Fantastic series so far, tense with high stakes. The treatment of the characters has been very well done, and the sexist/racist people review bombing the show should be ashamed of themselves.

Seen a lot of reviews from individuals whose agenda doesn’t appear to be related to the actual program. I thought the episodes I’ve see so far have been well written and acted, I see they’ve apparently already greenlit season 2. Good decision.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The series is setting up wonderfully. It's heart wrenching to see Kenobi as such a broken and hopeless wretch, but at least to me it seems obvious that we're being set up for a killer redemption arc. Leia is portrayed wonderfully, and her pinpoint perception of Kenobi is both hilarious and awe inspiring. I'm greatly looking forward to the next several episodes! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This series is fantastic! All our questions about what Obi Wan was feeling in those days after Revenge of the Sith are being answered. The pain and the loss of his friend and brorher, Anakin overtook the emotions of Obi Wan. The thirst of power by the inquisitors is a nice touch to the series but the highlight for me is little Leia! Following these “fans” being called out by both the official Star Wars page and the lead actor, Ewan McGregor, this review bombing has taken place. This preface was necessary to provide context on the scene. The actual fans of this series are really enjoying it - me personally, as a huge Prequels fan, I am loving the callbacks to those movies and seeing Ewan McGregor back as the titular Kenobi once more. The series has a lot of great action sequences and dialogue throughout, and the core storyline is proving to be a very interesting one. I’ll admit my own bias in giving the series a 10/10, but even if I weren’t being blinded by my own nostalgia and love for this series and characters, I’d still probably give it an 8/10 so a high score from me regardless. Don’t be out off by the low user reviews and give it a shot yourself! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Where do I begin with this… I think Kenobi and the Book of Boba Fett are perfect examples of when a franchise becomes overly corporate and lacks any heart what so ever. Since episode 1 of Kenobi it was felt cheap, the writing has been very poor, the direction has been amateurish, the scenes feel blocky and lack logic. Characters that are meant to smart become incredibly dumb. Kenobi is completely deconstructed as a character and Disney nerf him into the ground. Kenobi’s whole job is to protect Luke yet he completely shuts himself off from the force and buried his lightsaber in the sands of tattooine. Kenobi frequently runs away from the fight. He is not the same character. He is a deconstruction of what used to be. Similarly to Luke Skywalker in the sequel trilogy, this character has been broken down and made an example of. The new inquisitor Reva is one of the most laughably terrible villains I’ve ever seen in Star Wars. No hate to the actress. I think she does what she’s told from the director and the writing doesn’t help. But the character of Reva exists to be amazing at everything and you will not understand one single motive of hers. The handling of Vader is something I have a problem with. I feel Disney just think they can throw Darth Vader out and the masses will drool. Not me. Vader is handled with little grace. The so called “rematch of the century” echoed by Kathleen Kennedy was a mediocre duel (if you can call it that) on a boring planet where Obi Wan runs away all the time and Vader let’s him go because of some fire…. I was never hot on the former master/apprentice meeting before a new hope and this is precisely the reason why I hate the decision. It makes zero sense now. I will say, Jimmy Smits and Joel Edgerton returning as Bail Organa and Uncle Owen are really amazing and they both do phenomenal jobs with their few scenes. I think the actors try their best with the **** sandwich they’ve been given. If you’re a prequel boy like me who grew up with the prequels and OT… skip Kenobi. Keep your memory of these characters in tact. Watch literally anything else. I recommend dune. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. An excellent show that deals well with some mature topics such as war and its victims, PTSD, mistreatment of veterans and drug abuse. Moses Ingram as Reva is brilliant, portraying the young, bloodthirsty Inquisitor with a tangible zeal. I note that some criticise Reva's actions and demeanour as unnecessarily reckless, performative and even childlike; however, in my opinion, Ingram's performance is very similar to Hayden Christensen's and Matt Lanter's portrayals of Anakin Skywalker. Both are young recruits to their respective orders, trying to gain favour with their Masters - Skywalker, yearning for a position on the Jedi Council as a Master; and Reva, trying to earn Darth Vader's favour to become the new Grand Inquisitor.

The show gives us a brilliant insight into the difficult dynamic between high-ranking Imperials, further building on the ruthless competition between Krennic and Tarkin in Rogue One; it also gives us a brand-new perspective on the fall of the Jedi Order, seen through the eyes of Ewan McGregor's traumatised and cynical Obi-Wan, which presents a stark and welcome contrast with the saccharine tones of hope and optimism that pervade other "prequel-sequel" shows like Rebels.

I can't wait for the remaining episodes of this show.

So far loving what they are doing with Obi Wan series, I've been a Star Wars fan since A new hope was released in the 70s and the show is a hit among Star Wars fans in our Facebook groups, people absolutely loving it so ignore the Fandom Menace who are trying to belittle it. Ewan's acting has really matured over the years and how he conveys emotions really comes through, you can tell he is enjoying himself a lot more than in the prequels. The actress who plays Leia also does an amazing job of portraying a young Leia. Also love Moses who plays the 3rd Sister, she comes over as menacing and dangerous and a real threat to Kenobi. SPOILER* SPOILER* The only critique I would give is they did a bit too much Vader, less is more. But that's only a minor thing. I really hope Ewan pushes for a second season. Expand

They aren’t the fans that actually enjoy the show, they’re just mad that Star Wars is finally taking a stand for their actors after fumbling beforehand. And they don’t like that the lead actor, Ewan, took a stand against them too. They cover their racism as criticism toward a wonderful actress and a literal child actor. They aren’t fans, they’re bullies. They don’t give anything a tv show the whole runtime to make their assumptions. Large influencers like Geeks+Gamers also encourages the racism and bullying. This series is nothing short of but greatness. It does have its flaws but that is easily overlooked by Ewan’s superb acting at showing how broken Kenobi really is. How the story is unfolding is getting interesting. Reva’s character is starting to fill out little by little. This show is peak Star Wars. Expand

This has been the yet another disappointment by Disney. But this is all we can expect from them at this point.

