    There are a couple of reasons I’m going to give this game a 0/5 stars. The combat systems is fun but is gutted by the fact that you need a dumb amount of time and resources to change anything so their “play your way slogan” goes more to play optimally or be forced to spend more time and in game resources than you could imagine to build a bad version of a meta build as we don’t have theThere are a couple of reasons I’m going to give this game a 0/5 stars. The combat systems is fun but is gutted by the fact that you need a dumb amount of time and resources to change anything so their “play your way slogan” goes more to play optimally or be forced to spend more time and in game resources than you could imagine to build a bad version of a meta build as we don’t have the storage space or organizational tools to effectively store what you would need for a second build. PvP is fun and rewarding but gutted by the fact there’s no limit on who you can attack based on level difference so you can be one tapped at anytime by bored maxed players for just playing the game. This also means unless your build is meta you are getting one tapped by anyone who spends a fortune in time and resources to min max their gear. hell tides were some of the best endgame content I’ve seen in a game and they promptly merged it into the ground to a state where it’s unplayable. Anytime it was working better for the players than it was supposed to hotfixes were instant. They knows it’s bugged and delivering 60% of the loot it’s supposed to and they tweet but do no hot fix. They needed everyone on the base game into the ground as a shameless move to push people into their seasonal content to feel like they aren’t weak so they can push seasonal buyables. While they said it was for balance everything is weaker than before. They needed leveling into the ground so now casual players aren’t maxing during the season so the sweat lords will definitely run pvp so the only end game content left is nightmare dungeons which they aren’t good enough to make interesting so they just buffed it’s base stats without adding any variety making them a stat check only made difficult by their unilateral nerfs to the player base. If you want to play a game where everything fun is nerfed, you literally are dumb for picking at least 2 out of 5 classes and with the exception of rogues you’re trash unless you go one of few builds, and the dev team balances the game like abusive parents foster love through trauma then still don’t play this game, just get therapy. Even if the game is somehow balanced by a blizzard employee, a wild concept, at best you’ll never get to the endgame or get thier and just be playing inventory management simulator because there is not enough storage in the game to play the game fluidly… Expand

However, the dev team just refuse to listen to the playerbase, not only not focusing on the players' feedback on the QOL issues, e.g. stash, gem tab, etc. They decided to make the game even less fun by increasing the difficulty and time required to reach end game. And the New "End game" will be like 70% as strong of the Pre-patch "End game". Basically, makes you suffer more without giving out reward and satisfaction that are in proportion.

    welp, the game was so fun at first, played it for 20 days straight but if you are an endgame player and have lots of time, you will not like this game. The Itemization and Endgame is incredible boring. Balancing is terrible, there are builds which are just overachieving by 10000% and other builds are so bad you cannot even level with them in world tier 1. So if you want to have fun in thiswelp, the game was so fun at first, played it for 20 days straight but if you are an endgame player and have lots of time, you will not like this game. So if you want to have fun in this game, you will very likely have to pick out a build you already know is good because if you want to do a build yourself, it will very likely suck and not work, not to mention that many builds dont even work against Uber Lillith which is also a pointless boss. I think this game is a very good foundation and could potentially become a Godlike ARPG but blizzard once again destroyed all Hope with their latest patches and updates. They simply dont play the game. THey nerfed Sorc so hard even tho the class was broken and has like 2-3 Functioning Builds. Lightning not being viable at all and they nerfed Lightning the hardest, wtf. Even the Sorcs Paragon board has multiple logical fallacies, the game feels unfinished to me. Story is pretty boring, not much interesting stuff happens and its mostly baiting you out of your time. Thats why I will never play the story again. I will now try Season 1 and I will try once again to just go for a random Build I wanna try, if it doesnt work I will just quit the game. I dont wanna be forced to play the Meta Builds just in order to be able to play the game, makes no **** sense. Blizzard hire me and I will fix it for you, no problem.… Expand

    I've played Blizzard games for 20+ years. Blizzard Entertainment is no longer the same company that became famous for "Blizzard polish" on the games they make. Blizzard is simply a name that Activision can put on a product using nostalgic intellectual property to lure you in, get your money, and then fail to deliver on any aspect of the game you thought you were buying.

    Disappointing doesn't sum it up. This game had so much potential that was missed out of because Activision prioritized profiting off of seasonal content as much as possible instead of creating a genuinely fun and engaging experience.

