    I have no idea why I keep seeing comments about the game not working. It has been flawless on PS4 I play with my friends every day with no connectivity issues. The gameplay is smooth and classic borderlands. The story is extremely long, 40 hours at least and with the side missions it is easily over 60. More game time for me I suppose.     Больше 15 часов наиграл и всё никак не могу остановиться. Игра хороша, да она во многом правит ошибки предыдущих частей, но также имеет много нового.
    С самого первого запуска не испытал никаких проблем на GTX 1070, стабильные 60 фпс с приятной картинкой и быстрыми загрузками. Да блин у меня вторая часть грузится дольше чем третья (хотя за это спасибо наверно в основном SSD). Но блин    Больше 15 часов наиграл и всё никак не могу остановиться.     Don't listen anymore to this review bashing, with their supposed "good arguments", optimization is quite good atm, some ppl are talking about lag with 1080 + some i7, i run with a 1060 at almost 100 fps in medium/high.

    I'm going to say that I like this game a lot. It's Borderlands, the series we all learned to love, and they even improved a few aspects of it. The loot is a lot better designed, it was good before, but now there is a lot more variation in what guns you get, I found myself very excited every time I got a new gun. Another thing, I don't think my computer is particularly terrible, but I didn't get all new parts this year. so I wouldn't say it's a fantastically good computer, and my frame rate was fine. I got a few frames sticking, but they wouldn't stick around too long, and the game, for the most part, was smooth.… Expand

    Im running this game on gtx 1060 6gb , 4.8 cpu and have no stutter what so ever all runs smooth as silk
    great game fun to play enjoy it while lasts, as nothing last forever

    Borderlands 3 is great, why? It's more Borderlands, but with vastly superior graphics, gun play, weapon design, locations, and Jesus, dot even get me started on the loot. Yes, the writing is cheesy, but that's what Borderlands has always been. I highly urge you to go back and either play or watch some Borderlands 2, and you'll notice that besides for Handsome Jack the writing has mainly stayed the same. Borderlands hasn't changed, you have.

    As for the main villains, the Calypso Twins, yes, the villains are cringe and nowhere near to being as cool and charismatic as Handsome Jack, but that's to be somewhat expected when you created arguably the greatest video game villain of all time. I thought it was a pretty interesting concept the writers took with making Troy and Tyreen streamers who are on their 15th cup of coffee an second line of coke after four years of sleep of not sleeping. My issue is that Calypso Twins lacked that classic serving of Borderlands' parody that the series is so well known for. Instead, it felt like a bunch of suits shouting buzzwords to try and make these characters appeal to a younger audience, *cough* "Like, follow, and obey" *cough*. This did make me sad because I really do like the concept and story that these characters have, but its overshadowed by corporate mumbo jumbo.

    My biggest issue I have with this game is that the story, despite being good, it does not feel to me that Borderlands 3 has the replayability of Borderlands 2. Borderlands 2 I can look back fondly on and say that I loved going back to replay the campaign on all six characters, in 3 I honestly don't think I can entirely say the same. I did my first play-through solo, and will be doing my subsequent 3 with friends, so I can shoot the **** as I mow down CoV and Maliwan goons.

    Overall I had a fun time playing the game, I enjoyed the story, and loved the loot. Whilst not packing the same punch that Borderlands 2 managed to, its successor did a damn good job. Solid 8/10.    … Expand

The only really bad thing I can say about it is that I have come across a few bugs, but nothing that hurt the over all experience.     Absolutely great sequel of saga... Fun game-play, the quantity of unique weapons with fun names - for which is this game very known and the story is so far great ( i didn't finish it yet but i am extremely enjoying it )...

Its pity the game has some issues bcs i was really excited about this game and hoping it will really come one day since we could saw opened-end of the pre-sequel...And here we are, the game is finally here but not in its perfection as it should be...

    This one is raising the bar so high compared to the previous opuses.
    The story is amazing, the loot is abondant and the gameplay is pure madness.

    One of the best games this year IMO.

    This game has amazing gameplay, fun side missions, great boss encounters, and classic borderlands humor. Hours of fun, billions of guns, and a dlc roadmap that will see the light of day unlike other company's. Gearbox has out done themselves.

