Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is a fun experience that shines when played alone but also with a few friends. Bear in mind that cooperation is key and you might need some time before you get accustomed to the problematic controls.

Nevertheless, the game can be enjoyable for someone who has a passing interest in the exploration of space and in management, but it requires more tutorials, better information delivery, and more depth in order to appeal to a wider audience.

The Crew is a decent racing game that's weighed down by its constantly online mechanics. The missions and challenges are nice, but if you don't have friends, you'll be hard pressed to find them in the game.

Game of Thrones Episode 1 acts more or less as a prologue by setting the stage for the many events that will happen in the next five chapters. It delivers a decent experience in terms of dialog but falls short when it comes to action sequences or impactful choices. The visuals in particular weigh it down, so let's hope some improvement can be made with the next few episodes.

Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions is a great new entry in the series. It offers plenty of things for all players, as the Adventure mode draws in new fans, the Classic mode appeals to veterans, and the leaderboards manage to fuel their competitive natures.

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon is a good turn-based strategy experience, but in the future Slitherine should try to innovate a little more and introduce more unique mechanics that suit the nature of the universe it is working with.

The sense of exploration is the main draw, although the downtime between action sequences might be a little annoying to many.

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is a fun experience but it would've benefited more if it had embraced the whole Justice League theme. What's more, its puzzles need a bit of tuning, as some are really tricky to figure out, which can grow frustrating even for experienced Lego fans. Still, you'll find quite a lot of amusing moments and a pretty fun story, once you get past the opening stages.

Grand Theft Auto 5 on the new platforms is a great comeback for the already impressive game. The first-person view mode, the enhanced visuals, and the many different smaller alterations transform the game into an even better experience. However, lingering problems with the gameplay and a few visual issues keep it from achieving perfection.

In an industry where conflict tends to be approached mostly in heroic terms, with only limited attention paid to its effects on individuals who are not wielding power, This War of Mine is a solid surprise, and given its small price, as many gamers as possible should try it out and see what it has to offer.

Far Cry 4 is a stunning iteration in the series that manages to bring forth great gameplay, superb visuals, and a pretty good story with a fabulous villain. While the competitive multiplayer may not feel all that great and there are some lackluster story missions, overall you'll have a great time with the first-person shooter.

Valkyria Chronicles is an interesting title that certainly takes some of the core ideas of the Japanese role-playing game genre and twists them in innovative ways, but the whole package has not managed to fully capture my attention.

A great installment in the series. While it doesn't overhaul gameplay mechanics all that much, it delivers a fun experience that turns the table on the assassins and shows the conflict from a new angle. Shay is a great character and his assassin hunts are some of the most thrilling sequences in the series so far.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 is the best football simulation experience that Konami has delivered in years, and next year the series might actually be a challenge that EA Sports needs to take into account as it develops its own FIFA series.

I liked Dungeon of the Endless a lot, mainly due to the fact that it does pretty much everything right. It has the right balance to allow for longer play sessions once you start getting the hang of it, but it also pays respect to the roguelike elements at its core.

Unity is a good step in the series, managing to successfully overhaul most of the core mechanics. However, a lot of polishing is needed in terms of freerunning or stealth to make it all work as intended. The co-op is pretty fun, but be careful of the pretty common frame drops, errors, and annoying missions, as they can really pull you out of the experience.

The biggest criticism that can be leveled at the title is that it is a little too conservative in its approach to the role-playing and action genres and fails to introduce something entirely new...At the same time, the developers have managed to carefully polish the core tenets of Dragon Age and fans of the series will be happy to discover how easy it is to tailor Inquisition to their own play style.

A worthwhile remake of the classic Sierra point-and-click adventure game. However, big-time fans of the original will most likely dislike some aspects of the newer incarnation.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare offers a much more innovative take on the first-person shooter series than previous installments, but it's still shackled to the core recipe of forcing players to follow allies through set piece moments in the story campaign. The multiplayer offers a higher degree of innovation and it should certainly entertain quite a lot of fans who are open to trying the new mechanics.

