This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Great show! The slow roll of the first two episodes introduced us to a beaten and lost man. The redemption is coming. Clearly the “true” fans are being foiled by a small collection of individuals that are truly toxic to all of movie fandom. Don’t listen to those reviews. They’re clearly a mockery for all fans…. The way she highlights certain aspects of his PTSD and/or depression without making it the main focus of the show amazes me. There is enough action and plot throughout the series to keep you excited without making it an empty blockbuster. She manages to bring nuance to the table. Ewan being an executive producer on the show and bringing Hayden back were also a good decisions. Adding new characters like Moses Ingram also enhances the story. Expand

Update Anyone else notice that all the new reviews (that recently popped up after episode 3) have no user history? It looks like the same thing is happening on RT

The Force is weak with this one .... The acting of almost everyone else (except for EM and JE) just feels shallow. Including all the villains. The Special effects (and choreography) aren't that special - it feels a little better than what you might see on Doctor Who. I'm honestly thinking of giving up my Disney subscription. I was hoping that the Book of Bobba was just an aberration. Since this is based on the first three episodes, I'll revise if needed. (Update - I actually felt like laughing watching the big Vader / Obiwan encounter - it was that underwhelming - Obiwan ran just about as clumsily as Leia, Vader was presented in a weird way - weak, inconsistent with how he's been portrayed in the past). Why can't they get directors that are passionately committed to the material. Disney's goal in life is to troll the fans who've been with the franchise the longest.

Oh and don't worry if you haven't seen any of star wars as these writers aren't concerned with continuity.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. You will be disappointed. I was hyped for this but it's absolute garbage. There's clearly a downward trend since Mando S2.
Its cheap, crap, its a waste of time, it could just have not existed. It doesnt add anything. This filling in the gaps only worked with Clone Wars, it hasnt worked with rebels, Bobba Fett or Obi-Wan. Mando and Fett seems ok with a little bit of Luke thrown in but to make a series dedicated to the story of anakin, leia and Obi-Wan done in this way is poor. Its a story that has been told. Just leave it alone, its spoiling it now. Stay away from the Skywalker saga disney. Go in a new direction.

I was going to give this series a 1, but seeing how it’s being review bombed with the 10s, it just doesn’t deserve anything. Will Disney ever learn that we don’t want their agenda being pushed on us in Star Wars? You were the chosen ones,I was going to give this series a 1, but seeing how it’s being review bombed with the 10s, it just doesn’t deserve anything. Will Disney ever learn that we don’t want their agenda being pushed on us in Star Wars? You were the chosen ones, supposed to continue George Lucas’ legacy. Instead you’re destroying it from inside out. It’s The Last Jedi all over again. Kenobi is weak because Disney cannot allow a strong male character. Instead, we get a little girl and an annoying female inquisitor as the main characters of the show. Even if you look past the fact that this series breaks canon, it’s just so poorly constructed, full of convenience, and cringy moments you cannot explain. Then there’s what’s happening outside of the series, which is just a typical corporate retaliation against the fans, who dare to not like the show. Make a good show. Or even better, leave Star Wars alone. If you want a good Obi-Wan story covering some of the period in between episodes 3 and 4, read Kenobi by John Jackson Miller. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. SPOILER WARNING FOR EPISODE 3.

Episode 1-2 were okay, slow build and Reva was mediocre.
But I don’t think I can put into words how outstanding episode 3 is. Spoiler warning again, my favorite things are listed below.

