    This game was almost a 10 for me 4 days ago. Now I'd rather do anything else except touch this trash after the decisions made in the last patch. Don't waste your time. The devs would rather make you spend forever to get nowhere than provide a decent bit of content.

    There are a couple of reasons I’m going to give this game a 0/5 stars. The combat systems is fun but is gutted by the fact that you need a dumb amount of time and resources to change anything so their “play your way slogan” goes more to play optimally or be forced to spend more time and in game resources than you could imagine to build a bad version of a meta build as we don’t have theThere are a couple of reasons I’m going to give this game a 0/5 stars. The combat systems is fun but is gutted by the fact that you need a dumb amount of time and resources to change anything so their “play your way slogan” goes more to play optimally or be forced to spend more time and in game resources than you could imagine to build a bad version of a meta build as we don’t have the storage space or organizational tools to effectively store what you would need for a second build. PvP is fun and rewarding but gutted by the fact there’s no limit on who you can attack based on level difference so you can be one tapped at anytime by bored maxed players for just playing the game. This also means unless your build is meta you are getting one tapped by anyone who spends a fortune in time and resources to min max their gear. hell tides were some of the best endgame content I’ve seen in a game and they promptly merged it into the ground to a state where it’s unplayable. Anytime it was working better for the players than it was supposed to hotfixes were instant. They knows it’s bugged and delivering 60% of the loot it’s supposed to and they tweet but do no hot fix. They needed everyone on the base game into the ground as a shameless move to push people into their seasonal content to feel like they aren’t weak so they can push seasonal buyables. While they said it was for balance everything is weaker than before. They needed leveling into the ground so now casual players aren’t maxing during the season so the sweat lords will definitely run pvp so the only end game content left is nightmare dungeons which they aren’t good enough to make interesting so they just buffed it’s base stats without adding any variety making them a stat check only made difficult by their unilateral nerfs to the player base. If you want to play a game where everything fun is nerfed, you literally are dumb for picking at least 2 out of 5 classes and with the exception of rogues you’re trash unless you go one of few builds, and the dev team balances the game like abusive parents foster love through trauma then still don’t play this game, just get therapy. Even if the game is somehow balanced by a blizzard employee, a wild concept, at best you’ll never get to the endgame or get thier and just be playing inventory management simulator because there is not enough storage in the game to play the game fluidly… Expand

    I've played Blizzard games for 20+ years. Blizzard Entertainment is no longer the same company that became famous for "Blizzard polish" on the games they make. Blizzard is simply a name that Activision can put on a product using nostalgic intellectual property to lure you in, get your money, and then fail to deliver on any aspect of the game you thought you were buying.

    Disappointing doesn't sum it up. This game had so much potential that was missed out of because Activision prioritized profiting off of seasonal content as much as possible instead of creating a genuinely fun and engaging experience.

    I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone seeking the same feelings they felt for Diablo 2. It isn't that type of game at all anymore. One day I will learn that just because it's a franchise I grew up loving, released by a company I grew up loving, doesn't mean either of those things are relevant when Activision (Microsoft) is involved.

    Patch 1.1.0a took out all of the pleasure in playing this game. I have no motivation to go back to it, and no motivation to play season 1 at all.

    You make a build, collect everything you need for it. Blizzard think it should be weaker. You go for a new build, grind stuff and improve it. Poff you get even weaker than before. Just why? The endgame is boring and the devs are Karens

    ARPG that forgot the action part (game is very slow paced and patch 1.1 just made that worse).
    Defenses nerfed but broken defenses (resists) not fixed.
    End game loop is grinding for better items but itemization is not good and loot is not exciting to find.

I still want to play my Eternal Realm character but the Diablo IV dev team seems to push me away.     Those 4 idiots that keep doing community campfires probably never played a Diablo game before. You can tell by the way they approach patches and fixes. They have no clue of what they're doing. The incompetence level is just overwhelming. How can you be so clueless and still manage to keep your job? I really don't know.

    Honestly, the game was 6 out of 10 when it came out! I even gave 9/10 for the art work/graphic/fluidity/cinematic but with the 1.1 NERF PATCH, it's a 2 out of 10. How can you reduce CDR by 30%? You want my barb to wait in a corner, so my shouts get ready for the next mob pack? C'mon Blizzard, or should I say Activision or maybe, Microsoft?

    They told us season will blast.. i expected sth more than legendary gems: new paragon boards, dedicated balance changes, more than 1 unique per class and maybe to fix most of the freakin bugs and performance issues

    The game was launched at an "ok" state. Good enough to have some fun. The grinding and itemization was pretty terrible though. On 07/18/23 however they released patch 1.1 which has completely and utterly ruined the game.

