    Spectacular stories in this one. All incredibly unique and all are very thrilling. Felt like I was in a movie and I was the main character.

    It has become my new addiction. It’s amazing that you can really feel like you’re in the game and your choices matter.
    I have played the beginning 4x now and get different scenarios each time that I didn’t before. Sometimes you’ll miss clues and things which keep you from unlocking a new chapter, then whatever way you decide to go decides your fate. It’s a great game. Keeps you on your toes and the graphics are amazing! My man caught me playing and he only plays things like COD and destiny etc.. and he said wow the graphics are amazing. Also my 13 year old nephew loves this game too. So men, women, and even teens will love this game. I will say it is very violent, drugs are a big part of the storyline and it’s bad as*! Def check it out! The only thing I wish I could change was I wish I could choose how my character looks, but still an amazing game!

    Oh and I also wish that I could have multiple games going at once, that way when and if I wanna do a chapter over and decide a different fate, I don’t have to play from that point on then. I wish I could have multiple save games going so that I can choose to have one game to completion and one game to check out different endings and situations without losing all my new progress.    … Expand

    Graphically stunning, but suffers from bad writing and stif performances. The pathetic way it sometimes tries to pull your heartstrings are laughably bad, but for a lot of the time the story is pretty interesting. The sad thing that it comes down to is that the narritive just doesn't diverge enough for it to justify it's existence as a interactive story, and would this be released as a tvGraphically stunning, but suffers from bad writing and stif performances. If you make a "bad" choice the outcome is so obviously awful that you really don't feel like the path you are taking is a whole different story in of itself. This is illustrated by the fact that if you make a "bad" decision the flowchart you follow just becomes less complete. Still, the animation and environments are a technical marvel. I would recommend this to people who like high concept sci-fi movies like the matrix with a descent hero's journey, but this is definitely not the game for me.… Expand

    The graphics are great, the story is immersive, the characters have personality, and you did it very well to play 3 characters at the same time. It fascinates even a player like me who doesn't like interactive movies. It's a masterpiece and the cheap price and replayability are very good. deserves the rating.

    Detroit: Become Human is an incredible work of art, featuring advanced branching stories across three likeable protagonists. The graphics, story, sound design and gameplay are all incredibly solid and this is certainly Quantic Dream's greatest effort. Very very good game

It has good characters, kinda mixes the good in heavy rain with some characters arcs but also the good in beyond two souls and they get likeable characters as well. The pacing is pretty good, the gameplay is much more fun than before, the investigation scenes with the music are **** amazing

    Very engaging story and gameplay, I feel like the game is a bit short and at the later part of the game it had some glitches and problems even when playing on PS5. But that's only minuses I can give, apart from that a fantastic game.

    The amount of work that must have gone into Detroit: Become Human must have been enormous! It looks spectacular! And for the first time I underastand and quite enjoy what David Cage is going for with his projects.     It looks spectacular! And for the first time I underastand and quite enjoy what David Cage is going for with his projects. I own his prior two games via PS Plus, but I never wanted to play them. I dislike the controls. I still do. But I don't mind them in this game, at least.

    The stories told about the characters which drive these stories are so gripping and so human that you really want to play this title in one playthrough. To fully engage with these chareacters ... every little thing you do or don't do has real and long lasting consequences like I have never experienced it in another game before!
    On top of that, Detroit: Become Human has many branching paths for each of the three character stories which also heavily crossover and intertwine with eachother. So, there are a lot of permutations to enjoy. But not just for a different ending but a completely different playing experience.

    I am really looking forward to what this studio will be doing with the hardware of the Playstation 5!    … Expand

    QTE events with no option to retry challenges is the death of this game for me. Love it all but the fact that developers feel the need to fabricate pressure with QTE events has never made sense to me. The whole thing is choices matter. Let me fix that for you... choices matter 30%. Fast fingers and understanding how you need to wave the remote matter more.