    I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone seeking the same feelings they felt for Diablo 2. It isn't that type of game at all anymore. One day I will learn that just because it's a franchise I grew up loving, released by a company I grew up loving, doesn't mean either of those things are relevant when Activision (Microsoft) is involved.

    I have bought the most expensieve D4 possible version to buy so i would have battlepass for seazon 1 and now i think I will NOT play seazon 1.
    I have 2 characters now - Sorc 80lvl + druid 63. I don't want to exp another characters because i don't like concept of barb or rouge and Necro is so slow that i would fall asleep during walk....     Worst patch ever. Lizzard, Please! Fix the game. It was fun before, it seemed like you were working on improving things. But then you decided to just ruin it all with Season 1? Doesn't make sense at all.

    Game started off decent and has progressively gone down hill, development team actively engages and listens to the community based on their feedback and then pulls the rug on them last minute making terrible decisions based on what they think is “you actually want”. Why they have so many bugs and glitches that they “can’t fix immediately” is beyond me.     First i want to say that Diablo IV had a high potential to be a really really good game. I've had alot of fun through the Eternal Realm and played over 400 Hours grinding different Classes, trying out cool stuff, different builds, Pushing as far as i could and also Hardcore.     Yea, but what should i say... The Last Patch just killed the Game for me. High EXP Cuts, Nerfs (Offensive and defensive) around the Board and just giving a sht on the Community, that paid 70$ Minimum each. In Fact almost all my Builds are dealing like 30-50% LESS damage and dying faster. And they nerfed a important stat in the game "Player have #% Increased fun while playing Diablo4" by almost 100%. Giving us items for BUGGED Resistances (!!!) and will be fixed in Season 2 (?!). Are you fcking kidding me? Uber Uniques that are so rare, that no one will ever see one. Trading is a Joke. Crafting is bad. Helltides just got WAAAY longer. No Gear Upgrades after level 70 (just small ones). Stashes are way to small (playing several builds and 2-3 Classes and you are fcked). No Loot filter at all. The Hardest Boss in the game doesnt have specific Drops, lmfao.
    I really had so much hope. But boy, here i am.. Bashing Blizzard on Metacritic. Blizzard is still so out of touch with the Community. Learned my final lesson now and will move on. I am using my Random Teleport to go to Baldurs Gate 3 or any other Game.    … Expand

Been diablo binge playing since 2000 first time ever i stopped playing after 2 weeks. Gane dies once campaign is done. Loot is atrocious lack of build diversity .     Global reaching nerfs have done nothing to promote build diversity and in fact hurt the less viable builds as a whole. This doesn't even solve vuln damage, crit damage, or cooldown reduction being required, in fact it made it even more necessary. This game has no direction and the devs can't even implement the fixes they've used in previous games like capping crit damage while boosting theGlobal reaching nerfs have done nothing to promote build diversity and in fact hurt the less viable builds as a whole.     Dungeons are all the same, kill all enemies or find and place an item on a pedestal.
    The eternal realms have been nerfed to balance the season, so if you don't play the season prepare to be underwhelming.
    Loot drops are like seeing a box of crispy cream droughts only to find some funny bastard has switched the doughnuts for vegetables and opening chests that you would think should be dropping amazing loot disappoints.
    When legendries drop most of the time you end up salvaging it as you have so little stash space, so pick a build a stick to it and hope Blizzard don't take the nerf bat to it.    … Expand

    As it's stands now patch 1.1 killed the fun of all the players,nerfing sorc,helltides,cooldown reduction,crit,vulnerable and many more.Don't buy the game yet,no quality of lifes updates,no search bar for stash,not gem stash and many more,game fells early alpha not 10 years in development

    I played beta and launch, so I have a fair amount of time in the game and maxed out two characters. That being said, in patch 1.1.0A, most of the nerfs are terrible. Some I agree with, but most of it made me think, WHY? Crit and vulnerable damage were overpowered, but you guys nerf it 50% or more but did not buff the other damage—multipliers in an equal amount. Why did you nerf so much crit damage if you gave us crit damage as an option for the hearts? Do not lean on crit so much if you want us to do different builds.     I was very supportive of Diablo 4, I drove my whole gaming group to jump on it.     I rather go back to play diablo immortals with the new class added and the huge PVP content, not to mention the social interaction and the lot of end-game stuff to do. i haven't logged to D4 since 2 weeks waiting for the S1 to start, i was just stucked as hell with my rogue lv 84 and my druide lv 70 and start to be bored of this game in just one month of playing time. And now afterI rather go back to play diablo immortals with the new class added and the huge PVP content, not to mention the social interaction and the lot of end-game stuff to do. i haven't logged to D4 since 2 weeks waiting for the S1 to start, i was just stucked as hell with my rogue lv 84 and my druide lv 70 and start to be bored of this game in just one month of playing time.     and making a new character for the 3rd time is not fun. besides, they deleted my sorc too :(

    If the developers listen to player feedback and revert these changes then the game might be worth picking up. For now, don't waste your hard earned money.

