    One of the worst patches i've ever seen in all my 20 or so years of gaming, filled with anti-fun bias, overnerf to already weak enough class solely because of populariity and overall player progress being heavily targeted, on an already overpriced game with lackluster endgame. and this is a game where the endgame and seasonal content is SUPPOSED to be the main selling point.

    Congrats to blizzard ! managed to get achieve a gaming experience that's a downgrade from free games like poe, and downgrade from their own previous title that is diablo3. absolutely impressive, astonishing, i've never seen a company that's so utterly so dedicated to failure and insatisfaction of their costumers, i hope the devs all have fun with the game now as it seems that's who they made the game for. The game was advertised to have such depth, but the reality is there is no real end game to speak of. The most recent patch nerfed all classes, most offensive and defensive abilities and experience gain.     Honestly this game lost its appeal. It was ruined by 1.1. It's not the same old game you loved, It is a service meant to manipulate you and exploit you. The end game was lackluster at best, and the finest parts are few and likely nerfed by now.

The lack of end game content should have been addressed with the first season update, but instead they've decided to neuter the few things that felt good in their game in favor of increasing the tediousness of basic tasks to encourage future battle pass transactions and other forms of monetization.

    ARPGs generally have depth, with content that can be fun and challenging for everyone from the weekend warrior to the hardcore completionists. instead, they've decided to make the difficulty so artificial that even their most committed core like content creators, the ones who stand to profit off of the mutual success of the game, are pointing and laughing.    … Expand

    This is the most evident display of out of touch changes I have ever witnessed in my 25+ years of gaming. I can not wait to hear the excuses for their lack of urgency. 1 hour to hotfix Shako, potential days to fix cinders. God forbid we exit a dungeon with a 3 second cast. I feel like I am taking crazy pills!

    Spent hundreds of hours carefully building a very unique character with hundreds of aspects to consider, only to have the developers reduce and skew tiny data points to the point that my barb is weaker, less of a cohesive build, and basically not fun anymore. Undo this latest patch or this game will remain uninstalled

    Don't waste your time on a game run by developers that do everything they can to extract money from you as a consumer while simultaneously going out of their way to make things unnecessarily tedious, slow, and frustrating for you as the player. I've never seen such a disconnect from developer to playerbase in my entire life.

This is fundamentally a PvE game, with PvP and grouping mechanisms being an afterthought, and you're trying to balance this around competitive gameplay when there simply is none and that is not the point - at all - of an ARPG.

    One would think a game that has a cosmetic shop would put more effort in. It should translate, right? Make people love your game so they're willing to spend more money. No, they took the opposite approach. Make people take longer to play the game, make things more tedious. That should make them more likely to purchase, right? Wrong. People are quitting, and people are doing this.

    I can somewhat deal with an "MMO"ARPG that has barely any social features but patch 1.1 is the worst patch in the history of patches. The devs have no content for us so they nerfed everything to make the game slower, Friday's dumpster fire will just be 40 minutes of diablo immortal updates, and 20 minutes of them telling us they know best. Game uninstalled. Will not spend another $ on D4.

    I can't even play the game with the memory leak issues. It just constantly crashes. They have acknowledged the issue and said they might have a fix in the future....with no date. They had their first big patch, no news on it and they are taking the game in a horrible direction. Save your money, don't be a fool like me seeing the franchise name Diablo and thinking this is Blizzard North.

    Devs are either deaf or are so focused on how they think the game should play they never asked if the user will have fun with the experience. Blizz is trying to make a Loot based ARPG MMO, without rewarding loot system. An ARPG without action. A MMO without a social system. It tries to be everything, and fails on every aspect.

    As someone who has both a well geared WW or HOtA lvl100 Barb and Summoner or Boner lvl100 Necro I have had the experience of playing both; Ranged and Melee, AoE and Single Target    I Have never written a review in my life on a single game I have ever purchased, the original Diablo got me not just into the rpg genre but into gaming in general and not once have a been this disappointed.

