I've played every Diablo title extensively. The failure of this game tops even Diablo 3, because of the incredible company-wide amnesia led them to make all the exact same mistakes. Boring, lonely, restrictive. It'll be worth looking at again in 5 years when they desperately try to save face a la D3.

For the game videos I can put only 1 point and that's it. Nothing new, nothing special, completely boring and buggy game. I bought the digital deluxe version and would refund the money if I could. Can't imagine such a huge company can't make a good game

The game was fun for a few hours - you know, cool visuals and stuff... Then it revealed itself to be shallow, repetitive and pointless tedium. The introduction of battle pass is insolence beyond belief! Tolerate bad games, and you will get more bad games in the future.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this steaming pile of manure.

Bought the early access game for 90 euros. Played few characters. Season 1 dropped (have season passa included in my early access edition) - went to play Path of exile for free. Pretty much sums up the game.

Just without the auction house. But with horses instead. Just not a fun time. Now that Season 1 is live I managed to get a character to 40 but grew bored again. I'm going to start with the seasonal content, in case anyone is reading reviews for that purpose.

The Season of the Malignant is an astoundingly lazy addition to a badly underdeveloped game. The only free cosmetics are the pieces of a generic merchant outfit, the silly novelty of which might be worth the grind, except that the final piece is premium content. Setting aside how unspeakably greedy that is, the outfit is identical for all classes, so it's not exactly a quality asset, however novel.

I personally doubt I'll ever give Blizzard another dime of my money after my experience with this game, so that's one bandana I'll never unlock.

Apart from premium cosmetics, all of the new content expires in October, so it's essentially an opportunity for Blizzard to beta-test experimental new mechanics without ever having to balance them, while tempting players to spend money with four-fifths of a stupid merchant costume.

The actual gameplay content of the season is dreary and boring. Some of the monsters have a creepy new material effect, and you have to kill them twice, for a chance to unlock ephemeral items that will be deleted in two months. There are also several new holes in the ground for you to jump into, and a half-baked story involving exactly one new boss and one new NPC.

Even the premium seasonal content essentially amounts to a couple of cosmetic sets and a merchant hat. Blizzard is a triple-A studio, and I am astonished at how little new artwork this season contains.

Ordinarily, starting a new character after completing the campaign comes with a number of quality-of-life improvements. For a seasonal character, in addition to losing all of your stored equipment and accumulated resources, you lose most of your Renown, and your Codex of Power. Losing access to your gold and items is one thing, but the entire appeal of the Renown and Codex mechanics was that they rewarded the investment of your time by applying their benefits to all future characters.

As for the game itself, it has some enjoyable moments when it isn't loading or crashing, but it's far from a triumph of game design. A good game will show you how to play, without telling you how to play. This game does neither.

Grinding from levels 1-70 was a reasonably smooth and enjoyable experience. I chose a combination of abilities that seemed useful, and selected equipment to synergize accordingly. The transition to Tier 3 was compelling, with difficulty scaled roughly in line with the skills I had developed as a player, and rewards befitting that accomplishment.

The transition to Tier 4 was comparatively juvenile. The game abruptly ceases to reward individuality or creativity, in jarring contrast to the preceding hours of gameplay. A clever build that was effortlessly surfing the Helltide in Tier 3 might cease to function entirely in Tier 4, forcing most players to search online for an overpowered build developed by a professional streamer, and start from scratch.

Blizzard aggressively balances the game against about a dozen builds that actually function at this difficulty, which only narrows the number of viable builds, since those changes also have an impact on players who don't play the game professionally.

While the limit of six active skills makes for a superficially simple RPG, the final combination of skills, aspects, and paragon glyphs is fiendishly complicated. There are thousands of options to choose from, only about 10% of which form any part of a viable build, and the game waits until Tier 4 to inform you that 90% of your choices were wrong.

Most online guides for character creation advise the use of one build from levels 1-70, and a radically different build for level 70+. So far, the only corrective measure Blizzard has announced is the promise to reduce the cost of resetting a character by about 40% in the coming weeks. This will make it easier for players to trade a build that has stopped working, for one that wouldn’t have worked before.

The time you spend playing a game should gradually equip you with the knowledge and skills required to succeed. Instead, Diablo 4 spends hundreds of hours rewarding bad habits and weak abilities, only to drop the hammer abruptly at level 70, while providing no further instruction.

