This is made by people who do not understand Star Wars, its universe, its characters, its music, its visuals. Nothing in this TV Show is Star Wars.

There's no point spending forever going through everything that's horrible and stupefyingly ridiculous about this show, it can all be summed up like this: This show is excellent Disney entertainment for children from 3 to 5.

Where to start easily one of my favourite characters and actors has been misfired straight in a whale sized dissapointment of one of my most anticipated series ever.

The show has been curated for children in what I and another's describe as a nickelodeon show. Lots of the show several scenes now involves the cringest chase scenes of a small 7 year old girl out running fully grown men through a forest then followed by a city. I realised this show was for children when disney introduced another "adorable droid" which made me realise that disneys fore front mind was monetisation they can sell toys of the droid. It seems disneys made agenda is to squeeze dollars however and wherever possible and making a good tense, thrilling series an afterthought. They've even introduced non cannon characters also as a villian, reeva a sith inquisitor who happens to be black into the show. I have no problem with black actors and actresses as i hope we get a mace windu series and lando, big fan of Carl weather's also in mando but this acting is horrendous and she shouts much of her way through the series. Honestly the tone is much to light for a dark time where jedi are being hunted down and murdered on the spot without trial in summary execution much like the gestapo did with the Jews. Disney have really wronged the fans here massively and the obi wan character for what was a show much long in the pipeline. I feel like I can no longer deny it disney has political agenda here and clearly as woke as it comes.

I'm more than happy for disney to start doing series with female leads, people of diverse backgrounds in original story's or characters already known. But its a obi wan show make it about him and respect that original star wars fans are not idiots and the show should be accessible for them. The reviews say it all and I'm not the only one.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It is a shame what was done with the character. Watch the wise Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, general of the Clone Wars, member of the Jedi Council, master of the Chosen One and one of the mightiest Jedi to ever live reduced to an incompetent man who can't get anything done by himself, afraid of a wannabe Inquisitor and a few Stormtroopers, that needs guidance from a 10-year old, and worst of all, lost faith in the Force and in people (something a character like Obi-Wan would never, ever do) is downright painful. There is no justification to that "He spent years in the desert" is not good enough, by far. I don't know what the show writers have in mind, but it certainly isn't making good Star Wars and being respectful of the characters. Expand

This has been the yet another disappointment by Disney. But this is all we can expect from them at this point.

The writing of the show is terrible, so far in the first 3 episodes alone it breaks canon multiple times. Obi Wan has been emasculated to the surprise of no one.
And in typical Disney fashion the show is actually a bait and switch. Using a BELOVED character that the fans wanted to see for years, only to emasculate them and treat them like garbage only to promote their new characters like the character of Riva, which is a terribly written and acted character, that should have no place in the show and more importantly, should not know the things she knows.

But who can even be surprised by Disney at this point. The whole point of Riva is to generate clicks by SJW's on twitter (SJW's that don't even watch your products or pay for them Disney)

And make no mistake, Disney is trying to spin the narrative that the fans are outraged by gender and skin color, but the truth is that 99.9% of the fans have no issues with skin color or gender, they have issue with badly written and acted characters that are shoved in the shows only to tick boxes.

