Diablo IV has been quite a struggle for me to play, often finding it hard to engage for more than a few minutes at a time. The experience comes across as excessively repetitive, grind-oriented, and devoid of enjoyment.

My sentiments toward the pricing of the store skins are in stark contrast as well. While I've willingly invested in microtransactions before, the cost of these skins feels exorbitant. A single skin costs as much as a significant portion of the base game? It's truly perplexing!

Comparatively, my recent experience with Path of Exile (POE) has been far more immersive and captivating. I'm inclined to transition to POE2 upon its release and observe how Diablo IV evolves after a couple of seasons.

It seems as though Diablo IV was hastily pushed to market, possibly to secure a player base before the launch of POE2. This rush is palpable and has likely impacted the game's overall quality and experience.

I'd love to give diablo 4 a higher rating based on what they did well, but I can't.

    Why can't I? Because I can't log in. Again.

Because every single action I take is disgustingly laggy in a game that could have been awesome offline.

Remove the only requirement and I'll praise that the game actually intended to well, until then, I'm sorely disappointed.

    Pros:
    - Good for cross-play
    - Play how you want - mostly

    Cons:
    - Skills are directly copied from previous games but made worse.
    - Paragon system is included as part of the leveling instead of when you reach max level.
    - Story/Campaign is very poorly done & even more poorly connects itself to the other games.
    - No storage space, you need to share 4 stash tabs between 10 characters, gems use one, aspects use at least one. So that leaves you with only 2 tabs for 9 other characters....
    - Lacking detailed information for EVERYTHING. this game is all about min maxing, but it does not give you any information of what skills do what, or affected by what & how.
    - Little to no options in character cosmetics unless you spend real money. Few in-game unlocks are actually different.
-side quests are not shared, This is a huge problem when playing with a friend & doing multiple side quests. You pop in & out of instances to one another unless you both match each side quest chains progress.
    - BUGS... OMG... The worst are all related to pathfinding.
Kinda makes you think they didn't even use a basic A* logic.

Sadly I know there will be an expansion & I am sure many of the problems will eventually get addressed.
But I will not return to the game. It was wrong to release such a mess of a game to begin with.

But at some point all those passionate and competent people went missing, whether they were fired or quit I can't say. But right now the entire Diablo 4 team is less competent than even JAGEX of all companies and its not even close. It takes them weeks to fix massively impactful bugs and issues, they release things broken and not working, they do basically nothing and barely have any new content flowing despite the promises of massive changes each season.

All of this not to even mention the fact that they haven't got a single person on the team capable of even the most basic creative design decisions anymore. Generic and garbage aspects and uniques, their team that already needs 700 man hours to issue a basic PR to even start working on a basic day-to-day bug is for some reason wasting their already inefficient and limited time on an 'uber unique' system in a game that HAS NO TRADING and therefore literally no one will ever get the items even if they played 10,000 hours straight (you probably think I'm exaggerating but I'm really not).

Blizzard is dead. Kotick has destroyed the company finally. The OW2 scandal and the Diablo 4 situation are not unique, this is the norm from this trash company now.

Does not feel like a Diablo game. Just some generic ARPG made by an unknown studio. Very obvious that not a single key developer from the old Diablo games have been working on this.

Save your money. If you already bought it, don't get fooled spending more money on their planned DLCs to milk the Diablo name even more.

It's like Blizzard wants this to be Elden Ring - making you easy to kill, limiting health flasks, attaching abilities to gear, matching monsters to your level so it never feels too comfortable, giving you an open world and a horse... but that's not what Diablo is to me.

Diablo has always been a source of relaxation and stress relief. Kill some monsters in extravagant ways, roll the dice on finding cool gear that opens up new gameplay options, feel stronger over time, and generally turn your brain off for a bit. Sure, you could try and push harder difficulties and challenge yourself more, but you didn't have to and it was still enjoyable.

This new Diablo wants to be harder, but not in fun ways. Waiting for cooldowns feels bad. Waiting for your mana to recharge because mana flasks were removed feels bad. Being limited to six skill slots feels bad. Dying at the end of a Helltide so you just wasted your time and can't make up for it right away feels bad. Running into barriers on your horse feels bad. Not being able to respec easily feels bad. Getting to the end of a boss battle and running out of flasks feel bad. Being squishy feels bad (I played sorcerer, big mistake). Not being able to see the map while playing feels bad. And there being no interesting loot to make the rest of this bearable feels worst of all.

I played the campaign and quit soon after that - it just doesn't seem like whatever design philosophy created this aligns with what I want from a Diablo game. Maybe if it's your first Diablo game you won't come in with these same expectations, but I had more frustration than fun with it.

Boring is the main aspect of the game. 80% of skills are trash, You WILL have to play in a certain way to not suck at the game and freedom of choice is just a bad choice in the end. Original 9/10

The world is gritty and expansive, the little details and sounds you hear while venturing around are amazing. The story, albeit short, was enjoyable to follow, I just wish it was longer.

There's a lot to do but the world group activities are few and far between, this needs to be addressed as soon as possible with either more content for world events or lowering the time between the current events.

PVP is fine, I would not recommend anyone looking for a PVP game to go into this thinking it's going to scratch that itch.