Apart from the game design issues, I don’t think I’ve ever played a game with such a clumsy disregard for player experience when it comes to networking problems, which is particularly egregious given the mandatory nature of online play.

Overall, I can't recommend Diablo 4. A lot of talented artists and programmers worked on this game, but they work for sick and greedy people, who have no respect for your time or your intelligence. Please be kind to yourself, and play a better game instead. Maybe give Deep Rock Galactic a shot, their seasonal content is always pretty fun.

I stopped playing when I loaded the game and just didn't know what to do...exploring the beautiful world with so many cool areas is not wanted since it doesn't give you XP, Tree of Whispers with a reward that is the same or worth than your average on map event completed in a fraction of the time?!?

This game is trash. Maybe they improve it over time, but I imagine the only thing they will improve on is further monetization. PoE is better in every level. You could buy a 5 dollar game from a small developer that has more depth. The only great thing about this game are the pathetic few cinematics. I generously give it a two, because it is functional...ish.

Arter the recent experience nerfs the leveling pace becomes tedious in the 40s. There is just a lot of stuff that is broken, and due to the way they overengineered their systems is not easily fixable. For example, they can't add more stash tabs because they designed the game to load every players entire stash into memory, which will cause lag if they expand stashes. That sort of design philosophy doesn't give me much faith for the future of the game.

Overall it's an inferior game to Path of Exiles, but easier to learn for casual player.

For a game that supposed to have atmosphere the mobs severely lack noises and the ones that do, are annoying. I'm looking at you fallen shamen. The skill tree gives the illusion of flexibility, then you realise about 4-5hrs in "oh most of the skills suck, looks like its spin to win baby". On my Necro, I want to use minions but are mediocre against mobs and are useless against bosses. Speaking of the bosses, they are straight boring. D2 Andarial and Durial were an absolute pain but was satisfying to beat, D4 snoozefest. The pacing of the game feels slow, particularly after the 1.1 disaster. Maybe if you had a PTR Blizzard, we could of told you before you implemented it, how bad it is. WoW has had one for years, where is it?

They got rid of set items because they wanted more variety in game play. Yet they gave us these super rare items aspects that make or break a build. Whats the difference??? At least with the sets I could build to something. In D3 I got the same set item, sweet I can transmute to another item in the set. Sure it wasn't guaranteed but it gave a better chance.

In all fairness, it took D3 years before it got better. But surely after 3 games you learn from mistakes. Each game people have wanted more stash space, this is not is a diablo alone complaint. People like collecting, in games and IRL. What is even more perplexing is they had the "let's load the stash when you see another player" problem in D3. Seriously, did no one question this system going into D4??? Nah let's just give less stash instead. We just want to hoard. Let the people hoard!!!!!!

I could go on and on but I've already wasted enough time on D4.

After my rant, my point is simply, the game is not fun!

Not a review bomber over the patch. I don't care about the patch because honestly I haven't been able to muster up the interest or energy to force myself to play long enough to reach high enough level for it to matter.

After the streamlined arcade game that was Diablo 3, Diablo 4 is an improvement. However, it's only that; an improvement over Diablo 3. Anyone who was looking for some manner of return to D1/D2, even in a small way, is going to be massively disappointed.

Virtually no D1/D2 gameplay elements make a comeback here. Instead, the mistakes made with D3 are mostly fixed or otherwise improved. As such, there's no identifying items, no scrolls of town portal, it's free and unlimited instead, no stat leveling, no weapons for everyone.

Combat is more varied now, as there's actually a use for more types of attacks and spells rather than havin to rely only on splash damage attacks to deal with the endless swarms like D3. There's still no real Attack button so your Sorcerers and Necromancers still can't use swords and spears and shields, but at the very least they actually hold their equipped weapons when performing their skills/spells, instead of havin them disappear like in D3.

The D3 "Infinite Potion" system is back, although at the very least they make it so that health pickups do not automatically heal you but give you "potions", of which you can hold 4-5 charges to heal when you need. If you run out of potion charges, you can't heal. It's a rather clumsy attempt to be more like D1/D2 without abandoning the streamlining of D3.

Unfortunately it seems they either ran out of ideas with the skills or ran out of time to make them feel particularly different. Worst offender I can see thus far is the Necromancer havin many different selectable skills that all basically amount to "Hold out hand and a colorful wave flies at enemy, damage is done".

The Sorcerer/Sorceress has the best skills, with plenty of variety and some D2-era skills returning to flesh it all out properly. Others unfortunately are severely lacking. The Barbarian is just boring, with only 3 shouts and a sequence of generic attacks that mostly amount to "swing weapon in a slightly different way". And they don't even get to use shields.

