    This game is great. Play with all friends n all. Who plays battlefield? If you have no friends, go ahead and play battlefield.

    I gave it a 9 because of some kind of communication issues with the bluetooth headsets. While in a game, talking with friends sometimes crackles a lot or just hard to communicate in general. When in the party chat room, seems to be fine. Something an easy update can fix.

    Le site devrait supprimé les avis négatif des joueurs car c'est nul de mettre un 1 à cet excellent titre, je lui mets un 9/10 car le moteur 3d se fait vieillissant et dice eux ont pris la peine d'innover sur ce point

Look, I've played these since the original run and as far as the single player goes, the mechanics haven't changed much (hit the 'trigger' opponent, move to next fight scene, ad nauseum; the AI could be improved also with it still reacting stupidly between friend and foe when they encounter one another) whichThe people giving this poor reviews are obviously haters, BF3 boosters, or both. The single player story however, looks great and is still interesting enough to make you want to play it.
    But who's buying these simply for the campaign alone anyway? The multiplayer is the best out there, period. The framerate makes the game unmatched, yes even those who have supposedly introduced bigger and better engines (played 'the other guy' and didn't see what was so fabulous), along with the great upgrade system whereby you can truly make your playstyle your own. There is no 'right' or 'wrong' setup, but the one which works for you. The devs had said prior to release they're aiming at making it a gunbattle multiplayer moreso this time around and took out the complete dominance of airpower, and they did. The options are near limitless, and a lot of fun to explore. Then, the brilliant idea to keep the hook in: Elite. The fact that they're going to release one map per month is very smart, as what usually kills a game off is the lack of maps; I know it certainly is for me. Definite thumbs up there.

    So that is two games in one, but we're still forgetting a third: Spec Ops. These are a lot of fun also and they've improved far beyond what MW2 offered, as you now level up separately in Spec Ops with the bonuses from the missions contributing to the Survival mode. Very cool idea. Again, they've beaten the pants off it's braggart competitor, BF3 in this regard. I played and beat all of the missions in BF3 with little effort in a few hours. To make matters worse, if you want to unlock all the in game bonuses, you're forced to play through the BF spec ops missions again and again and again...ugh.

    The winner of that battle is clear cut, I believe. But this review isn't one game vs another (as they're two differing games that shouldn't be compared to begin with honestly, but I've drawn myself into the silly debate by offering my comments I suppose), it's about THIS game. To summarize: the single player mechanics are a letdown, as it's the same formula but the story is still fun to play through, which I recommend doing, especially if you've followed the series since the original MW. The multiplayer has ratcheted up the fun factor with a vast array of options, and the Spec Ops is well done, with both missions and survival mode. Giving this game a bad review simply isn't honest.
    Proves the old adage though, that when you're king of the hill everyone either loves you or hates you.

    So! 3 days ago my copy of MW3 arrived, in 3 days I completed the campaign for first time on recruit so I could see how the story developed and then again on Veteran for the challenge. I really enjoyed the storyline, the graphics were good, I like the new survival concept and the missions, I like the new strike package options with support, assault and specialist... All in all its perfectly fine for what it is, and it is what it was supposed to be! A fps where you shoot everything that moves in the campaign before going online to complain to your friends about how many drop shotters, quick scopers and campers there are (something that is not the fault of IF). The issue with all these negative reviews is the player - not the game! You cannot order a CoD game that follows the CoD format and then complain about it - what were you expecting?? It delivers a nice conclusion in campaign and the online play is good fun, but if you still aren't convinced, rent it and then decide!… Expand