    I had low hopes for this game, but I was absolutely astounded on how amazing this game is. What a truly outstanding piece of art. There is just something special about making choices in this game, and seeing how massively they impact the story. The story in itself is great. The visuals are awesome.     The game allows you to choose your own ending. Each decision has an affect on the outcome of each character and that’s what makes this game so good. Allowing you to have a different ending to others means it can’t really be spoilt and you can enjoy the game to its fullest.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. "Detroit: Become Human isn’t a game, it’s an experience." This or similar banal phrase may frequently be heard about Quantic Dream’s most recent title. And it’s actually not wrong, in case we don’t take it as a praise. Detroit definitely isn’t a game, but the question is what does it want to be, and I’m not sure whether the developers can answer, as the gameplay is too dull for a game, limiting to walking back and forth around corridor-type locations and pressing buttons to progress through the dialogues and QTEs, and the plot is quite fragile for a worthy movie, as its setting is made rather poorly (at least some grounding for now-dying Detroit becoming a world’s capital of futuristic technologies by 2038 would be nice), its backstory isn’t even a bit sophisticated (the game doesn’t show you how and why do androids develop human feelings, it just tells you - they do), and it doesn’t mind forgetting something established within the game’s universe if it’s needed (e.g. Markus is clearly shown to need to physically contact an android to turn them into a deviant, but at some point he just starts to turn entire hordes of androids remotely). And yes, Detroit: Become Human is an experience. A disappointing, unpleasant experience of playing through the game preferring to push on some ‘tragedy’ to cover its unsustainable plot and hide its mediocre gameplay behind ‘nonlinearity’. Yes, the most painful thing about Detroit: Become Human is that it’s not fully nonlinear. Of three main storylines, only Connor’s feels totally free, as you’re able to choose between both sides while playing as him, and you aren’t while playing through Kara’s and Markus’ paths. Whether you want it or not, Kara will become the deviant, flee, approach certain people, etc (though in her story you may at least choose between saving her life only and helping Alice and Luther as well), and the endings when she gets captured by Zlatko or dies feel more like a game over than an independent finale. And while Kara’s story is actually somewhat nonlinear, Markus’ one is disappointingly straightforward until the very denouement. Your choices have almost zero weight until he joins Jericho, but since then not too much will change, as your choices will only be affecting his position within that movement hierarchy, not the fate of the rebellion, as it will continue, with or without Markus, and its destiny is actually in Connor’s hands, not his. These intricacies of the branching trees show that the game might have actually become much more nonlinear. However, despite Detroit is too straightforward for an interactive drama, it actually manages to achieve that level of attention to detail when the game’s replay potential becomes almost limitless, as no two playthroughs will be totally identical if you respond a couple of dialogues differently. The other really strong part of the game is its amazing visuals and a decent sound design, and those who provided them deserve only glorification for their work. Returning to the epigraph of this review, I can tell Detroit: Become Human IS an experience, but not necessarily a positive one.… Expand

They believe the androids are soulless and hold zero value to synthetic life. Till eventually an android breaks from his coding, killing his abusive owner and running away. Creating the first “Deviant” and the first free will android.

    Detroit Become Human has you live and play through three different arching storylines that have their own unique challenges and life decisions. More along the lines of an interactive movie, Detroit Become Human involves the player to really shape the outcome of the game. Every choice you make will change how people interact with your character and the ultimate climax of the story.

    Bouncing between the three main characters of Kara, Connor and Markus; You witness how the world treats androids and how more of them are becoming deviant. Dealing with free will, if a machine can have feelings, or if a program life of an android can really be alive. Will androids submit to their programming and remain property and slaves to their owners? Will you push forward to break the cycle and fight for equal rights? How far will you go to protect another life?

    I absolutely loved playing through this game. So much so I debated doing a second run to see how the story would change with different decisions but I really don’t want to change what I experienced. There are big moments and situations that are shocking. Sometimes making me pause the game after a chapter to really digest what happened. I think I’ve convinced Ciara to play so I can watch her story unfold in a different way with the choices she makes.

    There is one major flaw (which is common in many games these days): When your objective is for example to find a shelter, and you are left in a rainy street during night, you can push the scan button and see a few markers placed in the world. Instead of exploring the world and really searching for a shelter, you just need to go to the yellow markers    It could have been a real stunner.

    Even worse is that not only the markers are placed but also when your objective is to "clean the house" you also see "sub-objectives" like: wash dishes, empty trash...

    And that's on "immersive" game-setting. If they limited the "scanning" and reduce the objectives, it would be such a pleasure to explore the stunning world. Instead, its just another "follow the pointer" game.

    I hate this with many games. While other games would be unplayable without the markers (e.g. Witcher 3) the World of Detroit is dense enough and delivers all you need to play the game without any UI.    … Expand

Choices have a big impact on your progress in the game and can really make or break your experience keeping you glued to the screen from start to finish.     This is a really amazing video game. The writing and acting are superb and the fact that you get to make so many decisions that affect the way the story plays out makes Detroit Become Human one of the most immersive games out there.

    I, for one, really liked the game. Not only are the graphics top-notch (in general, I care more about the story than about the graphics, anyway), but there is also a huge number of (sometimes quite hard!) choices you can make that affect your story in often unexpected ways. The game doesn't take either side of the conflict, but instead invites the player to draw their own conclusions and build their own opinion about the issues that are addressed in the game, which I really welcomed.

