Crimson Desert is one of the most rewarding open-world games I’ve played in years, but it absolutely makes you work for that payoff. Its opening hours are rough, the story never fully comes together, and the UI, inventory management, and control scheme can be frustratingly clunky. Still, once the world opens up, the game becomes something special. Exploration feels meaningful, not like filler, and the best rewards often come from curiosity, detours, and preparation rather than simply following the main quest. Combat is flashy, deep, and incredibly satisfying against groups of enemies, even if some boss fights lean too hard into frustration. This is basically Pearl Abyss making a single-player Black Desert: mechanically rich, often messy, and far more interested in systems, movement, and discovery than in telling a compelling story. If you value exploration over narrative and can push through a bumpy start, Crimson Desert is an easy recommendation.

Tales of Xillia is something of a classic, a game that for a long time wasn’t available on modern systems. To truly play it, you either needed access to a fairly old console or had to rely on less official methods. A remaster is an excellent solution for players who don’t want to purchase outdated hardware just to enjoy a single game. This remaster is done quite well, and even though some aspects of the game haven’t aged particularly gracefully, it’s still well worth the time for many players today.

Chaotic, fast, and furious are three words that perfectly describe Kirby Air Riders. What we have here is a racing game that’s anything but standard—one that breaks many of the conventions we’ve come to know and love about this long-standing genre. Fortunately, for the vast majority of the time, this game’s differences compared to its competitors in the genre manage to spark genuine interest and plenty of enjoyment. While the game demands a significant investment of time and patience, it rewards players with a uniquely immersive experience and a rare opportunity to walk the path of legendary sword heroes from ancient China. Elden Ring: Nightreign is a fascinating, albeit uneven, experiment. While its fast-paced, pure gameplay moments are some of FromSoftware's best, these highs are often undercut by puzzling decisions, including an overly random progression system and the baffling omission of multiplayer. Life is Strange: Double Exposure has a fine thrilling story that made me sit at the edge of my sit at times, however, with some meaningless choices at times and a poorly optimized PC version, I highly recommend it for the story, but I hope Deck Nine fix the game quickly.

For those of you who have not experienced the game and are looking for the best way to play, there is no doubt that Horizon: Zero Dawn Remastered is your answer. Even if the last time you played was 7 years ago on the PS4 version, I would tell you that this is an upgrade that is worth your time and money. This is a facelift that does a favor to the original game and improves its visibility in every way, just don't expect changes in gameplay or additional content.

Lego Horizon Adventures is pure fun, heartwarming and light, but still gives room to some challenge for those who seek it. The voice acting is absolutely amazing and feels different from the origin, even with the original voice actors. The story is spiced with tons of humour, which made me actually LOL a few times. But its still a bit repetitive, and suits better for short-sessions after a long day. The Co-Op mode was a bit of a bummer since whoever pays Aloy will always be the "leader" and make other players teleport to their place instead of having an immersive gameplay for both players, even while being mid-fight.

I don't think Metaphor Refantazio is only the best game Atlus ever made, but it is definitely my game of the year at this point. It brings a lot of improvements to their JRPG formula which begs the question, how will they out do themselves in Persona 6?

After a shaky few years for the beloved brand, I am happy to say that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 returns this series to a fairly high place in the list of the best FPS games in the industry - the campaign is excellent, the multiplayer is full of action, and even that all the good things are wrapped up in COD HQ that makes the experience very difficult. At the end, almost everything that Black Ops 6 tries to do it does great, and whether you are new to the series or not, it is one of the best games it has ever known.

Metal Slug Tactics knows exactly what its mission is and executes it perfectly. The emphasis on being an arcade game from the 80s makes it too short and feels like it doesn't fulfill all the potential it has - but it's a small price to pay for the coin you put into the machine to enter this time tunnel.

Although it does not fulfill its potential to the end - but it is fun in an exaggerated way that will make you pick up the controller and in a moment be... two hours later.

Some might say that this is "another Mario Party game" but for me this is one of the best games I've played in recent years. The excellent gaming experience that Super Mario Party Jamboree provides is simply amazing, and if you like this style of games even a little, you are in for a simply wonderful experience.

Almost everything I would like to get from a remake is indeed present here, and even more: much better graphics, a very important fixes of the camera movement, a new soundtrack, a facelift for all the menus and even new scenes. The problem is, if you've already played the original game, the remake isn't worth your money, unless your memory is completely wiped and then the lack of replayability value isn't that critical. But if you haven't played the original - it's an excellent, exciting and scary game for fans of the horror genre and choice-based games. I want to believe that the developers are working on fixing things like the crashes and bugs of all kinds, because you can clearly see that a lot of love was put into this remake and there is no reason why they won't continue to improve it.

Like the brand or not, it's hard to argue with the fact that DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Zero is nothing less than a love letter to anyone who likes or thinks they are a Dragon Ball fan, even if in some parts the execution may feel a little cheap and even frustrating.

Silent Hill 2 was shaping up to be a disappointment and somehow turned to be one of the best remakes I've ever played, this game is definitely here for fans of the original but most of all for new players to experience the iconic story of James Sunderland in search of his late wife.

Metal: Hellsinger VR is a fairly well ported game of the fun rhythm shooter game from 2 years ago, with some mechanical issues aside, if you haven't experienced the original release and are into VR gaming, I highly recommend you give this one a chance.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom took quite a gamble when it decided to abandon large parts of the winning formula of the Zelda games we know, but the result is a creative, fun and very special game that somehow manages to be one of the best games of the beloved series. With that being said, a slight performance drops and discomfort in regards to controlling the echoes can be a bit annoying, so it's not as perfect a game as I hoped it would be.

If we put aside for a moment the fact that this is a rather short experience, what we have here is a stunning indie game that does what it wants to do very well which makes the overall experience you will get from it a successful one, and personally I think it is one of the sweetest surprises of 2024.