    To all the people saying this game is no more than a MW2 expansion pack, if they released an expansion pack with this much new content (16 maps a new campaign and spec ops missions) it would probably cost more than $60! DUH!     Like everyone else is saying, yes this game is very similar to the previous modern warfare titles. But the developers even said this game was going to pick up exactly where Mw2 left off. with that being said, of course the game is going to be very similar. they aren't going to completely change the foundation of the game that is directly based off of MW2's ending. i agree, the multiplayerLike everyone else is saying, yes this game is very similar to the previous modern warfare titles. First off, take a look at the critic score :D 88 to 86 MW3 wins. Second, MW3 is an awesome game. Multiplayer is crisp and action packed from the start, brought in a few new multiplayer games that are fun too.     The multiplayer maps are so bad that the ruin the entire game. They are pretty much all identical, they are all small so that means no variety in gameplay people come out of no where. Out of mw1 waw mw2 blackops and mw3 this has by far the worst maps ive ever seen.

    There are way to many flanking routes way way to many... some maps running through a ally is like going through a maze 6 foot wide ally u go in and to get out u make a right then a left and another right then a left again WTF. Seatown has a moment like that. Also there is way to many maps where u are in CQC more than half the maps ur going to be knifed or shooting at someone 10 feet away from you!! or there are stupid little hut's all over the place to obstruct your view that force u into CQC cuz u cant see more than 15 feet in front of you The maps PROMOTE camping cuz right when u step outside there are 100 different places u get shot from the map CARBON for example when u are at the bottom of the hill its impossible to check that many places before u go outside and the lighting sucks u can barely make out people in windows sometimes then other times there impossible to miss..

    On the ps3 it take 20 min to get into a game then when u get into one u get kicked out the get a server error then kicked out of the PSN or u get a ERROR OUT OF MEMORY 14 message.. and if u ask me there is no reason absolutely no reason that elite should be down... really u had 2 years to make this service and just going by how many ppl bought BLOPS how could u have servers that could not handle the amount of people that logged on DAY ONE!!! its really a surprise that millions of people bought MW3 to you beachhead.. what a bunch of morons!! i cant believe i blew 100$ on this crap maybe im the moron here!! BUT IT WONT HAPPEN AGAIN!! just for reference im not a bum at the game either my win ratio is over 2.00 and KDR around 1.80 over the last few games.    … Expand

    This Call of Duty MW3 is a shame. This is the same game than MW2, a two years old game, with new maps. The most expansive DLC ever. Always the same graphs years after years, always the same things again and again. Many lags and bugs, servers always bad, host migrations, disconnected in a middle of the match. Boring ! The solo campaign is very very short and too easy. No zombie mode ! AndThis Call of Duty MW3 is a shame. This is the same game than MW2, a two years old game, with new maps. Maybe, just maybe some people are being honest and are not afraid to voice their honest opinion about the game. I do have both games(PS3 and PC BF3) and MW3 for PS3 and I will say MW3 does one thing I enjoyed more then BF3's. Now for the Multiplayer, which honestly you can say COD changed so much, but they really didn't. Yes they added some new game types and added a few more weapons however mainly the same. They did reuse some maps, or just changed orientation of it to look new, same graphics as well. You can search youtube to see the comparison of reused graphics or if you have it go back to previous games and see the same things. A lot of noobtubing going on as well with the new gun(XM25 or something) that i have seen on most games, The servers well, if someone rage quits who is host get used to connection reset, searching new host etc.. Say what you will but BF3 I personally hardly have any issues like that. Over all this game while it is fun to play I would not give it a higher Score then BF3, to me Personally speaking just feels like an expensive map pack for MW2. So I would say rent it before buying so you do not get disappointed and if you have not give BF3 a try.… Expand

I also find the multiplayer maps to be terrible. Not a single one of them is good. All of them are just a bunch of confined corridors and hallways. There are no open areas or vantage points at all.     I have been a call of duty fan my whole life until now. I couldnt believe how dissapointed I was with mw3. I thought it would be a great game instead it turns out to be a stupid map pack that they could have just offered gamers of mw2 to download. Now I will be trading this game in for Uncharted 3, a game that developers actually took there time to make and made a great game

    Online matching seems to have improved the ping times in matched games, new perks, maps, same gameplay you have enjoyed with the series which is a good thing. Note that MP is faster paced than games like BF due to smaller maps, and lastly kill confirmed is a great new game mode.

