Gamers who have been versed in the worlds of Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter, etc. will find the new Pitfall entry with little to offer. It sports solid, loosely Pitfall-inspired gameplay, there is just nothing new about it.

The story mode is a move in the right direction, but until Nintendo can deliver a GBA-sized Pokemon RPG with depth and length, console Pokemon games will always lag behind their portable counterparts.

The final problem that really kills the title is its length and lack of replay value. There are only 10 stages plus the final boss which only take you about 40 minutes to plow through.

No matter how fun the gameplay is, that doesn’t matter if the game doesn’t consistently work, and I don’t think anyone could realistically say that Rise of the Ronin works as it should on PC. Given a bit of time and patches, I could absolutely see Rise of the Ronin becoming a must-play for anyone who wants to roam around an open-world, exploring 19th-century Japan and slicing down all kinds of enemies. But as of now, you need to wait and see if the game gets there, because it certainly isn’t at the moment.

This is not my favorite of the series so far, and after the excellent releases we had with Harry Potter and Clone Wars, I'm a little let down by this one.

I would say if you are a gigantic Hold'em fan and you need you poker itch scratched on the PS4 then consider Pure Hold'em. Otherwise I would pick up a cheaper card game compilation on PC/Mac or wait for a PlayStation Store sale. Either way only poker fans need inquire.

So would I suggest checking out Punch Club if you find the idea of a fighting simulator intriguing? Sure, provided you can acclimate to the more tedious aspects of managing stat bars and schedules, which might not require a great deal of concentration but still involve a certain level of babysitting that I haven’t found appealing so far.

The problem is that the 2D beat'em up parts and the clever touch-based puzzle parts are two separate beasts that just don't mesh well together.

Urban Chaos brings together some solid gameplay that integrates the gimmick as well as can be done. Over that lies a layer of old school sensibilities and a feeling that'll have you jamming to Team America's infamous "America, **** Yeah.” Put all of that together, and you’ve got a killer game.

Overall, Resident Evil Village: Winters’ Expansion is an enjoyable excuse revisit to one of my Games of the Year entries from 2021 and I recommend checking it out. It’s not perfect but it does have me begging for more of this. I’m going to pitch it now in case Capcom sees this review: Resident Evil Revelations 3: RE Gaiden Remake – we need more Barry and Leon, introduce some of the elements from Shadows of Rose, and we are in business!

The problem is, no matter how charming Kunai is, it’s still a Metroidvania at heart. You’re still going back and forth all the time, slowly expanding your map as you gain more powers. It adds up to a couple of hours of fun, followed by a couple more hours of feeling like you’re doing a lot of the same actions over and over again. Still, that’s at least half a good game in there, which isn’t too bad, all things considered. Kunai isn’t going to make me rethink my attitude towards the entire genre, but if you’re looking for a Metroidvania that at least does all kinds of things right, you’re certainly looking in the right direction here.

It's not a complex formula — cute characters + logical puzzles + intuitive controls (provided you pick the right ones) — but, as Lumo shows, it is a winning one.

Speaking of depth, FIFA for the PSP gives gamers just about everything you would want in a soccer title.

A nifty little title. It's light, fun, but it's more a diversion than a primary game. However, if a puzzle fix is needed in short bursts here and there, it's hard to go wrong with Prism.

Even with a few flaws and missteps, Chariot is still a very enjoyable platform title that is most welcome in a day and age where they are virtually nonexistent — unless you are a Wii U owner.

All in all, I can’t deny that Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is a great game.

It's a marked improvement over the original Sims port, and "Urbz: Sims in the City," and you might find it to be right up your alley.

Pro Street provides tons of race variations such as grip class, time attack, sector shootout, drift races, ¼ mile drag, ½ mile drag, wheelie competition, top speed runs, and speed challenges. The career mode does a nice job mixing up these race variations to help the game from growing stale too quickly.

If you've felt that the series has started to get a little stale, on the other hand, then I think Midnight Carnival will be the game for you. The game is full of great level designs with a difficulty to match, and the challenge makes it a far more addictive experience than the previous two titles for me.

I had a good time playing through all of the characters’ stories and didn’t have any other things that hit me in such a noticeably out-of-place way as the previously noted moment, so I can accept one off moment in a sea of otherwise excellent quality. Weird West was one of the more unique experiences I’ve had in a game in a while, so I certainly can’t hate it when the rest is there in such a heavy-hitting way.

All together, especially if you already know you enjoy Puzzle & Dragons, I think this is a package worth checking out.

NFL Blitz 20-03 is a near carbon copy of 20-02, no two ways about it. If you like Blitz gameplay, you'll find it here...but the lack of innovation is startling.

It’s not as fluid as the "Virtua Tennis" series, but its timed gameplay plus pro player and tournament package make it a solid effort.

If you’re looking for a challenge, Super Cop difficulty approaches the Xbox level, and the truly masochistic can always use the Hard-Boiled cheat as suggested by Namco.

It certainly is not going to revolutionize the way we play platforming games, but it is definitely an enjoyable, great looking title that is worth checking out.

What really makes One Night Stand worthwhile, though, is that despite its name — and the fact you find yourself in bed with a naked woman right off the bat — it’s not interested in being sexy (or, seeing as it’s a game, “sexy”) or titillating. It’s just a short, somewhat awkward, occasionally charming and funny (depending on what choices you pick) game about a pair of twenty-somethings having a mature conversation. There really isn’t anything else like it, and it’s worth checking out if you’re in the mood for a game about talking.

Overall, NBA Baller Beats is a completely serviceable, and generally fun, game to pick up for Kinect owners.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD is a fun ride and will take you some time to play through. It also looks good, especially for being a port of a Nintendo 3DS handheld title and will provide fans with more of the Belmont history than you could find on Ancestry.com.