Kenobi sees Anakin in his Jedi knight robes all PTSD’d out.
Kenobi opens up to leia about his past, he has a brother and remembers his family.
Reva is finally good in this episode, menacing and calculated. Backed by Vader.
Vader voiced by James Earl Jones, absolute legend. Played by Hayden Christensen, absolute legend.
Scene where kenobi takes out the stormtrooper outpost John Wick style.
Stormtrooper gets cut in half.
Quinlin Vos confirmed alive in canon.
Vader’s appearance, OMG. Literally had me all types of anxious, heart pounding. Loved that. Top tier star wars content.
Vader snapping necks.
Vader’s Michael Myers esque combat, slow and menacing. Just walks. Hunting kenobi rather than fighting him.
Kenobi’s lightsaber POV during the fight/chase, swinging it around in the dark aimlessly. Horror movie feel.
Vader dragging kenobi through the flames like a marshmallow that fell of the stick at a bonfire.

I don’t even really care what happens next, this episode alone earns the show the highest rating for me.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I found the first three episodes quite enjoyable. Getting to know the beloved and new characters along with understanding their mindsets in a time of danger and upheaval. Leia's is an interesting take on a ten-year-old girl in a stressful and traumatizing series of events. Her ability to anticipate the needed stories to get them a ride in the middle of nowhere. Was the stuff of a much more mature person. I found the writing of her dialogue very much in line with that of my nieces and nephews when they were that age. I did find the inquisitors slightly stiff in their portrayal of Sith acolytes. And the arrival of Lord Vader was just wonderful. I really liked how just the thought of Anikin being alive really weighed upon Obi-Wan. Shows the depth of the love he had for him. "The Jedi Code, against it, it is." "Forego all attachment."
&
The cruelty of Vader in his unyielding efforts to use the pain and suffering of innocents to flush out the hated Jedi. Yes, I Loved it.

The series explores how the former Jedi master copes with the aftermath of losing his padawan and best friend. Story is generally very well written and the characters we see are joyful surprises. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am rating it this low not due to the visuals, which are amazing, or the acting, which has been superb, but due to the lack of consistency with itself and the rest of the star wars universe. "When I last left you I was but a learner, now I am the master". This line was acted as if it didn't exist, which is not how I was hoping this series would go at all.
I've come to expect it from disney, but I was hoping this would be different. It had so much potential.

Great to have more SW, and great to have a series that provides more bridging between canon installments.

Continuity and logic issues but that is minor to me. Bigger: The tired trope of males being weak dumb losers and females being smarter and better. A few cool looking scenes don't save it. Riva is yet another Mary Sue character. Sad.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Beautifully created with great actors and actresses. Directors are doing a phenomenal job and I’m glad to see the show going in the right direction! They truly capture the emotion that Ben has gone through since his last encounter with anakin. A man destroyed by the betrayal of his student/brother. Forced to live in exile to protect the child from his two greatest friends. His struggles with the force and his ability to wield his lightsaber prove the amount of regression he’s undergone to detach from his previous personality and create the persona of Ben. Expand

Granted they are operating with limited options from a plot perspective, however I would have liked to see this focus more on the evolution of Obi Wan from episode 3 super Jedi to episode 4.. but instead they're just destroying a beloved character for the sake of an agenda and some pretty obvious tropes. It's like a roller coaster but the ups are short and fleeting, while the downs are drops that leave you screaming. If you remove the nostalgia factor from the show, it's very poorly written, directed, and acted (with the exception of Ewan, who does a very good job with what little he's given to work with).

I absolutely love what they’ve put out so far. Wasn’t the biggest fan of episodes 1, 2 & 3 but I’m excited for the actors who reprised their roles. Love the new cast too, especially Moses Ingram

The first point was that Obi Wan was reduced to a lowlife Blaster Jockey. Huh Wonder why? He’s gone 10 years without using the force, of course he’s not going to be the same Jedi he was! Was Old Ben the same as Obi-wan in the original trilogy? No, he wasn’t.

