For once, FIFA 14 could divide its fan base. Being more and more realistic, the game becomes more and more demanding. Don't misunderstand us: this is the main reason why FIFA 14 is better than FIFA 13. Passing the ball, building your chances: that's what this new FIFA is about. And exceptional players are only a solution if you make them play for the team. With the new features in Career Mode and the release of a 2-players Seasons Mode, it's certainly the best FIFA ever, and the best football game for now.

There are not many new contents and features in Dance Central 3 that make it one of a kind. And yet, with a new Story mode, the developers offer a good opportunity for players that are eager to learn their moves alone without the need of inviting all of his neighbors. If Dance Central 3 appears to be less than Just Dance 4, the title remains interesting with its clever and difficult progression.

If Nintendo refuses to start developing new licenses, it's only because the firm already has enough talent to efficiently renew it's existing ones with a success others have yet to match. Luigi's Mansion 2 is a perfect example of this pattern as Luigi's new adventures in haunted houses hack your mind like drugs once the player understands the finer points of the game. The gameplay has a great finesse which is very enjoyable and the directing along the general atmosphere are almost a masterpiece. Of course the lack of a second controlling stick is not the best feature of the game and we would have liked a multiplayer mode with more rhythm. But the number of qualities provided by Luigi's Mansion 2 makes this game a classic of the 3DS lineup.

With Dragon's Dogma 2, Capcom is making an incredible comeback. Not that this sequel revolutionizes the franchise, but it reminds us that it was innovative 12 years ago. Because long before Zelda Breath of the Wold and Elden Ring, Capcom had already initiated itself into systemic gaming, by presenting a less interventionist and above all more innovative open world. With a first attempt in 2012, the Japanese studio once again imposed its ideas, still as contemporary twelve years later. Proof that Capcom was ahead of its time and that it had already understood that the freedom offered to the player had to come through a questioning of the open world game.

These words spoken by the monk Henepola Gunaratana (94 years old this year) perfectly match what Returnal stands for. Cyberpunk had the potential of being one of the contenders to the GOTY 2020 title, with an incredible city that delivers a strong atmosphere and really beautiful graphics on PC thanks to the extensive use of Nvidia RTX. On the other hand, it’s let down by under-used features and can’t live up to the hype surrounding its release, especially given the appalling technical aspect of the game, with truckloads of bugs, and very serious performance issues, even on a very powerful PC. We bet it will be the GOTY 2021 in 6 to 8 months when everything’s been ironed out.

Who is this Zelda Echoes of Wisdom really for? This is the perfectly legitimate question that one can ask oneself after finishing the adventure, not without some desire to give up along the way. By wanting to play the break with the remake of A Link's Awakening and avoid taxing this episode as a simple DLC with a playable Zelda, Nintendo has opted for a gameplay that is the opposite of what a Zelda game represents for many people. No real combat here, but instead room for reflection and puzzle solving, that's the heart of the gameplay and we can obviously understand that the game risks displeasing a large part of the usual audience.

Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater isn’t the bold reimagining some fans might have hoped for. Instead, it’s a visually stunning update that preserves the 2004 classic almost to the letter : story, voice acting, cinematics, and gameplay included, with all their dated quirks. Unreal Engine 5 delivers impressive character models, environments, and lighting, but the clunky mechanics, outdated AI, and stiff animations remind you of the game’s age. With Pragmata, Capcom comes in with a pretty bold idea, a dual gameplay system where shooting and hacking happen at the same time, and honestly, it works really well. The whole dynamic between Hugh and Diana is easily the highlight, and once the hacking clicks, the fights feel fast, tense, and really fun. The game is at its best when everything flows together, Hugh feels great to control, super mobile, and Diana’s hacking system becomes pretty natural after a while. That contrast between the two is really what makes the game stand out. But yeah, it’s not perfect. The progression gets repetitive, the game is pretty easy overall, and the bosses, while cool-looking, don’t really push you that much. Story-wise, it’s also pretty standard. There are a few nice moments between Hugh and Diana, but overall it’s a bit predictable, and sometimes a little cheesy. Still, for the gameplay alone, Pragmata is worth checking out, just don’t expect it to last more than about 10 hours.

We thought the Uncharted series was over but Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a very good add-on to the IP built upon the foundations of Uncharted 4, but with a new interesting story centered on Nadine and ChloƩ.

SoulCalibur 5 is a true success with it's awesome gameplay and the feeling players can have while fighting. We only hoped the technical side of things would have been better with what current hardware can do.

Taking inspiration from Konami's Turtles in Time as a reference, Tribute Games and DotEmu had little chance of missing their game. A true cry of love to a cult Super Nintendo game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is this little sweet candy that we keep in the mouth as long as possible to suck all the flavors.

It's hard not to be fascinated by the magical world of Hogwarts Legacy, so much the game has been made with passion. The first steps in this adventure are enchanting, especially when it comes to Hogwarts Castle, Hogsmeade and all the interiors in reality. It's beautiful, it's alive, it's teeming with details and contemplation is indeed there. Of course, not everything is perfect, but the game invites so much exploration with its ultra generous open world that we manage to close our eyes to certain flaws.

We expected an exceptional title and Capcom did not lie to us: Resident Evil Village is a great game and above all a great Resident Evil. A true mix between the horror of the seventh episode and the meticulous action of the fourth part, this new opus is the result of a particularly well calibrated and complete experience.

Resogun is the little big surprise of the PlayStation 4 line-up. Offered with the PS Plus subscription, Housemarque's game is a perfect mix of Geometry Wars and Choplifter. Visually nice and attractive, it offers a harsh challenge though. Skill highly recommended. You'll be addicted.

With an outstanding story coupled with awesome graphics, Frictionnal Game's last project has it all to make you shake with fear. But SOMA is much more than this because the story is truly believable. The only drawback is the gameplay we found a bit light for such a game.

With six studios collaborating, The Division 2 is a blockbuster that builds itself upon the strengths of its predecessor. The game offers good gameplay, decent AI, and loads of content which is a good thing for power players. The game still lacks some soul and feels repetitive after a while.

Unsurprisingly, Fallout 4 is closer to Fallout 3 than it is to the former episodes. And it comes with all the qualities and problems we already know. But Fallout 4 belongs to this hypnotizing kind of games that you should not miss if you love Western RPGs.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist wanted to go back to basics. By throwing a handful of RPG elements into the games, Ubisoft signs a great Splinter Cell that in spite of some faults, is a rightful heir to the franchise. Without revolutionizing the genre, it should seduce without trouble any lover of the genre or any fan of infiltration games. Powered with a powerful scenario and a well known graphics engine, Tom Clancy's franchise hands back a clean work without revolution but with enough evolutions to please the gamers.

With DOOM The Dark Ages, the series takes a 180-degree turn, especially with a return to a less airborne, less frenetic DOOM compared to DOOM Eternal. The game might divide players who loved that ultra-fast FPS approach, but the developers at id Software wanted to shake up the formula. Those looking for a more grounded, back-to-basics experience will be pleased, especially since the gameplay centered around the shield-chainsaw, parries, and dodges offers a new dimension. There's less verticality and fewer aerial movements; this DOOM favors close combat but with the same brutality. While the sequences inside the large robot are fun, we're less fond of the dragon-riding sequences, which aren't always that engaging. Overall, we had a great time.