    I already have 5 days logged in my first Vault Hunter. I play Zane and he's hilarious. Love the gunplay and combat, it's all I ever wanted from the next borderlands game. Well worth the 7 year wait

And honestly, I'd be willing to bet that a solid 80% of these are mad that its Epic exclusive, even if they don't say it in their review.     This game is very enjoyable. I am having little to no problem with micro-stutters or frame drops. There is a little, when the game first starts, but it smooths out with in a couple of seconds. I am playing on a 1080TI. It feels like the other Borderlands game, but better.

    A beautiful game to detail and watch for landscapes and arts. People seem to be complaining about performance issues but most of them it's because the use of RTX which is to be known to lag most games.     game: it's borderlands with a HUGE budget/10
    story: better then expected/10 (it's still looter shooter first, everything else second) warning signs: the game is 60£ and there is at least 4 DLC's coming. and the season pass is 50£. and no knowledge of what dlc's contains    46 hours to finish the story of borderlands 3, now i can add extra difficulty and get better loot. or start new gave+

    I love so much this game! When release there was some bugs but i havent issues with lugs. Now is it much better and i want to play more and more. It is very similar to Borderlands 2 and i like it.

    No puedo darle un 10 por qué me lo compré de salida y tenía bug de caerse del suelo hacia abajo, y de quedarse los npc bloqueados en el suelo y no poder moverme, pero Se an arreglado todos y me función todo perfecto la narrativa es buena y lo visual es magnifico, para mí es el juego perfecto.

I wouldn't say this is the best in the series though. It has a weak story, especially in comparison to the second game. In addition, the villans are a joke in comparison to the brutal, yet charismatic, handsome jack. But, the series was never mainly focused on making a good story. Rather, making compelling gameplay. As I mentioned earlier, the guns and sound design in are the best the series has seen. The crisp sound that each gun makes is satisfying and makes the guns especially fun to shoot. On the other hand, the missions in this game, moreso the side missions are a pain to get done. In the game its pretty much impossible to complete a mission if you're not at least within two levels of the recommended level requirment. Since the side missions barely give any XP you are left doing love and rather pointless side missions for meager amounts of XP. In conclusion, while better than presequal, this entry is only a few steps above the first and is heavily flawed. if you're looking for a borderlands experience with a good story and amazing characters, you should stick to 2. But, if you're looking for amazing gameplay and glorious sound and level design. You should try 3.… Expand

    I loved Borderlands 2, i hated Borderlands 1 and The Pre-Sequel was okay. After ~70hours playing Borderlands 3 i can tell this one will be better than Borderlands 2 at the end (when i say "at the end" it means with every DLC realeased, etc.). When i see people putting a 2/10 to the game and saying "they were big fans of old Borderlands game", that's **** Maybe you prefered Borderlands 2/1 or Pre-Sequel, but if you loved the old games you can't dislike this one ...

    Now for the tricky part.

    What's wrong with the game ?

    - The story and the antagonists, they are not as great as the Handsome Jack was (but how could they be ? Jack was absolutely perfect)
    - I thought the game less funny than Pre-Sequel. They are taking themselves too seriously at some point, they should go 100% into humour, honeslty.
    - There is too many bad legendary weapons
    - The Chaos mode is awfully balanced
    - There is no "specific boss-loot" wich pushes you to farm the same boss over and over because it's more worth it
    - Not enough exploitation of the secondary characters, because of that we can't care about them
    - Some lags (but it gets better and better)

    | Let's just say that most of what i said before was annouced to be worked on by the developers (excepted the story)

    Sincerly, i really want to point out the main hypocrisy of some people around here. After an epic fail from gearbox (battleborn) and five years of developement, they finally bring us what we wanted. A complete game without in-game purchased (excepted from the 4 DLC), just a fun game to play alone or with ur friends. You may not like the atmosphere of Borderlands, that's true, it's particular. The humour will be funny for some and boring for the others. But you can't tell that this game was made only for money or crap like that.
    The day we will be getting just those **** games like ghost recon breakpoint, we'll see who's gonna lough.

    Final point here : if you like Borderlands atmosphere, humour and what comes with it, go ahead, you won't regret it. If you have never played a Borerlands game before, i would recommand you getting Borderlands The Handsome Collection on steam before (5$) and if you enjoy it, go ahead with Borderlands 3.    … Expand

    I don’t even know how to start correctly, I’ll say simply, this is a wonderful game. If you used to play a series of borderlands games, and were waiting for the sequel, then this game is for you. Everything that you like in borderlands is in the third part.