The Scavenger perk only lets you re-supply bullets and only grenades from downed players using the same weapons kits. There is a HUGE lack of sniper positions on almost all maps except 3 or 4. The sound effects for some of the weapons sound "cheap" and "tin like", especially for bothI like the fact that it is similar to MW2, however I HATE the fact that there is similarities to Black Ops. The graphics are awesome, and thank God for that or I would put it on e-bay for sale right now. Most of the maps offer way too many camping opportunities without the explosive ability to flush them out. Grenades in general have an explosive strength somewhere in the middle of MW2 and Black Ops. I have played MW2 almost every day since it was released, I may not do the same here, and patience is wearing thin for the lack of sniping with cover. All in all, I am a fan of the COD franchise with exception to Black Ops which I think was horrible all the way around. I'll give MW3 some more time, but might find myself with my old favorite MW2 back in play soon.… Expand

    With so many first person shooters being released, its a tough market. Rather than buy a game i played 3 years ago, I want something new. Just as the World War 2 FPS became old and repetitive, I feel the modern warfare FPS is as well. I;m all ready to go back to World War 2 to be honest. The game has improved on things but not enough to make me want to keep it. Just more credit towards Zelda.

    not even a new UI for the menu, super fast MP gameplay... gazillions of $$$$$ have been earned and these guys cannot even get rid of the lag, or give us dedicated servers...cant even come up with something completely new...
    they cant even get a frickin' website to work properly, i dunno what's "elite" about that... i loved Cod4, MW2, & black ops, and i think black ops    the game feels old...

    Absolute dissapointment. Thats all I can say... Not only is it EXACTLY the same as MW2, I honestly think the changes they made in this game couldve been done with a patch to MW2. New player Animation, New Weapons and Point Streaks doesnt mean a new game. If you are reading this and hoping to get this game, my advice would be not to.

    Gaming is a BUSINESS! Activision delivered with unparalleled precision on what the mass gaming community wants! Live with it folks. The big however, is that I am reviewing quality on a game and it's just a retread (sorry to use the cliche) of what many want. Activision accomplished quantity ($) over quality but if that is what keeps the gaming industry afloat, I almost want to say THANK YOU!

    It baffles me that people continue to play this game without realizing it's the same repackaged experience since Modern Warfare 2. They've fixed none of the problems with overpowered weapons, perks, and killstreaks, and have done little to fix the camping that is rampant throughout the game. Singleplayer is a garbage 4 hour campaign and multiplayer is the exact same as Modern Warfare 2,It baffles me that people continue to play this game without realizing it's the same repackaged experience since Modern Warfare 2. They've fixed none of the problems with overpowered weapons, perks, and killstreaks, and have done little to fix the camping that is rampant throughout the game. Singleplayer is a garbage 4 hour campaign and multiplayer is the exact same as Modern Warfare 2, but without the good maps. All the maps included are boring and bland and have little redeeming qualities. Save your money and just go buy a copy of Modern Warfare 2, or better yet buy an FPS that actually requires skill. I remember the release of MW2 and how refreshing it actually was to have a fun, and addicting CoD game to play again. Treyarch in my book redeemed themselves with Black Ops. Every year, we the consumers, address certain aspects of the game we don't like, and then the CoD developers tweak those things.

