It's a good idea from NIS America to widen access to visual novels out of Japan, as long as they make good decisions. And they don't. The publisher has maybe chosen something too spooky for the Western players. Only translated in English, DanganRonpa : Trigger Happy Havoc definitely forgets some who don't want to play 30 hours like that. The others could be interested in the crazy story but it's far too slow. Players have to read lines and lines of discussion before reaching, at last, a gameplay scene. And don't expect the visuals, in bad taste, to enhanced this not so good assessment.

The grand return of the Fatal Fury franchise, which had disappeared from the radar 26 years ago and for which NeoGeo fans had been desperately waiting, was made through the front door. This time, the game is not just for them, but also for the mainstream players, who will discover a game with a sophisticated yet accessible combat system. Even on a visual level, we're finally treated to a 3D SNK game that's obvious to look at. In short, it's perfect.

In spite of a few good ideas and an appealing atmosphere, The Red Strings Club falls a bit short to be warmingly recommended because it's quite repetitive and very short to beat (around 3h). Moreover, the dull story and the weak technical side of things makes it tough to be enthusiastic.

Twenty-six years after its initial release, L’Amerzone returns in a modernized, ambitious, and respectful version of Benoît Sokal’s original work. Microids Studio Paris delivers a remake that, despite technical limitations and dated gameplay, manages to preserve the soul of the original game. This 2025 version is primarily aimed at nostalgic players and fans of contemplative adventure, but it may leave those seeking modernity or a faster pace feeling unmoved. The respect for the source material, the quality of the art direction, and the unique atmosphere of the world make The Explorer’s Testament a valuable, almost museum-like offering—one whose strength lies in its fidelity and melancholic tone. It’s unfortunate, however, that the gameplay didn’t receive a proper overhaul to match the visual ambitions, and that the illusion of freedom promised by the trailers is shattered within the game’s opening moments. Still, L’Amerzone remains a beautiful journey to experience—provided you’re willing to slow down, observe, and immerse yourself.

Available with an attractive price, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen will please lovers of this kind of game. This extension still offers a variety of new stuff which is primarily about the content. For the gameplay or graphics rendering, no change was found. What has been the strength and vitality of the game was preserved, but not only, because AI defects are once again present. Rather annoying for a game already released a year earlier. Finally, fans who have Dragon's Dogma, 2012 version, can still feel a little aggrieved because pay € 30 for this extension is a bit excessive. The output of a PSN shift have covered some interest.

After a Yoshi's New Island we found a bit dull, and a very fun Mario Golf : World Tour, Nintendo hits a soft spot with Kirby Triple Deluxe, a real Best of the best from the small pink bubble. Graphically seducing, Hal Laboratory's tittle shines with it's addictive gameplay which uses Kirby's numerous powers, but also thanks to the changing grounds making the 3D use a must. Truly enjoyable, Kirby Triple Deluxe could have been perfect with a bit more risk-taking, instead of using game mechanics already seen numerous times. But the real drawback it that almighty feel you get while facing enemies, and the fact that the game is way too easy to provide a real challenge. We'll dry our tears with the truckload of unlockable bonuses that gives a good replay value. A game not to be missed if you like platformer games or are a Kirby fan.

It’s not the first time Link and Zelda step into Musou territory, but it’s the first time the whole thing actually feels good to play. The Switch 2 finally gives the genre the power it needed: big battles, smooth framerate, and that guilty pleasure of slicing through hordes of enemies without the game falling apart. Add a story that fills in gaps between Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, and the experience is surprisingly engaging. The downside is that the game sticks a bit too tightly to the Musou formula. Missions repeat themselves, objectives feel predictable, and the RPG layer barely adds anything. A few fun ideas (team attacks, character swapping, shoot’em-up moments) don’t fully break the routine. And visually, it’s uneven: the game runs great, but flat textures, aliasing, and blurry 720p cutscenes make it look more like a late Switch 1 title than a true Switch 2 showcase. In the end, Hyrule Warriors: Chronicles of the Sceal is a solid, enjoyable Musou with plenty of Zelda lore, but it’s still a conservative entry. Shadow Warrior 2 is what the series is about. Lo Wang, humor, violence, a bit of crafting and RPGish things to get you wandering around, more violence, chopping, and gallons of blood. Would chop again!