    Ok. so I bought borderlands 3 knowing that it had some meh reviews, but when I entered the game I was amazed by the graphics and the style of the game and I just wanted to say that this game is a masterpiece and that I didn't experience any bugs and I didn't have any lag issues
    So my conclusion is, buy the game.Please!It's super fun!

    Abysmal writing to the point that people are literally removing the game's dialogue files. For example, see Lilith. The game opens with Marcus hailing Lilith as the hero that "saved Pandora over and over" even though half the events of 2 were directly her fault after she disfigured Handsome Jack and got Roland killed. The game opens with Marcus hailing Lilith as the hero that "saved Pandora over and over" even though half the events of 2 were directly her fault after she disfigured Handsome Jack and got Roland killed. Pre-Sequel all but spelled out that her obsession with revenge against anyone she feels was even remotely connected to Jack and thus Roland's death was leading her down a dark path, but this plot point is ultimately abandoned despite it being central to the character they spent the entire game shilling.     The Game makes a lot of Fun World is Pretty Cool and the New Combat Fluid but the Story meh not the Best. I would still play it but the Performance is Pretty baaaaad. I get on Very Low like 160FPS and it still laggs like i Put it on Ultra.... I Can play games with higher Specs more Fluid and Better than BO3.

    Borderlands 3 is a great game lagged down by some varying issues.

    The gameplay is honestly, in my opinion, the best there has been in the series thus far. While there are only 4 characters thus far and no conformation of more yet, the characters we do have have more diversity in builds than ever before. Multiple action skills and "augments" (think they're called something else but still) really lets you try different things out and makes each character feel like so much more than the previous ones. The gun play is great and the guns themselves are awesome and as cool or weird as ever.

    With the current Mayhem 2.0 patch, endgame balancing is far far superior in my opinion than that of UVHM and particularly the OP levels we've seen previously. The Mayhem levels only increase the health, armor, and shields of enemies and not their levels so the damage dealt to them and yourself is the same across the board, which cannot be said for the previous OP level system. Along with this there are some modifiers that will increase difficulty a little further, but thus far these have been fairly unobtrusive with it allowing you to reroll until you find a set of modifiers you can agree with. Currently the number of weapons that are viable at the highest difficulty, Mayhem 10, is a little restrictive, but there are promises of patches in the near future that will help address this bringing lower tier weapons up the ladder while nerfing some of the more frequently used and powerful guns. These nerfs though should also be balanced a fair bit by a blanket reduction of health given to enemies at the higher mayhem levels making it generally easier. Build variety is fairly open from what I've seen allowing lots of play styles. Overall, the balancing currently is good and should only get better.

    The endgame lacks as much content as there was in Borderlands 2, but still has a lot more to do than that of The Pre Sequel. There is a moderate amount of things to do with plenty of normal bosses to farm. There is only one major raid boss currently being Wotan. More are believed to be coming, but are yet to be seen. As far as DLC goes currently we have The Handsome Jackpot and Love, Guns, and Tentacles, both of which I think are great and add enough content to warrant the purchase of. DLC 3 is about to be announced and a 4th is coming further down the line. Content updates are also fairly frequent with events and weapons being added giving more stuff to do and bring ya back.

    The story is probably my biggest gripe. It's... disappointing to say the least. It's definitely not the reason you'll want to buy the game. I'd go as far to say that Borderlands 1 may have done it better purely because you really can't be let down too much there at least. There are good moments and characters, but there are also some major downs and frustrations. Some fan favorites are pushed aside in favor of old and new ones that are not expanded on in as meaningful of a way as I'd and a lot of others would like. The story is just a step back from that of TPS and BL2. That's for sure.

    Little things. The tech issues I know were present at launch have mostly been sorted out to the best of my knowledge so it runs quite well. The initial reveal and launch of the game was a complete catastrophe between Epic Store exclusivity, Randy Pitchford in general, tech issues, story issues, ect. There is a lot that left a sour taste in my mouth. I waited until the steam release. I've more than enjoyed my time and love the game, but I have to speak up to the wrongs and stupidity of a lot of whats happened between the reveal and now. The games come a long way and it's better for it, but I'm not forgetting the wrongs here.