We loved Lando Calrissian, we loved Mace Windu and so many others like Moff Gideon, James Earl Jones is the voice of Darth Vader for crying out loud, the most important character in the franchise. Yet in recent interviews Disney and the actress of Riva - Moses Ingram tries to claim that she is the first person of color in Star Wars. That and the numerous breaking of the canon, paint the picture many of us know to be true for years, that Disney does not care for the IP, does not know the IP, the people they hire have not done their research regarding the characters and the universe they are portraying. Their only goal and purpose is to push their agendas using the corpse of Star Wars as a platform.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Where do I begin with this… I think Kenobi and the Book of Boba Fett are perfect examples of when a franchise becomes overly corporate and lacks any heart what so ever. Since episode 1 of Kenobi it was felt cheap, the writing has been very poor, the direction has been amateurish, the scenes feel blocky and lack logic. Characters that are meant to smart become incredibly dumb. Kenobi is completely deconstructed as a character and Disney nerf him into the ground. Kenobi’s whole job is to protect Luke yet he completely shuts himself off from the force and buried his lightsaber in the sands of tattooine. Kenobi frequently runs away from the fight. He is not the same character. He is a deconstruction of what used to be. Similarly to Luke Skywalker in the sequel trilogy, this character has been broken down and made an example of. The new inquisitor Reva is one of the most laughably terrible villains I’ve ever seen in Star Wars. No hate to the actress. I think she does what she’s told from the director and the writing doesn’t help. But the character of Reva exists to be amazing at everything and you will not understand one single motive of hers. The handling of Vader is something I have a problem with. I feel Disney just think they can throw Darth Vader out and the masses will drool. Not me. Vader is handled with little grace. The so called “rematch of the century” echoed by Kathleen Kennedy was a mediocre duel (if you can call it that) on a boring planet where Obi Wan runs away all the time and Vader let’s him go because of some fire…. I was never hot on the former master/apprentice meeting before a new hope and this is precisely the reason why I hate the decision. It makes zero sense now. I will say, Jimmy Smits and Joel Edgerton returning as Bail Organa and Uncle Owen are really amazing and they both do phenomenal jobs with their few scenes. I think the actors try their best with the **** sandwich they’ve been given. If you’re a prequel boy like me who grew up with the prequels and OT… skip Kenobi. Keep your memory of these characters in tact. Watch literally anything else. I recommend dune. Expand

I WOULD LOVE FOR ELON MUSK TO DO A BOT AUDIT ON ALL THESE STAR WARS REVIEWS. IVE BEEN REVIEWING TV AND MOVIES FOR 30 Yrs+ this....is ...low.... quality ..tv....and ....low.. quality.....sci-fi....and everyone knows it!

I canceled my Disney Subscription after this. Here are ten reasons why;

*Minus one star for horribly directed, acted scenes all involving Leia.

*Minus one star for just highlighting and putting down Obi Wans age which represents more than half the audience. *Minus one for wardrobes, I mean I liked the inquisitor scenes, but this is Disney I would expect a bit more. Very laughable in a bad way.

*Minus one star for CGI. Reminded me of low quality Sci-Fi channel TV and they have way less funding.

*Minus one star for music. Just wasn't unique and didn't stand out. They should have taken a bigger risk here with music. Music is a huge part of Star Wars, again I feel like no effort was made. It sounded too similar to Mandalorian and this is a completely different thing; story, planets, the force, lightsaber emphasis. Music should take its own path here.

*Minus one star because the script was rushed and jumped around horribly. This is so bad I want to take off two stars. THE LAST THING MODERN DAY BINGE TV SHOULD HAVE IS A RUSHED SCRIPT. ITS TV YOU HAVE SO MUCH TIME.. *Minus one for horrible batman-esk action scenes. Not necessary. This is laughable.

*Minus one for using "spice". This Dune rip off a doesn't even transcend multiverse because they treat it like it has more ...well it's just idiotic. Leave the Dune script alone and leave stupid drugs out of Kenobi. They were never in the prequels etc. Just lame.

Disney does not stop. Its mission is clear. They want to emmasculate all male heroes and transform the Star Wars universe in some sort of a "modern" society that mirrors XXI century USA mores and values... And because of it, we have yet another horrid, horrific , vomit-inducing TV show "about" Star Wars.
The plot, script and actors (young princess Leia is cringeworthy..) are awful. Ewan is lost in it and Obi-Wan is a caricature of the character that once was played by Sir Alec Guiness.

Disney trips over itself once again in this Obi Wan fan-fiction-esque try.