    Damage was nerfed significantly. Survival was nerfed significantly. XP was nerfed significantly. Cool down reduction was nerfed significantly. You are FORCED to do Openworld time restricted; helltides and they made it worse, taking you longer to get what you are there for. Nightmare Dungeons do not make any sense because you dont get XP and you dont have a reason to do that when your glyphs are max level (content missing here too)
    The pinnacle boss cannot be beaten with every class or build, you will need the right build to be able to stand a chance. Thats actuallly ok, but not good design.
    They lack several QoL features, even essential ones iike seing the possibilities of stats you could get or even showing numbers how high (funny that this is the core mechanic of fun; gearing up)

    Forcing Online Mode is useless, you see others but never do anything with randoms.
    They changed several things with XP which didnt make any sense, i was 100 in 3 weeks and they still buff it sometimes (or now nerf it)
    They dont know what do to. They didnt add anything exciting to season 1.

    Uniques in D4 are mostly trash because they have fixed stats you cant get lucky to get good stats. Most uniques have useless stats and are really just TRASH. (even meme legendary effects...)

    All classes have barely no skill decision and are forced to use more defensive skills which makes all builds the same.

    NM dungeons have stupid affixes, thats a game design choice, but it is not really cool or clever.
    For example a lightning which kills you across the map if you are not inside a bubble, you cant split your team to be faster because you might kill your friend. Or the whole team dies because you rush the dungeon and cant go back because of a ladder (good job)

    The game had to be at such a high price, because my standard skins look EXACTLY the same like the ones i can buy for 20 euro and no one ever buys this "cosmetics"
    Im totally real this shop is the worst skin shop I've ever seen.

    This patch should have been done for a season to test it out. If people don't like it they could not played the season. and still played the game. but no they hurt the whole game. sad If it's not fixed a lot people will quit.

    Patch 1.1 is a great lesson on how to destroy a good game that had tons of potential to be a masterpiece.
    DR nerfs should have never happened before fixing the resistances, Damage nerfs should have never happened without introducing the essential QoL features everyone is asking for. Also, they did a very **** job for class balance.

    This is without a doubt the worst Diablo game once you level up. There is literally nothing to do. Parches keep making the game worse and worse and doing literally the opposite of what the community wants. Amazing how bad it is. The latest update must be the worst game update of all time, at least for Blizzard(Activision). Astounding.

Then more and more changes come to the game and make the game more and more painful. So don't buy it. Because you will feel the inflation through this game. Your money just worth less and less.

The picture quality is excellent, and the PC optimization is not bad. The CGs are captivating. Savage was also pretty much what I expected. But until these **** plots to feed you **** over and over again. You will find that you are not playing D4. Until 1 day ago they released the patch for the first season. I really doubt that these schemes are deliberately trying to make players leave the game? I doubt that these planning teams have played D4 at all. Just pick a few from their email to "cut down". I sincerely advise players who are still maintaining a wait-and-see attitude. Don't buy a pile of **** like this. If you really like the Diablo series. Please wait at least 2-3 seasons before purchasing him. Oh, right. For some reason, they fixed the "camel won't bark" bug. I guess they are supposed to report to the boss "Look, I am also working hard to fix this small bug"… Expand

    The game had potential upon release, however with Season01 around the corner it is painfully apparent that all their balance and tweaking decisions are purely driven to sell battle passes and attempt to create artificial retention at the expense of any enjoyment and fun.
    They do not have your best interests at heart, they are loyal to their shareholders.

    Forced to play in online multiplayer at all times in a game where group-play doesn't really feel all that satisfying and I primarily play alone. Add that to all the bad changes and I think I will be abstaining in hopes that this gets sorted out and after a few years becomes half as good as diablo 2 is now.

Why doesn't it have ALL the greatness from the previous games? This game is an actual joke. Its clear they are working their way to introducing microtransactions like their famous mobile version.

    My wife and I have been playing dungeon crawlers and ARPGs for 20'ish years; we love to sit together on the couch and do the grind together.     We *WERE* having a blast, but understood that with the release of the Season 1 patch some of our more OP elements were going to get nerfed. No biggie, we've been doing gaming for a while, we figured we'd adjust and continue playing as we were both excited for the Season 1.

    After the patch installed we sat down to see what we were facing. We played, or rather I should say attempted to play, for a couple of hours. After that point we were both so frustrated that we decided to not play anymore until Blizzard pulls their head out of their butts and fixes this situation. A second order effect of this is that we have irl friends who play also, and they came to the same conclusion: Blizzard has no idea what their player base wants or enjoys.

    They literally destroyed the game with countless of nerfs via 1.1 patch. Players were expecting developments and user friendly features, instead we had an harder game with unbalanced and nerfed classes/defences. Oh it's not easy to obtain gear anymore. I will never ever play the season unless they step back from their bs update.

    How did you come up with the idea of providing players with such a small inventory and storage??? No wonder the rest is just as good as the storage that isn't there..... Ahh and I'm playing sorcerer at lvl 100. I've farmed all sorts of builds together that might be possible but with the latest patch 1.1 the issue has been resolved. sry, but how can you be so stupid??

    I did not buy this Game because I know it will be a dissapointmant. And it did indeed dissapoint. I am still giving it a perfect score because ever idiot buying it did indeed deserve getting a **** game for still supporting Blizzard.

    Since the game did what I expect it is only fair that I give it a perfect score.