    After each mission I played, and of course after finishing the game for the first time, I always reflected and thought about the choices I made. There were situations where I genuinely regretted making a specific choice, as well as situations where I made a good choice and felt relieved. All in all, it's a very emotional game (which is a good thing for me).

    I wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone who likes this genre and is interested in technological themes. I can tell that the developers put a lot of effort and thought into the making of this game, which is quite rare for a game nowadays, so that is a huge plus for me as well. Hopefully there will be more games like this in the future. It's a true and well-deserved 10/10!

The best graphs I've already seen in a game, and a story that you can change with every single action you perform. You going to play 3 completely different characters, Markus (revolutionary), Connor (investigation) and Kara (social), and their stories are intricate somehow, that they will cross each other story line in some point of the game. It is amazing the construction of each character and how you can change completely the destiny of them while playing. For instance, you can finish the Kara story line at her 3rd chapter-scene (She can have a total of 11 chapters). I appreciated this game so much that I started to play another game from it developer - Quantic Dream - Beyond Two Souls, and already purchased also Heavy Rain. I played 3 times the game and found different "ends" for all characters the 3 times I've played. I marked with quotes the "ends" because your options during the game don't shape just the "end" of the story of each character, but all their performance.

    Pros - If you like:
    - Deep story games, play this;
    - Decision make/results games, play this;
    - Outstanding graphs, play this;
    - Deep intricate relations between characters, play this;
    - Play for hours the same game, play this;
    - Play a game casually and don't spent so many time, play this;
    - If you want to control every step of a character in a game, play this;
    - If you like many options of endings, play this; and
    - If you like good play lists, play this.

    Cons:
    It was really hard to find a single Cons for this game, but I would say that is a great challenge to remain all important characters alive until the end of the game, specially without the guidance of a walkthrough.    … Expand

    As a person who mostly plays multiplayer shooters all the time, this story felt really different. The fact that every decision could impact the ending of the whole story really puts more pressure on the decisions you make. Though most of the game is just pushing and pulling your joystick in weird ways and swiping through magazines with the touchpad, this game was a nice change.     Almost the best game i played, the graphics looks really the future even in 2018, the story is very great, the gameplay qte's are quite of challenging enough, and the whole choices of ending are really wrapped up good.

    Essentially it is more a interactive movie than a game. The story was so incredible good, that the gameplay is getting lost any focus. Quantic Dreams made a fantastic job, can’t wait for the next title.

    What an absolute journey this is! I got my PS5 this year and despite always having a PS4, I had never got around to Detroit: Become Human, with the excitement of having a PS5, I got PS Plus and found that Detroit was included for free with this subscription so felt like a sign almost that I need to play the game.

    Story - I will avoid spoiler territory of course but I have never seen a    What an absolute journey this is! I got my PS5 this year and despite always having a PS4, I had never got around to Detroit: Become Human, with the excitement of having a PS5, I got PS Plus and found that Detroit was included for free with this subscription so felt like a sign almost that I need to play the game.

    Story - I will avoid spoiler territory of course but I have never seen a game have this many branches in how it can play out. I felt very attached to our main 3 characters in Marcus, Kara and Connor as well as their individual journeys. Each of the actors who brought them to life did an amazing job and I truly was behind them the whole way. There are certain moments in the game where you need to use quick time events and doing something incorrectly enough times could lead to an outcome you don't want, and making any kind of mistake while doing these quick time events filled me with so much anxiety and that was because I truly cared about getting the best possible result for these characters, I cared that much. My only real complaint from this is that while Marcus and Kara had a goal I was behind, Connor was pretty much the opposite of what they and I wanted, and because of the conflict between these, I found it hard to play as Connor just because his ambitions didn't match those of the other two that I agreed with. Not a big problem, just something that I felt left me failing some of Connor's "missions" whereas I could've passed should I have done what the game wanted me to do. Outside of the story, just the world itself is incredible, I love how they tackle some pretty serious issues using their story elements as a way to do so, it is so interesting just to look around at everything.

    Graphics and Performance - Its hard to deny that this is easily one of the more beautiful games you will see, even just the faces of each character, so much detail is in them and you can easily detect when certain characters might be feeling a certain way based on their expressions. The overall look and design of the world is outstanding too. As for performance, I didn't have any major issues aside from one crash and some framerate problems when the game started to have some more action oriented scenes, it was a little irritating just because you had to make some quick time event moves here that led to some bad outcomes if you failed, but other than that it was fine.

    Music - A very beautiful soundtrack can be found here and if you have played games like Heavy Rain or Beyond: Two Souls then you will know already how much care and attention is put into the music that goes with the story and world, it is pulled off really well here, maybe not as memorable as Heavy Rain but still some truly amazing scores that hit real hard during the more intense moments of the game.

