What was supposed to be a really good game (because the mechanics are not bad) has turned into a sour experience because Blizzard decided to forget everything they have learned during the lifetime of Diablo 3.

Every system in the game is inferior to comparable systems in Diablo 3:
    - Nightmare Dungeons are boring versions of Greater Rifts
    - Builds can't be stored and changing to another build is very convoluted
    - There are no social features, you have to use Discord to find other players whereas in Diablo 3 you could just jump in with 3 other people and have fun
    - etc.

To add insult to injury, the patch before Season 1 made everyone weaker and squishier, removes quality of life and is generally a big slap in the face of players.

Dear Blizzard employees, if anyone ever reads this, please try looking critically at the game and please don't forget what Diablo 3 has achieved in the 10+ years it was being polished. I really hope that Diablo 4 can reach the same heights which Diablo 3 achieved, and soon.

To make matters worse, Diablo 4 managed to strip away the essence of an action role-playing game, delivering a hollow experience without real action or satisfying looting mechanics. The lack of engaging combat and rewarding loot progression leaves players questioning what happened to the beloved franchise they once knew. It's a disheartening departure from the very core that made Diablo games legendary, leaving fans yearning for the days of true action and meaningful loot drops.

They realized people were having way to much fun and were strongly able to beat mid game level content, so they patch and nerf everybody. Sorcerers needed help and instead they buff every single aspect of the class that nobody plays then NERF EVERYTHING FOR EVERY CLASS.

An Unforgivable Letdown: Diablo 4's Latest Patch Earns a 0/10 from a Disheartened Player

As an avid and dedicated player of Diablo 4, I can't help but feel utterly disappointed with the game's latest patch. It seems that Blizzard has ignored the impassioned feedback from the community, resulting in a patch that is nothing short of a disaster. From my perspective, this update has only further tarnished the once-promising title.

One of the most frustrating aspects of this patch is Blizzard's blatant disregard for player feedback. Despite countless pleas and suggestions from the community, the developers have turned a blind eye to our concerns, leaving us feeling unheard and unvalued as players. Blizzard's lack of consideration has sowed the seeds of resentment among the player base regarding the game's future development.

The introduction of new legendaries, or lack thereof, feels like an insult to our dedication and enthusiasm. We were promised exciting and innovative items to enrich our gaming experience, yet what we received were unimaginative and lackluster additions. The joy of discovering powerful new gear has been replaced with disappointment, making the loot hunt feel like an exercise in futility.

To make matters worse, Blizzard has intentionally slowed down the game to an excruciating crawl. What was once an adrenaline-pumping action RPG has now become a tedious slog. The once-thrilling battles have lost their excitement, and the game's pace has been suffocated by unnecessary difficulty spikes. This decision feels like a punishment rather than a challenge, making it impossible to find enjoyment in the game.

Blizzard's design philosophy seems to have taken a disheartening turn. Instead of rewarding players for their dedication and skill, the company appears intent on making us work harder for fewer rewards. It's as if they are intentionally undermining our efforts to artificially prolong the game's lifespan. This "work harder, get less" approach only serves to drive players away, rather than encourage continued engagement.

As an unhappy player, one of the most frustrating aspects is the continuous stream of broken promises from Blizzard. We were led to believe in the game's potential and the developers' commitment to delivering a polished and fulfilling experience. However, each new patch seems to exacerbate existing issues rather than resolving them. This betrayal of trust has left me questioning the future of Diablo 4 and my willingness to continue investing my time and energy into a game that has strayed so far from its initial promises.

In conclusion, Diablo 4's latest patch has proven to be a catastrophic failure from the perspective of an unhappy player. The disregard for player feedback, uninspiring legendaries, intentional game slowdown, questionable design philosophy, and unkept promises have resulted in an experience that feels unrewarding, frustrating, and disheartening. As an impassioned player who once had high hopes for the game, I can only hope that Blizzard will take a serious look at these grievances and take meaningful steps to restore the faith and enjoyment of its player base. Until then, I can't help but give this patch a score of 0/10.

For those that are grinders like myself who enjoy Diablo, I had a few friends message me yesterday and told me they uninstalled and left
"Patch broke my build that I had spent hours on so I could survive T15. I don't have a lot of hours to grind you know that Blu."