    They have devs working on both diablo immortal and d4, and we're confused as to why diablo 4 sucks?

    In nearly 30 years since Diablo was introduced it seems Blizzard hasn't learned what's good from previous Diablo games and what's bad. I don't believe I could have hand selected worse or more unfun features. (1) None of the quality of life things from D3 exist. (2) There's 0 end game. (3) You won't be able to just try out new fun builds, because switching takes hours of gold savingIn nearly 30 years since Diablo was introduced it seems Blizzard hasn't learned what's good from previous Diablo games and what's bad. (4) There's too many useless secondary stats so 99.9999% of gear that drops is useless. It's very common to hear people not updating a single piece of gear from levels 75-90 because upgrades are so rare. (5) Dev teams provided so little content for the game they are nerfing XP to try and slow the game down to make it artificially last longer. (6) Constant nerfs, not just to damage but things like cool down reduction make the game feel more turn-based than "action" rpg, you'll spend time standing around waiting for cooldowns in-between packs. (7) Nightmare dungeons are so poorly designed you often spend time backtracking in them because of poor layout. (8) Uniques required for certain builds (not Uber uniques) have been know to just not drop at all for the entire level experience from 1-100. You may see a specific druid build you want to try but never in month of leveling from 1-100 ever see that item needed for that build. (9) Rerolling stats on gear is prohibitively costly so even a piece of near perfect gear with 1 bad stat often has to be thrown away. (10) Tomorrow's fireside chat that Blizzard has announced after the immediate backlash to S1 patch will 100% be them just telling players that players are and devs are right and devs know what's best, when it's clear none of them have played the game past level 25.

    Nerfing every class and ability and halting player progress in order to milk the same lackluster content is a bad move. Blizzard has become a sad company with no respect for its playerbase. Best stay away from this game until issues are properly addressed. If history repeats itself, that will be in 26 seasons, if ever.

    I highly doubt they even play this game or know how to make items for it. Just go to google and compare Oculus item in Diablo 2 and Diablo 4. Sorc class is pretty much unplayable after campaign. With the latest nerf patch (1.1 at this moment I'm rating) it has made the sorcerer class, which was already one of the weaker classes in my experience, almost no fun to play.     I had fun playing diablo 4 for a week. Max 30 hours I think.

    The game feels unfinished with very little to do now and a recent patch has made.it way to slow and boring and fairly pointless.

    Have uninstalled and might check back in 4/5 months when new content is released

Give me a reason to play this pure trash that they turned this game into after i loved playing this game so much. WILL NOT be playing season 1 and its a shame as i was looking forward to it.

    1. Rant aside, Its a great main story line and and the cinematics are well done
    2. Anything beyond the Main story line you are just grinding to get a small power increase to then grind at a higher level with no real incentive.
    3. Its fun while it lasts and that doesn't last long enough for the cost of the game.
    4. Worst replay value and "End Game" I have seen. I beat the game in 2 weeks, hit level 79, got bored quick and I uninstalled it 2 weeks ago and haven't looked back since.    … Expand

    Main campaign was ok (ish). Average story with great visuals and poor mechanics. End game was a bit of a grind, lots of repetitive mob/dungeons for little (or often no) meaningful reward. In an attempt to kill the still-in-its-infancy main campaign, and drive players into paid for seasons, the latest patch effectively makes the grind even harder, slower, and less rewarding. NO FUN TO BE HAD HERE.

    The Campaign is great but there is no endgame, and they constantly due balance changes so as you create a certain build it becomes not viable and you need to respec but every time you respec it cost millions of gold.

    i've been gaming for many many years and read patch notes from alot of games, including dota 2, csgo, valorant, LoL, and alot more. this patch by this out of touch reality devs is by faaaaaaaaaaar the most disappointing and frustrating thing i have read in my entire gaming life. i have uninstalled the game so fast after i finished reading that hot garbage of a patch.

    There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