The Druid as well feels like it was the primary victim of the "ran out of time" hypothesis. Basically, there is no "transform" option for the Druid. Instead, you get a skill that is assigned to Wolf or Bear, and when you use it, you instantly transform into a Wolf or Bear. Then as soon as you use a different skill, you will instantly transform back human. Not only does this look underwhelming but it means you can't mix up skills, or do things like summon or command creatures while in Wolf/Bear form.

The game world itself, so far, has been very underwhelming. There is no more Act system; instead it's one big world, like an MMORPG. You also see other players wandering around at the same time as you, like an MMORPG. They can join in your battles or clog up the merchant's doorways with their 30 skeleton minions. There's also a ton of quests you can track at any time in a list, like an MMORPG. There's also no way of keeping track of completed quests, you can't coordinate sidequests with parties, and oftentimes you will end up with party members missing out on cutscenes or dialogue due to them being out of place. Some reviews I've seen have said you basically need a "designated clicker" because of this idiocy.

tl;dr, the more time I put into Diablo 4, the more miserable the experience gets. Each class has so few actual skills to play with that I'm switching out classes whenever I get bored and thus basically repeating all the starter quests.

By level 25, you've unlocked every possible skill, so all the skill points just go into "make it slightly stronger" or "add some mediocre little buff" for min-max play. There's no sense of POWER in any magic items like in D1/D2; unique items offer boosts like "+2% to Close Attack when Barrier is active" or "+4% to critical with each Core skill hit on a Stunned enemy"

None of that means anything to me. D2 items had things like "Ignore enemy armor", "+50 to strength", "Half poison duration", "50 charges of lvl 20 Teleport". Actual visible benefits.

I've been playing D3 and D2R leading up to D4's release. I finished D3 and put it away. It was fun the first time, but had 0 replayability. D2R I started about a month before D4 came out.

Now almost 2 months after D4 has come out, for every 1 hour I put into D4, I find myself putting 2 hours into D2R, and enjoying it much more.

Diablo 2 Resurrected just has more to offer than Diablo 4 in almost every way. Bigger and more interesting maps, more skills, more items and weapons, more interesting story, no long boring in-game cutscenes, and just a better, more fun experience overall.

Despite the graphics and mechanics being ok, their isn't much to do with them. Once you finish the campaign and get the mount, You tend to ride past the areas you'd have to fight to go through which makes the open world useless. You can't raid dungeons overpowered and clear them fast because of the leveling. It would take quite some time to clear them all. The HT and NM are ok but they get old fast. The season pass is a cash grab to sell you gear they should have put in a game people paid $70 - $100 for. The season patch took the wind out of my sails. If you read the SEC filings for Activision-Blizzard, they elaborate in great detail about soaring profits due to player investment in games and how to increase revenue even further. Don't mind working people getting paid but last time I checked Blizzard doesn't even pay their employees well. What the hell are they doing with all the money? Pay the workers good money to make good games and take the business staff to devils island and let them fend for themselves. If Blizzard ran Pac Man, they'd charge you for every dot you ate. Diablo 2 R was much better.
    The artstyle is nice.
    The inventory is not great.
    There is no map overlay.
There is not much innovation for this kind of game unfortunately. Not even loot filters. God knows why.
The game is not worth 70 USD/EUR. I think 40 would be more appropriate.

I really wanted this game to be great but it just is not.

The open world does not work (the way they did it). A format like D2 would have been much better.

The game was best for me when it was challenging but that rarely happened - only when I was under levelled in a new difficulty for a couple levels.

I like the story. It is dark but not as epic as D2 - but that is something I can live with. The voice acting and writing is solid.

Once you finish the campaign the game gets really pointless very quickly.

I played different characters up to level ~80 but then really lost motivation. I was asking myself why I should continue all the time and then stopped.

The cosmetics shop sucks. It makes the game worse. I wish it was not in the game.

The game also had performance issues on my computer.

The developers made a number of changes that intentionally, and artificially, slowed down progression; while simultaneously ignoring vast amounts of community feedback regarding gameplay, quality of life, and the overall direction of the game.

The nerfs to cooldown reduction, experience gained, and adding the chance for admittedly broken stats (resistances) to roll on more gear types are egregious and transparent attempts to slow down player progression with no justification in terms of what it adds to the player experience.

