    Very expensive game, changing essential parts of the game as they please, ruining classes and the game you bought - just like that your product is less than what it was upon purchase - no way.

    It feels like the devs from WoW build it - like as if you paid monthly - trying to keep you logged in.
    But its not - so why force START OVER on new content??? makes no sense.
    Tried playing as new chat directly into new content - feels like starting a book in the middle.

    Since I have no intension of beginning from scratch and can expect more of the same BS from the devs ongoing, I've uninstalled and is not longer a Blizzard customer.

    Microsoft must have lost their marbles buying Blizzard... on the other hand MS might be the solution to cleaning up Blizzard, returning them to their old glory.    … Expand

Blizzard is not the same it once was, the people working at Blizzard ain't same and I think everyone can see this. They only makes the game worse instead of better with patches. Other companies i prove the game, but Blizzard are fifferent and make it worse..     Graphics and CGI during the short campaign were great. However it quickly became apparent that there was nothing to do end game. No new gear upgrades were possible and all the dungeons are nearly identical. They sold the game in there being near endless end game content. Talked about connecting with other players. Then they released 1.1 patch and had to repatch that patch twice in two days with more coming, because they broke so many things. They have no test realm, so everyone is just playing a perpetual beta. I may return in a future expansion, but this game is not worth my time, nor yours.… Expand

    I am giving this game a 0 because it is unplayable.

    I only play barbarians but the developers have nothing but disdain for the barbarian class. It is perhaps 1/3 as effective as other classes.

    Even after multiple nerfs and being st the bottom, they nerf the class again by over 50%.

    I wish I could refund my $70.

    Do not buy this game.

    I had waiting so long for this release !!! And for me it's an amazing and great DIABLO game and I enjoy it. I can't wait to see all the inc change during the year. I don't understand all this rage and all those 0 rating. Absurd behavior from those toxic people.

    Worse off than D3 was before it was saved and honestly i think this team lacks the experience and knowhow to fix it. It absolute mess. And when you adjust skills by 1% like they did in last patch and day "we buffed it" it just shows they have 0 f***ing clue what they are doing

    Stats and skills being the biggest problem and no build diversity whatsoever.

    Play d3/poe/wolcen or last epoch instead.

    It takes several hours to get a single level up and you lose armor effectiveness and usually do less damage while gear doesn't improve anything. You'll do a tier 48 dungeon struggling to get by and get a sacred drop with bad stats at item level 686 for your efforts. Sure, you can get some paragon points every now and then to improve yourself a few percent but that doesn't stop monsters from doing more damage and having more life points.

    You'll run out of inventory space easily and waste time trying to find things. You'll spend an entire day just trying to get a single rune to level 15 out of 21 hoping maybe it'll improve your abilities while the monsters at higher tiers can still one shot you.

    But really, knowing they're just going to delete your character and make you start over once they start selling season passes? This game doesn't have any replayability. There's no enjoyment in it.

    Nothing exciting happens and there's almost never any new gear that improves on the stuff I have that drops. Weekly world boss chests? Yeah, there's nothing good in there. Helltide chests? Sometimes but almost never.

    It's just a soulless grind and slog that I always feel disgusted for having played again when I should have been out touching grass. Trust me when I say I regret buying it because of how much time I've wasted on it for a bad after taste. The story was amusing and I'm sure the developers were doing their best under Blizzards conditions but it's as though they took the idea for nightmare dungeons from World of Warcraft and made a game with even more grind and spiders.

    They purposely try to make things take longer because they want your money, not because they want to provide entertainment. The game is awful even if it's pretty and decent for the first few days.

    In the end, it's only remotely worth it if you want to just beat the relatively short story and call it quits from there. If you don't, you'll end up just as sour and annoyed as I am. At least, unless you're a bizzarro person who likes second jobs you had to pay for sucking away at your life.

    Update: Giving it a zero because of the season garbage and the fact their patches only make it worse. Wanting to charge us money for battle passes every season for a game that's more of a chore than entertainment is just nonsense. They actually saw the bad reviews and must have thought "Hold my beer, I'm going to make the game WORSE."    … Expand

    I really enjoyed Diablo IV, until the Season 1 update... They have completely destroyed the game with all the changes they made with illogical nerfs, just to funnel players into the new season. Worst of all is that I can't even try out these changes myself. I can't even update the game. I thought Blizzard was finally going in the right direction with the D4 release (except for the WoW elements in the game which I don't like). Big disappointment. Fix this ASAP, or I will never buy a ActiBlizz game again.… Expand

    There is no endgame, after lvl 45/50 you have to keep on doing the same F’ing dungeons.
    Your characters are slow and weak (ive tried 3 outta 5 before i had to quit this game). If you are really lucky in this game, you only have to backtrack every dungeon twice. (Grab the stone from the one F’ing side of the dungeon, walk back to return it)

    Quality of life is terrible: pets that picked up items are gone, there are no loot filters, vendors/blacksmith in town take ages to reach. The horse isnt much faster than ordinary running. You have to make mules for your first Alt bc lack of inventory space.


