A sumptuous but imperfect work, which fails to completely overcome some of the historical flaws of Hidetaka Miyazaki's productions. Flaws that, however, can't diminish the scope of a masterpiece destined to leave an indelible mark on the videogame world and to set new standards for the souls-like and open-world genres.

Titanfall 2 is the perfect evolution for Respawn's saga, with an intense and highly compelling - even if a bit shorter than expected - campaign and a solid, rich and satisfying multiplayer. And it's incredible what kind of gorgeous visuals they could squeeze out of a decade-old engine.

NBA 2K15 manages once again to keep up with its already high standards, with further improvements and refinements and some welcome new features like the facial scan and pre-match shows. A must have game for any basketball lover.

Jawdropping visuals and an over-the-top care to detail characterize a game capable to entertain both the motors passionates and those of you who are simply attracted by the spectacle of this kind of race. In a period monopolized by clean and shiny asphalt racers, this is a great mouthful of fresh air.

The Talos Principle II has emerged as one of the best puzzle adventures ever. A unique and fascinating experience that will keep you glued to the screen for dozens of hours while making you reflect on deep philosophical and existential themes. To be played without hesitation.

Even if lacking the the trademark narrative pillar of the series, CoD: Black Ops 4 manages to deliver an impressive and content-filled package with a more tactical and grounded multiplayer, a way improved and rich Zombie mode and probably the best - and definitely the most polished - Battle Royale mode available today.

FIFA 19 reaffirms the series' strengths, even if some smaller problems, like not so real-like player models and a bad commentary keep it from reaching a better score. It still holds strong thanks to very good and even more refined gameplay, new licenses like UEFA Champion's League and the Italy's Serie A, a more accessible FUT mode and a great soccer feeling overall. Definitely the game to have for soccer fans.

Battlefield 1 offers an incredibly epic and balanced multiplayer experience, with a great focus both on close quarters ans vehicular fights and with the Operations mode as its crown jewel. Its too short campaign won't satisfy single player lovers, but if you're looking for a good multiplayer FPS this is the game to have.

Ensemble Studios finally achieved a result sought by many developers this gen: creating a true console RTS, easy and amusing to play, yet keeping it highly challenging. Besides this, we get a great Halo story, with charismatic characters and amazing CGI cut-scenes. This game did for the RTS genre what the original Halo did for the FPS, and we're sure it will have a great impact in future games of this kind.

A frantic and highly satisfying mix of rhythm and platform game: an advised buy for sure.

After a long wait for Xbox owners, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade delivers a stunning experience that blends spectacular action with strategic depth and respect for its roots. It expands the original’s world and characters with strong pacing and cinematic flair. A rushed, disconnected finale and heavy reliance on prior knowledge slightly undermine the impact, but it remains a compelling, must-play title.

Tetris Effect: Connected is the definitive edition of the classic puzzle game, mixing its formula with Lumines' synesthetic effect and lots of modes, including the completely new and highly engaging co-op Connected mode. A game that won't leave our consoles for many years.

One of the best platform games of this generation: maybe it lacks Braid's innovation or Outland's challenge level, but it's got a great appeal thanks to an highly inspired artistic audio/visual production and a varied and constantly entertaining gameplay. Afterimage is a fascinating and content-rich metroidvania, capable of keeping us glued for dozens of hours through fantastic worlds, an elegant combat system, challenging bosses, and platforming stages to master. All beautifully blended and delightfully packaged, making Aurogon Shanghai's adventure shine as one of the best titles of its genre.

Hi-Fi RUSH nails pretty much every aspect of its formula: art style, gameplay, technical production, characters, and soundtrack. Even if its mechanics are after all quite simple, it's definitely a must-play game and a great new IP we'd love to see expanded in the future.

F1 23 further improves a franchise that had already shown it had winning cards in its hand. The perfect calibratability between the rigorous simulation and a more permissive driving model allows everyone to make the most of it, and Braking Point 2 and the F1 World are two very worthwhile goodies. The driving model, the excellent graphics, the range of options, and a very well executed multiplayer make the EA title a must-have for all motorsport fans.

Judgment places itself between tradition and innovation for the series, with an adrenaline-fueled story and a completely revolutionized multiplayer winking to the most popular online titles. Due to this it probably won't please the most conservative fans but surely deserves to be tried. People Can Fly undoubtedly did good work keeping up the series' high standards.

Disco Elysium is a unicorn in the current gaming landscape - the unquestionable quality of ZA/UM's proposal from a narrative and creative point of view makes it a game that would be a crime to miss. At the same time, due to gameplay choices and themes covered it' s also a game bound to be unpalatable to many, but those who'll let themselves to get kidnapped by the world of Elysium, will be rewarded with an absolutely memorable experience.

With NBA 2K25 Visual Concepts has managed to merge the old and the new, improving on historical features and introducing new features that make the game even more addictive, complete and accessible to all. The excellent Career mode, the most realistic gameplay ever, the top-notch technical department and the very high level of simulation make it a game to be purchased without hesitation, by veterans and newbies alike.

A highly fun racer, with lots of content and modes. Its deep track editor and sharer manages to continuously provide new challenges, while its extremely precise gameplay makes it a very competitive game, both for local and online play.

EA hit the mark in trying to renovate its football sim: graphics, gameplay, atmosphere and game modes are all in their best shape with the only exception of the Longshot mode, a bit too repetitive. If you skipped some Madden NFL games in the past in fear of the usual "more of the same", this one will definitely prove to be worth the buy.

When EA unveiled Madden NFL 26 earlier this year, expectations were cautious, but the promised improvements have all materialized. While Superstar and MUT still need work, Madden 26 stands as a significant step forward - arguably the best Madden since Madden 17.

Doom is back and it's wonderfully brutal. Its surprisingly long and polished campaign couples old school gameplay with modern design, resulting in an adrenalinic and highly entertaining experience supported by a solid multiplayer mode. And the SnapMap editor is just icing on the cake, revealing to be incredibly deep and enabling us to create very different and inventive levels and mechanics. The game to have for any shooters lover.

A compelling experience for every horror and sci-fi lover, capable of delivering some truly memorable moments even if it won't surprise you like the first game did. The vague taste of deja-vu vanishes in front of an excellent realization, with a solid multiplayer as icing on the cake.

We expected an overly simulative game, but Need for Speed: SHIFT revealed to be half-way between sim and arcade racing: nevertheless, we found id very entertaining and exciting. If you're looking for a proper sim you'll have to look elsewhere on the market, but if all you want is feeling strong and satisfying emotions, this game could be the one for you.

A welcome improvement of the original game with a more distinctive and catchy visual style, local multiplayer, a great tracklist and better movements tracking. We're still missing online play, though.

The definitive South Park video game. Obsidian built an extremely solid gameplay foundation on which they could erect Trey and Parker's game vision. The result is a surprising story, full of the series' irreverent comic sense and very satisfying to play: if you love South Park, you can't miss this.

Borderlands 4 delivers everything expected from a modern AAA game, balancing fresh ideas with the franchise’s trademark style. Though the looter-shooter formula feels less groundbreaking and the narrative lacks the punch of earlier entries, the flawless gameplay and perfect gunplay makes this new episode worthwhile. Overall, it’s a stylish, confident return and a strong contender for action/shooter of the year.