This deserves a low star rating. Most of the actors are forgettable. It's like watching Surf Ninjas or the American version of Power Rangers but with tons of money sunk into production costs. The overacting is cringy, the situations are unbelievable, and the writers don't seem to understand human characteristics or societal nature, instead substituting a strictly one dimensional superficiality in its viewpoint of what a story arc should be. I find it sad that Disney wasted our time with a recap only to showcase how ridiculously drastic they can make characters change in order to be a slave to that previously mentioned one dimensional story arc.

Maybe they should have spent more time in the lab, with a pen and a pad, taking notes on the multitude of references they had in the form of Star Wars books.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+ leaves a never-ending feeling of cringe, yet somehow manages to keep one's interest in learning more about the Star Wars lore.

Upon first glance, the whole series appears tragically horrible and can only be viewed as a cheap parody. There are some exceptionally bad scenes, such as when two green monsters chase a girl in the second episode – it's embarrassing and stupid.

The portrayal of the inquisitors, specifically the white man with implants and the black woman, seems like something only a very young and impressionable mind or a diseased one could produce. It's difficult to imagine these roles being done worse or more stupidly. This bottom line signifies the bad state of the whole industry.

One can't help but ask themselves and the creators of this series, "How is it possible to do something like this with the Star Wars universe? Why does it even exist?" These questions repeat themselves, episode after episode, moment after moment on the screen.

Why is the end product of the film production company so bad? What caused them to create such a strange, very, very, very stupid, and cheap-looking movie? Why did they make it?

Did they do it just for money? Can't they find any other ways to feed their families? Or are they all sick with mental disorders and other mental health issues that prevent them from being objective and productive at work?

Who allowed these actors to play these roles? How did that happen? Who was reviewing the shooting? How come these main plane roles are so stupid and unprofessional?

The girl playing the dark inquisitor is overplaying her role with brutality in her voice, which is super cringe. The white hypnotizer, who looks like a Sith, is wack when trying to play the mesmerizer, like a stupid scammer similar to the one pretending to be a Jedi in the second episode.

The whole crew and all actors, as a whole, seem like that scammer. That is their collective image. If you could make a persona out of the whole production process and final result analysis, that would be it.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+ is not a movie about the Jedi, and it cannot be considered a real Star Wars universe movie. It's a pure lore and fanfic product, not a genuine continuation or extension of the original Star Wars. It's merely made to play with the lore, use the atmosphere and some parts of the initial story as the environment to be in.

However, one can't help but question, who are these newcomers? Do they deserve to play with such a great universe? Perhaps only at Comic-Con but not in real life.

Why was this series even made? It seems like it was only created to make some money without any passion or care for the Star Wars franchise. The actors are only concerned about their salary and their own careers, with no real interest in the story. It's disappointing that no one seems to care about Star Wars anymore.

Although the series has some interesting details, characters, and events from the Star Wars universe, it ultimately feels more cringe than genuinely interesting. Unfortunately, this seems to be a trend in recent Hollywood, Marvel, Netflix, and Disney Plus series. The global culture influenced by American movies is lowering the standard for quality entertainment.

The 3D episode with the yellow door opening robot leaves an ambiguous impression, much like the series as a whole. The robot is well-designed, but lacks any real personality. The creators were too lazy to invest time into developing its character, which is disappointing compared to iconic robots like C3PO or R2D2 from the original movies.

The portrayal of Darth Vader in the third episode is more comical than terrifying, as if they were trying to create a meme rather than a serious movie. It's a missed opportunity to create something genuinely science fiction and futuristic in the Star Wars universe.

The main hero, Obi-Wan, is a disappointment. He lacks the wisdom and maturity that you would expect from someone with the name Obi-Wan Kenobi. Instead, he seems like an always-frightened man with a lot of doubts, which is not what viewers want to see. It's possible that the actor himself was unsure of his role and the whole project, which comes across in his performance.

The director and background scene makers may have felt proud of their work, but the overall result feels rough, fast, and brutal. It's as if they were more concerned with their own egos than creating a quality production.

