    Holy wow. Detroit become human is the best game I’ve ever played. This graphics are beautiful, the visuals are amazing, the characters are very memorable and everything is unique. No matter how many years pass, this game has a truly special place in my heart.

    This game is a masterpiece. I can easily say, it is the best game I have played until today.

    The graphics are stunning - but thats not, what makes a game awesome. Neither is the music - though both graphics and music help a lot to create a world you want to dive into and that gives you goosebumps. The story is what makes a game awesome! And the story is great. I couldn't put the controller aside during my first playthrough. You really feel connected to the characters and feel their pain, joy - just every emotion. With every chapter new turns in the story came about. You can barely grasp the depth of the game in your first playthrough, seeing the possibilities for each mission to end in the diagram shown at the end. And these possibilities will make you play the game over and over and over just to experience every possible ending to every mission. Sometimes you will laugh, sometimes you will cry - but for sure you will never feel bored.

    Классический "бади-муви" с большой вариативностью. Главное положительное нововведение это схема/дерево сюжета. теперь игру можно пройти на 100% не опасаясь того, что "что-то возможно я пропустил?"

    Some of the best visuals I've ever seen in a video game. Enjoyed the cinematic video game experience. The game felt very well put together and constructed. On the downside, the game sometimes felt too melodramatic though and a bit slow. Overall, it had an interesting narrative take on the future of androids.

    nul, ultra cliché et prétentieux. Malgré de belles ambitions au niveau des graphismes et du nombre d'arcs narratifs, j'ai trouvé l'histoire très mauvaise avec des personnages caricaturaux et des thèmes abordés de façon beaucoup trop manichéenne pour être pris au sérieux.

    Ce jeu prends le spectateur pour un imbécile et lui impose un point de vue malgré l'illusion de choix multiples.

You won't get the full experience just by playing through it once. This is one of the best graphically great looking games during the PS4 console generation. Yes this game is a big racial allegory and depends on how you receive how it betrays the message. Every main character can live or die depending on your choices.… Expand

    Detroit become human is special. the choices are done prefectly and they actually effect the story in major ways unlike most games with choices. You play as 3 characters, Connor, Kara and Markus. They have their own personal stories which collide in the end.     One of the most gorgeous games I ever played. Story gripped me from start to finish. The amount of work that goes into these kinds of games & their branching storylines blows my mind. I can replay it the same way & still see new things occur. Fantastic

Мне она понравилось тем что она захватает, то есть тебе интересно что будет дальше, ты можешь сам выбирать что делать, что сказать из-за чего ты чувствуешь себя Конаром, Кэрой или Маркусом потому что почти всё ты выбираешь сам. Мне не сильно понравилось что нету каких-то трагичных моментов, но возможно это из-за того что я прошел игру наИгра классная, но экшона на 10% от всего сюжета.     I've played this after 13 Sentinels which is masterpiece in visual storytelling. Playing this afterwards just made all the storytelling flaws more apparent. I didn't explore all possible outcomes - after playing it once and getting mostly positive ending I've was fed up with how silly the game was. It has very naive writing but takes itself too seriously. It prefaces everything saying it'sI've played this after 13 Sentinels which is masterpiece in visual storytelling. It has very naive writing but takes itself too seriously. It prefaces everything saying it's not just a story - it's our future. If it was just some wild fantasy that doesn't really take itself too seriously it would be easier to swallow.

    They haven't change anything about gameplay since Heavy Rain. You still trigger actions when trying to look around with camera, because the same stick is used to look around. And sometimes you want to activate an action and instead move the camera. You still get random prompts to press buttons at random times, which in theory try to emulate what the character is doing, but it never gets some understandable gameplay language. Sometimes the same action will require different buttons, sometimes it won't require any presses at all. For example there is one mechanic I really liked where androids can pre-calculate set of actions and then perform them perfectly. But in one instance you still get button prompts afterwards.