    As someone who has both a well geared WW or HOtA lvl100 Barb and Summoner or Boner lvl100 Necro I have had the experience of playing both;

    Ranged and Melee,
    AoE and Single Target Dmg,
    High Burst and Consistent Dmg,
    Minions and No Minions builds,
    CC immune or Chain CC'd to death,
    Fast and Slow,
    Nerfed and insanely OP,

    classes simultaneously and the sad truth is I'm not even this disappointed due to the terrible state of balance or the lack of endgame content, the endless grinding of same dungeons, the horrible lack of any QOL that we have been asking for since day 1 in this game, it's knowing they did this not for the health of the game but to kill the eternal realm characters so everyone would be forced to play seasons and buy their overpriced battlepass and farm their new seasonal gems to get back the power they once had before patch 1.1 was released.

    Oh yes and I have receipts for my "conspiracy theory" as a reference here is the article stating and I quote;

    "All I know is that quest designer Madeleine James promised me some wild Diablo 4 Sorcerer builds in Season 1, and I can’t wait to see them. They rely on the new Diablo 4 Malignant Hearts, which will hopefully make up for a few of the latest patch’s rougher nerfs; my Sorceress needs a boost, okay?"

    Basically every 3 moths we'll release you a new gimmick in a season to make you feel powerful again. But you better only play seasons because if you don't guess what? back to feeling like an absolute slog to level or grind gear in the eternal realm for you. This is just 1/100 of the problems in this game and 5000 char is not enough to really say what needs to be said in this game.

Spend your time doing something rewarding and fun, something you really feel motivated to do. all the devs of this game do is kill your motivation.

Everywhere you turn in this game you are faced with an obtrusive obstacle, sometimes literal, that seeks to do nothing other than slow you down and prevent you from getting anywhere or having any fun. If you somehow find a way to play the game at a high level or a fast pace, Blizzard will stop you dead in your tracks and weaken your character with quite possibly the most reviled patching in gaming history. With constant back-tracking in dungeons, horses that forget how to gallop, literal roadblocks, LoL-inspired recall times, and just plain old damage stat reductions, Blizzard has proven nothing since launch other than that they do not understand the ARPG genre or what its fans are seeking. Or worse yet, they do know, but they don't care, because all that matters to a giant, evil corporation is profit (don't believe me? Diablo Immortal).
    If you were fortunate or intelligent enough to not entrust your money to this God-forsaken corporation to play this game, do yourself a favor and keep your credit card in your wallet until D4's absolutely dented team of developers is fired and replaced by people who actually play the game and understand the genre (and can do basic math and not release half-baked and boring itemization systems).    … Expand

    Reduce exp gain, add more walls, slow them down, make them wait longer.

    How do we make it challenging for players? Nerf class skills, nerf damage, nerf items, nerf aspects, buff monster.

    Game started off lack luster, but fun. Then the first page for the first season came out and they went backwards in every direction possible, even increasing the time it takes to go back to town after finishing a dungeon by two seconds. This game went from being potentially one of the best ARPG games to a steaming pile of dog excrement in a single patch.

I haven't been the biggest fan of D4 since the gear sucks and everything is really repetitive, but what the devs have done with this patch makes me want to delete this thing and never look back.... ESPECIALLY with BALDUR'S GATE 3 coming outI have played Diablo since it first came out on the original PlayStation 25 years ago. I can't count how many hours i have devoted to this franchise. Worst game mechanics. This franchise is dead after Diablo ii. Save your money and get baldurs gate coming out in 2 weeks. Bad storyline. Endgame non-existent. Really bad game overall.     i have started Diablo 2, which was an amazing game for its time, when d4 released i thought the beta was a 8/10 but then when the real game came out i noticed why the game onlyl had the first 25, later 20 levels in beta. The game wasnt even finished. Multiple reported bugs in the closed beta where never fixed untill the game launched and well, random nerfs to classes because there was ai have started Diablo 2, which was an amazing game for its time, when d4 released i thought the beta was a 8/10 but then when the real game came out i noticed why the game onlyl had the first 25, later 20 levels in beta. The game wasnt even finished. Multiple reported bugs in the closed beta where never fixed untill the game launched and well, random nerfs to classes because there was a bugged mechanic and the nerf never got undone when they found out. From the testing and patching they are doing you would think you are dealing with a small indi company but fact is that Activision Blizzard is just a really bad publisher that has a horrible team running diablo 4.
    This latest patch, 1.1.0 confirmed everything i was dreading from this small indi company that they dont even test their changes on an unfinished game that is already live. At launch after a week i would give it a 5/10 over the 8.5/10 the beta content, but with no end-game and devs where they have no clue what they are doing i cannot give it more t hen 1/10 anymore and thats just because i enjoyed the first 24 hours of the game, something new and exiting but that was it.     Trending downhill fast. Instead of, oh I don't know, making improvements, the devs decided to make the gameplay experience more miserable for players. My recommendation if you are considering purchasing this game is to wait until the year 2029. You'll get a discount and hopefully the game is in a state that is fun.