    Overall, Borderlands 3 is a great game, just not the best. I'm excited to see the new DLCs and other content coming to the game and hope to see it lead to a Borderlands "4" that's better than ever. I hope the developers learn from everything they do to make that next entry that much more amazing, maybe even surpassing Borderlands 2. I love this series so much. From the a little after the last DLCs release for the first game to now this series has brought me thousands of hours of entertainment and has become a large part of my overall love for games. Thank you Gearbox for my favorite game franchise, and thank you to anyone that managed to slog through this nerds overly long user review on metacritic. Sure the humor wasn't there compared to Borderlands 2 and I do think Handsome Jack is a better villain (Butt Stallion, Tiny Tina expansion was GREAT). But I enjoyed the playthrough. The gun damage is confusing though, it varies by a lot. So far I use Shocking AAA and Yellowcake as my main guns. Oh yeah, and just when you thought the story was going to end before the Troy fight, it goes on for a while after that (not too long though). Confusing kinda, but overall I liked the game.… Expand

    There are many issues with this game but I still logged 300 hours in it. For what it's worth, most of these issues only occur in the post-mainquest-endgame, so if you wanna just do the mainquest and side quests, this game is pretty bug-free.

    tl;dr- an extremely fun mess. Try to get it on sale with all the DLCs.

The DLCs have also been good thus far, improving on characters and story beats from the main game. However, there is just so much damn waiting. The game loads slow, especially on co-op and has a tendency to crash when trying to get back to Sanctuary, which you have to do an absurd amount of times. This has been improving with newer hotfixes but is still really annoying. The gameplay also makes you wait, why the hell does every single boss become invincible at some point during their fight? It feels like game time padding and is not fun. Then there's the story slowing you down too. In the first game there were only a few mandatory dialogue scenes and all quests you could read the description if you wanted to or just skip over it if you didn't care about the story and weren't stuck waiting. Whereas this one nearly every quest makes you wait to listen to someone talk and dont try to jump ahead of them because you'll have to go back and pick something up from them. That's my main issue with this game is the sheer amount of waiting to get to the actual gameplay. Wait to load, wait to listen to dialogue, wait for boss to not be immune. If they went back to letting the gameplay move you along and not halting it so much with long dialogue and drawn out immunity boss fights that would make it much more enjoyable.… Expand

Геймплей и возможности довольно сильно расширились, в частности хочется отметить улучшение системы передвижения. В целом всё, что было хорошо в предыдущих частях, осталось: разнообразные локации и противники, которыми игра жонглирует, не давая игроку заскучать, безбашенные и забавные ситуации и квесты, отсылки к поп-культуре. В игре есть немало отсылок к предыдущим частям, так-же приятно будет встретить знакомых персонажей серии. Возможно, для игроков, не игравших в предыдущие части серии что-то может остаться непонятным или просто бессмысленным. Начинать знакомство с borderlands с этой игры явно не стоит.
    Каждое прохождение стало более уникальным, теперь, помимо пассивных перков, можно выбирать и способности своему персонажу, сами персонажи имеют куда больше различий. Оружие не придётся менять каждые пару уровней, теперь пушки остаются актульны значительно дольше. Само оружие тоже стало более разнообразным.
    Появилось больше стимула изучать локации.
    Отдельно стоит выделить саундтрек, который получился довольно разнообразным (в связи с разнообразием локаций) и интересным. Каждая композиция отлично работает на погружение и атмосферность. Злодеи слишком пытаются походить на Джека из 2-ой части и во многом преуспевают, но всё же не дотягивают, возможно разработчикам стоило попытаться придумать что-то новое, несмотря на это они довольно хорошо отыгрывают свою роль, в отличии от новых положительных персонажей.
    Теперь о минусах. В игре есть баги. Они не критичны, все что встретились лично мне, это пара непоявившихся боссов, что решается простым перезаходом в игру.
    Если во второй части выбить легендарное оружие было довольно сложно, то теперь легендарок будет слишком много, что в очередной раз обесценивает обычные и редкие пушки.
    Новые персонажи. Ужи знакомые герои серии остались почти без изменений, это те же персонажи, которых мы знаем уже давно. Но новые персонажи, например Лорелай, оказались, не то чтобы плохими, но просто неинтересными и скучными. У них нет, ни особенностей, ни запоминающихся черт или своих фишек.
    Но в целом получилась именно та игра, которую ждали большинство фанатов: стилизованные шутки, знакомые персонажи и безумная атмосфера, только с лучшей графикой и более интересным геймплеем.    … Expand

    yuck and adding a second season pass for 30€ with content that could have redeemed the Foundation of the Game but nah better sell it to the cashcows