    I know games can get strong emotional response from me, but unfortunately Detroit managed to get slight one from me only once, near the end of Kara's story.

    I really liked the inclusion of flowchart, but it could be less stingy with checkpoints. You cannot save the game normally, you cannot skip dialogues, you cannot fastforward already seen scenes in any way, so exploring other paths is really boring and slow - you have to relive the same scenes almost fully just to get some minor change at one point.

    As a good point, this game had a lot less inconsistencies than Heavy Rain.    … Expand

    Best game I've ever played, so much emotion from every single character in this game. You really learn to love characters. This is the first game I've found emotion in and been so heavily invested into a character. This is the best game I've played so many details and extra features I definetely recommend.

    I bought this game back in 2018 and only now decided to jump in it and wow, absolutely loved it. Really interesting Story and all characters are interesting and engaging. I got hooked immediately. It is not a fast paced game and it is indeed kind of playing a film more than a classic game, yet, I highly recommend it.

    This is one of if not the best stories i have ever seen in a game, graphics are absolutely amazing so is the world building. Its said to contain over 1000 different combinations, so it is a very long game if you're willing to replay it. The characters are very good (except North, shes super annoying). The gimmick between Connor and Hank is fantastic. It's a point and click adventure and barely a game tbh. It's rather generic and gets repetitive after three chapters in. It's becoming a chore to finish it as the storylines are pathetic as well.     The gameplay is mostly pressing the correct buttons but the cutscenes and the choices you make and how they impact the story and characters are enjoyable and there is a ton of endings too making players play the game again while doing different choices and the game's graphics are fantastic definitely a must-play for both ps4 and pc users

    The game is awesome I liked the story and how you can't really die and if you die the story continues I liked how I could choose the fate of my characters and the play time of 16 hours is fine and the graphics is so incredible for a 2018 game.

    Really deep story about an impossible uprising and one of the very games that i found myself emotionaly attached to.
    You should play it without any guides or redos, live with your choices and move until the end.
    Graphics and sound are one of a kind but of course the Gameplay itself is not very demanding as it is more an interactive movie.

    Amazing game, it's my favorite game of all time in fact. Some missions can be a little dull compared to the rest of the game, but as a whole I LOVE it and different choices add replayability.

    My first playthrough I had a very negative outcome and lost nearly all of my characters. This game does a really good job of sucking you into the story and making you actually care about your characters and what happens to them. There are so many different paths to take and it was an overall great experience exploring the different outcomes and alternate endings in this game.

    The flowchart was a great touch and they make it super easy to start from a specific point in the game with the story checkpoints, this makes exploring alternate decisions very easy. Great story. great message and I'm excited to see what's next from Quantic Dream    … Expand

    Для меня игра не приблизилась к уровню Heavy Rain. Сюжетная линия за Маркуса не зацепила вообще, некоторые миссии хотелось скипнуть. Так же раздражают и клише заезженные. Линия за Кэру и Алису - уже лучше, но все еще не отлично. За Коннора - очень хорошо. За него всю игру хотел бы пройти. Все три линии ну не связываются вместе в конце, некоторое разочарование есть, все, что с КонноромДля меня игра не приблизилась к уровню Heavy Rain. I completed the game several times and still there are complete chapters I never got to play because the game is so expansive and the consequences for your actions take you into never ending gameplay variants that will get you hooked time and time again.     The story is very memorable and engaging, forcing the player to question and make decisions in difficult situations and whether you are making the right decision. The visuals and music were also great. I connected more with Kara and Markus' story as I felt Connor's was too focused on Hank. Except for the crime reconstructions there's really nothing to it other than some QTEs and button prompts. The controls themselves are an issue as well. Walking feels sluggish and even though it's not much of the gameplay I was genuinely shocked at how aGenuinely surprised by how mediocre this game is. I got it for free recently and decided to give it a shot. There's barely any gameplay. Except for the crime reconstructions there's really nothing to it other than some QTEs and button prompts. The controls themselves are an issue as well. Walking feels sluggish and even though it's not much of the gameplay I was genuinely shocked at how a game of this caliber could have controls as awful as whatever happens when you have to push that wheelchair. The choices mostly feel hollow and inconsequential, and the story is heavy handed.… Expand