In conclusion, this series feels like a missed opportunity to create something truly great in the Star Wars universe. Despite some interesting elements, it ultimately falls short of expectations.

All they have to doI don't know what it is, modern feminists or woke equity politics, but how do you do such a bad job with something so easy. The source material has already established a massive fan base, and the story is already written. All they have to do is transcribe it from book to screen, and you'd have the best show of the decade. It's so simple. You have to be a extremely bad writer/director/producer to make something so great so bad. It's also extremely unethical to take someone's life's work and change the source material with such disrespect. Then, just to make everything so much worse, you add on top of that fan baiting. Fan Baiting is done on purpose to not only stir up controversy for publicity but also serves as a barrier to real criticism and ensures that the show will succeed because if anyone has a different opinion, they will just be labeled as a "racist/sexist/transphobe/etc." and their opinion is ignored. It's a method to make everyone think you're virtuous when really you're just a horrible person spreading hate with anyone who has a different opinion than your own. You act like you're fighting fascism by spreading and using fascism. It's hypocrisy in action. Expand

Its what you'd expect from a Disney Star Wars show.

The writing is so bland and feels like its written to robotically serve scenes, as if they were in an office like "Hey we need these characters to have some conflict with each other" but then add the most basic surface level reasoning for having said conflict.

The action scenes are entirely nonsensical and terribly shot, it will have you laughing at how bad it is. Like every other scene, it feels like it was shot in a bluescreen with wires. There was a parkour scene that was so weirdly slow and sluggish and was painfully obvious that wires were used.

Vader was cool because hes not very hard to mess up, but even then the writing brings him down a lot. This show just retcons a bunch of things that are said in episode 4 which just throws continuity out the window

This show, like every other star wars show has absolutely no reason to exist and Obi Wan would be much better off without it.

Firstly the acting isnt great, storyline pathetic, costumes etc not worthy of the star wars franchise, The young Leia is supposed to be 10 but looks about 6 and the chasing scenes are just ridiculous (hence the power rangers example as well as the costumes). This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This represent's Disney's penultimate failure to understand the Star Wars universe, and furthermore exaggerates that when die-hard fans of the series aren't ultimately in charge of decision making, and give way to studio agenda, franchises will continue to be destroyed by the great unwashed march of corporate greed. This failure is ultimately summarized in the mishandling of the final face off between Vader and Ben. The misguided need for fan service and spectacle undermines the true, and logical narrative. Obi-wan, post the event's of Phantom Menace, as a student of Qui-Gon realised the ineffectiveness of his master's form due to his demise. This casts his character as adaptive and gains him the perogative of furthering himself, and his actions, to prevent further tragedies... After all, he is considered the "Perfect Jedi" by many. It strikes me as not only pathetic, but utterly negligent, why the writers of this series chose to provide him an opportunity to redeem his previous mistake (leaving Vader alive) whilst also depriving him of the only reasonable explanation for doing so (perhaps feeling Anakin is redeemable) as he accepts that Anakin is dead and only Vader now exists. As to why he allowed Vader to live is a metaphor for the failure of this series, they don't seek to create a coherent and logical storyline, they only wish to shoehorn in characters between main story lines for monetary gain. It goes without saying, if Obi-Wan truley was the adaptive "perfect Jedi" set up by the sequels, he would have no choice, nay, no issue with striking down Vader to destruction if he had the chance. He did have the chance in the series, and thus this exemplifies the absolute detriment this series has on the overall world, and subsequent storylines. Reva was also an exceptionally shallow character and the series gave the impression it should have been named "Reva: and Obi-Wan story" more than anything else. Terrible. 2/5. I would award it 1/5, but Ewans is such a treasure he ad's a point. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I wanted to like this show, but I can't. It is glorified fan fiction. There is no respect for canon, or continuity. No respect for the characters, and events. The writer is just doing what ever he wants, and whatever he thinks is "Cool" even if it makes no sense. For instance, **SPOILERS BELOW**

