Close to greatness, needs an end game. Like the original Galactic Council. [June 2015]

A worthy successor to the cult classic Frozen Synapse. The turn based game mechanics provide exciting and fun gameplay and although the game is at its best when played against other people, the single player mode is a full fledged game in itself especially thanks to the new and ever improving manager mode. Bunker is a point-and-click adventure from the 90s by its mechanics and theme. Visit in a soviet bunker offers laughs, some moderate brain teasers and clicking for over 10 hours. It's a time-traveling experience to the Cold War and golden age of adventure games. [June 2015]

Carmageddon is back with a crash. Reincarnation offers little new in terms of gameplay if you have played the first two Carmageddon games, and is riddled with technical problems, but Reincarnation still has its moments after all these years. A solid, gore-filled and violent racer. [June 2015]

Il-2: Battle of Stalingrad boldly seeks to renew the genre by adding modern game design elements to the admittedly often sterile genre of flight simulators. Unfortunately not only does the bold attempt fail spectacularly, the developers also seem to have completely forgotten what made the original Il-2 a legend. The Rise of Flight legacy shows in the rather impressive visuals and physics modeling, but strangely a lot of its nice features didn't make the cut either and the “sequel” falls short of its predecessor in many ways. An open world western adventure that has a lot of charm and creativity. It's a bit on the short side, but luckily is very replayable. [June 2015]

Wild Hunt feels like an old folktale. The story is beautiful, funny and creepy at the same time, dialogue and characters set a new milestone for other game writers. Witcher 3 could be one of the best games ever made: only the ending of the story and battle system could be better. [June 2015]

Battlefield Hardline offers a fun single-player experience. Arresting suspects could have used some extra polish, as it's way too easy to manipulate the AI to surrender. The multiplayer mode is quite fun as well, but it suffers from lack of content and for the fact that it plays out like a stripped down version of Battlefield 4. The game's heritage aside, Battlefield Hardline is by no means a poor effort. [May 2015]

Worlds of Magic is a nice modernization of Master of Magic. It is a pity that the AI is too passive and the UI feels like it is still 90s. [May 2015]

The art is truly exquisite, but combining heavy themes with simplistic gameplay results in a somewhat disjointed experience. Tormentum is clearly a labor of love, you just have to be mindful of its flaws.

Real history can be a bit boring, so that's probably why Sunless Sea is set in an alternate world of 19th century where the city of London was transported underground by bats. The player is a steamship captain who must explore the vast underground sea, battle monsters and solve different types of quests. The writing and the atmosphere in the game is excellent, which is why I was really drawn into the events that were happening. It's a shame that the combat mechanics are oversimplified and simply not fun. The game is also too difficult for beginners. [May 2015]

This eautiful puzzle platformer is an atmospheric trip, but a tad too short. Well designed puzzles keep you occupied for couple of hours, but when the credits roll, you'll be crawing for more. [May 2015]

A game both lovely and flawed. Just as its predecessor, Shelter 2 is a moving, beautiful experience. It's also a bit too simple and short. The open world is a wonderful addition, but why is there so little to do in there? [Apr 2015]

Sid Meier's Starships takes a stab at space empire building with a light, turn-based tactical combat. It ends up too light though, with a very straightforward and simple strategic layer, and a decent but repetitive combat. It would have done well to take a step in the direction of classic Starfleet Command games to deepen the combat system. It's worst problem is though lack of feeling and chrome: you are not building your own eponymous Starships that you care about with the sterile and clinical technology system of the game. [Apr 2015]

Reborn is a promising start for the new entry in the Dreamfall saga. The story is as ambitious as it has always been in the series and Europolis is a gorgeous location to explore. Hopefully he remaining episodes will continue (and end!) the story in a satisfying way. [Dec 2014]