    The starting is fine but it goes down bad after you reach world tier 4. And every problem is becoming more and more palpable. Patches are out of touch because they keep making the same excuse "Oh this one is already done we are developing season 12 atm."

    Shame, game had a rocky start but was a super fun experience at the start and it felt like the devs were helping support the community by listening to our woes but was quickly ruined by one update that nerfed everything into the ground, making the game a massive chore. Season 1 looming over and all the hype is dead, hopefully I can change this review in the future, until then.

    Once again Blizzard shows to us that they just lost it... They cannot handle their legendary IP's like they used to, terrible decision making in the balancing team, and it's not their only game that suffers from this, the solo mode is okay and their art team in doing a fantastic work as always but that's about it, i have to be harsh in my rating cause the rest of the game is absolutelyOnce again Blizzard shows to us that they just lost it...     Recent patch removed all the fun. The developers did not listen to the community and only decided to do some number changes which they consider as “big 6000 wording patch notes”, which ruined the fun.. the game is a best seller and that is what they came up with?

    If we only take the campaign and the 1-50 leveling into account the game is a 6,5/10. The first 30 hours are quite fun and the gameplay is good. However after that it just become endless repeating the same content for minimum upgrade. From level 50 to 60 I upgrade my gear maybe a couple of times. Diablo III was better.

    This literally makes me just want to go back to older diablo games rather than play this patch 1.1 makes the game not fun to play for me.
    It didn't hold my attention much but I had more fun playing before the patch and lets say I was bored out of my mind be for the patch this just frustrates me.

    Fun is inexistant cause of nerfs everywhere, always online is bad cause game is not fluid and crash (still thinks of the first hardcore character who got erased cause of that). It looks like the team is more prompt to fix what's good for players (exp farm, builds) but it takes 4 to 6 months to get QoL like gems moved or more chests    I'll give 1 point for the ost and artistic direction.

    I had lots of Fun, but then comes the Season of "Nerfs".
    I played the last day after the nerfs, but this arent any fun... Now its a waste of time. I hope the Devs fix this and announce the fixxes on the Dev Stream on 21 th.

    First of all, the game has a crash timer on PS5. Playing with my wife, if you play longer then 4 hours, you will get a crash.
    Next, last path destroyed the game literally. Slowed everything, the leveling, the killing times, everything, just so you wouldn't be able to complete battlepass and would be forced to buy leveling tiers to finish it in time.     • After the most recent patch, build diversity is ruined going into S1. If you don’t play Druid or Rogue (or a singular Necro build), you’re screwed. Barb & Sorc are useless. • XP/leveling was already a slog since 85 is considered the halfway point. Now it’s even worse. •    Normally I don’t do reviews, but the way this game has been handled is so egregious that I need to say something.

    • After the most recent patch, build diversity is ruined going into S1. If you don’t play Druid or Rogue (or a singular Necro build), you’re screwed. Barb & Sorc are useless.

    • XP/leveling was already a slog since 85 is considered the halfway point. Now it’s even worse. • Itemization is a huge pain. Uniques are too rare and Uber-Uniques are these unicorn items we can never realistically expect to see all of, or even ONE of. They’re not incentivizing in any way. • Communication from the developer feels fake and hollow. They keep saying they hear us, but every update/change rips the fun from the game. Furthermore, they’re super quick to hotfix an issue like shako dropping from helltide chests but can’t fix the reward pool for Druids in a timely manner? They can hotfix less XP in dungeons multiple times but any time we need something to enjoy the game more, it won’t even be explored until S2.

    • Many items and aspects do not impact your build in profound, interesting, meaningful ways. Like most of them are bonus X% damage modifiers which is so pathetic. • On a fundamental level, why are cosmetics like $25+? This is ridiculous.

    • Helltides were nerfed to the point that you cannot earn enough cinders to unlock the biggest reward cache. Allegedly it’s a bug, but there seems to be a LOT of bugs in this game. It seems like they keep editing drop chances and other numerics, only to backpedal and say “oh weird, this is bugged out.” Even when I had a full inventory of Ancient Legendaries from Helltides, only ~1-3 of them would be useful, and maybe only 1 of them was a direct upgrade to my build. If that’s “too easy” and “too many rewards,” then Blizzard straight-up DOES NOT want you to obtain any valuable loot or maintain any semblance of progression. They want you playing a pseudo-game where it feels like you’re always on the cusp of getting somewhere but you never do.

    I could not in good conscience recommend this game to anybody. It is not fun beyond your initial honeymoon phase of novelty & curiosity. Once you understand the game’s main loop, you’ll drop it almost immediately. It’s not rewarding. It doesn’t respect your time. It’s a genuine joke and a mishandled product. I hope they can pull a D3 and salvage this trash heap.    … Expand

    Had high hopes for D4, bought season pass, prepared my build... then they gutted the game 2 days before season, and killed all the hype I had. Unless they mitigate the changes somewhat It's gonna be "Goodbye Blizzard corpos! Hope you choke on my money because it's the last you'll ever see of it." And I know that 90% of community feels the same, just check Reddit, official forums or YT.

    There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