    But to say that this game is just a patched version of MW2 is ridiculous. The developers once again addressed many of the concerns we had with MW2. No game ending killstreak, no last stand, tweak the guns so not one individual gun stands out as overpowered. Which i think they did a great job with since I do not see an overwhelming amount of people running around with just one gun (even in Black Ops damn near everyone used a FAMAS or the AK-74u). Now to address the argument that nothing "innovative" or "new" has been offered.... First of all Sledgehammer and IW have offered us two new game types in multiplayer, something that hasn't been done since CoD 4. Now Kill Confirmed is my new favorite game to play. The strike package system is an awesome ADDITION, which helps reward those players who like to take objectives and shoot down air support (something that also has never been done in a Call of Duty game). Many argue that Call of Duty is just a run-and-gun lone wolf type of game, but then, if that were true, why wouldn't every game type just be Free for All? Sledgehammer really did their best to address this issue, and I for one love using all of the Pointstreak tiers. To me giving this game a score of "0" is nonsense. It seems to me that the average score of 2.7 is the product of a biased sample. While the majority of us are off enjoying and playing the game, some disgruntled individuals are on here complaining and it seems to get worse every year.

    PS3 scores for every CoD since CoD4:
    CoD4 Modern Warfare: 8.7
    CoD World at War: 7.1 CoD Modern Warfare 2: 5.8
    CoD Black Ops: 5.6 CoD Modern Warfare 3: 2.7

    Every year in my opinion, the games are getting gradually better, but the scores just seem to be getting worse... Modern Warfare 3 is the best in the series yet, and the majority of these metacritic reviews are reactionary and inflammatory. Give the game a shot and if you don't like it, give it an honest review, with a honest score and then trade the game back in or use it as a coffee coaster.    … Expand

    Though the story seems different, really it's just the same thing, again and again. No new change in graphics, even half of the guns are re-used. It is essentially a DLC for MW2.

This game is not even that fun, its the same as black ops and mw2, i expected new engine and new weapons. but it only had new weapons but not as many, A lot of the weapons were recycled from Cod4, MW2, and Black ops. So don't get this game its terrible

    What a great game, absolute streets ahead of the competition! Great story mode which lasts a lot longer than bf3. ,multiplayer is a head of it's time, it' wondrous, amazing, beautiful, courageas and marvellous. Quite simply the best fps of all time. Sorry bf3 but you failed miserably!

Of course it is a little unrealistic how often you defy death, but that is what makes it so fun! The spec ops is phenomenal, particularly survival. 16 levels of chaos to play through - gotta love it. Multiplayer is awesome too, although II bought this game, and let me tell you the complaints are unwarranted. The gameplay is silky smooth, and the single player campaign is breathtaking. The multiplayer itself is not confusing what so ever, but requires great skill to play. Its not like you can just one day pick up a controller and be awesome at the game right?..... RIGHT? Oh and the spawn system is definately something to behold. The spawns NEVER shift so you are always out of way from your enemy and therefor are not spawn killed on the instant you appear back into the map.     I do believe technically, Battlefield 3 is superior. I also prefer the latter's focus in the campaign - of small teams of military professionals doing a job - even though this job is over the top and clearly stolen from the COD/MW scriptbook. After I finished BF3, I looked up the website of the US Marines, cuz the game made me respect what these guys do.
    MW3 is more of a Jerry Bruckheimer rollercoaster ride, and combat feels more like the frantic actions you do in an arcade than on the battlefield. However, I think the execution and story are honed very much and delivered with confidence.
    On its own merits, I would rate this game 9. However, the legal and personal issues of the developers and publishers demerit this game. As consumers, we will never know the real background of the conflict, but it is clear that many people were handled unjustly. I think it's wrong that people are marking down this game in these proportions, but it does serve to send a powerful signal that consumers have very keen sensitivities in regards to how a product and its people are being handled (despite the fact that this game has become the single most successful entertainment launch in history). Because after MW3, when talent is treated poorly, there may be a backlash like with the LA Noire team. So conclusion? Good game, but the gamers don't like your company. We did buy your game though - en masse. Maybe that says more of the gamers than of the developers and publishers.    … Expand

I don't think it is fair to score down a game just because it has some things that we may not like, in order to do a good review, you have to take in consideration what has been done to the gameplay, graphics, sound effects, textures and most importantly, the game experience itself after playing all of their options. If you do not like it and you have something against Activision, don't buy it. If you really want to check it out but you are unsure of it because of the scores, buy it and play it a little bit and if it was not for you, just sell it on ebay. Don't let the rest make your decission to decide whether you will buy this game . I am proud to say that I spend money on buying this game and it has been one of the most amazing experiences i've had while playing videogames. It's good to know that such a huge company is still taking the time to listen to the fans and maintaining most of the cool aspects from the old games and always putting something new on them.… Expand

    I expected this game to be full of excitement and great changes, all im getting is an expansion pack of the failure game mw2. Activation thinks they can sell the same crap but re-branded, and some people don't give a crap because they haven't really played a real shooting game.

