Dearth Vader can force grab ObiWan but can cross the fire or grab him again before the droid drags him from the flames??? "How old are you?"-Ben to Leia, seriously??? You've been watching Luke for 10 years, they're twins.

CGI can't make up for the lackluster settings, I'd rather watch the prequels, this is bad. Dialogue is worse than a preteens diary.

I want to like this, I really do. I like Ewan McGregor, and seeing Darth Vader again, but this is garbage.

Don't think the show is good because of the positive reviews. Disney bots and reylos brigaded to positive review this.… Expand

1) The show is abysmal, a disgrace, neutering yet another beloved character to prop up newly introduced characters (naturally, women) who can't carry their own shows, so Kennedy & Chow instead have them "save" the Jedi Master who beat Anakin.1) The show is abysmal, a disgrace, neutering yet another beloved character to prop up newly introduced characters (naturally, women) who can't carry their own shows, so Kennedy & Chow instead have them "save" the Jedi Master who beat Anakin. The direction and casting are godawful, scene blocking horrendous (i.e. the chase scenes in the forest & on rooftops, the laser-gate Kenobi and Leia could've just walked around). Nothing makes any sense: Obi Wan has no force skills left but intended to train Luke how exactly? Some bottom-of-the-barrel Jedi-rando can easily find Luke in the desert but Reva/Vader can't? Somehow Vader can't use the force through a wall of fire (he himself just lit) and just stands there like an idiot? Obi Wan just blurts out Leia's name (and the storm troopers just let it go, even though they're looking for a 10-year old named Leia?) The list is endless.

2) There were 600+ new 9-10 ratings brigaded on here in the last day. Just look at the usernames -- they can't even be bothered to change the random numbers after their names:

Honestly, I had to create a meta account only because I feel like I must rate this series.

To myself: I‘m quite new in the Star Wars Universe. I started about 3 years ago, watched all movies several times, as well as Mando and Boba Fett andHonestly, I had to create a meta account only because I feel like I must rate this series.

To myself: I‘m quite new in the Star Wars Universe. I started about 3 years ago, watched all movies several times, as well as Mando and Boba Fett and also Clone Wars. Just to clarify that I‘m not someone who saw the stuff as a kind an because of that thinks the stuff was better back then bacause as a child you don‘t pay much attention on stuff, which adults might find bad in a movie.

To the show: It‘s a dissapointment. On many levels: Scenes like the capture of Leia, or also the rescue of Obi Wan from Vader…. it‘s badly written as well as horribly choreographed. There is no love for detail at all. Many episodes feel like they were just a storyboard where certain things still have to be added in order to make sense. They have no idea where this story is going to, they come up with some checkpoints in the story and then they sketch the way between the checkpoints. You NEVER get that feeling when you watch for example episodes 4-6, or the Mandalorian.
Also the character of Reva is a disaster. They have no clue what they want from her, the want her just to be a worthy opponent, but they try her to be to mighty, they don‘t focus on her character development at all or anything like that.
It‘s sad because the character had a lot of potential.

Another thing that bothers me is the whole racism debate the show has inflamed again, especially because of Reva. Disney Star doesn‘t support diversity, it EXPLOITS it: They create new characters in order to get up with the diversity quota. Ok for me. BUT BE AWARE OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITY: When you don‘t take care of these chatacters, write bad stories which even destroy roles like Obi Wan or Luke Skywalker, of course angry fans will focus their frustration on the first thing they notice that has chanced and which „makes sense to them“.
Be it new roles, new actors/actresses or be it the new owner Disney.

In conclusion: Disney should be aware of its role it takes in the Star Wars and its Fandome. You cannot blame others for the mistakes you make. Even the unappropriate and racist comments againts the actors, they were triggered because Disney just don‘t care about what they are producing, as long as it will be produced.… Expand

In Second Ep. she can mind read and can sense Obi-Wan because the bad writing demands it. In Third Ep. She can even teleport. Dont ask me how you will see. Granted they are operating with limited options from a plot perspective, however I would have liked to see this focus more on the evolution of Obi Wan from episode 3 super Jedi to episode 4.. but instead they're just destroying a beloved character for the sake of an agenda and some pretty obvious tropes. It's like a roller coaster but the ups are short and fleeting, while the downs are drops that leave you screaming. If you remove the nostalgia factor from the show, it's very poorly written, directed, and acted (with the exception of Ewan, who does a very good job with what little he's given to work with).… Expand

The same thing happens with another antagonist who also forgets powers until the plot requires it. Steer clear and wait for Ashoka (Directed by Dave Filoni). KENOBI is like Luke and they need Viagra to use the force, which is inconsistent with YODA not using the force then lifting an X-WING out of a swamp.

