun and the exact perfect level of difficulty. The amount of times I beat a boss with little health and no pots left is absolutely crazy.

People trying to degen play this like streamers and youtubers, whos job is speedrun the game to produce content, and complaining the game as nothing to do? The endgame is farming for gear? What did you expect from an ARPG? Diablo as plenty to do and various ways after you reach level 50 and or finish the campaign for you to progress your character.

Servers where down for about 1 hour 8 of june, and this delusional people, who dont even have the game, so they are playing through twitch streamers, came here and bombed the game. What a sad life you must have to deliberately do this.

This game is a solid 8/10, good story overhall, great combat, great graphics, well optimized, classes feel fun to play, various ways to farm gear, diferent types of end game.

Now there are many things that could be improved:
    - Stash needs rework and the ability to search
    - Implement gem only bag
    - Builds feel to "pre built" little room for creativity
    - World bosses could be more challenging

70$ game, if you value your time at 1$ per hour, you get your money's worth and even more.

When season launches, there will be a battle pass with free and premium tiers. It's not mandatory to progress your character nor does it award items nor power for your character, mainly cosmetics and currency.

L'histoire est vraiment mais vraiment baclée.
    Il y a de nombreuses incohérences. :
    - Pourquoi tel personnage traque tel autre ?

    Review:

Diablo 4 is undeniably one of the most anticipated games of the past decade, and I am thrilled to say that it lives up to all expectations. The latest chapter in Blizzard Entertainment's legendary series not only surpasses its predecessors but also sets new standards for the action RPG genre.

Right from the beginning, Diablo 4 captivates with its deep and immersive story. You find yourself in a dark fantasy world steeped in darkness and chaos, bearing witness to an epic battle between good and evil. The meticulously crafted narrative comes alive through stunning cinematic scenes and top-notch voice acting, infusing depth and emotion into the characters.

The gameplay in Diablo 4 is on a whole new level compared to previous installments. Every strike, every spell cast with smooth and realistic animations, delivers a sense of power and satisfaction. The character progression system offers a vast array of abilities and combinations, allowing players to create unique heroes that align with their playstyle.

The world of Diablo 4 breathes with life. Each location, every corner, is infused with an atmosphere of darkness and terror. The diverse landscapes and intricately detailed environments immerse you in a realm of grim fantasy, where every step can be your last.

Diablo 4's multiplayer mode offers unparalleled opportunities for collaboration and competition. You can join forces with friends to take on mighty bosses, tackle challenging dungeons, or engage in thrilling PvP battles. The seamless online integration ensures a dynamic and engaging social experience.

Visually, Diablo 4 is a feast for the eyes. The graphics are stunning, with meticulous attention to detail, realistic lighting, and breathtaking visual effects. The art direction perfectly captures the dark and gritty aesthetic of the Diablo universe, enhancing the overall immersion.

Furthermore, the soundtrack of Diablo 4 is a masterpiece in its own right. The haunting melodies and epic orchestral compositions amplify the game's atmosphere, evoking a range of emotions from awe to spine-chilling dread.

In conclusion, Diablo 4 is a triumph that exceeds expectations on all fronts. It delivers an enthralling story, engaging gameplay, and a captivating world that will keep players hooked for countless hours. With its impeccable presentation and a wealth of content, Diablo 4 is poised to become a modern classic in the action RPG genre.

Overall, the game falls short in several areas, making it a disappointing experience.
The concept of level scaling is flawed, as players consistently feel weaker after leveling up unless they acquire new weapons. This undermines the sense of progression and leaves players questioning the purpose of leveling. Furthermore, the lack of mob density in the early stages of the game dampens the excitement and exploration.

Itemization is another letdown, as the focus seems to be solely on acquiring higher numerical values rather than hunting for unique and interesting items. With the existence of a global loot table, the open world becomes irrelevant, reducing the sense of exploration and variety. Additionally, as players progress through the world tiers, lower-tier items become obsolete, making their continued drop rate puzzling and frustrating.

Furthermore, the game's item progression system suffers from a lack of balance and pacing. Once players reach a higher world tier, they are suddenly flooded with higher rarity items within a matter of an hour or two. This rapid influx of powerful gear provides a quick dopamine rush, but it also diminishes the sense of meaningful item progression. The problem becomes more apparent when players remain within the same world tier for an extended period. During this time, the advancement in item quality and effectiveness becomes almost negligible. It creates a stagnant experience where the excitement of finding better gear is greatly diminished.

The skill system also suffers from imbalance and lack of coherence. While percentage damage from equipped weapons may work for certain classes like barbarians, it feels out of place for others like sorcerers. This discrepancy in skill mechanics undermines the overall cohesion and strategic depth of the gameplay.

The user interface is another weak point, with inconsistent quality. The skill tree is unreadable, impeding players from making informed decisions about character progression. Furthermore, the item description tables suffer from poor design choices, making it difficult to gather crucial information about items. The overall design and visibility issues significantly detract from the user experience.