    - This is probably the best installment in the series yet. It has an overall engaging story, fun characters, well-balanced fighting that stays fun throughout, and a good variety of enemies and weapons.
    - The story is pretty funny and ridiculous. It's a great parody of modern social media influencer culture. There is a decent plot twist at the end.
    - The mission featuring the real voices and likenesses of Penn & Teller, and lampooning the Burning Man festival, is particularly well done.
    - If you have a capable graphics card, Borderlands's signature cell-shading art style is still super gorgeous. The environments are prettier than ever.
    - Orange items, the best item type, which has some kind of unique special ability, are much more common, which is more fun to be honest.

    THE BAD:
    - The plot, while overall fun and funny, involves your opponents being omniscient and knowing everything you are doing and planning. It feels a bit frustrating at times to have the bad guys outplay you constantly with knowledge they couldn't possibly have.
    - The are several important cutscenes that involve the NPCs doing major things, but where your characters are apparently sitting around powerless with their thumbs occupied.
    - Make sure you have the subtitles on!  It can be hard to follow the plot sometimes when people are talking while bullets and explosions are flying everywhere!

    THE UGLY:
    - We did encounter some annoying bugs three or four times. Mission objectives would fail to complete, usually after fighting our way through a really long level. It wasn't a show-stopper, but we had to reload the game and start the mission from the beginning again.
    - A lot of the macguffins you search for through the entire game lead up to building a magic bridge across a chasm... a chasm that you could have easily crossed using routinely available vehicles depicted many times in the story... I'm not sure if this was tongue-in-cheek or an oversight?    … Expand

    No serious bugs or crashes, already completed 3 playthroughs and I'm itching for a 4th. This game is at it's best when played with a couple of friends. Single-Player would probably be a lot less fun.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I bought this game both on Steam & Stadia, they both run very good and I am actually surprised how extremely good it runs and looks on Stadia. I bought BL3 after finally getting tired of BL1, 2 & TPS.

    I love BL3 but not as much as BL2, the gunplay is alot better in BL3 in my opinion, story is decent, playable characters are fun but there is one big issue I have with BL3 and that is how easy it is right off the bat (playing on Normal), i've done multiple playthroughs now and every single time I get overpowered legendaries at around lvl 3-5 that I can bring down bosses up to lvl 15 with in about 5-8 seconds, the spread on loot needs to be tuned down, less legendaries and more purples would be alot better.

    Reason for this is because every time I do a new game, I don't have to upgrade my gear every level, I can use lvl 3-4 legendaries up until about lvl 15 before I need to change, the whole game is about getting better loot, the sellpoint of BL has always been, "A billion guns", "A gazillion guns" etc, you know what I'm talking about and this is completely pointless in BL3, loot barely matters. Sure there is anointment weapons which is basiically the new "legendary" but this system completely removes the need for green and blue items during the whole first playthrough on Normal, it takes away the fun that Borderlands has always been about and it does that right from the start.

    Would I recommend this game? Hell yes, it's a blast to play but for old BL players you may be disappointed and positively surprised at the same time.    … Expand

    While the story and content is a little lacking in challenge, if you enjoy mindlessly shooting enemies and not really having to try hard, it works. The PC version runs 100% better than the ps4 version.

    I personally did not experience any major issues with game. The only noticieable issue was lag in the inventory. However, the story was terrible and twins were so annoying. I was hyped and was disappointed by this. Gameplay was nice and there were more vehicles and more guns but twins gave me a heada

    As someone who has played all previous borderlands games and expansions, I am happy to say that Borderlands 3 did not disappoint me. I still think Borderlands 2 is better in terms of the characters and stories, but the gun-play and movement are certainly much better here. I played through the game solely for the satisfying gun fights.     I enjoyed Borderlands 3 with no major issues. After beating it I didn't really have any desire to play through again or to continue grinding, and I was happy with what it was for what it was.

    the gameplay is so smooth, weapons are great, you can play so many builds on all characters...
    i'd give a
    9/10 for gameplay
    6/10 for story
    2/10 for dlc's ridiculously high prices and cosmetic micro transactions

    overall i rather play BL3 than any other Bl title.