Sunset Overdrive is a great open world action adventure game that manages to impress through its rich environments, vibrant colors, and tongue-in-cheek attitude. While the missions are somewhat generic and the enemies are a bit cheap in their attacks, it's still an awesome investment for any Xbox One owner.

Art of War for Europa Universalis IV feels essential in a way that no other expansion launched so far for the grand strategy title has felt, mostly because of the significant way it improves the map and thereby introduces more choices and variety to the entire experience.

Minutes is an innovative experience that manages to capture your heart through the clever premise. However, it’s way too challenging for its own good and becomes downright punishing as you progress through the levels.

Crusader Kings II is the most complex title that Paradox Interactive, a company known for the depth of its releases, has ever created and the already impressive mods released for it, the best of which is the one based on A Song of Ice and Fire, will certainly find new ways to expand it in the future.

Lords of the Fallen is a decent role-playing experience with some innovative features but it's weighed down by the balancing problems and the technical issues. After a few updates, it might become a good and challenging RPG, but for now, it falls short.

Full Control has managed to put together a mostly solid combat engine, which can deliver entertaining firefights under some conditions, but the rest of the experience has been neglected and does not create an interesting setting for the adventure.

While fans will certainly enjoy the "more of the same" nature of the new title, those looking for more new things might have to go elsewhere.

Beyond Earth is just as innovative when it comes to the mechanics of the turn-based strategy series as Civilization V was before it and gamers will need a bit of time to become accustomed to the increased customization, the tech web and the powerful challenge posed by the alien life.

The shooting is fun, the low gravity and oxygen ideas are nice, the story still does not impress in many ways, but overall the experience is engaging and a good way to get the adrenaline flowing.

Zen Studios seems to have an almost uncanny ability to understand what makes big franchises tick and appeal to large numbers of gamers, and then take the concepts and create impressive tables based around them.

It’s laden with tense moments and it’s a gorgeous visual journey, with a pretty good narrative and a lot of pleasant surprises for fans of the Alien franchise.

A great improvement over the original, a fantastic journey with a distinct old-school vibe, with a lot of heart and with a glossy modern veneer. Even if you haven’t played the first one, it’s a proper standalone, self-contained experience.

The levels are quite varied and imaginative, but the credit system is very punishing, although certainly attractive for those looking for a tough time.

A Golden Wake is very sober, very grand, but it has a lot of pitfalls, both when it comes to actual gameplay mechanics and to its story, which has a couple of misses. But overall, it offers a pleasurable and, most importantly, memorable experience, with some pretty sharp and witty writing, and a flavorful depiction of a fascinating era.

Runers offers a truly enjoyable experience, with a good marriage of standard roguelike mechanics expanded by the real-time top-down shooter gameplay dynamic and by the spell crafting system.

Styx: Master of Shadows is not a great game and the timing of its launch is somewhat unfortunate as many gamers are probably still enjoying the stealth approach in Shadow of Mordor, but for old school fans of the genre it does offer a solid experience with some nice level design and cool character abilities.

Worth the investment for its stellar story. Bear in mind that the combat and the camera issues are still present.

DriveClub is a great racing experience which includes enough content, both single-player and social, to keep fans of the genre occupied for months, especially if they are determined to always be better than their friends.

Chariot is a pretty decent puzzle platformer with stellar visuals but it could've been much more, had it not been for the annoying enemies and the rather difficult task of escorting the coffin through the many different caves. Its design is sound but its pace is grueling and filled with trial and error. Playing with a friend alleviates this somewhat, so bring a buddy if you want to go through the game.

Golden Realms packs everything that you would want to have added to the base game: a better late gameplay experience, quests that offer milestones as the game progresses, letting you know how everyone fares, some truly interesting spells, and a unique new faction to pilot.

If you’re the kind of person that enjoys story and an immersive experience over gameplay mechanics and action, you’ll surely have a blast with this game, in spite of its largely straightforward puzzles, empty world and some other issues that prevent it from being a true masterpiece.

There’s an immense feeling of joy and freedom that the racing experience from Playground Games can create, and the title can offer it to both veterans of the racing game genre and to newcomers looking for a fun title to spend time with.