The graphics and sound quality are amazing, the immersion it brings is fantastic.

Overall I'd rate this a 9/10, Solid foundations, enjoyable story, a vast world to explore and a path to an even better game with future releases.

So this is the point of view from a casual player looking to play single player. None of the complaints about balancing, nerfs or the endgame complaints from someone looking to sink 500+ hours in a game.

I approached this game expecting an uninspired but solid game that I could complete the campaign and move on. I have a backlog of games to play and I don't need to play something forever. Sadly despite my bar being set really low I was disappointed.

-Gameplay feels lacking with very few builds or diversity.

-For gear yellow rare items can be as good as legendary which is bad in that legendary items can and often do roll lower than yellows. You can transfer traits but that requires large amount of resources and you can only transfer once. for something you will replace in a couple levels it sucks. Many of the skills are super specific to just one build making most legendary items completely useless.

-Rubberbanding/sliding constantly. Sometimes during lag spikes which I believe are mostly server based. Not a new issue since diablo 3 also had online always but still sucks.

-collision with my own units making movement awkward(played necromancer) would sometimes need to move around to get minions to randomly move out of the way of object i wanted to interact with

-open world is fine if it adds to the immersion or exploration but it felt more like the open space was an obstacle to getting into more fights. ignoring 3-5 mobs not worth dismounting became the norm and I just ran from quest to quest with my horse when it was unlocked.

-The story was kind of so-so but it didn't really complete and left it super open ended to try to draw you back for more. If it is only added to seasonal I likely will not pick up the game again since leveling is a chore and the main campaign was long but not super enjoyable.

The overall end result is a game I wanted to play just to complete and didn't really enjoy. I ended up completing it only because I had the mentality of "I paid for this so I may as well finish". I was extremely tempted to drop difficulty part way through campaign not because it was hard but because I wanted to be done sooner. By the time I unlocked Torment and completed campaign I was done with diablo 4 and did not want to touch endgame or try getting unique gear. I regret my purchase and do not recommend unless you want to burn time and money and have nothing better to do.

There is no longer any mechanical challenge to the game (which there was a hint of in Beta). It's a pinball machine with flashy explosions and no danger to the character until you suddenly get one shotted. Which can be an issue since of course the servers are overwhelmed and laggy (which, for $60-100 seems insulting).

Players who want an autoplay game are frustrated with lots of menial parts. Players who are looking for mechanical challenge will not find it past like level 10. The story, the writing, the setting all show a lot of love poured into it by devs, but that got in turn poured down the drain somewhere along the development.

Serious buyers remorse on this one. Season 1 is starting, no progress actually transferred, and I'm not even mad. Because I'm already bored of it.

The biggest issue for me is, that you don't have the feeling to make progress. You get your skills really early, you get some items but it makes really no difference. You play all the time but there is no progess. You get punished for leveling.
It does not really develop any feeling or "kind of addiction" that I want to discover more. Ok with Level 50, I had the first time a bit the feeling. You got the paragon board, a lot of new things. And you hope that you get stronger and finally smash the mobs super fast. BUT nothing happens. It stays still super slow progress with leveling. It feels also that they try to waste our time much as possible.

Open world map 3/10 (WoW sends greetings)

Items/loot 1/10 (just boring, a lot of trash, legendary and unique items are account bound. No trading, no interaction between players). Uniques drops super rarely and better forget already that you will find a shako. Lol one of the rarest items.. Why are you doing this with a seasonal game which resets every 3 months? Diversity at the items is also super low. Gems are useless. And at the end you sell everything to the vendor for stupid gold. NO IMPROVEMENT FOR SAISON 1. Which makes useless to play the game.

Classes 3/10 (not much diversity with skills, just look how boring everything looks. No big effects all this things, nothing new.)

Leveling:4/10 (just too long. I dont want to play 50 hours until I finished the story. You want in the endgame, complete your build fast as possible and then getting new loot.)

Mobs: 3/10 (a lot of mobs which are stunning, pushing and what ever else they are doing. Low diversity in the endgame)

Interface 3/10 (to much tabs, not enough space, What the **** is this sh*t with the sigils and the exp potion. Why is there not more space?

Graphic 6/10 (it is fine, but not spectacular.)

Cooldowns 0/10. Everything has a cooldown, really everything!!!!! I hate this kind of mechanics. It makes no fun. Even the fireball has a cooldown. The mount has a cd, if you want to port in the city has a cd. Really everything...

Nightmare dungeons: 2/10 (Omg why invented this super stupid negative characteristics of these dungeons. Especially this stupid things, like the unkillable rock which follows you and release the AoE or this stupid flash which comes from the sky and you have to protect yourself in the bubble. I mean this is ok for 1-2 runs, but latest after the 3rd time, you don't want to play this anymore)

There are way better and real ARPGS out there. And some of them are for free...
Don't waste your money and time with this game. Maybe in 1-2 years after million of patches, it can work. But I don't believe it. The game somehow is super boring, especially in the endgame and also on the great "open world". They could have implement some nice and stunnings things.

They are just trying to steal your lifetime. That is all. There are better things to waste your time!!
