Yearly update to the Farming Simulator offers the best digital farming experience available. Grinding money will keep you occupied for a while, but eventually you want something more. An atmospheric platformer that offers little new gameplay-wise, but it's quite enjoyable while it lasts, especially with a friend. The fact that it's based on Alaskan indigenous folklore is what makes it really stand out. [Jan 2015]

Legions of Ashworld is a decent Lords of Midnight -clone, which is quite rare. The strategy part works quite nicely, but the lore is a dullish affair. The world map holds too much exact information, so you end up spending a lot of time there. [Jan 2015]

Compared to Aiden Pearce, T-Bone is a much more likeable protagonist. Unfortunately, Bad Blood doesn’t do nearly enough to fix and improve the problems with Watch Dogs’ gameplay. The fact that T-Bone basically plays like a re-skinned Aiden doesn’t help. [Jan 2015]

The latest expansion probably doesn’t win over any new fans for World of Warcraft, but for a returning player it’s definitely a charming proposition. Draenor is probably the best expansion so far. [Jan 2015]

Dead State is not much to look at, but as a zombie-themed post-apocalyptic role-playing game it’s definitely a winner. Interestingly enough, the zombies turn out to be the least of the survivors’ problems. [Jan 2015]

The well-designed toys are the highlight of Disney’s Skylanders clone. As a children’s game the new Disney Infinity falls short when viewed from a Nordic cultural perspective. Here, Marvel doesn’t really hold a status as a major cultural icon among 7 year olds. [Dec 2014]

A gem of a game. A bit more straightforward than the Baldur's Gate games, but Icewind Dale is a classic RPG in its own right. Beautiful artwork, great soundtrack and responsive combat make for a great game. [Dec 2014]

LittleBigPlanet 3 is a quite short, but very nice and pretty multiplayer platformer, one of the very best on its multiplayer niche. Competent and easy level editor rounds up the package nicely. [Dec 2014]

Lords of the Fallen may be a simplified, easier version of Souls games, but is it necessarily a bad thing? Being an overpowered iron mountain at the end game, well, it is actually quite satisfying for a change. [Dec 2014]

The latest Assassin’s Creed features an interesting storyline and some nice but broken technology. While the game still manages to be enjoyable, ultimately Unity lacks polish. [Dec 2014]

I wish playing as a templar would have had a more direct difference on the gameplay, now Assassin's Creed Rogue just feels a bit rushed. The numerous bugs and a boring main character don't do the game any favors either. [Dec 2014]

Doesn’t deserve a lot of points for creativity as the game is basically just a rehash of Far Cry 3. The good thing is that Far Cry 3 was a terrific open-world first person shooter. Far Cry 4 makes minor improvements here and there but most importantly it manages to add some variety to the enemy camps. There’s just enough stealth to keep things interesting. [Dec 2014]

The fifth and final DLC falls short on its promise to add a sense of futuristic warfare to Battlefield 4. Final Stand is not a total loss, though, as the new maps are quite good. [Dec 2014]

Jagged Alliance Flashback resurrects the classic game, unfortunately only as a skeleton. I hope that some day the flesh, muscles and soul will be added. [Dec 2014]

While overshadowed by Grand Theft Auto V, Sleeping Dogs is still a well written and executed action game. The combat mechanics are nothing short of superb. [Dec 2014]