    I've sunk about 200 hours into this game from just how much fun the gunplay is. There are just so many different weapon types with different Playstyles that no matter who you are you're gonna find a lot that you like. Each of the playable vault hunters are fun and the environments are just amazing visually. But the main issue of this game is how bare bones and boring the story is. Borderlands 3 gives you better movement, better guns, funny side quests and lots of Fun, but worst main Story then Borderlands 2. If you play games ONLY jifor their main Story, B3 isnt for you. If you play games for gameplay, B3 Is must have for you. BTW it have full COOP

    I wanted to like this game but I just couldn't get into it. i've played other borderlands games before and had a great time spraying bullets mindlessly. This game looks great and plays well but the story and progression felt bad to me. If you want the 'Borderlands' loot' n shoot then this is a definite upgrade from older games.     POSITIVES:
    - Graphics look great. It's the same art style but look a lot cleaner and leaner
    - Guns feel good to shoot. Bullets aren't slow and actually feel like they make an impact
    - Ton of custom gun options. Each gun can have different modifiers and will have you grinding loot to find your perfect gun
    - Still plenty of potty humor

    NEGATIVES:
    - Progression feels a little too quick and it feels like you outgrow guns very quickly. This leads to constantly switching to higher level weapons in order to deal decent damage (hard to get attached). Also the amount of rare/legendary weapons that you acquire take out the feeling of accomplishment.
    - Character that you can pick from are rather generic in terms of personality. They also all felt kind of out of date with their references (a little cringe)
    - The main villains weren't very compelling and got old quick. They kind of felt like a boomer's perspective on zoomers.
    - There were definitely points in the story that could have been completely avoided but somehow managed happen. Really killed the vibe of the game to me.    … Expand

    Ava. AVA, AVA, AVA, AVA and AVA. She is the most hated character on my list, ever, no cap. Fcking annoying little bastard. I would prefer a mod where she doesnt exist or a mod where she dies instead of anyone really.
    No melee options, you can get weapons, shields, etc. that gives you some sort of extra dmg for your meeles but thats it, not a single knife, pipe, baseball bat, i saw a fcking badass chainsaw in a main quest and i was so disappointed that i couldnt pick it up. (i did a melee amara build but it wasnt satisfying.)

    The positives:

    Guns, guns everywhere in every form. Literally tons of guns, too little space in the backpack.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's more of the same which isn't a bad thing. There really isn't anything new or revolutionary over previous games. It could have been DLC and accomplished the same thing. Again, not necessarily a bad thing.

    The issues that bring this game down over its predecessors is the story and the bugs. On the story side this game was just dull and went on entirely too long. Spoiler - by mid game every major mission ended with you doing a lot of shooting to get something and then the bad guys magically appear out of nowhere, take it all away and wipe out everybody on your team. It doesn't matter that they couldn't handle whatever the challenge was themselves, they always immediately disable you and there is nothing you can do about it. Rinse and repeat over the back half of the game and it just becomes incredibly dull. Towards the end of the game the villains are even considered invincible and have powers that, if they were real, would completely wipe you out with no chance of winning. And yet you still have the traditional boss fight at the end where suddenly you are able to defeat them even though you couldn't the entire game before. This just reeks of a slapped on story.

    The other big issue is with the premise that you have a ship and can go to other planets. Yet every planet looks exactly like the others and they all look like the places from B2. One would have assumed that they would have used the "planets" as a way to show different biomes like perhaps an ice world or something from the pre-quel but they didn't. It is just the same biome over and over again. Really a letdown given this was hyped up before the games release.

    On the bugs side the loading times on a fast machine is awful. I can boot Windows in 10 seconds and this game takes over a minute to start even on an nvime drive with more CPU power than the game needs. And then as soon as the load screen appears it freezes for another 10 seconds or so. And if you do an update and it has to refresh the shaders then you might as well go to lunch.

    Once in the game the perf is generally OK but bugs are still plenty. I played co-op and my partner lost the ability to hear cutscenes after a while, the name indicators over each other's heads stopped working and there were stutters throughout. At the end of the game after a particular cutscene the next cutscene started playing (so many of them) and the subtitles from a cutscene a while back was stuck on the screen. My co-op partner didn't even see the subtitles. The subtitles stuck around every cutscene after that until we stopped playing.

