Where as the next-gen game is severely devoid of polish, with its horde of glitches, the PS2 port is surprisingly good looking, plays well, and may actually be the better game, despite not having online or create-a-wrestler modes.

A competent action game with lots of flash and some interesting and contrasting art styles across two time periods. But the repetition of the environment hinders that art style, the triviality of our objectives gets tiring, and the overemphasis on time-shifting stuff in combat gives us an excuse to ignore combos.

Jackass the Game is all over the place. Some stunts are great fun, others are terrible. The graphics are decent here, but severely lacking there. The controls in this stunt work just fine; the controls in another make us say, "what the...?"

I really do understand the intention behind the franchise's overhaul but sadly, it just doesn't work as well as it could've. I'm just not sure who they're going to satisfy. The strategy/RPG fans won't touch it with a ten-foot cattle prod and the action fans don't usually flock to mech titles, which dominate the Japanese culture but aren't as big here.

Everything in place functions okay, but there’s not one single aspect of the game that excels in terms of quality, and there are just too many problems that ultimately cripple the overall package.

The game's got an intense story, great music, and solid voice acting; but problems like poor controls, frustrating gameplay, and a general lack of polish keep the game from earning a gaming medal of honor.

A competent action slash-fest, loaded with tons of great enemy and character design, impressive animations, and an accessible, moderately rewarding combat system. But the backdrops are just too bland and uninspired, the repetitive nature of the gameplay gets tiresome, and that accessibility borders on tedious simplicity.

This game just doesn't have the shine, polish, or refinements we should expect from a third game in a franchise. To be brutally honest, the Samurai Warriors series was never very good, and unfortunately, that's the way it's going to stay.

Madagascar 2 is neither a good game, nor a learning experience for your young one. Chances are, your kid's capable of playing something more advanced than Madagascar 2, because this is about as simplistic as it can get.

Thankfully, the PSP gets a lock-on button, so you can focus on one particular enemy without the camera forcing you to lose sight of them. This makes the game much less frustrating to play, and is something that should have been in the console incarnations.

All I can say to the dedicated followers is this- Play the game on Hard Mode. It's really the only way you'll make it feel like Ninja Gaiden. But even that can't erase the bad camera, occasionally faltering frame rate, disappointing visual presentation, the lackluster online, and oh yes, the disappearance of other weapons.

Constantine (the game) is terrible... In the early days of the PS2, Constantine would've been cutting-edge; a fun action romp. But this is 2005, not 2001. We demand that games look, sound, and play better than this.

Despite a few pretty and nicely choreographed cut-scenes, this title could easily pass for a PS2 game, and that's just unacceptable these days.

It’s generic to the core and wholly uninteresting, as the AI isn’t anywhere near good enough, the developers didn’t do enough with the co-op concept (a huge disappointment), and we don’t even get a drop-in, drop-out feature.

If you're looking for only one full fledged fighter loaded to the brim with goodies, BlazBlue is what you get. Unless you're a hardcore fan, wait a bit before splurging on this $60 game. Give it time to hit $40 or less.

Datura suffers from some obvious mechanical issues but remains a very interesting and even unique title. It's short, a little too abstract in some ways, and a tad slow at times, but the quest itself, while not exactly memorable, is always intriguing and even oddly relaxing.

    NBA
NBA is beyond lackluster and barebones, it’s downright sloppy. Launch title or not, this may very well be 989’s worst sports effort since the first PS2 "GameDay" title.

It doesn't excel in all areas and actually disappoints in others but it's still a lengthy, turn-based fantasy RPG that has it where it counts, especially where fans of the genre are concerned.

The control is borderline horrendous, the graphics are very disappointing, The Chase - while deep and rewarding - isn't implemented very well, and besides the numerous pit and mechanical options, there's a surprising lack of car customization features.

So if you've got kids who have all the movies in their collections, there's no reason they shouldn't play this game. I'm almost sure they'll really have a blast.

Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam is not a horrible game, but it’s designed for an incredibly niche audience, and its gameplay and graphics are so out of date that there’s no compelling reason for anyone else to give it a shot.

If you've got nothing else better to do, then Destruction Derby Arenas can kill a few hours of your time. Provided you're not expecting too much out of the game, you'll have some fun in a "it's always fun to smash cars" sort of way.

It's easily the worst of the summer trilogy titles (Pirates, Spidey, Shrek), which is sort of apt, seeing as how it was also the worst among the competing trilogy movies. Poor visuals, dated gameplay, and horrible audio really make this one a game to avoid.

Let's assume that you're still interested in Robotech: Invasion even after hearing about how lifeless the Invid are, how weak the Cyclone concept is, and how the game doesn't try to mimic too closely the sights and sound of the cartoon it's based on. At $20 MSRP, it's worth the "risk" so long as you remotely care about Robotech and are curious to find out how the whole thing ends.

There just isn't quite enough here to warrant a full-price purchase in my eyes. You've got the 15 songs and a Battle Mode but that's about it.

We couldn't possibly recommend a purchase, regardless of price, simply because it doesn't seem like there's enough here to constitute a whole game.

Little Deviants has some ambition and creativity and it's often inarguably amusing. But the generic, bland nature of the goals in each game mode, the lackluster presentation, and the erratic and unreliable control hinder it big time. Worse, there's always a pervading sense that this is less a game and more of an incomplete production with only hardware features as the inspiration.