The writing of the show is terrible, so far in the first 3 episodes alone it breaks canon multiple times. Obi Wan has been emasculated to the surprise of no one.
And in typical Disney fashion the show is actually a bait and switch. Using a BELOVED character that the fans wanted to see for years, only to emasculate them and treat them like garbage only to promote their new characters like the character of Riva, which is a terribly written and acted character, that should have no place in the show and more importantly, should not know the things she knows.

But who can even be surprised by Disney at this point. The whole point of Riva is to generate clicks by SJW's on twitter (SJW's that don't even watch your products or pay for them Disney)

And make no mistake, Disney is trying to spin the narrative that the fans are outraged by gender and skin color, but the truth is that 99.9% of the fans have no issues with skin color or gender, they have issue with badly written and acted characters that are shoved in the shows only to tick boxes.

We loved Lando Calrissian, we loved Mace Windu and so many others like Moff Gideon, James Earl Jones is the voice of Darth Vader for crying out loud, the most important character in the franchise. Yet in recent interviews Disney and the actress of Riva - Moses Ingram tries to claim that she is the first person of color in Star Wars. That and the numerous breaking of the canon, paint the picture many of us know to be true for years, that Disney does not care for the IP, does not know the IP, the people they hire have not done their research regarding the characters and the universe they are portraying. Their only goal and purpose is to push their agendas using the corpse of Star Wars as a platform.

A bunch of people that know nothing about Star Wars making a garbage TV show to get some quick cash, unsubscribing from Disney+ and not going to support them until something changes. George is probably so disappointed

They had one of the most iconic characters in cinematic history, a plethora of possibilities and the fan base keyed up and ready to love this. What happened? Why was the script accepted? Why was this terrible show even allowed to be aired? Its just a terrible waste of potential and I think the end of the road for me and Star Wars. Some odd decisions. Not sure which direction they are going for with it. Does feel like it's very woke. Kenobi is portrayed as weak and useless where in every other film he never gives up and is a real hero character. Not good

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. While it isn’t a 100% smooth start, Obi-Wan Kenobi is good at what it does. Star Wars writing has always been cheesy, it’s part of the appeal. A man is not going to be in good shape after surviving a genocide and losing almost all of his close friends. This show is about him finding himself again, learning to overcome and grow stronger because of it. I don’t believe most of the negative reviews to be valid, it is not a perfect show by any means but so much of the criticisms are direct misunderstanding of the source material. We’re three episodes in at this point, let the story play out before you throw your fit. Expand

I grew up with the prequels and I seen Revenge of the Sith in the movie theater. They don't care about Star Wars they care about using Star Wars as a platform to push their woke characters. Inquisitors is a made-up storyline by some woke writer. It doesn't line up with what happened in Revenge of the Sith. The woke writers just came up with the Inquisitor storyline so they could push their woke characters. This is a bad trend in Hollywood because we've seen it a lot with other franchises like Marvel. I'm not racist I have no problem with black characters or black female characters. But I have a problem with the Inquisitor storyline and them using the Obi-Wan Kenobi show to push this black female character cus the show shouldn't be about her. Make your own show about her instead and don't connect it to the prequels. Literally they're saying they don't care about fans that grow up with the prequels cus we are like 30-40 or older now. So if you don't care about what older fans think of Star Wars then why are you making shows involving the characters we grew up with? If you want to make Star Wars for new fans then make stories that have nothing to do with the prequels or the original trilogy. You could have just brought back Mace Windu and said that Yoda rescued him on a anti-gravity craft and gave him a mechanical arm and then had him meet up with Obi-Wan or something. I mean that would be more believable than this woke storyline with this female character that just so happens to be black. I mean I'm sorry guys but this is just completely ridiculous and I'm totally done with Star Wars. I've been done with Star Wars and I seen this coming when I read about it before the show even came out. Kathleen is still in charge and until Star Wars has new leadership that's not woke I will never watch another Star Wars show or movie. If you don't see and understand what's going on with Hollywood dividing us with race then you're not paying attention. This is Illuminati dividing and conquering us politicizing our entertainment. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I wanted to like this series. Obi wan is one of my favorite characters but this Disney interpretation has ruined a beloved character to push gas lighting and a bait and switch. The Reva character is pointless, terrible writing, and is the focus of why? To push some agenda.

Young Rey, I mean Leia. She has more screen time and lines than Obi wan for some reason.

Obi wan is a bumbling idiot now and has no idea how to wield or turn on a light saber anymore and can barely use the force.

Continuity doesn’t matter anymore. Obi wan is trying to train Luke way before Yoda. A akin is not quite Vader yet and is chilling in a bacta tank for ten years and apparently they have their rematch before the events of episode four.

Star Wars is a shadow of its former self

Not as bad as I feared, not nearly as good as it should be. Casting for young Leia is spot-on, but her vernacular feels too modern at times. Ewan is doing the best he can with a sub-par show, and Ingram could no doubt have been a good, or at least tolerable character, had only Lucasfilm not been utterly incompetent in both script and cinematography.