    As far as loot it was seriously screwed up compared to previous games. The best loot we got was from normal kills. Every time the game hyped up a vault or a cool boss we got white or green weapons. It was rare to get blues or better. It was particularly funny when towards the end of the game one of the NPCs gave us his "personal" weapon to help in the upcoming boss fight and it was a white for both of us. Overall the loot just seemed weak compared to previous games. I stuck with my lower level legendary weapons from mid game all the way until end because they simply were better than everything else.

    Overall this is more of the same. It doesn't in any way move the series folder and could have just been a DLC and been just as good. The story and loot were bad compared to other games and it just went on way longer than it needed to with no real benefit.    … Expand

I respected Gearbox for telling an engaging story that made sense, with a villian that can be considered one of the best in all of gaming. To go from that to the entitled, insufferable, ****ty Hot Topic employee wannabe brats is actually impressive in its incompetence. Oh, but how can we forget the equally entitled, unworthy, insufferable, disrespectful, undignified little **** that pops up half way through the game and gets everyone she cares about killed. Only to be rewarded with God-like power and undue respect from broken, striped down, disrespected characters we have grown with and loved? I'm utterly impressed with the absolute heel turn Borderlands 3 is from Borderlands 2. I didn't know it was possible to screw things up that badly. My only hope is that the people in charge of these absolute braindead decisions at Gearbox reads every one of these 0 to 1 star reviews so they can feel a fraction of the disappointment they have bequeathed to their fandom with what can only be adequately described as Satan's **** of a game. Fire whoever was responsible for this waste of space in my gaming library and go back to respecting your story and your fans. Or you can sit in a circle with J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson with your fingers in your ears so you can't hear how you took a media Titan and crumbled it into what is akin to a steaming pile of dog vomit.… Expand

    When the game was realesed I gave it 5/10, because nugs, glithces, optimisation etc.

    but now the game has finally become playable and it's enjoyable as BL 2 or with DLCs maybe even better. 8/10

    The game is passable at best, but more so hindered by poor support for anything more than a 16:9 & 16:10 aspect ratio. It's seriously not hard to code UI scaling into an engine, please grow up and learn to optimize accessibility for all users' gearbox.

It's as if Gearbox had a TV show that was hugely popular, picked a character from that show that was reasonably well-liked, and said, "Hey, let's make a spin-off and see ifI've figured out what my gripe is with Borderlands 3. It doesn't feel like a Borderlands game. It feels like a spin-off of a Borderlands game, which is a shame because the playable characters are pretty cool concepts. Then, the show airs and most of the fans stop watching after the first episode. They hyped the hell out of this game, boasting how it was open world, and it doesn't even feel like a world. The planets feel empty, soulless, devoid of any wow-factor. Any enemies you run into only exist as the subjects of quests dragging you to and fro. I thought that, maybe, if I tried it on PC (as it's free to try on Steam for the next 5 days), I might like it better than I did on PS4. Nope.     However, as a pure looter shooter BDL3 is one of the best, and truth be told, i even think it exceeds the previous games.
    The fact that they cut some parts out of the story and sold it separately (not referring to season pass) also doesn't help. I personally hate this cash grabbing scheme a whole lot!
    So in all fairness i would rate this game between 7.5 and 8 but not above because it's overall lacking in several ways. However i can only speak for the PC version on Epic, so it might be a bit better on other programs and whatnot.
    But for me, it's certainly not going to be as memorable as with the previous titles so yeah it is what it is. The game is great, yet not as epic as could be for me.    … Expand

    Gearbox has a problem: the fantastic Borderlands 2 is too good to be beaten. But in the case of Borderlands 3, it is still more than a worthy successor. The filmmakers brought many pop-cultural references, maybe pushing too hard on how they want to be “modern”, but otherwise it's a great game again. [Issue#298]

    Borderlands 3 offers a generous experience, with colourful characters, neat gameplay and a charming universe. Its formula, very close to that of the previous episodes does not revolutionize the show but its small new features bring a little freshness and the scenario makes us want to go to the end of the adventure. Its dynamism and nervousness make it a choice piece for adrenaline-ready FPS lovers and license fans.

    The fun, humorous storyline, some great dialogue and theatrical accents of the diverse characters, beautifully varied locations and the same great gunplay that Borderlands is renowned for, means that Borderlands 3 becomes another must have title in the series.