"Hey man, I come home from work and I'm exhausted and I just want to have fun and play a game. I didn't sign on to this. It's not fun anymore and I can barely get through a T40 dungeon.
I used to do T50-55 and now I'm just done. I can't do it anymore, I'm out"

Truth be told, I don't even have much of a problem with non-P2W microtransactions, because I have to accept reality that AAA online PvP multiplayer on Playstation will basically only happen if MTX is included. You can thank greedy and lazy "story-driven" developers like Sony Santa Monica for that, because they save so much money by giving us half of the game at full price, and still make bank. So of course, developers that give us the full game are going to monetize the online portion for that extra work. My problem is that I already spent $70 on this mobile game that isn't even close to a true AAA experience, and the greedy developers still have the audacity to add MTX. Seeing how this is an online only mobile game with MTX, it should've been free-to-play. This outrageous greed makes EA and Take-Two look like saints in comparison. At least they have full priced games with actual AAA quality. Battlefront 2 or GTA V alone has better quality than the entire Blizzard catalogue combined. That's embarrassing. Expand

One of the most frustrating aspects of the game is the fact that you have to pay in-game currency to respec your build. This severely limits your ability to experiment with different builds and playstyles. In Diablo 3, you could change your skills at any time, which allowed for a much more fluid and rewarding gameplay experience.

Instead of valuing player feedback, they seemed to ignore the passionate fan base's pleas for certain features, balance adjustments, and improvements. This lack of communication and disregard for the community's desires led to a game that feels like a watered-down version of its predecessors. Core elements that players loved, such as deep character customization, engaging endgame content, and a sense of accomplishment, were either neglected or poorly implemented. As a result, the game lost its charm and the excitement that players once had, leaving them disillusioned and disconnected from a franchise they once cherished. It's truly disheartening to witness a game's potential squandered due to the developers' refusal to embrace player input and deliver an experience that could have been so much more enjoyable.

To add insult to injury, the server stability is laughable. Constant lag spikes and disconnections make the already dull gameplay experience downright frustrating. It's infuriating to see a game with such a big budget and development time fail so spectacularly in basic server management.

In conclusion, Diablo 4 is a pitiful attempt at cashing in on the franchise's name while offering nothing but disappointment to long-time fans. From its lackluster graphics and shallow gameplay to its convoluted plot and predatory microtransactions, there's little redeeming value to be found. As a long-time Diablo fan, I can only hope that this abomination is a wake-up call for the developers to return to the series' roots and deliver a game worthy of the Diablo legacy. I'm 37 years old and I've been playing ARPG's since the early days of Diablo 1 and of course Ultima VII. I grew up having Diablo 2 LAN parties in my basement with my friends where my Mom would make us pizza, and we would descend into the depths of Hell having a grand ol' time. Sadly, Diablo 4, after a smooth launch, just absolutely destroyed their game with this new patch. And I'm going to explain exactly WHY they did this.

Diablo 4's latest patch has everything to do with destroying the Eternal Realm. Yes, the Eternal Realm may seem "less important" because it won't feature these cool seasonal mechanics that we're supposed to enjoy, but, you can't access, you guessed it: The Battle Pass, in the Eternal Realm.

    Big shocker right?

When you start to think logically that all of these "game designs and mechanics" were built around a corporate "for profit" scheme, you will understand that the Blizzard that used to exist, is simply a corpse that has been exploded by the greedy Millionaire/Billionaire Necromancer's, that prop up this corpse of a company.

They sucked the soul out of this game, which actually had a solid foundation, and only needed a few solid tweaks to really solidify it's future, however, these corporate idiots cannot comprehend that empathizing and understanding your player base over making disgusting greedy decisions isn't possible.

Why else would they reduce cooldown reduction by 30%? It's arguably the most important nerf in this new patch. If you can't reset your cooldowns fast enough, you can't use your skills faster, ultimately, slowing down the game and progress you would've made in the game.

Why else would they reduce damage reduction by 25%, and completely gut the Aspect of Disobedience, the best defensive aspect in the game? It's the exact same concept, you die more, so it ultimately takes LONGER to get best in slot gear, and reach late endgame content.

Speaking of endgame content, there is none. This is why they are making these changes. It's why they tried to sneak in capstone dungeon level caps of 40 and 60 without telling us.

It's why they ultimately giga nerfed power leveling, boosting, and group leveling as a whole. Honestly, they just nerfed leveling and XP in general, because they understand that there's not enough content at the end of the game for you to enjoy.

They want to keep you in the game as long as possible, so you have the most amount of exposure to the battle pass, and the more time you're in the game, the more time you will be exposed to the battle pass, and more likely to spend money on cool looking cosmetics for weapons, armor or your horse.

Now the game truly sucks. Everyone is weak and the grind is worse with no tangible reward in sight.

"What am I doing with my time right now?" - this is the question that was on my mind after the patch.

The first major update just killed any progress you had already made and slowed down every fun aspect which was already wearing on being tedious. It already had horrid server connection issues prepatch even if you’re able to download at a rate over 500mbps but now instead of it happening a handful of times a day it’s now a handful of lag spikes every hour at least which doesn’t make sense with how many players are currently legitimately quitting. There is hardly any sort of real support responses on the console side of the support forums; it’s just an overwhelming amount of valid yet repeated complaints or the top 1% who still aren’t playing but occupying their time by telling everyone else how their opinions aren’t valid since their experience wasn’t affected since they already spent all day everyday since pre-release getting perfect gear and solo’ing Uber Lilith without the nerfs.

There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.