The combat and exploration are fun, and while the game may seem a bit difficult, don't forget that running away is always a good idea.

Ancient Space is a good game that fans of strategy titles will love to spend time with, but it might be too difficult and too limited in terms of content in order to attract new fans to the genre or to serve as a spiritual successor to Homeworld.

A pretty great standalone expansion that manages to deliver a much nicer character than Delsin with more fleshed out powers. Unfortunately, the missions are pretty repetitive and weigh down the experience a fair bit. However, the challenge rooms and the touching story make up for them, to some extent.

Given the history of Endless Space and the many post-launch updates it got, we’re bound to see a lot of support for Endless Legend, fixing bugs and tweaking mechanics and improving on the already exciting experience.

Defense Grid 2 is a stellar tower defense game that manages to bring back the great recipe of its predecessor, while adding plenty of elements to make it more complex.

Wasteland 2 is a game which appeals to a rather narrowly-defined set of gamers, but seems to deliver all the features and concepts that role-playing post-apocalyptic fans are interested in, which means that it can provide them with hundreds of hours of enjoyment.

Although the developers are still tweaking the game, the steep learning curve and initial frustration at not being able to kill opponents in a timely manner, while at the same time seeing someone simply one-shot you are still things that need to be taken care of for the long-term health of Minimum.

FIFA 15 is not a revolutionary title but it has the potential to fill hundreds of hours for a football fan, be it in classic multiplayer, Ultimate Team or the classic Career Mode.

Tiestru could have been an interesting take on the tower defense genre, but unfortunately it's not. Each and every aspect, from basic design to execution and asset models points to not enough time and resources being invested into making the game.

The best feature of the entire experience is the skirmish mode and the way it allows players to customize the coming battle to their expectations.

Emperor Edition really shows how much the title from The Creative Assembly has evolved since it was originally delivered and the way the entire experience has been updated based on the needs of the community and the cool ideas of the development team.

Bungie has managed to craft plenty of great mechanics for the new game, as well as allow for player expression through the RPG skills and customization system...However, don't expect a touching story and be prepared to endure plenty of repetition in the story missions. The co-op strikes and the random operations break this tedious feel, but you should still expect some lengthy loading screens and a fair amount of unbalanced missions or strikes.

While the game is pretty simple and far from being a compelling and engrossing experience, being merely good, if you like serene affairs that focus on exploration and let you choose your own pace, without being overly challenging, you’ll find Qbeh-1 to be a pretty good fit.

Detective Grimoire is a well-paced adventure title that features a lot of talking, some good puzzles, a lot of weaker ones, quirky characters and locations, and a murder mystery that will be solved by most gamers before the protagonist has a clear clue about it.

Velocity 2X is a stellar 2D shooter that blends all sorts of different mechanics in a successful manner. Throw in the gorgeous visuals, the smooth framerate, and the imaginative design, and you have a winner. Sure, the controls take some getting used to and getting high scores requires dedication, but that doesn't weigh the game down all that much.

Fading Hearts is certainly a good visual novel game, managing to innovate in the genre by adding some big choices and by allowing characters to be more than just 2D people. The fact that they lie and most of them have fleshed out backgrounds makes you care about them even more.

Hatoful Boyfriend is at times barely a full video game, but at the same time, this is an experience that would be impossible to integrate into any other medium.

Beyond Space is not geared toward hardcore dogfigthing simulator fans, but rather toward a more casual audience that would like to try out the genre...Unfortunately, it lacks any depth due to the absence of a storyline and context for your actions, and the general game flow is questionable at best, and lacking in many areas.

The overall lack of direction, combined with the shallow and poor design of the actual encounters and gameplay flow, makes it seem like a lackluster title in the tower defense genre, and the cluttered and wonky interface, together with the overall low visual quality, makes Commando Jack an unsatisfying experience.

Back to Bed is yet another indie video game that comes off as refreshing and brilliant at first, only to succumb a short while later at the hands of poor execution and limited overall vision.

