This is made by people who do not understand Star Wars, its universe, its characters, its music, its visuals. Nothing in this TV Show is Star Wars.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After watching episode 3 I have to drastically change my review. I was at a generous 6/10 and I was kinda optimistic for the show. While flawed, I initially thought it had potential and enough good ideas to keep me going.

Than along came a Vader... Episode 3 is essentially The Last Jedi all over again, suberting expectations and dismantling a beloved childhood hero. The story itself probably even isn't that bad, I might buy in a "what if" scenario. But good lord, Obi Wan deserves better than this. Apart from fan raving, the episode is full of plot holes, it doesn't make much sense in terms of canon and essentially contradicts itself every minute or two. Just one example, Obi Wan spends some time to disable a laser barrier his truck can't pass, but you could walk around it in seconds. After disabling it they ditch the truck and walk through it. Is there nobody doing a quality check? Or another example, literally from one minute to another Darth Vader loses the ability to extinguish a fire with the force, what he has literally done seconds before. Seriously?

So, anything good? Yeah, Reva is barely in it and Moses acting is a bit better. So at least it is not a bait and switch. Can't recommend watching this, considering terminating my Disney+ subscription as I don't want to finance such atrocities.

This is not what I expected from the series. Reflective, weak, refusing to help Obi-Wan. The black villain and Leia are generally a complete horror. How tired I am of all this.
Ewan McGregor , Rupert Friend, Kumail Nanjiani- 10 out of 10.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Absolutely atrocious writing. Disney had just one job, and that was to make a show about Obi Wan. So far this show seems like the Leia/Reva show. The scenes with Kenobi are very little in a show that has his name as the title. Kenobi's job so far is cutting meat, and occasionally spying on luke for a few minutes, then going home, eating and sleeping. That is essentially all he does in the first episode. In the second episode, Obi Wan has to save Leia from kidnappers when his vow wasn't even to look after Leia in revenge of the sith. Nevertheless, we get an entire episode of Obi Wan chasing Leia around the city because apparently he is too slow and incompetent to catch a child as a full grown man. I am really disappointed at how he is written. He seems like a shell of the Obi Wan that we see in the prequels and the clone wars series. Kenobi doesn't feel like the protagonist in his own show. There are more things that I could mention like the bad cinematography, costume design, acting, music, etc., but this is the most glaring issue for me. Really Disappointing, even for Disney. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It is a shame what was done with the character. Watch the wise Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, general of the Clone Wars, member of the Jedi Council, master of the Chosen One and one of the mightiest Jedi to ever live reduced to an incompetent man who can't get anything done by himself, afraid of a wannabe Inquisitor and a few Stormtroopers, that needs guidance from a 10-year old, and worst of all, lost faith in the Force and in people (something a character like Obi-Wan would never, ever do) is downright painful. There is no justification to that "He spent years in the desert" is not good enough, by far. I don't know what the show writers have in mind, but it certainly isn't making good Star Wars and being respectful of the characters. Expand

Where to start easily one of my favourite characters and actors has been misfired straight in a whale sized dissapointment of one of my most anticipated series ever.

The show has been curated for children in what I and another's describe as a nickelodeon show. Lots of the show several scenes now involves the cringest chase scenes of a small 7 year old girl out running fully grown men through a forest then followed by a city. I realised this show was for children when disney introduced another "adorable droid" which made me realise that disneys fore front mind was monetisation they can sell toys of the droid. It seems disneys made agenda is to squeeze dollars however and wherever possible and making a good tense, thrilling series an afterthought. They've even introduced non cannon characters also as a villian, reeva a sith inquisitor who happens to be black into the show. I have no problem with black actors and actresses as i hope we get a mace windu series and lando, big fan of Carl weather's also in mando but this acting is horrendous and she shouts much of her way through the series. Honestly the tone is much to light for a dark time where jedi are being hunted down and murdered on the spot without trial in summary execution much like the gestapo did with the Jews. Disney have really wronged the fans here massively and the obi wan character for what was a show much long in the pipeline. I feel like I can no longer deny it disney has political agenda here and clearly as woke as it comes.