There is a lot of story writing errors though, for examples, not explaining what rA9 is. I think the writer left it to the players to decide what it could be, but that just ends up leaving many confused. Also, Alice was a android the whole time was a good idea, but the writer made a few mistakes on details that didn't make sense on why Alice did human things like eat and need sleep if she was an android. But a handful of errors does not takeaway the fact that as a whole, Detroit is a great game. My favorite parts are when you are Connor, I love to solve mysteries and anyone who is a fan of mysteries might find these chapters to be a lot of fun. Replay value for me was slim, I got bored trying to replay the game being a violent deviant since most of the story is the same, just different endings per chapter. I wish there was a skip option for any cutscenes that you've done before. I loved heavy rain and any fans of that game will like this one as well. Graphics are good and will age well overtime unlike heavy rain and beyond two souls. Can't wait to see the future games of Quantic Dreams… Expand

    I'm playing that on PS5 and I'm impressed. Very realistic faces. Probably the best I've seen in a game. It's impressive it has been developed for PS4. Environment is not that great, but still very good. UI animation and design is superb. Gameplay is something fresh for me.

    A very solid 9. It's the kind of video games that pushes the boundaries of storytelling. The story is engaging and changes hugely with your choices. The flowchart is well executed and shows you hints of what you have missed... I went back the day after finishing it to try again with different choices.
    The soundtrack is very good too. Graphics on PS4 Pro are good, although we've seen better.

I've also played this on my ps5 and in one of the final scenes it crashed the entire console (turning it completely off on its own).     Unfortunately, somewhere around one third or one half of the way through, it totally falls apart for me. The dialogue just repeatedly hits you over the head with the themes and the narrative, in my opinion, proves completely unable to handle the sheer amount of choices you can make with three playable characters. This game feels like playing a "choose your own adventure" movie more than any other game, but it just doesn't really come together and you're better off just watching one the Blade Runner movies. I think this would have been much better if you only could control Connor and Kara, and the story was only about Connor trying to catch Kara. Or, maybe it would be even better if you only controlled Connor in that scenario. Connor often feels like the most interesting to me because he is torn between hunting androids and being one himself (watch Blade Runner). The Markus storyline has its moments, but it becomes too big of a story to work with this amount of choice. In my playthrough at least, the Kara storyline ended up feeling like an afterthought that didn't fit in.

    Not to mention that with so many different choices you can make, the main beats of the story are nonetheless the same. I recently replayed the Last of Us, and I think the fact that I felt more conflicted about the choice I was forced to make at the end of that game than I was with any choice I made in this game says it all. I respect the ambition, and I'll always remember a few moments like that opening hostage negotiation, but ultimately this game doesn't work for me.    … Expand

    It's one of the truly branched story driven games, in which your actions have actual consequences and mistakes counts for your game progression. There is no game over in this game, so you must deal with the consequences of your errors and wrong choices. This is a great great game!

The characters and the story are all amazing, even if it sometimes feel weird due to the nature of choice your own story games. Overall, Detroit: Become Human is one of the best games of this genre.

    The characters are diverse and complex in their own right, I personally found Kara to be the most interesting character in the story, while many found Connor to be their favorite. I platinumed the game and filled in all of the flow chart so as not to miss any of the story elements or endings, and I can only assume that many didn't, which could be the reason some didn't fully understand the narrative.

    David Cage is the subject of much derision for some reason amongst video gamers, I'm not really certain why, as his games are the best story telling that video gaming has to offer. Writers like Neil D'man could see a massive benefit by studying under his tutelage before trying to strike out on their own, but I digress.