    There is just so much more, they really messed up with this one, don’t see it ever becoming better.

    All patchnotes so far have really squeezed out any fun/playability that was left in this game. Season 1 is starting today, this is probably my farewell to Diablo after +- 30 years.    … Expand

    The latest patch has made my keyboard not work in the game. Everything worked fine before latest patch, but now I can't freaking play the game. If I change language in Windows to English, the keyboard works. But then functions as I normally use don't work, cause I don't have a GOD DAMN ENGLISH KEYBOARD!! WTF BLIZZARD!!!     Diablo III was a let down from previous versions with the "always on" requirement. IV goes a step further by introducing dev ego patches. You may only play the game the dev wants, and if you don't the dev changes the rules to force you to play the way they want.     Enjoyed initial play through, the story, the 40 or so hours of collecting all the altars and whatnot. Then I ran into no endgame, no loot, constant nerfs and stopped me from playing until season 1. Needless to say reading the patch watching the joke of a campfire I’m so glad I stopped while I had my fun. As a life long Diablo fan I had to try out the new one but the games a joke!! The dev team doesn't understand their system and is nerfing things constantly in a knee jerk fashion. IF the whole team gets fired and replaced, I may re-evaluate my rating here.     However, once you get past the aesthetics, Blizzard drastically missed the mark on itemization, end game content and progression, boring dungeon backtracking, no loot filter, no searching inventory, punishing build exploration, not having multiple viable builds per class, annoying quests that have dialog you cant skip, tedious explode on death mechanics (3 times?!), level scaling in all content, almost no social features, no trading even with people in your party, and so much more. And originally they were moving towards a 3rd person Diablo vs top down...

    Despite all that, I was holding out hope for Season 1 since they seemed open to criticism, but not only did they do minimum effort by blanket tweaking existing item stats and skills, they did so in a way that was full nerf (minus the new socket gems). The worst part, is so many issues were already addressed in some form in Blizzard's own games (searching stash or Kanai's cube in D3, runewords in D2, etc), but that knowledge was not leveraged. This is an EA's Anthem-like example of the project having terrible direction at the high level... and I am sure issues were brought up by devs and ignored or pushed to the backlog.

    As a game dev and long time Diablo player, I will be skipping this Season, and doubt they will have any substantial updates until maybe Season 4. See you in a year.    … Expand

Save your money, buy the good Diablo on the battle-net launcher instead (D2R) and enjoy hours upon hours of fun.… Expand

    Is it fun to play? Well for a newcomer, it might be, even considering all the issues mentioned in previous reviews, at least until level 50-70.
    For me, having played the pre-season, no, the game it's not fun to play anymore.

The map is big and there are many dungeons, but they are just reskins of the same 5 dungeons. The enemy variety also ends quickly. After 20h you realise you have seen everything in the game. The map is big and there are many dungeons, but they are just reskins of the same 5 dungeons. The enemy variety also ends quickly. As you grow, you find that enemies scale with you, so you get weaker and weaker and you level up, only having the upper hand on some level up capstones. Same with items. The vast majority of item effects are just stat changes, very few have interesting effects that change how you play. And if you find something you like, there is a 50/50 that is a non viable build that you wouldn't know is horrible until you search for guides. Not to mention some classes are vastly weaker than others.
    End game is grindy in a bad way, easily making it boring and not worth after the story is done. Side question are repeated over and over, same for dungeons and end game events.
    Add that to the new Season 1, in which everything was nerfed to make it grindier and make players weaker, just signs for a continuation of a bad gameplay.
    if you love Diablo, you'll take 20 or 30 hours of fun out it. Otherwise, not worth the AAA price tag    … Expand

    it was mostly ok pre season 1 because we were patiently waiting and trying things before the seasons ( level 50 to 100 was still a chore doing the same Nightmare dungeons over and over ).
    But now , the seasonal quest is like over in a couple of hours , letting us only with the new malignent gem system , a big nerf on the said OP builds , and as i progressed as level 40 , in unlocked the xp bonus ...... 3% ....... seriously ????????
    We're in 2023 , we have lots of other games to play , we need to xp faster and to have FUN while doing it.
    The game is not for casuals except if you rely on maxroll OP builds , but then they changed the meta again? i wish all builds would be viable as long as you spent your points and gear smartly but that's not the case ..... u have to go OP build and for that u have to grind for god rolls and uniques, and that wouldn't be that bad coz it is a diablo game but the gear is only good when level 100 ( i mean 725+ ) so why make it such a boring chore to get there.
    helltides and world bosses also drop nothing good, rarely cosmetics , and almost never a good legendary or unique, they die in seconds in T4 when Uber Lilith one shot you at level 100 with a good twisting blade poison build......