As a Borderlands 3 spin-off inspired by a Borderlands 2 DLC, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands can't revolutionize anything. This is its main default, especially since the Borderlands saga is already particularly prolific. But if you are not yet bored by this formula and these slightly dated visuals, then you are guaranteed to have a great time.

Detroit: Become Human is by far the most branching game ever made. Every decision that you make has its consequences, even when you just open a window. More emotional than the other games created by Quantic Dream, stunning from a technical point of view, it will mark the history of narrative games.

A Way out is a very good coop game that still suffers from some issues mainly due to the youth of the studio. The game is still one of the most rewarding coop experiences we've had this year.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a nice muso that pulls all the right strings to seduce the fans of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. If you can forget about the lousy visuals and the repetitiveness of it all, you might enjoy the nice gameplay it offers.

Tell me Why is clearly the heir of Life Is Strange, but it will only appeal to those who don't mind to hear the same story. Both games are extremely similar, and it feels like DontNod is getting low on inspiration. If you don't mind that deja vu feel, you'll enjoy a nice storyline and a very nice artistic touch.

Borderlands 3 feels a lot like a Borderlands 2.5, but if you enjoy the IP, you can't be disappointed with this new iteration, as everything has been turned to 11, with a lot of content and loads of fun.

Windjammers 2 is still an addictive game with it's simple yet deep gameplay that asks a true commitment from the player. No playable tutorial is there, and y'oull have to become a master of the frisbee through sheer sweat, tears and blood, but once you've mastered the art of the Flying Power Disc, the rewards are second to none.

Theatrhythm : Final Fantasy is clearly a game developed for fans. Similar to Dissidia in terms of contents to unlock, the game also offers a interesting gameplay introducing some RPG elements. The experience points are earned with difficulty and yet pride, especially when when players will fint it unthinkable not to play each musical pieces over and over again to reach perfection. A great opportunity to discover or rediscover the amazing compositions composed by Uematsu, Hamauzu or Sakimoto!

Metroid Prime 4 Beyond feels torn between old and new. After nearly twenty years of waiting, you’d expect a bold comeback, but the game never fully commits to its ideas. It tries to modernize (more action, more dialogue, a wider world), yet keeps clinging to old habits, resulting in something unsure of itself. The empty desert hub, the awkward motorbike, and the constant over-explaining don’t help. There are good moments, and you can see the potential, but they get buried under technical compromises and repetitive design. In the end, it’s not a bad game, just a disappointing one ; fine for newcomers, but far from the glorious return fans hoped for.

In Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move, there is no princess to save. In this game you will play as one of your favorite heroes in a couple of reasoning mini games. This game is easy to handle with a lot of content. It is big but it is for short term session only because of the repetitive side of the game. Which justifies the price of 10€ on the eShop of Nintendo.

The Wonderful 101 isn't a good surprise. Doomed buy very repetitive gameplay, the good ideas the game carries are drown into the mass, and can't make you forget about the faults. It's quite sad because Platinum Games's title is one of the few to take the risk of actually using the console's gamepad in another way than displaying a loadout or a map (at least sometimes). The design is quite close to Viewtiful Joe and is one of the strong points of the games, but here too, the limited power of Nintendo's console and the light work done to graphics from the Japanese studio are seriously holding back the potential of the artistic lead. In brief, we're far away from a System-seller game.

Pretty, deep, demanding, and accurate: Mario Golf World Tour places itself as one of the safe bets of the 3DS. You will keep training again and again to get the infinite amount of subtleties of its gameplay. But not everything is perfect. The crazy items that Nintendo was promoting are simply useless, and there will be some complaints about the price of the DLC's and Season Pass.

Rock Band 4 is not exactly Rock Band 2 for PS4 and Xbox One, but it's not that far off either. Harmonix sacrifices new ideas on the altar of compatibility; you can use former instruments, you can play all the tracks you already had, and all this is pretty good. But Rock Band 4 could have done with some graphics improvements and a few more new features.