Rogue Jedi stops chasing Obiwan just because he closed the space shuttle's door in front of her face? OK maybe (even though she literally just jumped across so many roof tops)? But episode 3 is getting even worse... Obiwan simply surrenders to 3 storm troopers, even though he has just single handedly defeated more. Vader cannot cross a small line of like 20 feet long fire wall? And he cannot just walk around it? The laziness of writing the stories is simply heart breaking for an amazing actor and fans who had waited for so long. At least it is a good thing this did not get developed to a movie as originally planned. It would have been a bigger disaster.… Expand

Kenobi being somewhat depressed at the state of the galaxy is fine with me but to forget all of his training and won't do anything to help others is really stupid. By the way, Kenobi is an idiot in this show. Has his lightsaber for everyone to view, never had his hood over his head (in fact in front of Storm Troopers), says Leia name out loud in front of storm troopers, is lead around by a 10 year old Leia, has no idea how to be a Jedi, could have gone around the barrier if he was smart, and looks like he doesn't know what is going on. Everyone in the galaxy is after you, idiot try to freaking hide by wearing anything but Jedi robes dummy. Just awful!!! Reva knows information that should never EVER been know by Vader's "right hand man." Knowing that Vader was once Anakin Skywalker is insulting for George Lucas and everyone in the galaxy. Reva knowing who Leia is and trying to get Kenobi without any context is insulting. Reva is a one note character. I am mad all the time. No depth, no emotion, no real direction, or clear motivation. Reva is an awful character (coming from a black man too). Bail Organa being stupid enough to let his daughter get capture and does not hire a bounty hunter or send his garrison to find her. Luke is Kenobi's responsibility and Leia is his. Grow up and find her with your millions of credits. Vader is stupid too. Won't go through a fire to attack Kenobi. Really Vader!?! You can jump over it with the force man.

He essentially failed at his main task of keeping Anakin in the light. On top of that for ten years he thought he had killed Anakin, his "brother." It's easy to see how that could devastate a person, add to that the formation of the Empire and order 66. I think he will get it back before the end of the season. The issue I have and the reason I give a lower rating is the shoehorning of the Reva character into the narrative. It's the Obi-wan show, not the Reva show. We are tuning in to see what happened to him and can't help but feel that this is an attempt at subversion in order to push another character. First Disney turned Luke into a blue milk drinking weirdo, then they murdered Han. Now, Obi-wan is in the second seat in his own show. This should be about Obi-wan and Vader/Anakin. It's not a time to introduce a new character. It's obvious she is being introduced to fulfill some internal quota at Disney. It's not that she could be an interesting character, it's just that we are getting so much of her with no back story in the prior movies or shows. She's also hard to watch. Overly coarse and aggressive and not particularly well acted. If you want to see Ingram in a better role, watch the Queens Gambit.… Expand

My expectations for Obi-Wan were very low to begin with, partly due to the trailers and partly due to past experience with Disney ‘Star Wars’ products. I wasn’t prepared for the amount of (additional) damage they were willing to inflict on the storylines of the original films. What I also can’t fathom is how scripts like the one for Obi-Wan get greenlit for production in the first place. How is it possible that a character has certain powers that they make use of and a few seconds later they lack access to those same powers? If there’s a battery that needs recharging, then kindly let us, the audience, know about it so that we can make sense of the story.

Whilst in the past I thought this was down to lazy/subpar writing, the cynic in me is starting to wonder whether there has been a deliberate assault on good story telling, beloved characters and psychological archetypes, not only in Star Wars but Star Trek too (and from what I hear from friends in the Marvel universe as well).

What is offensive is how any form of criticism is immediately put down to perceived misogyny, racism and other undesirable character traits on the part of the disgruntled viewer. If the customer doesn’t like the product, denigrate the customer! Not only is it disrespectful to fans, it seems to achieve nothing for true equality for humanity in everyday life. A lot of the heroes in stories in my life have, for example, been female, but none of them were given their hero status by obscure deus ex machina manipulation, they naturally commanded that respect because of good, congruent story writing. That said, I don’t envy the actors – even the best performer can do very little with pedestrian dialogue of the kind that dominates Obi-Wan Kenobi. PS: Interesting that yesterday the average score was hovering around 3.4-3.8 and today it’s skyrocketed up to 7.2 within a short period of time, and mostly from users with no previous reviews to their credit giving 10/10 glowing reviews of the “everything is awesome/greatest show ever” type!?! The Force seems strong with the Clone armies.