    only campaign is nice, then secondary quests ( but u get tired of it ) , renown will get boring in seasons if it implies to do all the same quests again.
    diablo 2 is an old game , and diablo 3 was actually fun after a bad start. But this at the moment .... they are more interested by microtransactions ( they just made new loading screen where you can see only your character ... i can see only one reason for that when they don't adress content issues or ultra slow leveling ).

I'm encouraged that they are hearing the player base and already making adjustments/corrections via hotfix and also additional and immediate patching.     The PC version crashes once every hour on the average. At every crash you lose your current potion, dungeon progress, etc. During helltides, it crashes every 15 mins, & you lose your collected points. Its infuriating, disgusting & frustrating!!

I have to do experiments again in different nightmare tier and reevaluate which enemies can one-shot my character. I can imagine the frustration it brings to hardcore players who cannot afford a single mistake. I had a hardcore monk in Diablo 3, who is still alive today. I have not created a hardcore in 4 yet because I don’t trust Blizzard and this patch is why.    … Expand

I really wish I could say something good about it, but IThe game was a tedious chore from launch. They promised to make it better, so we played it anyway, looking forward to that day when it got fun. Instead they made it more tedious and killed the few things people actually enjoyed. It’s one of the ugliest games I’ve ever played and the $20 cosmetics look like a bejazzled dog turd. I really wish I could say something good about it, but I regret every minute I’ve spent on this exploitative joke and will never buy another game with Blizzards name on it.… Expand

    But we have a fix for your teleport out of dungeon, now its 5 sec cuz why not. Oh how about a Wraith one shotting you through 2 walls while you cant see it, you're welcome.
    Did we forget about the content, we'll just slow everything down to a crawl so players feel like there is soooo much content, they'll be fine.
    Lets also reduce defense, cuz everyone is mostly using offensive spellsstats, looks like its not needed, should be all-right. Stash tab problems, lets give them MORE Vicious Hearts that don't stack, thats a nice Season incentive. Sorcerer is relying too much on cooldowns to do anything, well, lets reduce the cooldown stats on items, make them wait a bit more, cuz we dont like that class, we were forced to add it by the Community. Its the players failt that we have to add the nerfs, they do too much damage with Vulnerable, so we'll reduce it, but now they'll need it more than ever, but they shouldnt rely on it, but they really should if they wanna do decent damage.

    Nerds nerfs nerfs and nerfs again. This game is being nerfed to death and it's not fun anymore.
    Now I have two 80+ chars and after the last nerfs both skills + sets are for the bin, to play my Barb and Sorc is pain in the A.... thats no fun.
    I can't use the paid Battlepass because I don't want to make a new char every three months. Instead I am forced to play a seasonal character to get    Nerds nerfs nerfs and nerfs again. This game is being nerfed to death and it's not fun anymore.

    The game is beautiful, and there are a ridiculous number of ways you can build and play all of the characters, and the story was actually good, and it felt like Diablo, and it setup the next **** Diablo, and they're not currently planning on patching and moving on, but rather continuing to develop content and more end/post game activity.... Yes, you could plow through the main campaign too quickly and too easily. You didn't need community and teamwork for most if not all of it. You didn't really need to explore. If you wanted to go over there, you could just blast and sprint your way through without worry or repercussion. That's where they messed up. They gave you what you wanted... Because if you actually had to play the game over a period of time and band together to finish open world events before moving on, you wouldn't have actually played the game because it would have been too demanding and too tedious for you.    … Expand

    Initially it’s a really good game, until the 1.1.0 patch. My BD is totally destroyed, which I feel I totally wasted one and half months thinking and building it. My items used to have full roll and after the nerf a lot were on bottom tier. Blizzard has no respect for players on the effort they spent to build their characters. All you can experience in this game is terrible boredom.. The only future you'll have if you buy this game is the horrible, stupid developers mocking you. The game's Metacritic score was manipulated by Blizzard's money. To be honest, theIf you're thinking about buying this game, I never recommend it.     A below awarege hack n slash. Messes up the feeling of empowerment during leveling and gives you a mediocre endgame experience. It could have been a lot better. Skills feel old and overused. 4th game, same stuff.

    While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