    Overall this is the best game of the eighth generation, if there is only one game that you play -- play this one!    … Expand

Detroit is less philosophic than drama, with very human androids, which was kind of a downer to me, but doesn't make it less of an awesome experience.
    Things I didn't like, though, were the inconsistency with dialogue choices, which are often very vague and only described by 1-2 words. This led me to say things in-game that I never intended to. Also the quick-time-events (QTEs) often hinder game-flow and distract rather than compliment a (fight) scene. I would've also liked to explore a bit more, the "mode" that shows you everything that can be interacted with completely stops the game and you're often forced to go somewhere instead of just looking around. Something contextual, that signifies story-progress would've helped here.
    Things I definitely liked, though, were the main menu (how boring that sounds), with an android who has insightful things to say when you boot up the game, but who also challenges your beliefs of androids as the game goes on. The characters in-game look terrifyingly beautiful, it's no Last of Us, but I think that Detroit is in my personal Top 5, when it comes to character animations and appearances. The story is actually branching, with several entrance or exit points being barred from you as you decide your way through the game, something I have never seen at this scale in a videogame before, maybe in some critically acclaimed RPGs, but not in this genre of videogame. Lastly, it made me feel a lot of different emotions, from grief, to happiness, to thrill, and beyond. I was enthralled with every scene, every (mis)step I took, especially when I swore to not kill anybody, but then saw myself with no choice after I was pressured.
    This game is one of the best narrative games I've ever played. It has some weaknesses in its narrative, but the concept, design, and execution are just brilliant and should be an industry standard for AA - AAA games.    … Expand

    The story is phenomenal in this game, I really started caring for the characters and I'm glad I was able to get the best ending. I would recommend multiple playthroughs.
    The gameplay and mechanics are good too, there are fixed camera angles and not much interesting things to interact with but it is necessary for this genre and type of game.
    Overall, very good.

It looked amazing, had great storytelling, and unlike those Telltale games actually really had tons of different endings---something like 85 endings. It's pretty devastating to have your character die and not be able to load an old save.     It could always be better but not by much. This game brought me to tears and it has great replay ability. It also has a choices map that shows you paths you’ve already gone down. I know this style isn’t for everyone but it blends decisions and gameplay together nicely.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Its taken me a while to get round to this game as its been part of my backlog for 2 plus years now but as with many other games, lockdown has allowed me to finally play through it.

    This is an odd game to review due to the nature of the 'chose your own adventure' storytelling but I will try my best! During my playthrough I went in entirely blind and did not go back on any choices made until I saw the credits role for the first time. This is how the game suggests you should play and I would definitely have to agree. It does a great job at making you care for the characters and is constantly reminding you that every choice you make is extremely important. As is the case with most games that follow this infrastructure many endings can leave you feeling unsatisfied however if you find yourself actively wanting to go back and re-attempt areas in order to achieve a better outcome for the characters. If this happens to you as it did me it will become abundantly clear that the game has made you attached to these characters. You actually care what happens to them and want a happy ending for them all though I still would have liked it if some of the 'bad' endings felt more fulfilling.

    The game follows 3 main characters, Markus, Connor and Kara. Throughout the game you follow them one at a time in a chapter style format. I was surprised as to how long it took for any of the characters to interact with each other though it did mean that adequate time was provided to build up these characters backstories and personalities before throwing them into a sort of crossover event. This meant that when they finally did meet it felt more rewarding. Think Avengers meeting Guardians of the Galaxy compared to Rey meeting Po in The Last Jedi. The first has a brilliant 'feel good' affect on the audience as these characters have been followed individually beforehand through several movies and it feels like less of an afterthought and more of a planned meeting. The second feels like purely an afterthought. Like the director suddenly realised at the last minute that these characters hadn't me yet. Personally for me Detroit falls close to Marvel's level of satisfaction.