The Paragon Board, intended to provide additional customization options, ends up feeling repetitive and lacking in diversity. The emphasis on percentage damage, resource bonuses, and generic damage increases results in different classes feeling remarkably similar, reducing the incentive to experiment with different playstyles.

In terms of monetization, the game's release strategy raises concerns. Claiming a premiere date of 6.6 and offering a $20 Early Access option merely four days earlier feels disingenuous. Furthermore, the offer of Early Access for a short duration of only four days diminishes the value of the additional payment. It appears as if the intention was to capitalize on the fact that June 2nd fell on a Friday and June 6th on a Tuesday, maximizing profits rather than providing a genuine Early Access experience.

Overall, these practices cast a shadow on the game's integrity and consumer trust. Players who paid $70 instead of $90 were not given a true premiere experience but rather what could be considered a "Later Access" to the full version 1.0 of the game on June 2nd. This approach undermines the expectations and fairness associated with Early Access models, where players typically support a game's development in its earlier stages. As a result, the game's monetization strategy leaves players feeling exploited and dissatisfied.

In summary, the game suffers from a lack of complexity, opting for complicated mechanics that fail to deliver engaging gameplay. Issues with level scaling, mob density, itemization, skill mechanics, UI design, monetization choices, and item progression all contribute to a disappointing experience. Rather than providing a captivating Hack n' Slash adventure, the game relies on forced travel to prolong gameplay, further detracting from the overall enjoyment. As a result, the game falls short of its potential, leaving players longing for a more satisfying and well-rounded experience.

What I got was the most solo experience of all the multiplayer games I ever played. In all the "public events" I played there was one single occurrence where another player was in the same instance. The rest of the game was zapping enemies around for 10 hours. You do see other players in the hub, I even tried to "invite to party" some of them but it never works.

So big fail for a multiplayer game. I give it a 6 just for the great graphics and top notch custscenes. We will see how blizzard will address this.

So this game cost me like 100!!! which is insane. Yes its a big game and ill probably play for over 60hrs but that doesnt justify 100! or day 1 micros which add up to over 350!!! and the battle pass at another ...who knows!!! Its just greedy. And anti consumer. And no game except maybe the witcher 3 would be worth this insanity.

So if the game didnt have day 1 removed content sold back to us then I would award it an easy 7 or 8...maybe higher once the many bugs are fixed. But right now and for evermore as these micros get worse and worse... I have to say wait for a deep sale or fee2play or plus etc. And its not ok just say dont buy it as if it wasnt for the gulf between rich and poor where there are enough whales to make games with these business models possible then the rest of us average people would not have to put up with this...as we didnt for the last 30 years.

Maybe buy the disc and resell it etc. Do not reward the greedy devs as I didnt get a pay rise to afford this new tier of 100 gaming and you prob didnt either so we shouldnt encourage it with 10/10.

Early acess 02/06/23 : minor bugs, servers were working pretty well. I progress through the campaign with my friends and it went pretty well. But once we achieved endgame features, there's a lot of bugs.
Nightmare dungeons : bugged. You can't go in with friends because you will be desynchronised 1 dungeon out of 2.
Helltide : unplayable with lags. you'll die everytime you take a lag, and you'll lose your components.

Release date 06/06/23 : lags everytime. Permanent lags, so totally unplayable endgame features

    08/06/23 22h30 GMT+1 : Crash server. Can't play. Only 2 days since release.

Enough with server problems. There's also class balance problems. Barbarian is Godlike, rogue is too squishy (gets one shotted by almost everything), necromancer has literraly 0 mobility, druid is unkillable, and sorcerer is the only balanced class.

Let's talk about campaign : Act 1, 2, 3 ,4 and 5 are Star Wars Disney tier. Act 6 is a real masterpiece.
Campaign boss fights are for retarded ppl. they have 0 mechanics, they just have a ton of hp.
Only Lilith have a real boss fight. And Elias after the campaign will have a real boss fight too.

The Artistic Direction is perfect. that's why i give them 1 point.
Sound Design is good, but Lost Ark is better at it.

There's a lack of features in the UI. We can't see other player's profile. there's no statistics, can't watch playtime, there's no ladder.
There's no search bar for items in the stash. Gems take too much space

And there's a ton of other bugs, like sometimes you can't use any ability or dash. Sometimes the horse's pathfinding will totally bug. Cinematics will sometimes bug when you play with friends, only 1 in the group will the dialogues / cinematics.

There's no diversity in the bestiary and the dungeon bosses or in the decorations. All monsters are recycled with different color, and they are spread all over the entire map. Dungeons are procedural but you will see always the same monsters in them.
Dungeon Bosses are catastrophic. Distant / Mage bosses are retarded, they do no damage so you can just burst them with any build.
Melee Bosses are a nightmare, they run faster than you, have an attack speed higher than the light speed. So you almost can't kite them and if you don't play barbarian, druid or sorcerer frost you'll just instant die.

To sum up, this game is **** tier and doesn't deserve your money, let Blizzard sink.

There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.