    OK, graphics are outdated. OK, the campaign is ultra short (but effective). But the multi is everything a MW fan is looking for: addictive, challenging and fun. Nothing new in this MW 2.5 but enough to be the game of the year in this category. It doesn't deserve a 10 but it doesn't deserve a score under 5...so it's a 10 to level up the score.

    Buy battlefield 3, bought this to play with some friends that refuse to buy battlefield 3, traded it into gamestop got an extra controller. its the same game as the last couple years with new maps and the same **** glitches. dont waist the money, talk about a money grab.

    Anywho, the game is great, the story mode has a satisfying finish (Won't spoil it) and multiplayer plays similar to Modern warfare but isnt exactly the same, its hard to explain. Survival mode is a blast, a friend and I played it for HOURS and playing on multiplayer maps does make it more fun while also giving a chance to learn them. SpecOps missions are a HUGE improvement over MW2, I can easily say that every single one of them has replayability.

    All in all, its a game you should try, if you dont like it, return it, dont listen to people who say its "the same game" or "omg no new content". Last time I check a brand new mode, a new campaign, a load of new specOps missions and a revamped multiplayer with new weapons, different types of killstreaks, new guns and 15+ new maps sounds more than just "DLC worthy"    … Expand

At last, we have come to the not so epic conclusion; MW3. I like COD, but I warned my friends to not buy this. "It's going to suck," I said. Most didn't believe me.

    Watching the playthrough of SP on YouTube,was I was amazed by how much was stolen from the previous MW games. "Back on the Grid" alone is completely stolen from COD 4's famous sniping stealth mission; down to the script, except now it in 10x more cheezy, predictable, and forced. References to past games arn't always bad; they can work. COD WAW had a similar mission, but there the elements are far more subtle, and the game still feels original. Here they just threw in whatever they could shove in there from past games with no originality; including ruining characters from COD 4 by pointlessly throwing them in only to die or disappear. I'm also tired of MW games always ending the same. You're hurt, lying on the ground, and you take advantage of a distraction to kill your foe. All this was cool in COD 4, but it's not original anymore!

    I havn't even touched the MP yet; what a disaster that is. The first warning I had this game would suck was hearing about the return of quickscoping. Just when we were starting to move past that in BO, MW3 would have us backtrack to help some selfish "COD pro" make his YouTube montage. This may be a controversial topic, but it is my opinion quick/trick/no scoping is something that ruins the game. From what I see on YouTube, the killstreaks and certain weapons are still overpowered, and we all know from MW2 how much IW cares about fixing their games once they've taken our $. Map design is also terrible, and have a clostrophobic feel to them. Is sniping wasn't dead already, it certainly is now, and quickscoping has replaced it; what an insult. Beyond that, I can't say much since I havn't actually played the game online yet, I'll let whoever has describe the gun on gun action.