>Obi-wan not knowing Vader is alive? Vader is famous, he has been active for 10 years as the enforcer for the emperor. Obi-wan knows Vader is Anakin, yet was shocked at finding this out. >Reva knows Anakin is Vader, even though this is a guarded secret, and she would be executed for this.
>The villains are where ever they need to be, even if that means that space and distance no longer works.
>Obi-wan can't really use the force, or fight with a lightsaber. The excuse is that he is sad and rusty, but given that his life's purpose is to protect and train Luke, and commune with Qui-gon, he would stay in fighting condition. He didn't even use a lightsaber stance in his first fight with Vader. I recognize the stances. Vader entered Makashi, And obi-wan didn't even enter Soresu.
>Episode 4, Leia is captured (cause teleporting Reva) and taken to secret Inquisitorious base, but somehow the good guys know where the base is, and just waltz in? The space is a secret from even the majority of the Empire. >Lots of contrived plot points, like Reva going to Kill Leia because she is convinced Leia (who Reva had kidnapped because reasons she shouldn't know) knows about the jedi smuggling paths? But at the same time puts a tracker in Leia's droid because is knows she is going to be rescued? I'm sorry?
>The vader and Obi-wan fight was just stupid. Vader can't walk through fire, or put it out, or walk around it? He can't use the force to pull an unconscious obi-wan? They shouldn't even be meeting or fighting.
>Oh, yeah. They kill the Grand inquisitor. The character that is still alive in Rebels 4-5 years later. He is also ridiculously incompetent, and used a prop to hold up Reva. I am waiting for the end credit scene on episode 6 where he isn't dead, cause they have to retcon it. I could go on... This story is a poorly made shirt. I pull on a loose thread and everything starts to unravel. It is fanfiction. High budget what if story. And I've read better writer stories on Wattpad.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Disney you ruined everything again. You spoil everything by touching the last 10 years - it's just a limitation. I've been waiting for Obi-Wan Kenobi for more moments of rumors about a serial series, hoping for an interesting plot, a story about a fan favorite character in the Star Wars universe.
What did Star Wars fans get in the end:
1. Agenda. This is perhaps the biggest reason why Disney is ruining all the franchises (Pirates of the Caribbean, Disney).
In Obi-Wan Kenobi, this manifested itself in the appointment of a woman to the post of showrunner of the series, who did not make a single big-budget film in her entire life, but only filmed serials for several episodes. Before joining the Disney series, she had no idea what Star Wars was, this is for sure a complete copy of Ryan Johnson, and she also likes to shove herself in the form of all sorts of cameos in her series. Most of the other executive producers are also women, who got into the world of Star Wars only after Disney bought LucasArts, and had nothing to do with fantastic universes.
Our esteemed screenwriter is of Iranian descent and is also on the agenda to discriminate against white men in the film and TV industry. A person who also has no merit, experience in fantasy films or big budget films (which is important), writes the script for our series. From here we have stupid dialogues that litter screen time, meaningless, inexplicable actions (Obi Wan running from Darth Vader - Tom and Jerry), interrogating a little girl with an addiction, and so on.
2. Plot holes. The incoherent plot of the film, which innapropriate into any star wars film (as well as the new mediocre horror trilogy with Rey and Kylo-ren, which created an unrealistic amount of discrepancies, here you can also add the Boba Fett series, in which Boba Fett from professional mercenary turned into a kind grandfather with a stick).
3. New characters and new actors - Disney loves it. Introduce a ton of new characters (mostly black by origin). An example is our villainess in the film, whose name no one remembers, and rightly so. She has no motivation, we do not know who she is, absolutely nothing is known about her, she falls like snow in July, no one was waiting for her, and no one needs her. If she is several ranks lower than the grand inquisitor, how does she manage to kill him, despite the fact that he, logically, should be very strong (Rebels). What kind of incomprehensible acting game, better black actresses have not been found?