The generated terrain and towns are interesting and present both simple routes and more complex situations to get through and it’s a pleasure to simply watch the trains as they travel through hills and plains in order to move their loads or their passengers...Unfortunately some of the complexity of the game is hard to appreciate because the developers have not offered a clear tutorial or a series of explanations for newcomers, although the community has created some that appear on the official Steam page.

The Create-A-Sim and Build Mode systems are much more accessible yet offer a lot of depth for those that desire it. Sims are smart, can multitask, and interact in lots of nifty ways. However, there are still plenty of missing core items while the existing set of options are limited, to say the least, no doubt to ensure that the upcoming expansions bring lots of highly desirable things.

The Golf Club can be a good investment for purists and the editor is a great piece of work, but this is also a game that lacks attention to detail at times and suffers because of that.

Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition is a great translation of the core RPG dungeon crawler experience for consoles. While, of course, the PC edition reigns supreme, the PS4 and Xbox One versions aren't that far behind, especially when playing with friends cooperatively, either locally or online.

If you don't mind the simplified graphics and you just want a game that will help you relax and get annoyed at the same time, you'll find that Bridge Constructor is more than able to provide that experience.

Overall Shadowgate is another solid offering for puzzle-solving and adventuring enthusiasts, one that comes with a pedigree and a healthy dose of retro charm.

To End All Wars is a complex experience designed for an audience that has played AGEOD titles before and is familiar with the intricacies of warfare during World War I, and it can deliver some very satisfying variations on the real outcome of the conflict.

The problem is that by the time you get anywhere near something that resembles a scratch for your itch, the entire area of your body that prompted the search for it is already decaying, and just like an Alzheimer's patient without a GPS bracelet, you'll find yourself lost in the woods, confused and wondering what exactly it was that you were doing there in the first place, apart from chasing those kids off your lawn, of course.

Alien Creeps TD is a pretty fun yet quite difficult tower defense experience. While it doesn't break the mold in terms of features, it still manages to execute a good balance between strategy and fun. The in-app purchases, while not that obnoxious early on, become pretty necessary so bear that in mind while trying out the free-to-play game.

The soundtrack is still quite good and the voice acting is impressive for almost all characters.

This is a good way for fans of The Walking Dead to get past the fact that the second season is ending and to pass the time until 2015, when a new episodic game series will be launched.

Another aspect that might not fly well is the fact that the game is overly reliant on peer approval, making it seem like more of a Kim Kardashian fan club than a crowdsourced mystery investigation from time to time, where everyone is saying something just to be a part of the discussions.

It's a mediocre game for all intents and purposes, but if Gothic and the former installments in the series floated your boat, then you're in for a pretty good time.

Naughty Dog worked hard to improve the textures seen in the PS3 game, not to mention the character models, the animations, and much more.

The game engine is clearly improved and the defensive options are working almost too well for both the player and the Artificial Intelligence, which can create more tense matches and new challenges for fans to overcome.

History buffs with an appreciation of the complexity of naval combat will find plenty to love in the Custom Game mode, recreating classic engagements and variations based on them, but for other players the title can quickly became repetitive and frustrating.

There is no point in comparing Sacred 3 to either of the two previous games in the series, as it unfortunately shares nothing with them. The game does not do much better even as a standalone title, feeling like a rushed project that has more in common with tablet RPGs than with PC ones. It quickly becomes a tedious ordeal, where gameplay is segmented and extremely linear, mechanics feel repetitive, and you end up clearing the same room over and over again, with little variance.

Z is a bad re-release of a once good video game and it’s a pity to see that no effort was made by the team at Tick Tock Games to create something that can actually appeal to a modern player who is interested in experiencing a piece of history of the real-time strategy genre.

Frontline: Road to Moscow is a solidly built video game that has some good core mechanics and a presentation that’s both familiar and a little bit barebones.

The story is good enough but not stellar, and, once you go through it, there is little replay value. The lack of multiplayer also cuts from the life expectancy of Northmark: Hour of the Wolf. It could have done with a stronger design focus, but it's enjoyable enough as it is, if you're looking for a casual card game with a story to tell.