    What a discrace for this game to be marketed as its own game. It's just MW2 with a few extra guns and whatnot and a forgetable story. IW, MW2 was bad, but it had a good story. This is just empty. The big review sites gave you the big reviews, but you get a 1 out of 5 from me for no originality or effort whatsoever. In short, don't buy this game, because that would only be rewarding bad behavior.    … Expand

    Let me start off by saying how much of a disappointment this game is in my opinion. I absolutely hate the multiplayer in this game for a few reasons. Number one, the maps are extremely similar to previous Modern Warfare maps and they are terrible in design. Every single map is designed for one player style, the run and shoot style, and there is no depth to the maps. Sniper rifles mightLet me start off by saying how much of a disappointment this game is in my opinion. I absolutely hate the multiplayer in this game for a few reasons. Number one, the maps are extremely similar to previous Modern Warfare maps and they are terrible in design. Every single map is designed for one player style, the run and shoot style, and there is no depth to the maps. Sniper rifles might as well not even be in the game, no map accomodates the sniper rifle players need for concealment. The maps have absolutely no flow, and zero depth, there is no where to be, to protect yourself from being shot or knifed in the back. The maps have extremely long corridors of play area and I havent found a map yet that makes carrying a shotgun an advantage of any kind. I have the say, this game has the worst map selection I have ever seen in a multiplayer game. Number two, the weapons and perks. The weapons are basically the exact same from previous Modern Warfare games but 10 times worse. Every single weapon sounds almost the same, they all have almost the exact same recoil, and every weapon upgrade and attachment is a carbon copy from the last Modern Warfare. The most aggravating thing I've found during multiplayer is the lack of weapon power. If you choose the SCAR, you practically have to empty the entire clip into someone to kill them, you are equipped with enough rounds for maybe 2 or 3 kills max, and then you have to switch to your secondary weapon. I've completely given up on carrying shotguns as well, if you manage to get close enough to someone, which is almost impossible with the horrid maps, you practically have to shoot someone directly aimed to the face to kill them, body hits will not do the job. All of the killstreak perks are terrible as well. The care package booby trap is ridiculous, no one ever picks it up. The "Advanced UAV" is dumb, the strafing helicopters are impossible to shoot down, the OSPREY gunner is 100% the same as Chopper Gunner from MW2, I could go on and on. The most ridiculous thing I've seen is the "Specialist" Perks, upgrading to a new perk during killstreaks of 2-4-6. It doesnt make any sense whatsoever to utilize thing feature. The only reason I rated this game a 1, is because the Campaign isn't terrible, and the Spec-Ops and Survival Mode is kinda fun until you get bored killing computer generated players. This game is an enormous let-down, save your money and buy something else.… Expand

I personally am tired of buying games that companies make 100s of millions of dollars on that when released are not ready. So i hope people take notice and come here and give these game developers the poor scores they deserve until they fix thier product and release a finished and polished product that we are paying for. Something to think about... would we sit there and take it if we bought a brand new car, to find out that when we picked it up that the engine would just "lock up" while driving or that the windshield wipers would not work and accept being told by the dealers that they are working for on a patch that should fix it soon.     Very, very disappointing. Barely any work put into this game at all. Spawn next to an enemy happens far too frequently and I seem to lose connection a whole lot. The game engine has barely improved since CoD4. They seem to sit back, do as little work possible and just rake in the money because it carries the Call of Duty name. That won't last much longer.

    MW3 is the best one yet, and is a fitting end to the Modern Warfare storyline. Nevermind the blatant negative reviews, this game is a step above Black Ops and is even slightly better than MW2. The funny thing is that the people here that are rating the title as zero are the one who are still playing the game and loving every min of it.

The campaign mode is top notch but the spec-ops/co-op mode is pretty so-so. Zombie mode is still COD's best co-op mode. The biggest issue I also had with the multiplayer online is that it seems that you die to quickly in comparison to previous COD games. It's almost as if the regular game modes play with hardcore rules and bullets generally deal a lot more damage. I hope they step up on the next COD because this one would be easy to forget.… Expand

Also lookup the number of bots/hacks/cheats for Call of Duty 2 you will see plenty of them that are still active and that the developer has done nothing about.     There's a tangible insistence from gamers that this series needs to evolve, but it seems unwarranted when it still leads the FPS class. The engine's definitely in need of an overhaul, but when it comes to thumping set-pieces and addictive multiplayer design, Modern Warfare 3 is still in a league of its own.