Update after episode 6: soulful eye acting by Ewan + liked the split mask Vader/Anakin scene, but unfortunately it doesn't change the problem with the script and the disregard for the original films… Expand

As for the actual show itself, if you don't care about the real physics and mechanics of how something should work in real life, like a grown man being able to grab a 10 year old from 5 feet away before she escapes, this is not the series for you. The first time we see Vader and he lets his quarry of TEN YEARS just be carried away by a slow loading droid.. I don't know if I can even call this lazy writing as it takes ACTUAL THOUGHT to imagine the circumstances it would take to make ANY of this show actually make sense.
It's made for children who want nice CGI and flashy scenes and big character names, not the content or the story. This is a huge disappointment and a disaster for the Star Wars brand. I hope they don't make another season, the only way they will ever change what they're doing and listen to the real fans is with consistent, rational criticism. No amount of calling us racists or bigots will make their shows any better, and bending the knee to the greasy mouse won't make our beloved galaxy far, far away any better.… Expand

So yeah, the 10's are pretty much guaranteed to be false though some libtards might be responsible for those scores too.

Anyway the show is terrible and the bad scores have nothing to do with racism. Star Wars always had people of color and nobody had an issue with that. People are pissed at the bad writing, run of the mill special effects, redundant plot, mediocre acting and the ridiculous amount of agenda being shoved down their throats. Breaking the canon on numerous ocasions doesn't help either. Also the show is focusing on 3 strong women instead of our titular Jedi so we're dealing with a classic bait and switch. Most of the actors are completely talentless and make you cringe every moment of the show. Ewan McGregor looks like a superhuman, compared to them.
But also the directors and other crew seem to not know what they are doing at all.
The story has many gaping plotholes and doesnt fit in the established Star Wars universe at all. Its so obvious that you are only reminded of B-movies from the 50s that didnt bother with logic or continuity.
The casting is horrible and obviously a lot of wokeism and nepotism was involved in it.

The whole show feels very cheaply produced in general, so much that often you think its just a fan project. It often feels like a cheap scifi series from the 90s. Remember Lexx. Not anything like Star Wars.
Disney has obviously decided that quantity is better than quality.
The massive and very unusual amount of positive reviews here are very telling as well. I know nobody who likes it. Yet most "people" here voted 9 and 10? Yeah right.… Expand

Its cheap, crap, its a waste of time, it could just have not existed. It doesnt add anything. This filling in the gaps only worked with Clone Wars, it hasnt worked with rebels, Bobba Fett or Obi-Wan. Mando and Fett seems ok with a little bit of Luke thrown in but to make a series dedicated to the story of anakin, leia and Obi-Wan done in this way is poor. Its a story that has been told. Disney giving another white male character from the original films the Luke Skywalker treatment. Obi-Wan is portrayed as totally washed up, clueless and stupid, always scared and needs to be led around by a 10 year old girl. Now he is not even in control of a child. The writing is unbelievably poor with endless implausible outcomes. Just a few examples: Leia in the Benny Hill sketch out running grown men, Obi-Wan using Leia's real name in front of Storm troopers, Obi-Wan with the energy barrier, Darth Vader defeated by a few flames...… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is utter garbage. But I was expecting disappointment, since it's made by disney. Annoying Leia, stupid slow and badly choreographed chase scene on par with the ugly power rangers chase scene from BoBF, stupid kenobi who can't walk around a laser fence, coward kenobi running away from vader, stupid stormtroopers who can't see where a laser was shot from, at night (which is pretty evident), stupid stormtroopers and vader who can't go around some fire, bad location for the battle between vader and obi wan (really anti-climactic)...the list goes on and on… Expand

Completely non-sensical. Obi-wan is made to look like a complete idiot. Not to mention that this series now creates plot holes within A New Hope. I wish this series had never been created, did nothing but hurt the Star Wars name.

It's a pity that Disney is trying to buy a rating for this series. We were all looking forward to this series, but objectively it turned out badly. Obi-Wan is the sufferer, Vader is too early. The battle between them was so-so. A little girl,It's a pity that Disney is trying to buy a rating for this series. We were all looking forward to this series, but objectively it turned out badly. Contradicts canon in several occasions. Some of the scenes are so amateurish you would think it's done by kids as a school project.

So disappointed. So many parts of this series where you don't even have to be a fan to scratch your head. A 5 year old looking girl running away from a couple of grown aliens for like 10 minutes, Obi Wan being the weakest Jedi ever existed,So disappointed. Absolutely horrible show. Don't believe the fake reviews. Incredibly boring, huge plot holes, and the characters act unbelievably stupid. I can't believe they spent so much money and it still looks so cheaply done.

Continuity and logic issues but that is minor to me. Bigger: The tired trope of males being weak dumb losers and females being smarter and better. A few cool looking scenes don't save it. Riva is yet another Mary Sue character. Sad.

I'm so dissapointed. Another beloved character destroyed and made week by the woke lefties at Disney. After episode 3 I'm done with this. Disney Star Wars is garbage.

Really a let down of a series. The writing/pacing of the series are not good. Inconsistency in force powers continue. It's just a shame that Ewan's Obi-Wan is getting this treatment.
