Soul Sacrifice has a soul of a complete traditional Japanese video game. Do not be looking for an RPG along with exploring its world - small arenas, a branched and huge character's specialization system, and mainly the addicting gameplay are the king here.

A truly unique game in which you play as a warrior, a strategist, a trader, a mercenary, a husband, a king, a criminal… The medieval world will let you do as you please - mainly to lead huge armies into epic battles. But it’s obvious how much better everything could have been if the game fulfilled its true potential.

A massive game with a beautiful, engaging, and highly interactive world that is a joy to explore. It impresses with sheer content, compelling puzzles, numerous systems, and dynamic combat. However, weak boss fights, a bland story, uninspired quests, and clunky controls and UI leave noticeable blemishes on the overall experience.

At first glance you see a nice strategy game that's been, however, dragged down by several design decisions that would possibly bring an international train into collapse, and I don't even talk about your wits and patience. Game's replayability goes hand in hand with immense frustration of uneven gameplay.

A more compact RPG set in the Pillars of Eternity universe never quite shakes off its sense of genericness. While the dynamic combat system is intriguing, it's held back by an equipment upgrade system that stifles experimentation. The storytelling lacks depth, emotion, or even a hint of epic grandeur. Deep within The Living Lands, there’s a promise of something greater—but it never fully blossoms into a truly exceptional experience.

Dragon's Crown pays tribute to the cult of sword and sorcery. The obvious choice for all treasure, hack and slash, and the old but gold 2D beat them ups lovers. You just need to prepare for the inevitable grind, and you may set forth upon your adventure with a capital A.

A wonderful story drawing from Germanic and northern folklore. It blends an innocent fairy-tale with actual horror and some completely bizarre sights. The game is short, but it manages to cram in a lot of ideas and make it all into a feast for the eyes. If only the gameplay itself reached the same lofty standards…

Fabledom is one of the more accessible city-building strategies that doesn't overwhelm with micromanagement. Instead, it allows full enjoyment of creating a magical kingdom, occasionally spiced up with familiar fairy-tale characters or events. It could benefit from more original ideas and a faster overall pace, but without the pressure of complex battles, it's a fun and engaging experience.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged takes the very solid core of its predecessor and adds a plethora of smaller changes, making it feel fresh. The updates make racing even more challenging, strategic, and thrilling, with the track editor standing out as one of the best in the genre. It's a shame about the imbalanced difficulty, the element of chance in obtaining new vehicles, and the lack of truly groundbreaking innovations. Nevertheless, it remains a highly entertaining racing arcade, a rarity in the genre.

It also highlights the significant evolution action adventure genre has gone through, with outdated issues like poor camera angles, level design, and archaic save systems feeling like true relics of the past. The biggest disappointment is that the remaster didn’t push further by adding user-friendly features that the games desperately need. Faint return of the popular adventure series. Deponia still charms with its original concept and humor …and even Rufus lost none of his charm. The devs from of Daedalic bring us an adventure that is good only with its story, but not with a gameplay.

Apocalypse watched from the window of a train is definitely catchy. Unfortunately, the creators did not succeed in building interesting platformer around it. Just a solid atmosphere does not create a good game.

At its core, this is a fairly enjoyable metroidvania with solid level design and attractive environments — but it's brought to its knees by an unnecessarily overcomplicated gameplay system, bland combat, and technical shortcomings. The style of humor here also won’t be to everyone’s taste.

Focusing on combat, dull story and conflicts with immersing players into the game make the first part of The White March expansion a wasted opportunity. Nevertheless it offers a good entertainment for those who still can not get enough of the original game (and its combat system).
