Disturbing yet adorable, full of violence but at the same time tender, Fran Bow is an adventure with a compelling and sad story that we utterly recommend. The final part of the game might seem confusing and chaotic, but it's still a great moment that will hit you right in the guts.

Inheritance reuses some of the gimmicks already adopted by Layers of Fear. The sections from the past are weak because of some questionable choices in the level designing. The plot is shallow and does not explore in sufficient detail the protagonist's character and life.

The constant suffering of our lives, the idea that there is something far worse than death itself, the prospects of a miserable life of pain and useful only for purposes not ours: Scorn is a modern decadent work that uses horror to higher purposes, to tell with silence what we are destined to be from our birth and what we will never be able to understand, while we enjoy our petty illusions that crumble in the face of the merciless reality that is ready to invest in any instant.

Road to the Olympics is an expansion that tries to make a different cut compared to the original game: more linear, more simulative and more challenging. Conditions that probably will not be particularly interesting for historical players of the title that can still face new mountains and new challenges in total autonomy and carefree. For those who was waiting for a more structured experience and perhaps tied to something more concrete like the Olympics, with this expansion that comes also packaged in a bundle with the base game, it is definitely a good reason to get on board the multi-sports title Ubisoft to explore the Alps and Alaska once in South Korea.

Code Vein 2 is the classic example of a sequel that refuses to settle. It doesn’t take shortcuts, nor does it simply refine what already worked; instead, it deliberately tries to expand its scope, even at the risk of overreaching. This choice inevitably creates imbalances, and the game makes no effort to hide them: ambition often exceeds the ability to control it, layering sometimes turns into redundancy, and some solutions struggle to take a fully realized form.

A game with a dual nature, one simplistic and a bit too linear, the other way more faithful to the Thiefs of old than we believed this reboot could be. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind is a charming nostalgic beat-‘em-up that successfully captures the essence of the original show. While it doesn’t quite reach the heights of TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge or Streets of Rage 4—currently the benchmarks in the classic side-scrolling beat-’em-up genre—it offers a good variety of levels and a simple yet enjoyable gameplay experience. The diverse range of enemies adds to the fun, especially when playing with friends. However, the lack of move variety between the different characters and certain less polished sections—like the shooter-style stages—bring down the overall quality somewhat. That said, anyone looking for a solid beat-’em-up to enjoy with friends, particularly fans of the series, will likely have a great time. It’s a delightful throwback that might just transport you back to afternoons spent shouting “Go Go Power Rangers!” at the TV, much to the bemusement of your parents.

While the first title hasn’t aged particularly well and is fairly forgettable by modern standards, the second and third entries still stand out as solid examples of collectathon platformers. They're a perfect time capsule of the '90s, with well-designed levels and a charismatic lead—though the American voiceover can be grating, so we recommend switching to the PAL dub if that option is available. Codename Steam is a great debut for a franchise with a lot of potential, that is worthy of sitting next to the best in the genre, such as Fire Emblem and Advance Wars. The campaign is meaty, the gameplay works well and the cheesy overall tone is perfect for the comic book/Saturday morning cartoon vibe.