    While there are over 80+ ways the story can go it is still obvious that the story will, for the most part, follow the same structure assuming you don't allow characters to die. Following these stories was quiet the emotional roller-coaster and my opinions on each of the characters journeys reflected this as I was constantly changing which one I was most invested in. At the beginning of my playthrough Kara's story had me hooked the most however, by the end of the game I found her story overall to be the weakest of the 3. One major development of her story was when the little girl Alice was revealed to be an android. Personally I wasn't a fan of this 'revelation' as I felt it was unnecessary and created plot holes that were never answered and that didn't have to exist in the first place. Connors story on the other hand started slow however ended up being my favourite out of the three weather I chose to keep him deviant or not. I also enjoyed the larger connection of his and Markus' stories when compared to Kara. It was another reason as to why I felt her story began to lose steam during the last third of the game as it really had no where else to go and surprisingly has a more distant role in the overall story. Towards the end it felt more 'sidequesty' and as a result I thought it dragged on.

    Its worth noting a gameplay element that I can't ignore as it got on my nerves a number of times despite how trivial it may seem. The scanning feature when exploring an area that highlights points of interest and brings up the objective menus is horribly implemented as the game grinds to a stop and everything freezes whenever it is opened. This really started to get on my nerves during my 20 hour playthrough as it slowed down a game that's already relatively slow in the gameplay department due to the movement speed of all three characters. It baffles me how this stayed in the game as to me there is no logical explanation for this to happen and if anything just demotivates you to explore the environments for clues that can unlock completely new story lines.

    I wanted to quickly touch on the writing. In a game with this many possible paths to take I would expect some to be better written and others to have a noticeable dip in quality however, with all the routes I experienced I never found one to be worse than another. When it came to the writing of the characters they stayed consistent throughout and because of this the experience felt a lot more authentic.

    Overall I really enjoyed my time with Detroit: Become Human and the ideas it presents within its 3 interlinked stories. It may be a pre-existing way of story telling however I would say Detroit nails the execution and deserves more recognition as one of the PS4's stand out titles    … Expand

I saw it was on discount on Epic Games Launcher and decided to use my £10 Christmas Coupon on it. It ended up being a brilliant deal after picking it up for only £10 and I can tell you I wouldTo say this game is phenomenal would be an understatement. I did experience consistent crashing when trying to launch it from the Epic Games Launcher but this issue was easily overcome by launching the game through the games folder and running as administrator.

    The decisions made in the game from start to finish tweak the path of the story in small amounts and the big decisions are easily recognisable so you can get a good ending relatively easy. The games graphics are breath-taking and are incredibly realistic when playing on ultra (most players with modern computers will be able to easily run ultra). I really made some stupid decisions in the first of the playthroughs I have done and was able to easily go back into the flowchart feature in the main menu and change any decision I made by just selecting the chapter and then the checkpoint. The game advises you to complete the game once before going back in the flowcharts so you don't break the immersion and I absolutely agree, even though I made some poor decisions I stuck with it till the end and I don't regret it.

    To conclude, this game is a MUST HAVE if you are into story games. The story is diverse and incredibly grasping to the player with you taking responsibility for the actions of the characters you play. I found myself on the edge of my seat when being pressured to make a risky decision under a specific time limit.     I love this game! I also like unlocking different story paths. I hope they make a sequel for this.

    Detroit: Become Human delivers a story with a ton of possible choices, and a lot of questions for a player to bear afterward. If you like it when games make you think about them after you play them, this is the game for you. Stunning visuals and music score, make you forget about some weaker points of the game. But all in all, it is an enjoyable experience you should not miss.

    Detroit: Become Human looks and sounds great, and includes key player choices throughout, though it could have benefited greatly from a tighter script. While it’s commendable that Quantic Dream tried to cover hot-button issues in a big-budget video game, it works better when focused on the personal character moments than the bigger themes that don’t dig deep enough to make a meaningful impact.

    Although the narrative is fairly linear, there are enough branching paths over the course of the game to make it feel like your actions matter. That allows Detroit to still be fun even on multiple playthroughs – and for an interactive movie, that’s a rare praise. [Issue#231, p.68]