    Replayability - Just a little side section here but the branching paths for the story are pretty incredible, after each chapter you are shown this huge tree of branching storylines that indicate where it could've gone, yet they leave those blank as to encourage replayability. I will say that I am not currently interested in going back and playing the game again, mainly due to me having plenty of other games to play, but for those of you who do want to have a game where so many outcomes are possible, this is the game for you. I went on Reddit after finishing the game and just had so much fun reading over other people's story outcomes. There are cases where main characters die quite early on and it is wild to see how these events could happen differently to my own. I am mostly satisfied with the ending I received, I feel that the game truly had consequences based on the decisions I made which is a great thing.

    Final Review - I enjoyed this game so much that I would very much be down for a tv series based on this world, or even a set of novels. There is so much more to this that I want to explore and learn. Throughout the whole game we learn about a war between the US and Russia but it isn't the focus point of the story, just a side thing you can read about on various magazine articles, but there is clearly a lot that can be taken from this idea and put into something else. This game is highly recommended from me, especially if you really enjoy story based games like this.    … Expand

    To me, "Detroit: Become Human" earns the title as one of the best PS4 exclusives, not only of 2018, but ever released. The theme, characters, direction, and storytelling fluently combines with a system of "build-up story choices" that only enhances its atmosphere and gameplay, as well.

    The story is split into three characters, each having very different themes and feeling. None are groundbreaking, but they are all genuinely solid stories, which weave into the others at various points in the game.
    The game is primarily split into 3 different types: Choices, Point and Click, and Quicktime Events.
    The number of meaningful choices available in this game is massive, and many of these choices will fundamentally change the story, as opposed to just putting a new coat of paint on the same story, as many games do. My first playthrough only took about 8 hours to complete, but left me feeling like there was so much left to experience, and so the next day I completed a second playthrough, with entirely different events happening.
    The point and click sections are mainly used as a transition between the other two. I don't have much to say about those. They work fine, the movements are fluid.
    The quicktime events are great. Some people dislike QTEs in videogames, but I found that in Detroit they allowed for much more cinematic, exciting action sequences that wouldn't be possible within the realms of standard gameplay. They are well utilised, with high quality stunt acting.
    The music and acting is phenomenal. The game has 3 composers, one for each character, to give each a unique feel. The great acting by the main characters, as well as that by side characters, is brought to life through their use of motion capture, which allows them to capture every small twitch from the actors, allowing for much more subtle acting.
    Detroit Become Human certainly has some minor flaws, and it won't be for everybody. For most, though, it is an extremely well crafted game which I personally loved. I would recommend it to anybody who has an interest in branching, personalised narratives    … Expand

One missing thing ( ATTENTION imho) is: during gameplay I didn’t notice any aggressive humans behavior directed to other humans (ok some “human” characters had small verbal altercations, but nothing more). I mean there is no hate to any social group, no “race” problems and etc. It seems like people can feel animosity only to droids. In world of Detroit all people’s conflicts were vanished. I wish people in Detroit were more alive. Rest in piece Humanity.… Expand

This game could've got a 10/10 if it didn't have a stupid story. Like the Alice plot twist when you find out that she's a robot is so stupid. Or in the part where Connor chases Kara and every cop us just standing and watching Connor chase her. 80% of the cutscenes in the game are people crying but there's no emotion. I barely felt any emotion despite the voice acting being very good so I give the game a 7… Expand

    The locations are the best thing on this game, you really fell you re in that world. I have mixed feelings with the story, you can lead to in depth plots or just shallow finals. The start can be a little boring.

    Overall VERY good video game. Possibly the most "movie" like video game I've ever played. Story is phenomenal. Don't go into thinking you're going to be playing some high action shooter and you'll probably love it. Highly recommend.

    Gorgeous visuals, smooth gameplay and excellent character development. It was an enjoyable 10-12 hour play through. The story however became too big for its own self and undermined the excellent character development in the end. Wouldn't recommend paying full price but worth a look on Playstation Plus Collection.

    Detroit: Become Human delivers a story with a ton of possible choices, and a lot of questions for a player to bear afterward. If you like it when games make you think about them after you play them, this is the game for you. Stunning visuals and music score, make you forget about some weaker points of the game. But all in all, it is an enjoyable experience you should not miss.

    Detroit: Become Human looks and sounds great, and includes key player choices throughout, though it could have benefited greatly from a tighter script. While it’s commendable that Quantic Dream tried to cover hot-button issues in a big-budget video game, it works better when focused on the personal character moments than the bigger themes that don’t dig deep enough to make a meaningful impact.