The game has the potential to be very good, and has a very high potential ceiling as far as score goes. However, until the developers actually begin to listen to player feedback, the low score is deserved. 2/10

It also seems Blizzard doesn't really know what they are doing, they changing things, that doesn't need to be changed. They needed to fix things and make sure everything works first of all, add new content later!

I will check from time to time to see how it evolves but I really don't have any hopes for the future of Diablo IV.

The foundation is strong, but they need to rethink their approach to the game, maybe one day they will and maybe Diablo IV will be good.

Why is there an open world of nothing and boring stuff for me to run through????

The items are boring they give no power the stats are lame. Farming literally the same item over and over and over is so boring!!! They literally took the worst stat from the D2 oculus (teleport to a random location) and put it on the oculus in D4. **This is what a real item look like**

The visuals of the game are awful. I played with my friends who was a necromancer and he used an ability that would cover the screen with this dark cloud. I had no idea where I was or what the hell was happening on the screen.

It plays and feels great. However everything else is quite weak.

They could not design a game where grind has a meaning, which is pretty much the whole premise of the game. Most worrying part is, most of the shortcomings of the game are so foundational that I doubt it can be fixed without deconstructing the game completely.

--- Loot: Dropping legendaries not exciting anymore. Too much loot drops left and right, just to salve and steal its aspect. Yellow items becomes legendary with imprinting aspects, which kills aaalll the fun of looting.

--- No trade: You can't trade anything of value in the game, which eliminates the Economy. It's such a bizarre choice in a grinding game that's always-online. What's the point of grind & loot if they are of no value?

--- Endgame content: After beating the story and skipping the campaign, your experience from lvl 0 to 100 never ever changes. There is no progressive content that unlocks at certain levels or item powers. All activities are same, only gets more difficult.

--- Lazy stats and build variety: It seems like there are too many stats, but most of them are gimmicky and only a few are so impactful (e.g vulnerable dmg). And build options in all classes are extremely dependant on a few very powerful skills that are must to use. E.g If a skill is applying vulnerable, no point in using any other skill as your main cast.

--- Lack of online interaction: There is no 4 people dungeons / raids that you can join via Matchmaking. They advertised the game as a very interactive, massive multiplayer experience. It's literally Diablo 3 with open world that scales to your level. There is not even a collective buff / reward or some interaction mechanic when doing an event with randoms on the same area. They could have done so many things with that idea.

--- Nothing new to the genre: There is ZERO innovation to the genre. There could be so much done with that skill tree. E.g You start with a base hero which then would branch out to different sub-classes etc. (Start with Sorc > Elemental Wizard / Witch / Dark Mage etc)

--- Bad mob design: Very few mobs in each encounter. Never fully satisfies you killing 7-10 mobs. You very rarely get a pack of mobs that are 20+ Almost everything explodes after death, or just immobilizes you, which seems like the only way to get you. Nothing creative and or fun.

--- UI UX: Whoever was responsible for this inventory and build management probably does not play games, let alone ARPGs. Nothing in the UI was made for scalability. The grind was not considered in designing this. There could be so much done as quick wins to improve this UI.

There's much more to list here but these are the most foundational and prominent faults of the game. It feels like the designers of the game do not play this type of game, because it neither caters to casual players (because of endless and meaningless grinding) nor the hardcore player base (due to lack of build variety, end-game contents having no extra rewards)

5 points for the story and fluidity. -5 for falsely advertising what it should be and it wasnt.

The rating given is mostly for protest, but the game itself isn't very good either. Looking at D4's initial and first seasonal content, even with a generous mindset, it is clear that it's not the game we were waiting for. The points it scores on is the return to the bleak and desolate tone the series was built on, and the release wasn't a dumpster fire (is that even a point anyway?) butThe rating given is mostly for protest, but the game itself isn't very good either. Looking at D4's initial and first seasonal content, even with a generous mindset, it is clear that it's not the game we were waiting for. The points it scores on is the return to the bleak and desolate tone the series was built on, and the release wasn't a dumpster fire (is that even a point anyway?) but the gameplay itself suffers greatly.

Exploring the mechanics and story simultaneously was the interesting part of the game, yet putting a critical eye on the ARPG experience there was some glaring issues that was clearly brought up by the community the very first days. These issues only worsened after finishing the story at level 50, and got practically unbearable at approximately level 70. There isn't a sense of achievement or fun, since the game itself is easy but the mechanics thoroughly unfair.

