Lord of the Rings Conquest succeeds in bringing Tolkien's fans a solid videogame, with intense action and a good representation of battles. But there is a strong difference between playing it multiplayer and single player, less fun than the former. Solo players should think twice the purchase.
-
Lord of the Rings: Conquest is a videogame too far from excellence to be recommendable without making some kind of warning marks before. Those who don't like the senseless button smashing will not enjoy this game, but if you are a fan of both the Tolkien universe and the online battles you will find here an honest but reiterative entertainment.
-
Lord of the Rings: Conquest is a title with a lot of potential, but only barely expressed. The great atmosphere doesn't match the lack of a solid gameplay, especially in the combat system, not too deep and often bungler. We give advice on it only to fans, the others should go for a better action title.
-
It’s clear what has happened here, Pandemic was chosen to make a Lord Of The Rings Dynasty Warriors game, but it messed it up even more than if Koei had handled it itself. It’s best you leave this well alone.
-
Bottom line with Lord of the Rings: Conquest is that it fails on almost every level to re-create the breathtaking scale and impact of its source material. Generic at best, the game's poorly staged battles and uninspired set pieces drag the player on a plodding journey through a world of imagination and invention where both of those vitally important facets have clearly been lost in translation.
-
It seems that Pandemic should stick to making games with blaster rifles instead of swords and arrows, those are infinitely better than Conquest.