    After the recent live stream from the devs regarding patch 1.1.0, I made an account just to give this game a zero. The devs are so disconnected from reality, they clearly don’t play their own game and it’s easy for them to nerf things to the ground in a matter of hours but it takes months to fix bugs/buff characters. This game sucks please stay away.

The devs are an embarrassment to the organization. They just proved they can’t logically fix content in their game. Example:

    Patch notes added new affix that increases all resistances. Resistances are still broken and they announced they are aware of this and it will be patched season 2 aka 6 months down the road. Now sorcs use int. Int increases resistance. This is broken so main stat is useless. Armor is their only survivability, that gets nerfed now sorcs are glass trash because they don’t even deal damage because that was nerfed.

    It’s what happens when they hired a dude who literally destroyed a franchise (gears of war)    … Expand

    The new patch is the wrost decision in modern gaming. At launch Diablo 4 was difficult to love. Having cut my teeth on Blizzard games, especially Diablo 2, I wanted to love the latest entry. I found some early excitement with my first legendary drop, but that early rush soon faded as I dove into the annoyingly granular loot affix system. Of course only a handful of them are reallyThe new patch is the wrost decision in modern gaming. At launch Diablo 4 was difficult to love. Having cut my teeth on Blizzard games, especially Diablo 2, I wanted to love the latest entry. I found some early excitement with my first legendary drop, but that early rush soon faded as I dove into the annoyingly granular loot affix system. Of course only a handful of them are really worthwhile. The problem is they are buried among so many useless ones that getting the correct rolls for a given build is a tedious slog. Affix changing costs get out of hand quickly, meaning if you don't get the right affix within the first few rolls the item becomes effectively bricked. Still, once you get used to it it has a certain charm. Aspects, obtainable from dungeon completions or from legendary items are also a chore. Some aspects like Aspect of the Umbral or Aspect of Exposed Flesh are stuffed into bloated item slots with so many other aspects that it is almost impossible to get a good roll. Uniques, basically the actual Legendaries of the game by the old Diablo item tiers, are vanishingly rare and have odd affix distributions that make them, on the whole, less useful than their counterparts in previous Diablo entries.

    Then they released patch 1.1 which made all those little problems disappear by basically breaking everything else. See you don't have to balance a game where every class and build sucks equally. Ok maybe not equally Sorceress/Sorcerer got deleted. The patch took out all the joy in the game and replaced it with tedium. It is obvious they want to slow player progression through the content in order maximize player engagement in the Seasonal realm. This creates value for Activision shareholders, but pretty much hoses the actual player. If you have any sense at all just sit this one out for a few months, maybe they get their act together and you get the game used, at a discount, but if not you won't have to slog through a season full of bad decisions.    … Expand

    Great launch, was fun to play until they blew everything up. Now it's a boring grind that takes much longer to achieve anything. Instead of raising everything to a similar level, they decided to cut it to the bone. With that they cut out the fun and left the boring plain parts.

This patch nerfed all the fun out of the game, without giving anything back. I've never seen a more out of touch development team. Nobody asked for the drastic, damaging changes, and they fixed literally nothingI absolutely loved this game before the Season 1 patch.     If you were on the fence…This is an ACTION RPG with slow paced action. It's a LOOT hunter with boring loot. This is an MMO with no social aspects. A dungeon crawler that feels more like a game of fetch the stones and put them on the pedestals.

    I bought the game on PS5 and PC. Got a Necro up to 90. Was farming for specific gear. Then boom. The Season 1 patch comes out and wrecks everything. I feel robbed.