D4 has ultimately not been designed for accessible experimentation and fun progression in mind, and constantly seen to demand from the player the typical "you have to suffer for 200 more hours before the fun starts". Off-screen attacks that kill you instantly. Constant stuns, freezes, fears etc. that combo into each other, removing the player's agency and ultimately killing you. Getting stuck on invisible terrain, and many other disappointing things. All the while the stash tabs completely fill up with unending, uninteresting gear with strange, low-roll stats, and the way to a coherent build feels clunky.

With all the new players attracted to the genre and game from false hype, (Blizzard hasn't been the Blizzard we knew for many many years) there was many questions about the seasonal content. Why force the players to replay a tedious part of the game to make your builds work? Why punish the eternal realm players by not including season pass there, too? Why refuse to add more stash tabs and functions to help players wade through the endless junk that is forced into the stash? Why not make aspects and other statistics upgradeable for a better sense of progression? Later, as the casual players came further into the game, they also started asking about the unfair mechanics, the class imbalances and artificial roadblocks that was put in place for seemingly no reason.

Blizzard ultimately answered with a massive nerf to absolutely everything that crippled many of the characters on the eternal realm, and made the apparent issues even more oppressive. The season mechanics themselves are uninspiring and suffer from the same issues - filling the few stash tabs you have even faster and with equally disappointing things.

Ultimately, the game is not worth it, and will probably never be since Path of Exile 2 will fill the void and blow this game out of the water if and when Diablo 4 finally, maybe, starts getting somewhere.

They increased the portal time to leave or escape dungeons. Why? Because this is to eventually sell portal effects in the store. This is just another blizzard cash grab game. Stay away. Expand

Why so fecking convoluted so many different stats with multiple odd conditionals

    Waste of money, stay away!!!

I paid $70 to beta test this dumpster fire for them to totally figure out a way to completely screw the game over before the launch of season 1. I said I wouldn't buy this game for 60 days because Blizzard is so notorious for the old bait and switch within 60 days. I should've listened to my gut....

Patch Notes 1.10 patching the fun out of the game.
This patch shows they don't know what they want this game to be. If it was suppose to be for casual gamers then why all these nerfs cause its still too easy for hardcore people but now casual people just get frustrated doing less this is just kinda ****

When you wait for the continuation of the legendary Dibalo series, your favorite game, you expect something special. But what we got in the fourth installment was a disappointment. A disappointment that took 10 years to develop.
    - Maximum boring missions
    - Boring dungeons - Very few new mechanics. And those new mechanics that do appear are practically pointless or inconvenient. - Ugly

    - Updates that break the game's already precarious position.
    - The system of mining gear with the right characteristics is just a mockery. Before you had to choose from legendary gear, but now you have to look at the characteristics of each gold armor or weapon, because that's the only way to get the right gear.
    - Complete lack of sense to continue the game after reaching level 100, although in essence dibalo has always been an endless game in which you can always develop and grow. Here, of course, there is an opportunity to grow, but the chance of this is minimal..... better not even try.

And for all this I paid 100 dollars, awesome, thanks blizzard **** blizzard).

So that is atleast what tey say. The world is very nice and big, but yet so hollow and soulless. The list goes on.. no risk and reward system, there are spells wich can kill you and you cannot even dodge them. Resistences dont work... Items have so boring stats that i have never seen anything similar in a RPG game. The game is also not ballanced. This was my worst 70 dollars spent and i am a Diablo fan. I have playes D1,D2,D3 for thousands of hours, but this is ultimate disappointment. The quest and the battle pass has extremely boring quests. The game could be xxxx times better. I hope Blizzard will read some critics of their fans and will fix the issues. The list could go on, but i thing i have mentioned quite a lot of things which bothers me. Game is shallow, more design and care put into aesthetic skin items that are sold via a in-game store rather then functionalities and game mechanics... we have given the developer plenty of feedback about what needs to be changed, and they constantly fail to act on jf.

Maybe I'll return to the game in a year or two and things will be different but in its current state the game is just bad.

The developers are clearly out of touch with the community by delivering nerfs no one asked for and promising future buffs that will make it better. How is it possible to have gone through all this in D3 to not have learned a single lesson? and worse to repeat the very same mistakes again! I give up, you win Blizzard, but you will never get my money again, I'm done, GG WP.

Diablo 4 is a letdown in all ways. The world is bland with areas looking the same, the old designs in D2 with different acts and enviroments are gone. Now we have grey snow, grey desert and grey forest.