2. The second point made was The Inquisitors are obviously not “Sith”. Again, Duh. Sith operate under the rule of 2. If you’ve watched the prequels you know this. One master, One apprentice. In this series the two are Darth Vader and Darth Sidious. The Inquisitors aren’t actually Sith. 3. The Third point was Leia wasn’t like adult Leia. Um, yeah cuz she’s young Leia. She grows up between this series and the original trilogy. And you see bits and pieces of Adult Leia in how she absolutely roasts her cousin or in how she interacts with Obi Wan. Even if she does make some Bull-headed decisions, so does Adult Leia. Grow up and stop attacking a child. This is exactly what happened with Jake Lloyd and it needs to stop. 4. The final point was that The guy in the black suit obviously isn’t Vader. How so? Because he didn’t have an epic quick paced battle with all of his force abilities on display? Because he choked a few people and then tapped Lightsabers a few times? Hate to break it to you, but choking a few people and tapping lightsabers was all the original Vader did too. However, it’s still only rhe third episode calm down.

My point is that it’s actually a great show for those of us wjo actually have taste and enjoy Star Wars. All the fake fans who review bombed the show ith bad reviews have shown they are either racist or morons who don’t understand Star Wars at all. I’m sorry that you believe that the series didn’t meet your expectations. It definitely did what it was supposed to do and expanded the world of Star Wars. It answered one of my deepest questions about Star wars, which was why Leia was so sure that Obi-wan would help her in A New Hope. I know that I’ll enjoy the rest of the series and I hope you learn to as well.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Personally I'm enjoying the series midway through it really shows a broken obi-wan down on his luck,
I don't like the character of Reeva I don't find her threatening she comes off more as a whiney child no did respect to the actress I'm sure she tried her best with the writing she was given.

Love McGregor's return, we've all thought about it for the last ~15 years. Love his powerful beard. Normally when it comes to casting children I get worried, but young Leia is perfect and Fisher would be so proud.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What a terrible show this is man. Kenobi being somewhat depressed at the state of the galaxy is fine with me but to forget all of his training and won't do anything to help others is really stupid. By the way, Kenobi is an idiot in this show. Has his lightsaber for everyone to view, never had his hood over his head (in fact in front of Storm Troopers), says Leia name out loud in front of storm troopers, is lead around by a 10 year old Leia, has no idea how to be a Jedi, could have gone around the barrier if he was smart, and looks like he doesn't know what is going on. Everyone in the galaxy is after you, idiot try to freaking hide by wearing anything but Jedi robes dummy. Just awful!!! Reva knows information that should never EVER been know by Vader's "right hand man." Knowing that Vader was once Anakin Skywalker is insulting for George Lucas and everyone in the galaxy. Reva knowing who Leia is and trying to get Kenobi without any context is insulting. Reva is a one note character. I am mad all the time. No depth, no emotion, no real direction, or clear motivation. Reva is an awful character (coming from a black man too). Bail Organa being stupid enough to let his daughter get capture and does not hire a bounty hunter or send his garrison to find her. Luke is Kenobi's responsibility and Leia is his. Grow up and find her with your millions of credits. Vader is stupid too. Won't go through a fire to attack Kenobi. Really Vader!?! You can jump over it with the force man.

Kenobi running away scared, not fighting and this was supposed to be the fight of the century Kathleen Kennedy!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?! Please for God's sake resign. Leia outruns grown people that slow down every time they are close to her. WHAT A JOKE!!! And if you couldn't tell I HATE THIS FREAKING SHOW!!!!!!! What a stain on George Lucas's original character. Who is writing this crap at LucasFilm. Like you guys are not good and it is reflective in your writing. Disney Star Wars is a joke and an embarrassment to all that came before it. I just unsubscribed from Disney+ I refuse to let my eyes see such lazy, horrid story telling and writing. Ugh!! I am going to have a brain aneurysm from the stupidity I subjected my mind to. Man every time I watch a Disney+ Star Wars show I get dumber. So, I have to unsubscribe to save my sanity.

Saying the new characters in this show are bad and do not fit in the universe is not racist. Disney just makes terrible characters. Some of the best characters in star wars were Lando and Mace. Unfortunately reiva will go down as one of the worst.