Blizzard has historically managed to meet or even surpass expectations with their continuous updates, however, this time around, the implementation feels more like a misstep than an upgrade.

    For starters, the new balancing adjustments made to the classes seem significantly out of sync. While it's understood that a certain level of class balancing is necessary, the degree of these changes has disrupted the strategic gameplay. Now, my Sorcerer feels less like the master of the elements and more like a wand-waving wizard from a children's book.

    While the Diablo franchise has always been known for its resilience and potential to bounce back, this latest update has undeniably damaged the game's reputation. It is my sincerest hope that Blizzard takes the critical feedback from its dedicated player base seriously and swiftly acts to rectify the current state of Diablo 4.

    In its current state, I cannot in good conscience recommend Diablo 4 to any prospective gamers, especially those who cherished the previous entries. This update does not honor the legacy of the Diablo franchise, nor does it offer the gaming experience we have come to expect from Blizzard. Until we see substantial improvements, my advice would be to keep your distance from this current iteration.    … Expand

    The game has its issues like most games that are new. However, for the PC they have an issue with memory leak that will ruin your GPU. If you go to the forum in either Reddit or Blizzard you will see numerous posts about this very issue. The game lags and disconnects you constantly due to this issue and the tech support will just say it’s in your end.     Instead of adding complex and challenging aspiring content for players to strive for, increasing rewards and incentives to do such content over just regular ARPG-like farming, they nerfed player power by 50% across the board. I suppose adding gold and magic find % modifiers to each tier of Nightmare Dungeon was too hard as well.

    Rerolling items at the occultist is too expensive? Tough **** you now have like 3 completely useless affixes for 4 out of 5 classes to help you brick your items even faster.

    Overworld is boring and meaningless past level 5? Gotcha, let's make helltide chests expensive as **** for no reason while retaining the same (terrible) rewards. Helltide cinder drops were stealth nerfed btw, so that's pretty cool. Do enough for your forgotten souls and then never do them again! Back to Nightmare Dungeons you go!

    You wanna farm more gold to reroll your good items? Unlucky bro **** you, normal dungeons are completely irrelevant now because they drop ****all compared to Nightmare Dungeons. Best source of gold making? Boosting. Oh yea I forgot, that's gone too, let's go.

    Pointless to even bring up the whole season "mechanic" of malignant hearts, which are incredibly boring as per their twitter post, not very powerful at all AND they make you "opt out" (aka force you) of wearing 750 armor on your rings via the skulls. You get ANOTHER cheat death mechanic though, wonderful! That's exactly what HC needed.

    Search function? Stash tabs? Loot filters? Density buffs? Real endgame content? Making resistances actually functional? Fixing gold sinks? Balancing underused skills in a meaningful way? Balancing irrelevant affixes so that they're competitive with the better ones? Reworking Sorcs so that their class ACTUALLY WORKS in the game they paid $100 for? **** you. Enjoy the battlepass though, it's real cheap.

    Oh let's not forget that they said they'd fix VRAM memory leak but then completely retconned it by not including it in the patch notes, as well as literally any other fix to game stability. I had zero crashes prior to this patch and now I've gotten Fenris like 5 times since the patch. Cool! Thanks for that.

    Could go on and on, but the bottom line is that I TRULY believe this is the singular worst major patch in ARPG history, and the only way they can possibly save the game (not the season, THE GAME) is either panic delaying the Season 1 launch while trying to clean up their own mess, or completely deleting the patch and just launching the season with the previous foundation. They just put out job openings for basically every position under the sun for D4 like 2 weeks ago, maybe wait until those are filled and then try again.

    Even with high-end rigs, you must set all of the game settings to absolute minimum to avoid severe lag and game stuttering. Weekly updates take TWO days, wherein you are subject to being logged out at any time, even mid-battle. They already have your money, you'll not get that back. Very close to $100 wasted to BETA TEST, as this game is obviously nowhere near complete, judging from all the nerfs that they roll out weekly. Microtransactions are nowhere near MICRO. The average skin will set you back about $30 to $40 USD, AND it's a very slightly tweeked, perhaps color slightly altered version of a skin you can get absolutely free in the game.     There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