90% of the enemies are same from Diablo 2. They also level up the same time as you, so level scaling is on the game full-time Speaking of being on full-time, you need to be on

Speaking of being on full-time, you need to be on full-time with always online requirements for no reason then more money for Blizzard.

Story is boring, and people are getting killed before i even get interested in them. You have two cinematics in the whole games, and the rest is in-game cutscenes.

You can only fight the bosses in the game once, because it's not like people enjoyed it in Diablo 2 - right?

Then yea. there's nothing else to do in the game. Proceeed to random generic dungeon and farm random generated items with no personality. Nothing stands out, it's just a hamster wheel like World of Warcraft with no passion. Everything is micro-managed to suck you dry out of money.

Mount is in the game to sell you more skins, now you even see your own characther in the loading screen so people buy more cosmetics. Other then that, the mount is AWFUL and cant be streered in any direction. You also have 30 seconds of cooldown on it because let's just waste your time even more.
There's no way to join other people and meet new persons online, you only have a emote wheel for some reason.

You have 1 stash tab that are shared with all your chars. You need to farm renown for some reason. (Because everyone wanted renown in Diablo. This isnt WoW.)

You also need to farm 180 Lilith Statues because they love wasting ur time.

Every NPC in the towns are randoms bots with forgettable names.

Returning to town constantly and scrapping items so you can upgrade stuff later on makes everything even more tedious. Because why not waste ur time even more. It's not like the gems in Diablo 2 worked great.

I played the campaign for 30 hours and never looked back. I made the mistake of buying the early access because i wanted to support Blizzard and play the game long-term but everywhere i look in the game, everything is just bland and uninteresting. This is a proof that you cant make a good game with alot of money if you dont have the passion and creativity as a developer.

Avoid the game at all cost and spend ur money on other developers that continue to deliver good games such as Larian Studios or FromSoftware. Several good indie developers on Steam aswell.

Dont buy the game. Dont support Blizzard.

    Old Blizzard is gone.
New Blizzard cant balance or create games at same level as their history.
Just look at Dragonflight and Overwatch 2.

Everything in their games are designed to waste your time, and create problems to later on sell the solution to you. 80% of the stuff you are doing are just waiting and managing stuff in the game. 20% is actually playing the game. It's just arbatory hoops for all the players without any reason then to just stretch the game out and keep the player retention.

It's a toxic mindset and has nothing to do with passion of making games, just to f**k you over as a consumer. You are a number-digit in their data and nothing else.

Diablo 4 has massive connectivity problems, half the time you can't log in, half the time you log in you get suddenly disconnected (RIP hardcore characters), there are even problems sending party invitations. It's insane that the massive company fixated on unnecessarily making this game an always-online pseudo-MMO can't get basic network stability right.

It's insane that the massive company fixated on unnecessarily making this game an always-online pseudo-MMO can't get basic network stability right.

Assuming you're able to log into this always-online wonderland, until level 70 or so the game is great, it returns to the gothic horror of earlier Diablos rather than the Saturday morning superhero cartoon of Diablo 3. The story and quests are interesting and contains subtlety that has eluded Blizzard for at least a decade.

However you'll spend the majority of your time in an endgame designed by people who are surprised that players don't like being chain-CC'd, oneshot from offscreen, or playing around on-death effects. For a company that helped create the ARPG genre and should have decades of institutional knowledge, not to mention years of iteration on the Diablo 3 endgame, this instalment appears to be created from scratch by amateurs who think that their 1997-era bad ideas are the most profound thing ever. Combined with Blactivision's unquencheable thirst for goodwill-destroying cash-grabs, your experience after finishing the story will truly be an eternal grinding hell of random deaths and worthless loot.

World bosses are interesting until you hit world tier 3, after which they literally die in 5 seconds. The damage formula has obvious issues around stacking and build-warping and bucket accessibility, but Blizzard's galaxybrains couldn't figure that out during years of development, and need to be scolded by paying customers to understand. Seasons are an obvious content recycling scheme that would be less distasteful if they actually added significant changes, but it's a tiny questline and some legendary gems from Diablo 3. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the casual and hardcore players left before Season 2 to play a better game, really anything else.

The graphics and art team did an amazing job creating a visually stunning game that the balance and gameplay team destroyed with their terrible decision making. Truly a shame that they are so out of touch with what their playerbase wants that they have destroyed what should have been an amazing game.

While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