I'm more than happy for disney to start doing series with female leads, people of diverse backgrounds in original story's or characters already known. But its a obi wan show make it about him and respect that original star wars fans are not idiots and the show should be accessible for them. The reviews say it all and I'm not the only one.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So far after two episodes, this isn't that great. Acting seems very off and cheesy at times. Some of the writing makes zero sense. Like the Grand Inquisitor would not have allowed himself to be killed by a disobedient subordinate (I know he's not actually dead). And it doesn't seem like it's about Obi-Wan at all as it is about Reva it seems. My favorite parts were with Leia, even though some of those moments were beyond cheesy. Overall, hoping next four episodes are better. Expand

Trouble is, she's not intimidating or menacing in the slightest, she's whiney and unconvincing. This show is a dud, the iconic character of Obi-Wan is worthy of so much more. I suppose we'll just have to wait until the end of August for some genuinely good Star Wars in the form of Andor. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This show is wonderful. Nuanced writing, strong acting. I love how the focus is on Leia and and Obi-Wan's relationship. Also love Moses Ingram's portrayal of Riva. I love her raw rage and unhinged portrayal. I suspect that she is the little girl at the very beginning of the episode in the Order 66 scene. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this trauma led her to pursuing Obi-Wan. This is a great start and I'm really looking forward to the remaining episodes. Expand

In terms of subject matter, the show is really a non-starter, since there can be little tension when we know that the main characters, like Ben and Uncle Owen, will thrive at least up to 1977 (“Episode IV: A New Hope”). Can someone at Disney please explain to us how Deborah Chow qualifies for the position of showrunner? The quality of the scriptwriting is so abysmal that one wonders if the writers have ever actually watched any science fiction. With regard to the acting, the performances by Ewan McGregor and Joel Edgerton are consummate as we have come to expect. As for the rest, it appears that Disney has earmarked the greater share of the show’s budget for effects. — The Third Sister is about as threatening as a sock puppet with a frowny face. Yelling and acting out emotionally — well as emotional as one can squeeze from an otherwise wooden performance — is neither intimidating nor threatening: “sticks and stones, ya sithy!” — Leia is a reminder that force-feeding or “force projecting” (?; looking at you Mr. Johnson) adult lines to child is still wholly unconvincing and makes it really difficult for one to suspend their disbelief. The script writers seem to think that most adults will find a pedantic, smart aleck child to be cute. At this rate, we might as well extend the vote to ten-year-olds. The show’s visual effects are fairly good. Unfortunately, they are often used as a crutch to fill out the runtime. Star Wars has become a tired franchise of late. The special effects are exceptional, but the stories (barring perhaps Mando) are sorely lacking in originality and, for this reviewer, engagement. In sum, little shine and no substance best encapsulates Disney’s Obi-Wan Kenobi. There is a small chance that the show may yet improve, but it’s not looking good. As for the “fan-boys” giving this contrived, poorly executed mess a 10/10, I think it apropos to remind them of Obi-Wan’s famous words: “Who is more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows?” Expand

Anyway, when it comes to "Kenobi", I'm honestly just bored of Disney tapping into the same few characters and timelines for their original Star Wars shows. How many more times do I have to see Luke, Leia, Kenobi and Darth Vader on my screens? Can't y'all come up with some new characters and stories for once, perhaps in a different timeline?

The pacing of this show's plot is all over the place, the child actors (while delivering great performances) are given horrible scripts that make them sound like adults, and the planets are just dull at best. "Kenobi" just has no personality, and I don't see why this had to be its own thing. It's time to move on, Disney.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Got 40 minutes into the show and bailed. I'm by no means a Star Wars fan but every iteration after the original trilogy and outside of The Madalorian and Rogue One has been garbage. Three full-grown villains cannot catch a 6-year-old girl within 10 seconds? Really? Third Sister is an awful character with only one quality.

This one and Boba Fett have sucked so bad to the point I am done with anything Star Wars related moving forward.

The acting is horribad. Leia and obi wan have no idea who each other were in ANH, yet they meet 7 years prior and form a life changing bond.

What really bugs me is They dropped the ball with the "Anakin is alive" reveal.

Obi Wann should've communed with qui gonn. Qui gonn should've been the one to tell him as a force ghost.

Qui gonn had the connection to both anakin and obi wann. Qui gonn yelled out to anakin when he turned. Yoda heard it as well.

Third sister had no place to tell that reveal. It was a wasted opportunity
