    So, curse you Konami, for releasing Frogger: Ancient Shadow, which made me scream and throw my controller, and thank you Konami, for releasing "Frogger: Helmet Chaos" [PSP/DS], which I had some fun with.

    Had Pandemic and EA given this game fluid action elements in tune with more modern games such as Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden -albeit not to those extremes- we'd have a winner on our hands. But as it stands now, Conquest fails because it feels outdated, despite featuring a novel concept.

    It's ironic that we get such a lengthy tutorial to start, and then we still have dozens of questions as the game progresses. Then you've got a horrid main character, only mildly intriguing combat mechanics (which could've been very intriguing had they been correctly described and implemented), and a story that, despite its merits, remains juvenile.

    A very poorly done game, that suffers from uninspired gameplay, poor track design, redundancy, and innovation. Furthermore, gamers who enjoy a decent looking title will find that MX vs. ATV Untamed is one of the worst visual offenders out there on the PlayStation 2, as it features an absurd lack of texture detail and a never ending supply of ugly.

    There's a lot of game to be had, but with very little depth, innovation, and a lot of frustration. The gameplay isn't very balanced, so you'll end up getting killed by the A.I. constantly, despite your best efforts to stay alive. It's visually decent, but the sound is generic, with the exception of a decent, but short, soundtrack.

    It really just boils down to one question: Can you ignore the missteps and missed opportunities and simply focus on the entertaining gameplay, or will you be unable to get past those flaws? That’s the key. This is why you’re seeing such a discrepancy of scores. Some people can get past the flaws and enjoy themselves; others can’t. It’s that simple.

    Natural Doctrine fails in its ambitious attempt to deliver a wonderfully unique, deep, and rewarding turn-based strategy adventure. The foundation is solid but what’s built atop that foundation is a crazy assortment of great individual pieces, but none of them really fit together.

    Overall, I found myself liking FaceBreaker more than disliking it. But it does have a lot of things wrong with it, specifically the horribly cheap and cheesy A.I., which is God-like no matter which difficulty setting you pick. Playing through the game on the easiest difficulty is challenging.

    The whole game trips and stumbles. The puzzles can be fun, control isn't bad, some of the story elements are decent, and the sound is better than average, but that's not enough. The animations and graphics aren't up to snuff, those puzzles are often too easy and even boring, and above all else the incredible spirit that drew so many to the movie theater is missing.

    Raccoon City is just [p]lain boring to me. There's nothing here I want to return to. The game can be fun with other people, there are a few patented Resident Evil scares, and the controls work fine (provided you're willing to put up with some clunkiness). But everything else about it is really…I dunno, "meh."