That's not all, but I don't want to continue further, because the list will be too long, talking about the shortcomings of this series. This is not an Obi-Wan series, this is an Obi-Wan fanfiction and, unfortunately, with actors from the second golden trilogy.

Star Wars fans, be patient and may the strength be with us to endure the sordid rape of our beloved Star Wars universe.

Absolutely terrible writing...just because the show has Ewan McGregor does not make it good. Completely trashes beloved characters and plot lines with poor writing and characters.

The graphics and visual side are quite OK.
The plot, however, is full of irritating issues. So many errors, so many facts contradicting even official Disney lore...

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Completely undermines everything Lucas wrote for Star Wars by making Luke "not important", characters are written soo poorly that a rage filled dark side user doesn't have sith eyes or criminals couldn't even duck under a branch to kidnap Leia... Heck, the wise master of the jedi order panics like a nervious wreck and surrenders to less enemies than he just killed. "Quick Leia, lets disable this laser gate we could walk around just so we can walk through it"
What the hell is this writing? Seems more like they just make shows just to have female characters undermine legacy ones in their own shows

And worst of all as per Hollywood, the corp has decided to slander fans as bigots for a handful of hate comments to create a smokescreen to protect the IP from criticism for its poor writing to say the fandom has a racism problem, akin to Ghostbusters 2016 saying fans are sexist (despite only 0.2% of comments actually being hateful)

Typical media trying to spin genuine criticism as review bombing whilst ignoring the thousands of one sentance 10/10 rating in the space of 24 hours... We all know Disney is just doing damage control right now to protect their IP

The 'star' of the show - who isn't even Obi-Wan Kenobi, despite the show's miss-name even falsely claimed that she was the first person of color in Star Wars. Apparently people like Darth Vader, Lando Calrisian, and Finn are now white actors? The show has done nothing but show it's true colors from day one - that they mean to bludgeon a trash-tier 'inquisitor' wannabie into some kind of positive role. I'd expect this tripe from the CW, not Lucasfilm/Disney. Expand

Evil cannot create anything new, they can only corrupt and ruin what good forces have invented or made.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… There was once a wise Jedi Knight named Obi-Wan Kenobi, who disappeared into the sands of time on the planet of Tatooine. The protagonist in this show is not that character, despite sharing the same name. This imposter lacks the cunning cleverness of his predecessor and, in that place, is complete hollowness, which has led to some of the most dumbfounding things I’ve seen any character commit in the Star Wars universe.
I mean this is Obi-Wan Kenobi… Everything you loved about the character has been sadly stripped away. He’s not even a shadow of his former self; he’s been remoulded to the point of becoming practically unrecognisable — if not for Ewan McGregor returning, you would not believe it was the same person as the one you saw in the prequel trilogy. Sure, there’s an excuse based on what the character has gone through over the years — he’s on a downer, but this is more like witnessing a bone-shattering nosedive into concrete; there’s no joy in such a spectacle. Three episodes in from the promising pilot, and I haven’t seen an ounce of character development.
Characters are only as brilliant as their writers, so I’m confidently certain Mensa won’t be sending the writers for this show invitations for their “smart” decisions anytime soon.

As for the show itself, I’m sorry to admit, most of all to myself as a massive Star Wars worshipper, that it is a complete and utter letdown. The storyline is uninspired, the actions scenes are underwhelming, the writing is baffling, the direction is unspectacular, the characters are all one-note, and that scene involving Obi-Wan and Vader reuniting produced the most generic dialogue imaginable, words you can hear in a thousand other movies and shows. That was shameful. I could go on and into more detail about the negatives, but what’s the point of it for a pointless show? Positives? Yeah, there is. James Earl Jones still sounds tremendous and menacing as Vader. It’s just too bad the dialogue he’s reading is as bland as a dead Jawa.

Canceled my subscription after the third episode, I was looking forward to this series as Obi-Wan is one of the most powerful Jedi and to see what Kathleen Kennedy is doing to our heroes is a disgrace, This is not star wars its star woke
